Numbers 32 Now the sons of Reuben and the sons of Gad had a very great multitude of cattle: and when they saw the land of Jazer, and the land of Gilead, that, behold, the place was a place for cattle;

1 H1121 Now the sons H7205 of Reuben H1121 and the sons H1410 of Gad H3966 had a very H6099 great H7227 multitude H4735 of cattle: H7200 [H8799] and when they saw H776 the land H3270 of Jazer, H776 and the land H1568 of Gilead, H4725 that, behold, the place H4725 was a place H4735 for cattle;

2 H1121 The sons H1410 of Gad H1121 and the sons H7205 of Reuben H935 [H8799] came H559 [H8799] and spoke H4872 to Moses, H499 and to Eleazar H3548 the priest, H5387 and to the princes H5712 of the company, H559 [H8800] saying,

3 H5852 Ataroth, H1769 and Dibon, H3270 and Jazer, H5247 and Nimrah, H2809 and Heshbon, H500 and Elealeh, H7643 and Shebam, H5015 and Nebo, H1194 and Beon,

4 H776 Even the land H3068 which the LORD H5221 [H8689] smote H6440 at the face of H5712 the company H3478 of Israel, H776 is a land H4735 for cattle, H5650 and thy servants H4735 have cattle:

5 H559 [H8799] Therefore, said H4672 [H8804] they, if we have found H2580 grace H5869 in thine eyes, H776 let this land H5414 [H8714] be given H5650 to thy servants H272 for a possession, H5674 [H8686] and bring us not over H3383 Jordan.

6 H4872 And Moses H559 [H8799] said H1121 to the sons H1410 of Gad H1121 and to the sons H7205 of Reuben, H251 Shall your brethren H935 [H8799] go H4421 to war, H3427 [H8799] and shall ye sit here?

7 H5106 H5106 [H8686] And why discourage ye H3820 the heart H1121 of the sons H3478 of Israel H5674 [H8800] from going over H776 into the land H3068 which the LORD H5414 [H8804] hath given them?

8 H6213 [H8804] Thus did H1 your fathers, H7971 [H8800] when I sent H6947 them from Kadeshbarnea H7200 [H8800] to see H776 the land.

9 H5927 [H8799] For when they went up H5158 to the valley H812 of Eshcol, H7200 [H8799] and saw H776 the land, H5106 [H8686] they discouraged H3820 the heart H1121 of the sons H3478 of Israel, H935 [H8800] that they should not go H776 into the land H3068 which the LORD H5414 [H8804] had given them.

10 H3068 And the LORD'S H639 anger H2734 [H8799] was kindled H3117 the same time, H7650 [H8735] and he swore, H559 [H8800] saying,

11 H518 Surely H582 none of the men H5927 [H8802] that came up H4714 from Egypt, H6242 from twenty H8141 years H1121 old H4605 and upward, H7200 [H8799] shall see H127 the soil H7650 [H8738] which I swore H85 to Abraham, H3327 to Isaac, H3290 and to Jacob; H4390 [H8765] because they have not wholly H310 followed me:

12 H3612 Except Caleb H1121 the son H3312 of Jephunneh H7074 the Kenezite, H3091 and Joshua H1121 the son H5126 of Nun: H4390 [H8765] for they have wholly H310 followed H3068 the LORD.

13 H3068 And the LORD'S H639 anger H2734 [H8799] was kindled H3478 against Israel, H5128 [H8686] and he made them wander H4057 in the wilderness H705 forty H8141 years, H1755 until all the generation, H6213 [H8802] that had done H7451 evil H5869 in the eyes H3068 of the LORD, H8552 [H8800] was consumed.

14 H6965 [H8804] And, behold, ye have risen up H1 in your fathers' H8635 stead, an increase H2400 of sinful H582 men, H5595 [H8800] to augment H2740 yet the burning H639 anger H3068 of the LORD H3478 toward Israel.

15 H7725 [H8799] For if ye turn away H310 from after H3254 [H8804] him, he will yet again H3240 [H8687] leave H4057 them in the wilderness; H7843 [H8765] and he shall decay H5971 all this people.

16 H5066 [H8799] And they came near H559 [H8799] to him, and said, H1129 [H8799] We will build H1448 H6629 sheepfolds H4735 here for our cattle, H5892 and cities H2945 for our little ones:

17 H587 But we ourselves H2363 [H8803] will go ready H2502 [H8735] armed H6440 at the face of H1121 the sons H3478 of Israel, H935 [H8689] until we have brought H4725 them to their place: H2945 and our little ones H3427 [H8804] shall dwell H4013 in the fortified H5892 cities H6440 because H3427 [H8802] of the inhabitants H776 of the land.

18 H7725 [H8799] We will not return H1004 to our houses, H1121 until the sons H3478 of Israel H5157 [H8692] have inherited H376 every man H5159 his inheritance.

19 H5157 [H8799] For we will not inherit H5676 with them on the other side H3383 of Jordan, H1973 or beyond; H5159 because our inheritance H935 [H8804] hath fallen H5676 to us on this side H3383 of Jordan H4217 eastward.

20 H4872 And Moses H559 [H8799] said H6213 [H8799] to them, If ye will do H1697 this thing, H2502 [H8735] if ye will go armed H6440 at the face of H3068 the LORD H4421 to war,

21 H5674 0 And will go H2502 [H8803] all of you armed H5674 [H8804] over H3383 Jordan H6440 at the face of H3068 the LORD, H3423 [H8687] until he hath driven out H341 [H8802] his enemies H6440 from the face of him,

22 H776 And the land H3533 [H8738] shall be subdued H6440 at the face of H3068 the LORD: H310 then afterward H7725 [H8799] ye shall return, H5355 and be guiltless H3068 before the LORD, H3478 and before Israel; H776 and this land H272 shall be your possession H6440 at the face of H3068 the LORD.

23 H6213 [H8799] But if ye will not do so, H2398 [H8804] behold, ye have sinned H3068 against the LORD: H3045 [H8798] and be sure H2403 your sin H4672 [H8799] will find you out.

24 H1129 [H8798] Build H5892 for yourselves cities H2945 for your little ones, H1448 and folds H6792 for your sheep; H6213 [H8799] and do H3318 [H8802] that which hath proceeded H6310 out of your mouth.

25 H1121 And the sons H1410 of Gad H1121 and the sons H7205 of Reuben H559 [H8799] spoke H4872 to Moses, H559 [H8800] saying, H5650 Thy servants H6213 [H8799] will do H113 as my lord H6680 [H8764] commandeth.

26 H2945 Our little ones, H802 our wives, H4735 our flocks, H929 and all our cattle, H5892 shall be there in the cities H1568 of Gilead:

27 H5650 But thy servants H5674 [H8799] will pass over, H2502 [H8803] every man armed H6635 for war, H6440 at the face of H3068 the LORD H4421 to battle, H113 as my lord H1696 [H8802] saith.

28 H4872 So concerning them Moses H6680 [H8762] commanded H499 Eleazar H3548 the priest, H3091 and Joshua H1121 the son H5126 of Nun, H7218 and the chief H1 fathers H4294 of the tribes H1121 of the sons H3478 of Israel:

29 H4872 And Moses H559 [H8799] said H1121 to them, If the sons H1410 of Gad H1121 and the sons H7205 of Reuben H5674 [H8799] will pass with you over H3383 Jordan, H2502 [H8803] every man armed H4421 for battle, H6440 at the face of H3068 the LORD, H776 and the land H3533 [H8738] shall be subdued H6440 at the face of H5414 [H8804] you; then ye shall give H776 them the land H1568 of Gilead H272 for a possession:

30 H5674 [H8799] But if they will not pass over H2502 [H8803] with you armed, H270 [H8738] they shall have possessions H8432 among H776 you in the land H3667 of Canaan.

31 H1121 And the sons H1410 of Gad H1121 and the sons H7205 of Reuben H6030 [H8799] answered, H559 [H8800] saying, H3068 As the LORD H1696 [H8765] hath said H5650 to thy servants, H6213 [H8799] so will we do.

32 H5168 We will H5674 [H8799] pass over H2502 [H8803] armed H6440 at the face of H3068 the LORD H776 into the land H3667 of Canaan, H272 that the possession H5159 of our inheritance H5676 on this side H3383 Jordan may be ours.

33 H4872 And Moses H5414 [H8799] gave H1121 to them, even to the sons H1410 of Gad, H1121 and to the sons H7205 of Reuben, H2677 and to half H7626 the tribe H4519 of Manasseh H1121 the son H3130 of Joseph, H4467 the kingdom H5511 of Sihon H4428 king H567 of the Amorites, H4467 and the kingdom H5747 of Og H4428 king H1316 of Bashan, H776 the land, H5892 with its cities H1367 within the borders, H5892 even the cities H5439 of the surrounding H776 land.

34 H1121 And the sons H1410 of Gad H1129 [H8799] built H1769 Dibon, H5852 and Ataroth, H6177 and Aroer,

35 H5855 And Atroth, Shophan, H3270 and Jaazer, H3011 and Jogbehah,

36 H1039 And Bethnimrah, H1028 and Bethharan, H4013 fortified H5892 cities: H1448 and folds H6629 for sheep.

37 H1121 And the sons H7205 of Reuben H1129 [H8804] built H2809 Heshbon, H500 and Elealeh, H7156 and Kirjathaim,

38 H5015 And Nebo, H1186 and Baalmeon, H8034 (their names H4142 [H8716] being changed, H7643 ) and Shibmah: H7121 [H8799] and gave H8034 other names H5892 to the cities H1129 [H8804] which they built.

39 H1121 And the sons H4353 of Machir H1121 the son H4519 of Manasseh H3212 [H8799] went H1568 to Gilead, H3920 [H8799] and took H3423 [H8686] it, and dispossessed H567 the Amorite who was in it.

40 H4872 And Moses H5414 [H8799] gave H1568 Gilead H4353 to Machir H1121 the son H4519 of Manasseh; H3427 [H8799] and he dwelt in it.

41 H2971 And Jair H1121 the son H4519 of Manasseh H1980 [H8804] went H3920 [H8799] and took H2333 its small towns, H7121 [H8799] and called H2334 them Havothjair.

42 H5025 And Nobah H1980 [H8804] went H3920 [H8799] and took H7079 Kenath, H1323 and its villages, H7121 [H8799] and called H5025 it Nobah, H8034 after his own name.
