3 H3097 And Joab H559 said H4428 to the king, H3068 Now the LORD H430 your God H3254 add H5971 to the people, H3967 how many soever they be, an hundred times, H6471 H5869 and that the eyes H113 of my lord H4428 the king H7200 may see H4100 it: but why H113 does my lord H4428 the king H2654 delight H2088 in this H1697 thing?

4 H4428 Notwithstanding the king’s H1697 word H2388 prevailed H413 against H3097 Joab, H5921 and against H8269 the captains H2428 of the host. H3097 And Joab H8269 and the captains H2428 of the host H3318 went H6440 out from the presence H4428 of the king, H6485 to number H5971 the people H3478 of Israel.

5 H5674 And they passed H5674 over H3383 Jordan, H2583 and pitched H6177 in Aroer, H3225 on the right H3225 side H5892 of the city H8432 that lies in the middle H5158 of the river H1410 of Gad, H413 and toward H3270 Jazer:

12 H1980 Go H559 and say H1732 to David, H3541 Thus H1696 said H3068 the LORD, H5190 I offer H7969 you three H977 things; choose H259 you one H6213 of them, that I may do it to you.

13 H1410 So Gad H935 came H1732 to David, H5046 and told H559 him, and said H7651 to him, Shall seven H8141 years H7458 of famine H935 come H776 to you in your land? H5127 or will you flee H7969 three H2320 months H6440 before H6862 your enemies, H7291 while they pursue H7969 you? or that there be three H3117 days’ H1698 pestilence H776 in your land? 14 H1732 And David H559 said H1410 to Gad, H3966 I am in a great H6887 strait: H5307 let us fall H4994 now H3027 into the hand H3068 of the LORD; H7356 for his mercies H7227 are great: H5307 and let me not fall H3027 into the hand H120 of man.

15 H3068 So the LORD H5414 sent H1698 a pestilence H3478 on Israel H1242 from the morning H6256 even to the time H4150 appointed: H4191 and there died H5971 of the people H1835 from Dan H884 even to Beersheba H7657 seventy H505 thousand H376 men.

16 H4397 And when the angel H7971 stretched H3027 out his hand H3389 on Jerusalem H7843 to destroy H3068 it, the LORD H5162 repented H7451 him of the evil, H559 and said H4397 to the angel H7843 that destroyed H5971 the people, H7227 It is enough: H7503 stay H6258 now H3027 your hand. 19 H1732 And David, H1697 according to the saying H1410 of Gad, H5927 went H3068 up as the LORD H6680 commanded.

20 H728 And Araunah H8259 looked, H7200 and saw H4428 the king H5650 and his servants H5674 coming H5921 on toward H728 him: and Araunah H3318 went H7812 out, and bowed H4428 himself before the king H639 on his face H776 on the ground.

22 H728 And Araunah H559 said H1732 to David, H113 Let my lord H4428 the king H3947 take H5927 and offer H5869 up what seems H2896 good H7200 to him: behold, H1241 here be oxen H5930 for burnt H4173 sacrifice, and threshing H3627 instruments H1241 and other instruments of the oxen H6086 for wood.

23 H3605 All H728 these things did Araunah, H4428 as a king, H5414 give H4428 to the king. H728 And Araunah H559 said H4428 to the king, H3068 The LORD H430 your God H7521 accept you.

24 H4428 And the king H559 said H728 to Araunah, H3808 No; H3588 but I will surely H518 H7069 buy H4242 it of you at a price: H3808 neither H5927 will I offer H5930 burnt H3068 offerings to the LORD H430 my God H2600 of that which does cost H2600 me nothing. 25 H1732 And David H1129 built H8033 there H4196 an altar H3068 to the LORD, H5927 and offered H5930 burnt H8002 offerings and peace H3068 offerings. So the LORD H6279 was entreated H776 for the land, H4046 and the plague H6113 was stayed H3478 from Israel.

11 H7971 But put H7971 forth H3027 your hand H4994 now, H5060 and touch H3605 all H1288 that he has, and he will curse H6440 you to your face.

12 H3068 And the LORD H559 said H7854 to Satan, H2009 Behold, H3605 all H3027 that he has is in your power; H7535 only H7971 on himself put H7971 not forth H3027 your hand. H7854 So Satan H3318 went H3318 forth H6440 from the presence H3068 of the LORD.

Job 2:1
