  2 G2531 As G3333 I called them back, G1473   G3779 so G599.5 they moved G1537 from G4383 in front G1473 of me; G1473 they G3588 [2to the G* 3Baalim G2380 1sacrificed]; G2532 and G3588 to the G1099.3 carved images G2370 they burned incense.
  3 G2532 And G1473 I G4846.1 bound G3588   G* Ephraim; G353 I took G1473 him G1909 upon G3588   G1023 my arm; G1473   G2532 and G3756 they knew not G1097   G3754 that G2390 I have healed G1473 them.
  4 G1722 In G1312 corruption G444 of men G1614 I stretched G1473 them G1722 with G1199 the bonds G26.1 of my affections. G1473   G2532 And G1510.8.1 I will be G1473 to them G5613 as G4474 [2slapping G444 1a man] G1909 upon G3588   G4600 his cheek; G1473   G2532 and G1914 I shall look G4314 to G1473 him; G1410 I will prevail G1473 to him.

  1 H3478 When Israel H5288 was a child, H157 [H8799] then I loved H7121 [H8804] him, and called H1121 my son H4714 out of Egypt.
2 H7121 [H8804] As they called H1980 [H8804] them, so they went H6440 from them: H2076 [H8762] they sacrificed H1168 to Baalim, H6999 [H8762] and burned incense H6456 to graven images.
  3 H8637 0 I taught H669 Ephraim H8637 [H8809] also to go, H3947 [H8800] taking H2220 them by their arms; H3045 [H8804] but they knew H7495 [H8804] not that I healed them.
4 H4900 [H8799] I drew H2256 them with cords H120 of a man, H5688 with bands H160 of love: H7311 [H8688] and I was to them as they that take off H5923 the yoke H3895 on their jaws, H5186 [H8686] and I laid H398 [H8686] food before them.
5 H7725 [H8799] He shall not return H776 into the land H4714 of Egypt, H804 but the Assyrian H4428 shall be his king, H3985 [H8765] because they refused H7725 [H8800] to return.
6 H2719 And the sword H2342 [H8804] shall abide H5892 on his cities, H3615 [H8765] and shall consume H905 his branches, H398 [H8804] and devour H4156 them, because of their own counsels.
7 H5971 And my people H8511 [H8803] are bent H4878 to backsliding H7121 [H8799] from me: though they called H5920 them to the most High, H3162 none at all H7311 [H8787] would exalt him.
  8 H5414 [H8799] How shall I give thee up, H669 Ephraim? H4042 [H8762] how shall I deliver H3478 thee, Israel? H5414 [H8799] how shall I make H126 thee as Admah? H7760 [H8799] how shall I set H6636 thee as Zeboim? H3820 my heart H2015 [H8738] is turned H5150 within me, my consolations H3648 [H8738] are kindled H3162 together.
9 H6213 [H8799] I will not execute H2740 the burning H639 of my anger, H7725 [H8799] I will not return H7843 [H8763] to decay H669 Ephraim: H410 for I am God, H376 and not man; H6918 the Holy One H7130 in the midst H935 [H8799] of thee: and I will not enter H5892 into the city.
10 H3212 [H8799] They shall walk H310 after H3068 the LORD: H7580 [H8799] he shall roar H738 like a lion: H7580 [H8799] when he shall roar, H1121 then the sons H2729 [H8799] shall tremble H3220 from the west.
11 H2729 [H8799] They shall tremble H6833 as a bird H4714 out of Egypt, H3123 and as a dove H776 out of the land H804 of Assyria: H3427 [H8689] and I will place H1004 them in their houses, H5002 [H8803] saith H3068 the LORD.
12 H669 Ephraim H5437 [H8804] surroundeth H3585 me with lies, H1004 and the house H3478 of Israel H4820 with deceit: H3063 but Judah H7300 [H8804] yet ruleth H410 with God, H539 [H8737] and is faithful H6918 with the saints.

Wycliffe(i) 1 As the morewtid passith, the king of Israel schal passe forth. For Israel was a child, and Y louyde hym; and fro Egipt Y clepide my sone. 2 Thei clepiden hem, so thei yeden awei fro the face of hem. Thei offriden to Baalym, and maden sacrifice to symylacris. 3 And Y as a nursche of Effraym bare hem in myn armes, and thei wisten not, that Y kepte hem. 4 Y schal drawe hem in the ropis of Adam, in the boondis of charite. And Y schal be to hem as he that enhaunsith the yok on the chekis of hem; and Y bowide doun to hym, that he schulde ete. 5 He schal not turne ayen in to the lond of Egipt. And Assur, he schal be kyng of hym, for thei nolden turne. 6 A swerd bigan in the citees therof, and it schal waaste the chosun men therof, and schal eete the heedis of hem. 7 And my puple schal hange, at my comynge ayen. But a yok schal be put to hem togidere, that schal not be takun awei. 8 Hou schal Y yyue thee, Effraym? schal Y defende thee, Israel? hou schal Y yyue thee? As Adama Y schal sette thee; as Seboym. Myn herte is turned in me; my repentaunce is disturblid togidere. 9 Y schal not do the strong veniaunce of my wraththe. Y schal not turne, to leese Effraym; for Y am God, and not man. Y am hooli in the myddis of thee, and Y schal not entre in to a citee. 10 Thei schulen go after the Lord. He shal rore as a lioun, for he shal rore, and the sones of the see schulen drede. 11 And thei schulen fle awei as a brid fro Egipt, and as a culuer fro the lond of Assiriens. And Y schal sette hem in her housis, seith the Lord.

And now is Assyria their king: for they would not turn unto me. 6 Therefore shall the sword begin in their cities, the store that they have laid up shall be destroyed and eaten up: and that because of their own imaginations. 7 My people hath no lust to turn unto me, their prophets lay the yoke upon them, but they ease them not of their burden. 8 What great things have I given thee, O Ephraim? DouayRheims(i) 1 As the morning passeth, so hath the king of Israel passed away. Because Israel was a child, and I loved him: and I called my son out of Egypt. 2 As they called them, they went away from before their face: they offered victims to Baalim, and sacrificed to idols. 3 And I was like a foster father to Ephraim, I carried them in my arms: and they knew not that I healed them. 4 I will draw them with the cords of Adam, with the bands of love: and I will be to them as one that taketh off the yoke on their jaws: and I put his meat to him that he might eat. 5 He shall not return into the land of Egypt, but the Assyrian shall be his king: because they would not be converted. 6 The sword hath begun in his cities, and it shall consume his chosen men, and shall devour their heads. 7 And my people shall long for my return: but a yoke shall be put upon them together, which shall not be taken off. 8 How shall I deal with thee, O Ephraim, shall I protect thee, O Israel? how shall I make thee as Adama, shall I set thee as Seboim? my heart is turned within me, my repentance is stirred up. 9 I will not execute the fierceness of my wrath: I will not return to destroy Ephraim: because I am God, and not man: the holy one in the midst of thee, and I will not enter into the city. 10 They shall walk after the Lord, he shall roar as a lion: because he shall roar, and the children of the sea shall fear. 11 And they shall fly away like a bird out of Egypt, and like a dove out of the land of the Assyrians: and I will place them in their own houses, saith the Lord. 12 Ephraim hath compassed me about with denials, and the house of Israel with deceit: but Juda went down as a witness with God, and is faithful with the saints.

Thomson(i) 1 [p] Early in the morning they have been rejected! the king of Israel is cast off! [J] When Israel was young I loved him, and I called his children out of Egypt. 2 The more I called them, the more they ran from my presence. They sacrificed to the Baalim s, and burned incense to graven images; 3 therefore I bound Ephraim's feet. I took him up in my arms. When they did not know that I heal by the destruction of men, I bound them with the cords of my love. 4 Now I will be to them as a man who slappeth his cheeks, and I will keep an eye upon him, and exercise authority over him. 5 Ephraim dwelt in Egypt, though Assur was his king. 6 Because he refused to return, he was weakened in his cities by the sword. And it caused him to rest with his hands; and they shall eat the fruit of their devices. 7 [p] His people are indeed in imminent danger of being removed from their dwelling, will God be provoked against his honours so as never to exalt him? 8 [J] What shall I do with thee, Ephraim? Shall I shield thee, Israel? What must I do with thee? Shall I make thee as Adama and as Seboim? My heart relenteth for him. My compassion is moved. 9 I will not act according to the fierceness of mine indignation, I will not give up Ephraim to utter destruction. For I am God and am not man; The Holy One in the midst of thee. [p] Am I then not to enter a city? 10 Am I to follow the Lord? Will he roar like a lion? And because of his roaring, will the children of waters be affrighted? 11 [J] They shall be frighted like a bird out of Egypt, and like a dove out of the land of the Assyrians. And I will bring them back to their own homes, saith the Lord. 12 Ephraim encompassed me with a lie, and the house of Israel and Juda, with impieties. Now God had acknowledged them, and they were to be called the holy people of God:

Leeser(i) 1 When Israel was yet young, then I loved him, and out of Egypt did I call my son. 2 The prophets called them; but the more they went from them: unto the Be’alim would they sacrifice, and to the graven images would they burn incense. 3 Yet I myself appointed a leader for Ephraim, who took them up in his arms; but they would not acknowledge that I healed them. 4 With human cords I ever drew them forward, with leading-strings of love: and I was to them as those that lift off the yoke from their jaws, and I held out unto them food. 5 He should not return unto the land of Egypt: yet now is the Assyrian his king; because they refused to repent. 6 And the sword shall fall on his cities, and shall make an end of his boughs, and consume them, because of their evil counsels. 7 For my people are only bent on backsliding from me; and though upward they call them, they altogether will not elevate themselves. 8 How shall I give thee up, Ephraim? how shall I surrender thee, Israel? how shall I make thee as Admah? how shall I change thee as Zeboyim? turned is my heart within me, all my compassion is enkindled together. 9 I will not execute the fierceness of my anger, I will not again destroy Ephraim; for God am I, and not man, the Holy One in the midst of thee, and I will not come with an enemy’s hatred. 10 They shall follow after the Lord, when he will roar like a lion; for he will roar, and the children shall hasten together from the west; 11 They shall hasten together as birds out of Egypt, and as doves out of the land of Assyria: and I will cause them to dwell in their houses, saith the Lord. 12 (12:1) With lies hath Ephraim encompassed me about, and with deceit, the house of Israel; but Judah yet ruleth with God, and is faithful to the Holy One.
YLT(i) 1 Because Israel is a youth, and I love him, Out of Egypt I have called for My Son. 2 They have called to them rightly, They have gone from before them, To lords they do sacrifice, And to graven images they make perfume. 3 And I have caused Ephraim to go on foot, Taking them by their arms, And they have not known that I strengthened them. 4 With cords of man I do draw them, With thick cords of love, And I am to them as a raiser up of a yoke on their jaws, And I incline unto him—I feed him . 5 He turneth not back unto the land of Egypt, And Asshur—he is his king, For they have refused to return. 6 Grievous hath been the sword in his cities, And it hath ended his bars, and consumed—from their own counsels. 7 And My people are hanging in suspense, about My returning, And unto the Most High they do call, Together they exalt not.
8 How do I give thee up, O Ephraim? Do I deliver thee up, O Israel? How do I make thee as Admah? Do I set thee as Zeboim? Turned in Me is My heart, kindled together have been My repentings. 9 I do not the fierceness of My anger, I turn not back to destroy Ephraim, For God I am, and not a man. In thy midst the Holy One, and I enter not in enmity, 10 After Jehovah they go—as a lion He roareth, When He doth roar, then tremble do the sons from the west. 11 They tremble as a sparrow out of Egypt, And as a dove out of the land of Asshur, And I have caused them to dwell in their own houses, An affirmation of Jehovah. 12 Compassed Me with feigning hath Ephraim, And with deceit the house of Israel. And Judah again is ruling with God, And with the Holy Ones is faithful!
JuliaSmith(i) 1 When Israel was a child, and I loved him, and I called for my son out of Egypt 2 They called to them, thus they went from them: they will sacrifice to the Baals, and to the carved images they will burn incense. 3 And I taught Ephraim to walk, taking them by their arms; and they knew not that I healed them. 4 I will draw them with the cords of man, with the bands of love: and I will be to them as those lifting up the yoke upon their jaw-bones, and I will gently give them to eat 5 He shall not turn back to the land of Egypt, and Assur shall be his king, for they refused to turn back. 6 And the sword was polished in his cities, and it consumed his branches, and devoured from their counsels. 7 And my people are bent to turning away from me: and they will call together to the Most High; he will not exalt them. 8 How shall I give thee up, O Ephraim? Shall I deliver thee over, O Israel? How shall I give thee as the earth? Shall I set thee as roes? My heart was turned upon me; my grievings were kindled together. 9 I will not do the burning of mine anger, I will not turn back to destroy Ephraim: for I am God, and not a man; the Holy One in the midst of thee: and I will not come into the city. 10 They shall go after Jehovah: as a lion shall he roar: for he shall roar, and the sons of the waters shall tremble. 11 They shall tremble as a bird out of Egypt, and as a dove out of the land of Assur: and I caused them to dwell in their houses, says Jehovah. 12 Ephraim surrounded me with falsehood, and the house of Israel with deceit: and Judah even ruled with God, and was faithful with the holy ones.

CLV(i) 1 When Israel is a youth, then I am loving him, and from Egypt I call My son." 2 As I call to them, so they go from My presence. I am taking him on My arms, yet they knew not that I healed them." 4 With the cables of a human am I drawing them, with the ropes of My love. And I am becoming to them as those raising the yoke high over their cheeks. And I am stretching out to him, and I am feeding him." 5 And Ephraim shall not return to dwell in the land of Egypt, yet the Assyrian, he shall be his king, seeing that they refuse to return to Me." 6 And the sword will wound in his cities and will finish his pretenses, and it will devour them because of their own counsels." 7 My people are hung on backsliding from Me; though they are proclaiming Him as the Supreme, not one is exalting Him." 8 How shall I dispense to you, Ephraim? Shall I award you, Israel? How shall I dispense to you as Admah? Shall I make you as Zeboim? My heart is turned in Me; my comfortings are fervid together." 9 I will not execute the heat of My anger; I will not return to ruin Ephraim, for the El am I, and not a man, the Holy One in your midst, and I will not enter into the city." 10 They shall go after Yahweh. He shall roar as a lioness, for He shall roar! And the sons shall tremble from the sea;" 11 they shall tremble as a bird from Egypt, and as a dove from the land of Assyria. BBE(i) 1 When Israel was a child he was dear to me; and I took my son out of Egypt. 2 When I sent for them, then they went away from me; they made offerings to the Baals, burning perfumes to images. 3 But I was guiding Ephraim's footsteps; I took them up in my arms, but they were not conscious that I was ready to make them well. 4 I made them come after me with the cords of a man, with the bands of love; I was to them as one who took the yoke from off their mouths, putting meat before them. 5 He will go back to the land of Egypt and the Assyrian will be his king, because they would not come back to me. 6 And the sword will go through his towns, wasting his children and causing destruction because of their evil designs. 7 My people are given up to sinning against me; though their voice goes up on high, no one will be lifting them up. 8 How may I give you up, O Ephraim? how may I be your saviour, O Israel? how may I make you like Admah? how may I do to you as I did to Zeboim? My heart is turned in me, it is soft with pity. 9 I will not put into effect the heat of my wrath; I will not again send destruction on Ephraim; for I am God and not man, the Holy One among you; I will not put an end to you. 10 They will go after the Lord; his cry will be like that of a lion; his cry will be loud, and the children will come from the west, shaking with fear; 11 Shaking with fear like a bird, they will come out of Egypt, like a dove out of the land of Assyria: and I will give them rest in their houses, says the Lord. 12 The deceit of Ephraim and the false words of Israel are about me on every side (UNTRANSLATED TEXT) .

ECB(i) 1 Because Yisra El is a lad, I love him; and from Misrayim I call my son. 2 They call them; they go from their face: they sacrifice to Baalim and incense to sculptiles. 3 And I tread Ephrayim - taking them by their arms; and they know not that I heal them 4 - draw them with human cords - with ropes of love: and I am to them as they who lift the yoke on their jaws; and I spread to them; and they eat. 5 He returns not to the land of Misrayim, and the Ashshuri is his sovereign - because they refuse to return: 6 and the sword whirls on his cities and finishes off his branches and consumes because of their own counsels. 7 And my people are prone to apostasy: though they call Elyon to themselves, no one at all exalts him. 8 How give I you up, Ephrayim? How buckler I you, Yisra El? How give I you as Admah? How set I you as Seboim? My heart turns within me; my solaces yearn together. 9 I neither work the fuming of my wrath nor return to ruin Ephrayim: for I am El, and not man; the Holy One among you: and I enter not the city. 10 They walk after Yah Veh; he roars as a lion: when he roars, the sons from the seaward tremble: 11 they tremble as a bird from Misrayim and as a dove from the land of Ashshur: and I settle them in their houses - an oracle of Yah Veh. 12 Ephrayim surrounds me with deceptions and the house of Yisra El with deceit: and Yah Hudah rambles on with El and is trustworthy with the holy.

EJ2000(i) 1 ¶ When Israel was a boy, I loved him and called my son out of Egypt. 2 As they called them, so they went from them; they sacrificed unto Baalim, and burned incense to graven images. 3 Even with all this I guided the feet of this same Ephraim, taking them by their arms; but they did not know that I cared for them. 4 I drew them with human cords, with bands of love, and I was to them as those that raise the yoke from upon their cheeks, and I fed them. 5 He shall not return into the land of Egypt, but the Assyrian shall be his king because they refused to be converted. 6 And the sword shall fall upon his cities and shall consume his villages and devour them because of their own counsels. 7 Meanwhile, my people adhere to the rebellion against me though they call unto me upon High; absolutely none at all wish to exalt me. 8 ¶ How must I leave thee, Ephraim? how shall I give thee up, Israel? how could I make thee as Admah? nor set thee as Zeboim? my heart churns within me; all my compassion is inflamed. 9 I will not execute the fierceness of my anger; I will not return to destroy Ephraim; for I am God, and not man; the Holy One in the midst of thee; and I will not enter into the city. 10 They shall walk after the LORD; he shall roar like a lion; when he shall roar, then the sons shall come trembling from the west. 11 As a bird they shall move speedily out of Egypt, and as a dove out of the land of Assyria; and I will place them in their houses, saith the LORD. 12 Ephraim compasses me about with lies, and the house of Israel with deceit; but Judah yet rules with God and is faithful with the saints.
CAB(i) 1 Early in the morning were they cast off, the king of Israel has been cast off: for Israel is a child, and I loved him, and out of Egypt have I called his children. 2 As I called them, so they departed from My presence; they sacrificed to Baalam, and burnt incense to graven images. 3 Yet I bound the feet of Ephraim, I took him on My arm; but they knew not that I healed them. 4 When men were destroyed, I drew them with the bands of My love: and I will be to them as a man smiting another on his cheek: and I will have regard for him, and I will prevail with him. 5 Ephraim dwelt in Egypt; and as for the Assyrian, he was his king, because he would not return. 6 And in his cities he prevailed not with the sword, and he ceased to war with his hands; and they shall eat of the fruit of their own devices. 7 And his people shall cleave fondly to their habitation; but God shall be angry with his precious things, and shall not at all exalt him. 8 How shall I deal with you, O Ephraim? How shall I protect you, O Israel? What shall I do with you? I will make you as Adamah, and as Zeboiim; My heart is turned at once, My repentance is powerfully excited. 9 I will not act according to the fury of My wrath, I will not abandon Ephraim to be utterly destroyed: for I am God, and not man; the Holy One in your midst; and I will not enter into the city. 10 I will go after the Lord: He shall utter His voice as a lion. For He shall roar, and the children of the waters shall be amazed. 11 They shall be amazed and fly as a bird out of Egypt, and as a dove out of the land of the Assyrians: and I will restore them to their houses, says the Lord. 12 Ephraim has compassed Me with falsehood, and the house of Israel and Judah with ungodliness; but now God knows them, and they shall be called God's holy people.

Esperanto(i) 1 Kiam Izrael estis junulo, Mi lin ekamis, kaj el Egiptujo Mi vokis Mian filon.
5 Eivätkö he joutuisi jälleen Egyptin maahan, eikö Assur tulisi heille kuninkaaksi, koska he eivät ole tahtoneet kääntyä? 6 Miekka on riehuva hänen kaupungeissansa, on hävittävä hänen salpansa, on syövä syötävänsä, heidän neuvonpiteittensä takia. Kuinka jättäisin sinut niinkuin Adman, tekisin sinulle niinkuin Seboimille? Minun sydämeni kääntyy, minun säälini herää. 9 En minä pane täytäntöön vihani hehkua, en enää hävitä Efraimia. Sillä minä olen Jumala enkä ihminen, olen Pyhä sinun keskelläsi; en tule minä vihan tuimuudessa. 10 Ja he vaeltavat Herran jäljessä.
Mwen bese atè pou m' ba yo manje. 5 Men yo refize tounen vin jwenn mwen. Se poutèt sa yo p'ap tounen nan peyi Lejip la ankò, se moun Lasiri ki va gouvènen yo. 6 Lènmi pral desann sou lavil yo ak nepe nan men yo. Y'ap kraze miray ranpa lavil yo, y'ap detwi pèp mwen an, paske yo fè sa yo pito. 7 Yo vire do ban mwen, yo fin pran pli a nèt. Y'a rele anba chay ki sou zepòl yo a, men pesonn p'ap vin wete l' sou yo. 8 Nou menm moun Efrayim yo, kouman nou ta vle pou m' lage nou? Nou menm moun Izrayèl yo, kouman nou ta vle pou m' ta detwi nou tankou mwen te detwi lavi Adma? Kouman nou ta vle pou m' ta trete nou tankou mwen te trete lavil Zeboyim yo? Non! Mwen pa gen kè pou m' fè bagay konsa. Tout zantray mwen ap fè mwen mal pou nou. 9 Mwen p'ap fè sa m' te di mwen t'ap fè lè m' te ankòlè a. Mwen p'ap detwi moun Efrayim yo ankò. 10 Y'a pran mache dèyè m' ankò. Lè m'a gwonde tankou yon lyon, y'a tranble kou fèy bwa, y'a kouri kite peyi bò kote solèy kouche a, y'a vin jwenn mwen. 11 Y'a vole tankou zwazo, y'a kouri kite peyi Lejip. Y'a pran zèl tankou toutrèl, y'a kouri kite peyi Lasiri. M'a fè yo tounen vin rete nan peyi yo a.
Sebab Aku Allah, bukan manusia.

PBG(i) 1 Gdy Izrael był dziecięciem, miłowałem go, a z Egiptu wezwałem syna mego.
Portuguese(i) 1 Quando Israel era menino, eu o amei, e do Egipto chamei a meu filho.
Mitt hjerte vender sig i mig, all min medynk våkner.
