Numbers 32 Now the sons of Reuben and the sons of Gad had a very great multitude of cattle: and when they saw the land of Jazer, and the land of Gilead, that, behold, the place was a place for cattle;

1 H1121 Now the sons H7205 of Reuben H1121 and the sons H1410 of Gad H3966 had a very H6099 great H7227 multitude H4735 of cattle: H7200 and when they saw H776 the land H3270 of Jazer, H776 and the land H1568 of Gilead, H4725 that, behold, the place H4725 was a place H4735 for cattle;

2 H1121 The sons H1410 of Gad H1121 and the sons H7205 of Reuben H935 came H559 and spoke H4872 unto Moses, H499 and to Eleazar H3548 the priest, H5387 and unto the princes H5712 of the congregation, H559 saying,

3 H5852 Ataroth, H1769 and Dibon, H3270 and Jazer, H5247 and Nimrah, H2809 and Heshbon, H500 and Elealeh, H7643 and Shebam, H5015 and Nebo, H1194 and Beon,

4 H776 Even the country H3068 which the Lord H5221 struck H6440 before H5712 the congregation H3478 of Israel, H776 is a land H4735 for cattle, H5650 and your servants H4735 have cattle:

5 H559 Therefore, said H4672 they, if we have found H2580 grace H5869 in your sight, H776 let this land H5414 be given H5650 unto your servants H272 for a possession, H5674 and bring us not over H3383 Jordan.

6 H4872 And Moses H559 said H1121 unto the sons H1410 of Gad H1121 and to the sons H7205 of Reuben, H251 Shall your brothers H935 go H4421 to war, H3427 and shall you sit here?

7 H5106 And therefore discourage you H3820 the heart H1121 of the sons H3478 of Israel H5674 from going over H776 into the land H3068 which the Lord H5414 has given them?

8 H6213 Thus did H1 your fathers, H7971 when I sent H6947 them from Kadesh–barnea H7200 to see H776 the land.

9 H5927 For when they went up H5158 unto the valley H812 of Eshcol, H7200 and saw H776 the land, H5106 they discouraged H3820 the heart H1121 of the sons H3478 of Israel, H935 that they should not go H776 into the land H3068 which the Lord H5414 had given them.

10 H3068 And the Lord's H639 anger H2734 was kindled H3117 the same time, H7650 and he swore, H559 saying,

11 H518 Surely H582 none of the men H5927 that came up H4714 out of Egypt, H6242 from twenty H8141 years H1121 old H4605 and upward, H7200 shall see H127 the land H7650 which I swore H85 unto Abraham, H3327 unto Isaac, H3290 and unto Jacob; H4390 because they have not wholly H310 followed me:

12 H3612 Save Caleb H1121 the son H3312 of Jephunneh H7074 the Kenezite, H3091 and Joshua H1121 the son H5126 of Nun: H4390 for they have wholly H310 followed H3068 the Lord.

13 H3068 And the Lord's H639 anger H2734 was kindled H3478 against Israel, H5128 and he made them wander H4057 in the wilderness H705 forty H8141 years, H1755 until all the generation, H6213 that had done H7451 evil H5869 in the sight H3068 of the Lord, H8552 was consumed.

14 H6965 And, behold, you are risen up H1 in your fathers' H8635 stead, an increase H2400 of sinful H582 men, H5595 to augment H2740 yet the fierce H639 anger H3068 of the Lord H3478 toward Israel.

15 H7725 For if you turn away H310 from after H3254 him, he will yet again H3240 leave H4057 them in the wilderness; H7843 and you shall destroy H5971 all this people.

16 H5066 And they came near H559 unto him, and said, H1129 We will build H1448 sheepfolds H4735 here for our cattle, H5892 and cities H2945 for our little ones:

17 H587 But we ourselves H2363 will go ready H2502 armed H6440 before H1121 the sons H3478 of Israel, H935 until we have brought H4725 them unto their place: H2945 and our little ones H3427 shall live H4013 in the fenced H5892 cities H6440 because H3427 of the inhabitants H776 of the land.

18 H7725 We will not return H1004 unto our houses, H1121 until the sons H3478 of Israel H5157 have inherited H376 every man H5159 his inheritance.

19 H5157 For we will not inherit H5676 with them on yonder side H3383 Jordan, H1973 or forward; H5159 because our inheritance H935 is fallen H5676 to us on this side H3383 Jordan H4217 eastward.

20 H4872 And Moses H559 said H6213 unto them, If you will do H1697 this thing, H2502 if you will go armed H6440 before H3068 the Lord H4421 to war,

21 H5674 And will go H2502 all of you armed H5674 over H3383 Jordan H6440 before H3068 the Lord, H3423 until he has driven out H341 his enemies H6440 from before him,

22 H776 And the land H3533 be subdued H6440 before H3068 the Lord: H310 then afterward H7725 you shall return, H5355 and be guiltless H3068 before the Lord, H3478 and before Israel; H776 and this land H272 shall be your possession H6440 before H3068 the Lord.

23 H6213 But if you will not do so, H2398 behold, you have sinned H3068 against the Lord: H3045 and be sure H2403 your sin H4672 will find you out.

24 H1129 Build H5892 you cities H2945 for your little ones, H1448 and folds H6792 for your sheep; H6213 and do H3318 that which has proceeded H6310 out of your mouth.

25 H1121 And the sons H1410 of Gad H1121 and the sons H7205 of Reuben H559 spoke H4872 unto Moses, H559 saying, H5650 Your servants H6213 will do H113 as my lord H6680 commanded.

26 H2945 Our little ones, H802 our wives, H4735 our flocks, H929 and all our cattle, H5892 shall be there in the cities H1568 of Gilead:

27 H5650 But your servants H5674 will pass over, H2502 every man armed H6635 for war, H6440 before H3068 the Lord H4421 to battle, H113 as my lord H1696 says.

28 H4872 So concerning them Moses H6680 commanded H499 Eleazar H3548 the priest, H3091 and Joshua H1121 the son H5126 of Nun, H7218 and the chief H1 fathers H4294 of the tribes H1121 of the sons H3478 of Israel:

29 H4872 And Moses H559 said H1121 unto them, If the sons H1410 of Gad H1121 and the sons H7205 of Reuben H5674 will pass with you over H3383 Jordan, H2502 every man armed H4421 to battle, H6440 before H3068 the Lord, H776 and the land H3533 shall be subdued H6440 before H5414 you; then you shall give H776 them the land H1568 of Gilead H272 for a possession:

30 H5674 But if they will not pass over H2502 with you armed, H270 they shall have possessions H8432 among H776 you in the land H3667 of Canaan.

31 H1121 And the sons H1410 of Gad H1121 and the sons H7205 of Reuben H6030 answered, H559 saying, H3068 As the Lord H1696 has said H5650 unto your servants, H6213 so will we do.

32 H5168 We will H5674 pass over H2502 armed H6440 before H3068 the Lord H776 into the land H3667 of Canaan, H272 that the possession H5159 of our inheritance H5676 on this side H3383 Jordan may be ours.

33 H4872 And Moses H5414 gave H1121 unto them, even to the sons H1410 of Gad, H1121 and to the sons H7205 of Reuben, H2677 and unto half H7626 the tribe H4519 of Manasseh H1121 the son H3130 of Joseph, H4467 the kingdom H5511 of Sihon H4428 king H567 of the Amorites, H4467 and the kingdom H5747 of Og H4428 king H1316 of Bashan, H776 the land, H5892 with the cities H1367 there in the coasts, H5892 even the cities H776 of the country H5439 round about.

34 H1121 And the sons H1410 of Gad H1129 built H1769 Dibon, H5852 and Ataroth, H6177 and Aroer,

35 H5855 And Atroth, Shophan, H3270 and Jaazer, H3011 and Jogbehah,

36 H1039 And Beth–nimrah, H1028 and Beth–haran, H4013 fenced H5892 cities: H1448 and folds H6629 for sheep.

37 H1121 And the sons H7205 of Reuben H1129 built H2809 Heshbon, H500 and Elealeh, H7156 and Kirjathaim,

38 H5015 And Nebo, H1186 and Baal–meon, H8034 (their names H4142 being changed,) H7643 and Shibmah: H7121 and gave H8034 other names H5892 unto the cities H1129 which they built.

39 H1121 And the sons H4353 of Machir H1121 the son H4519 of Manasseh H3212 went H1568 to Gilead, H3920 and took H3423 it, and dispossessed H567 the Amorite which was in it.

40 H4872 And Moses H5414 gave H1568 Gilead H4353 unto Machir H1121 the son H4519 of Manasseh; H3427 and he lived in it.

41 H2971 And Jair H1121 the son H4519 of Manasseh H1980 went H3920 and took H2333 the small towns H7121 there, and called H2334 them Havoth–jair.

42 H5025 And Nobah H1980 went H3920 and took H7079 Kenath, H1323 and the villages H7121 there, and called H5025 it Nobah, H8034 after his own name.
