  1 H1121 Now the children H7205 of Reuben H1121 and the children H1410 of Gad H1961 had H3966 a very H6099 great H7227 multitude H4735 of cattle: H7200 and when they saw H776 the land H3270 of Jazer, H776 and the land H1568 of Gilead, H2009 that, behold, H4725 the place H4725 was a place H4735 for cattle;
  2 H1121 The children H1410 of Gad H1121 and the children H7205 of Reuben H935 came H559 and spoke H4872 to Moses, H499 and to Eleazar H3548 the priest, H5387 and to the princes H5712 of the congregation, H559 saying,
  3 H5852 Ataroth, H1769 and Dibon, H3270 and Jazer, H5247 and Nimrah, H2809 and Heshbon, H500 and Elealeh, H7643 and Shebam, H5015 and Nebo, H1194 and Beon,
  4 H776 Even the country H834 which H3068 the LORD H5221 smote H6440 before H5712 the congregation H3478 of Israel, H776 is a land H4735 for cattle, H5650 and your servants H4735 have cattle:
  5 H559 Why, said H518 they, if H4672 we have found H2580 grace H5869 in your sight, H2063 let this H776 land H5414 be given H5650 to your servants H272 for a possession, H5674 and bring H5674 us not over H3383 Jordan.
  6 H4872 And Moses H559 said H1121 to the children H1410 of Gad H1121 and to the children H7205 of Reuben, H251 Shall your brothers H935 go H4421 to war, H3427 and shall you sit H6311 here?
  7 H4100 And why H5106 discourage H3820 you the heart H1121 of the children H3478 of Israel H5674 from going H5674 over H413 into H776 the land H834 which H3068 the LORD H5414 has given them?
  8 H3541 Thus H6213 did H1 your fathers, H7971 when I sent H6947 them from Kadeshbarnea H7200 to see H776 the land.
  9 H5927 For when they went H5158 up to the valley H812 of Eshcol, H7200 and saw H776 the land, H5106 they discouraged H3820 the heart H1121 of the children H3478 of Israel, H935 that they should not go H413 into H776 the land H834 which H3068 the LORD H5414 had given them.
  10 H3068 And the LORD’s H639 anger H2734 was kindled H1931 the same H3117 time, H7650 and he swore, H559 saying,
  11 H518 Surely H582 none of the men H5927 that came H4714 up out of Egypt, H6242 from twenty H8141 years H1121 old H4605 and upward, H7200 shall see H127 the land H834 which H7650 I swore H85 to Abraham, H3327 to Isaac, H3290 and to Jacob; H3588 because H4390 they have not wholly H310 followed me:
  12 H3588 Save H518 H3612 Caleb H1121 the son H3312 of Jephunneh H7074 the Kenezite, H3091 and Joshua H1121 the son H5126 of Nun: H4390 for they have wholly H310 followed H3068 the LORD.
  13 H3068 And the LORD’s H639 anger H3478 was kindled against Israel, H5128 and he made them wander H4057 in the wilderness H705 forty H8141 years, H5704 until H3605 all H1755 the generation, H6213 that had done H7451 evil H5869 in the sight H3068 of the LORD, H8552 was consumed.
  14 H2009 And, behold, H6965 you are risen H1 up in your fathers’ H8478 stead, H8635 an increase H2400 of sinful H582 men, H5595 to augment H5750 yet H2740 the fierce H639 anger H3068 of the LORD H413 toward H3478 Israel.
  15 H7725 For if you turn H310 away from after H5750 him, he will yet H3254 again H5117 leave H4057 them in the wilderness; H7843 and you shall destroy H3605 all H2088 this H5971 people.
  16 H5066 And they came H5066 near H559 to him, and said, H1129 We will build H1488 sheepfolds H6629 H6311 here H4735 for our cattle, H5892 and cities H2945 for our little ones:
  17 H587 But we ourselves H2363 will go ready H2502 armed H6440 before H1121 the children H3478 of Israel, H5704 until H935 we have brought H4725 them to their place: H2945 and our little H3427 ones shall dwell H4013 in the fenced H5892 cities H6440 because H3427 of the inhabitants H776 of the land.
  18 H7725 We will not return H1004 to our houses, H5704 until H1121 the children H3478 of Israel H5157 have inherited H376 every man H5159 his inheritance.
  19 H5157 For we will not inherit H5921 with them on H5676 yonder H5676 side H3383 Jordan, H1973 or forward; H3588 because H5159 our inheritance H935 is fallen H5921 to us on H5676 this side H3383 Jordan H4217 eastward.
  20 H4872 And Moses H559 said H518 to them, If H6213 you will do H2088 this H1697 thing, H518 if H2502 you will go armed H6440 before H3068 the LORD H4421 to war,
  21 H5674 And will go H3605 all H2502 of you armed H5674 over H3383 Jordan H6440 before H3068 the LORD, H5704 until H3423 he has driven H341 out his enemies H6440 from before him,
  22 H776 And the land H3533 be subdued H6440 before H3068 the LORD: H310 then afterward H7725 you shall return, H5355 and be guiltless H3068 before the LORD, H3478 and before Israel; H2063 and this H776 land H272 shall be your possession H6440 before H3068 the LORD.
  23 H518 But if H6213 you will not do H3651 so, H2009 behold, H2398 you have sinned H3068 against the LORD: H3045 and be sure H2403 your sin H4672 will find you out.
  24 H1129 Build H5892 you cities H2945 for your little H1448 ones, and folds H6792 for your sheep; H6213 and do H3318 that which has proceeded H6310 out of your mouth.
  25 H1121 And the children H1410 of Gad H1121 and the children H7205 of Reuben H559 spoke H4872 to Moses, H559 saying, H5650 Your servants H6213 will do H113 as my lord H6680 commands.
  26 H2945 Our little H802 ones, our wives, H4735 our flocks, H3605 and all H929 our cattle, H8033 shall be there H5892 in the cities H1568 of Gilead:
  27 H5650 But your servants H5674 will pass H5674 over, H3605 every H2502 man armed H6635 for war, H6440 before H3068 the LORD H4421 to battle, H113 as my lord H1696 said.
  28 H4872 So concerning them Moses H6680 commanded H499 Eleazar H3548 the priest, H3091 and Joshua H1121 the son H5126 of Nun, H7218 and the chief H1 fathers H4294 of the tribes H1121 of the children H3478 of Israel:
  29 H4872 And Moses H559 said H518 to them, If H1121 the children H1410 of Gad H1121 and the children H7205 of Reuben H5674 will pass H5674 with you over H3383 Jordan, H3605 every H2502 man armed H4421 to battle, H6440 before H3068 the LORD, H776 and the land H3533 shall be subdued H6440 before H5414 you; then you shall give H776 them the land H1568 of Gilead H272 for a possession:
  30 H518 But if H5674 they will not pass H5674 over H2502 with you armed, H270 they shall have H270 possessions H8432 among H776 you in the land H3667 of Canaan.
  31 H1121 And the children H1410 of Gad H1121 and the children H7205 of Reuben H6030 answered, H559 saying, H3068 As the LORD H1696 has said H5650 to your servants, H3651 so H6213 will we do.
  32 H5674 We will pass H5674 over H2502 armed H6440 before H3068 the LORD H776 into the land H3667 of Canaan, H272 that the possession H5159 of our inheritance H5921 on H5676 this side H3383 Jordan may be ours.
  33 H4872 And Moses H5414 gave H1121 to them, even to the children H1410 of Gad, H1121 and to the children H7205 of Reuben, H2677 and to half H7626 the tribe H4519 of Manasseh H1121 the son H3130 of Joseph, H4467 the kingdom H5511 of Sihon H4428 king H567 of the Amorites, H4467 and the kingdom H5747 of Og H4428 king H1316 of Bashan, H776 the land, H5892 with the cities H1367 thereof in the coasts, H5892 even the cities H776 of the country H5439 round about.
  34 H1121 And the children H1410 of Gad H1129 built H1769 Dibon, H5852 and Ataroth, H6177 and Aroer,
  35 H5855 And Atroth, H5855 Shophan, H3270 and Jaazer, H3011 and Jogbehah,
  36 H1039 And Bethnimrah, H1028 and Bethharan, H4013 fenced H5892 cities: H1448 and folds H6629 for sheep.
  37 H1121 And the children H7205 of Reuben H1129 built H2809 Heshbon, H500 and Elealeh, H7156 and Kirjathaim,
  38 H5015 And Nebo, H1186 and Baalmeon, H8034 (their names H5437 being changed, H7643 ) and Shibmah: H7121 and gave H8034 other names H5892 to the cities H834 which H1129 they built.
  39 H1121 And the children H4353 of Machir H1121 the son H4519 of Manasseh H3212 went H1568 to Gilead, H3920 and took H3423 it, and dispossessed H567 the Amorite H834 which was in it.
  40 H4872 And Moses H5414 gave H1568 Gilead H4353 to Machir H1121 the son H4519 of Manasseh; H3427 and he dwelled therein.
  41 H2971 And Jair H1121 the son H4519 of Manasseh H1980 went H3920 and took H2333 the small towns H7121 thereof, and called H2334 them Havothjair.
  42 H5025 And Nobah H1980 went H3920 and took H7079 Kenath, H1323 and the villages H7121 thereof, and called H5025 it Nobah, H8034 after his own name.
