The people are fuel for the fire, and no one spares anyone else. ²⁰ They slice off what is on the right hand, but they will still be hungry. In the end they will even eat the flesh of their own arms (offspring) (turn upon themselves). ²¹ Manasseh will feed on Ephraim, Ephraim will feed on Manasseh, and both will devour Judah. But even then Jehovah’s anger will not be satisfied. His hand is still poised to unleash his power.

Cu toate acestea, mînia Lui nu se potoleşte, şi mîna Lui este tot întinsă. ¹⁸ Căci răutatea arde ca un foc, care mănîncă mărăcini şi spini, aprinde desişul pădurii, din care se înalţă stîlpi de fum. ¹⁹ De mînia Domnului oştirilor, ţara parcă ar fi aprinsă, şi poporul este ca ars de foc; nimeni nu cruţă pe fratele său, ²⁰ fiecare jăfuieşte în dreapta, şi rămîne flămînd, mănîncă în stînga, şi nu se satură. La urmă îşi mănîncă fiecare carnea braţului său: ²¹ Manase mănîncă pe Efraim, Efraim pe Manase, şi amîndoi împreună pe Iuda. Cu toate acestea, mînia Lui nu se potoleşte, şi mîna Lui este tot întinsă.

Ukrainian⁽ⁱ⁾ ⁹ Попадали цегли, а ми побудуємо з каменя тесаного, сікомори позрубувано, та замінимо їх кедрами! ¹⁰ Та над ним Господь зміцнив противників Реціна, а його ворогів нацькував: ¹¹ Арама попереду, а филистимлян позаду, і пожерли Ізраїля цілою пащею... При цьому всьому не відвернувсь Його гнів, і витягнена ще рука Його! ¹² Та народ не звернувся до Того, Хто вразив його, і не шукали Господа Саваота... ¹³ Тому то Господь відсік від Ізраїля голову й хвіст, пальму й очеретину за одного дня. ¹⁴ Старий та поважаний це та голова, а пророк, що навчає неправди, це хвіст. ¹⁵ І сталося, що поводатарі цього народу зробилися звідниками, і гинуть проваджені ними. ¹⁶ Тому то його юнаками радіти не буде Господь, а до сиріт його й його вдів милосердя не матиме, бо кожен безбожний й злочинець, і злобне всі уста говорять. При цьому всьому не відвернувсь Його гнів, і витягнена ще рука Його!... ¹⁷ Бо злоба горить, як огонь, пожирає тернину й будяччя, і палає по запустах лісу, і крутяться вверх стовпи диму... ¹⁸ Від лютости Господа Саваота земля загориться, і стане народ, як пожива огню, і не пощадить жоден брата свого!... ¹⁹ І різати буде праворуч, та буде голодний, і жертиме зліва, але не насититься, кожен жертиме тіло рамена свого: ²⁰ Манасія Єфрема, а Єфрем Манасію, разом обоє на Юду... При цьому всьому не відвернувсь Його гнів, і витягнена ще рука Його!... ²¹
