Job 4

ABP_Strongs(i)
  1 G5274 And undertaking, G1161   G* Eliphaz G3588 the G* Temanite G3004 says,
  2 G1487 If G2983 we take G2980 to speak G4314 to G1473 you, G2872 will you tire? G2479 But the strength G1161   G4487 of your words, G1473   G5100 who G5297 shall endure?
  3 G1487 For since G1063   G1473 you G3560 admonished G4183 many, G2532 and G5495 [2 the hands G772 3of the weak G3870 1comforted],
  4 G770 [3 the ones being weak G5037 1 and also G1817 2raised up] G4487 with words, G1119 [5in knees G5037 1and G101 4 to the ones powerless G2294 3courage G4060 2you invested],
  5 G3568 but now G1161   G2240 [2comes G1909 3upon G1473 4you G4192 1misery], G2532 and G680 touched G1473 you; G1473 and now you G4704 are hurried.
  6 G4220 Is it G3756 not G3588 that G5401 your fear G1473   G1510.2.3 is G1722 in G877 folly, G2532 and G3588   G1680 your hope, G1473   G2532 and G3588 the G2549 evil G3588   G3598 of your way? G1473
  7 G3403 Do you remember G3767 then G5100 who G1510.6 being G2513 pure G622 was destroyed? G2228 or G4219 when G228 the true ones G3649.2 [2entirely from the root G622 1were destroyed]?
  8 G2596 As G3739 in which G5158 manner G1492 I beheld G3588 the ones G722 plowing G3588 the G824 unnatural places, G3588 then the G1161   G4687 ones sowing G1473 them G3601 [2griefs G2325 1shall harvest] G1438 for themselves.
9 G575 By G4366.2 the order G2962 of the lord G622 they shall perish, G575 and by G1161   G4151 the breath G3709 of his anger G1473   G853 they shall be obliterated.
10 G4598.2 The strength G3023 of the lion, G5456 and the voice G1161   G3001.1 of the lioness, G1064.1 and the prancing G1161   G1404 of dragons G4570 shall be extinguished.
  11 G3463.3 The small lion G3643.4 is destroyed G3844 by G3588   G3361 not G2192 having G2339 game; G4661.1 and the cubs G1161   G3023 of lions G3007 forsook G240 one another.
  12 G4314 [2to G1473 3me G1161 1And] G2980 it was spoken G2977.1 clandestinely G1722 in G2829 stealth; G4220 shall G3756 not G1209 [3receive G1473 1my G3588   G3775 2ear] G1808.1 extraordinary things G3844 by G1473 him,
  13 G1722 in G1602.1 amazement G575 from G3705 [3vision G1473 1my G3563.1 2nightly] G1968 falling G5401 fear G1909 upon G444 men?
  14 G5424.1 But a shuddering awe G1161   G1473 met with me, G4876   G2532 and G5156 trembling, G2532 and G3171 [4greatly G1473 1my G3588   G3747 2bones G4952.3 3quaked].
  15 G2532 And G4151 a spirit G1909 [2upon G4383 3my face G1473   G1904 1came], G5425 [6shuddered G1161 1and G1473 2my G2359 3hair G2532 4and G4561 5flesh].
  16 G450 I rose up, G2532 and G3756 knew not; G1921   G1492 I saw G2532 and G3756 [3no G1510.7.3 2was G3444 1there] appearance G4253 before G3788 my eyes, G1473   G237.1 but only G838.1 a breeze; G2532 and G5456 [2a voice G191 1I heard], saying,
  17 G5100 For what, G1063   G3361 Shall G2513 [3pure G1510.8.3 2be G1027.1 1a mortal] G1726 before G3588 the G2962 lord ? G2228 or G575 [3from G3588   G2041 4his works G1473   G273 2 be blameless G435 1 shall a man]?
  18 G1487 If G2596 [2even G3816 4his servants G1473   G3756 1he does not G4100 3trust], G2596 and even G1161   G32 considers his angels G1473   G4646 as crooked G5100 in what G1962.1 he thinks about,
  19 G3588 then the ones G1161   G2730 dwelling in G3614 houses G4080.1 of clay, G1537 of G3739 whom G2532 also G1473 we G1537 [2from out of G3588 3the G1473 4same G4081 5mortar G1510.2.4 1are] -- G3817 he smites G1473 them G4597 [2of a moth G5158 1in the manner].
  20 G2532 And G575 from G4405.1 morning G2193 until G2073 evening G3765 [2no longer G1510.2.6 1they are]; G3844 by G3588 their G3361 not G1410 being able G1473 [3themselves G1438 1to help themselves G997   G622 2they] perish.
  21 G4900.2 You raised up together G3588   G5274.1 their vestige G1722 in G1473 them; G622 they perished G3844 by G3588   G3361 [2not G2192 3having G1473 1their] G4678 wisdom.

  1 H464 Then Eliphaz H8489 the Temanite H6030 [H8799] answered H559 [H8799] and said,
2 H5254 [H8765] If we test H1697 to speak H3811 [H8799] with thee, wilt thou be grieved? H3201 [H8799] but who can H6113 [H8800] restrain H4405 from speaking?
3 H3256 [H8765] Behold, thou hast instructed H7227 many, H2388 [H8762] and thou hast strengthened H7504 the weak H3027 hands.
  4 H4405 Thy words H6965 [H8686] have raised H3782 [H8802] him that was falling, H553 [H8762] and thou hast strengthened H3766 [H8802] the feeble H1290 knees.
5 H935 [H8799] But now it hath come H3811 [H8799] upon thee, and thou faintest; H5060 [H8799] it toucheth H926 [H8735] thee, and thou art troubled.
6 H3374 Is not this thy fear, H3690 thy confidence, H8615 thy hope, H8537 and the uprightness H1870 of thy ways?
  7 H2142 [H8798] Remember, H6 [H8804] I pray thee, who ever perished, H5355 being innocent? H375 or where H3477 were the righteous H3582 [H8738] hidden?
  8 H7200 [H8804] Even as I have seen, H2790 [H8802] they that plow H205 nothingness, H2232 [H8802] and sow H5999 wickedness, H7114 [H8799] reap the same.
9 H5397 By the blast H433 of God H6 [H8799] they perish, H7307 and by the wind H639 of his nostrils H3615 [H8799] are they consumed.
10 H7581 The roaring H738 of the lion, H6963 and the voice H7826 of the roaring lion, H8127 and the teeth H3715 of the young lions, H5421 [H8738] are broken.

  12 H1697 Now a thing H1589 [H8792] was secretly brought H241 to me, and my ear H3947 [H8799] received H8102 a whisper of it.
13 H5587 In thoughts H2384 from the visions H3915 of the night, H8639 when deep sleep H5307 [H8800] falleth H582 on men,
  14 H6343 Fear H7122 [H8804] came H7461 upon me, and trembling, H7230 which made all H6106 my bones H6342 [H8689] to shake.
  15 H7307 Then a spirit H2498 [H8799] passed H6440 before my face; H8185 the hair H1320 of my flesh H5568 [H8762] stood up:
  16 H5975 [H8799] It stood still, H5234 [H8686] but I could not discern H4758 its form: H8544 an image H5869 was before my eyes, H1827 there was silence, H8085 [H8799] and I heard H6963 a voice, saying,
  17 H582 Shall mortal man H6663 [H8799] be more just H433 than God? H1397 shall a man H2891 [H8799] be more pure H6213 [H8802] than his maker?
18 H539 [H8686] Behold, he put no trust H5650 in his servants; H4397 and his messengers H7760 [H8799] he charged H8417 with folly:
19 H637 How much less H7931 [H8802] in them that dwell H1004 in houses H2563 of clay, H3247 whose foundation H6083 is in the dust, H1792 [H8762] who are crushed H6440 at the face of H6211 the moth?
20 H3807 [H8714] They are bruised H1242 from morning H6153 to evening: H6 [H8799] they are lost H5331 for ever H7760 [H8688] without any regarding it.
21 H3499 Doth not their excellency H5265 [H8738] which is in them depart? H4191 [H8799] they die, H2451 even without wisdom.

Coverdale(i) 1 Then answered Eliphas of Theman and sayde vnto him: 2 Yf we begynne to comon with the, peradueture thou wilt be myscontent, but who can witholde himself from speakynge? 3 Beholde, thou hast bene a teacher of many, and hast comforted the weery hondes. 4 Thy wordes haue set vp those that were fallen, thou hast refresshed the weake knees. 5 But now that the plage is come vpon the, thou shreckest awaye: now that it hath touched thyself, thou art faint harted. 6 Where is now thy feare of God, thy stedfastnesse, thy pacience, and the perfectnesse of thy life? 7 Considre (I praye the) who euer peryshed, beynge an innocent? Or, when were the godly destroyed? 8 As for those that plowe wickednesse (as I haue sene myself) and sowe myschefe, they reape ye same. 9 For whe God bloweth vpon them, they perysh, and are destroyed thorow the blast of his wrath. 10 The roaringe of the lyon, the cryenge off the lyonesse, & ye teth off ye lyos whelpes are broke. 11 The greate lyon perysheth, because he ca get no pray and the lyons whelpes are scatred abrode. 12 There is spoken vnto me a thynge in councell, which hath geuen a terrible sounde in myne eare, 13 with a vision in the night, when men are fallen a slepe. 14 Soch feare and drede came vpo me, that all my bones shoke. 15 And when the wynde passed ouer by me, the hayres of my flesh stode vp. 16 Then stode there one before me, whose face I knewe not: an ymage there was, and the wether was still, so that I herde this voyce: 17 Maye a man be iustified before God? Maye there eny man be iudged to be clene, by reason of his owne workes? 18 Beholde, he hath founde vnfaythfulnesse amonge his owne seruauntes, and proude disobedience amonge his angels. 19 How moch more the shal they (that dwell in houses of claye, whose foundacion is but earth) be moth eaten? 20 They shalbe destroyed from the mornynge vnto the euenynge: yee they shall perish, or euer they be awarre: 21 and be taken awaye so clene, that none of the shall remayne, but be deed, or euer they be awarre off it.
MSTC(i) 1 Then answered Eliphaz the Temanite and said unto him, 2 "If we begin to commune with thee, peradventure thou wilt be discontent; but who can withhold himself from speaking? 3 Behold, thou hast been a teacher of many, and hast comforted the weary hands. 4 Thy words have set up those that were fallen, thou hast refreshed the weak knees. 5 But now that the plague is come upon thee, thou shrinkest away: now that it hath touched thyself, thou art faint hearted. 6 Where is now thy fear of God, thy steadfastness, thy patience, and the perfectness of thy ways? 7 "Consider, I pray thee: who ever perished being an innocent? Or, when were the godly destroyed? 8 For, as I have proved by experience, they that plow iniquity and sow wretchedness, reap the same. 9 With the blast of God they perish, and with the breath of his anger are they consumed away. 10 The roaring of the lion, the voice of the lioness, and the teeth of the lion's whelps are broken. 11 The lion perisheth, for lack of prey, and the lion's whelps are scattered abroad. 12 "And unto me came the word secretly, and mine ear hath received a little thereof. 13 In the fantasies and thoughts of the visions of the night, when sleep cometh on men: 14 Fear came upon me, and dread, and made all my bones to shake. 15 And when the wind passed by before my presence it made the hairs of my flesh stand up. 16 He stood there, and I knew not his face. An image there was, before mine eyes, and in the stillness heard I a voice. 17 'Shall man be more just than God? Or shall man be purer than his maker? 18 Behold, he hath found unfaithfulness among his own servants, and proud disobedience among his angels. 19 How much more then shall they that dwell in houses of clay, whose foundation is but earth: which shall be consumed by the moth? 20 They shall be destroyed from morning unto the evening: yea, they shall perish everlastingly, and no man think thereon. 21 Is not their dignity taken away with them? They shall die - and not in wisdom.'
Matthew(i) 1 Then answered Eliphas the Themanyte and said vnto him: 2 Yf we beginne to commen with the peraduenture thou wilt be dyscontent, but who can withhold him selfe from speakinge? 3 Behold, thou hast bene a teacher of manye, and hast comforted the wery handes. 4 Thy wordes haue set vp those that were fallen, thou haste refreshed the weake knees. 5 But nowe that the plage is come vpon the thou shrenkest awaye: now that it hath touched thy self, thou arte faynt harted. 6 Is not this thy feare, thy stedfastnesse, thy pacience, and the perfectnesse of thy wayes? 7 Consydre (I praye the) whoeuer peryshed beynge an innocent? Or shall man be purer then his maker? 18 Behold there is no trust to his seruauntes, and in his aungelles hath he founde frowardnes. 19 How moche moare in them that dwell in houses of claye whose foundacion is but earth, which shalbe consumed by the Moth. 20 They shalbe smytten from the mornynge vnto the euenyng yee they shall perysh euerlastynglye, and no man thincke theron. 21 Is not their dignitie taken awaye with them, they shall dye and not in wysdome.
Great(i) 1 And Eliphas the Themanyte answered, and sayde: 2 Yf we begynne to commen with the, wylt thou be discontent? but who can withhold him selfe from speakinge? 3 Behold, thou hast bene a chastener of many, and hast comforted the weery handes. 4 Thy wordes haue set vp those that were fallen, thou hast refresshed the weake, knees. 5 But now that the plage is come vpon the, thou art greued: now that it hath touched thy selfe, thou art faynt harted. 6 Is not this thy feare, thy stedfastnesse, thy pacience, and the perfectnesse of thy wayes? 7 Consydre (I praye the) whoeuer perysshed beynge an innocent? Or, when were the godly destroyed? 8 For (as I haue proued by experience) they that plowe iniquytie, & sowe wretchednesse, reape the same. 9 With the blast of God they perish, and with the breth of hys nastrels are they consumed awaye. 10 The roaryng of the lyon, and the voyce of the lyon, & the teeth of the lyons whelpes are pulled out. 11 The lyon perissheth for lacke of praye, and the lyons whelpes are scatered abrode. 12 And vnto me came the worde secretly, & myne eare hath receaueth a lytell therof. 13 In the thoughtes and visyons of the night (when slepe commeth on men) 14 feare came vpon me, and drede, which made all my bones to shake. 15 The wynde passed by, before my presence, and made the heares of my flesh to stande vp. 16 He stode there, and I knew not hys face, an ymage ther was before myne eyes, and in the stylnesse hearde I a voyce. 17 Shall man be more iust than God? Or shall a man be purer than hys maker? 18 Beholde, He founde no treuth in hys seruauntes, and in hys aungels ther was foly. 19 How moch more in them that dwell in houses of claye, and whose foundacyon is but dust: which shalbe consumed as it were with a Moth? 20 They shalbe smitten from the mornynge vnto the euenyng: yee, they shall perysh for euer, when no man thincketh theron. 21 It is not their royaltye gone awaye with them: they shal dye trulye, and not in wysdome.
Geneva(i) 1 Then Eliphaz the Temanite answered, and sayde, 2 If we assay to commune with thee, wilt thou be grieued? but who can withholde himselfe from speaking? 3 Behold, thou hast taught many, and hast strengthened the wearie hands. 4 Thy wordes haue confirmed him that was falling, and thou hast strengthened the weake knees. 5 But now it is come vpon thee, and thou art grieued: it toucheth thee, and thou art troubled. 6 Is not this thy feare, thy confidence, thy pacience, and the vprightnesse of thy wayes? 7 Remember, I pray thee: who euer perished, being an innocent? or where were the vpright destroyed? 8 As I haue seene, they that plow iniquitie, and sowe wickednesse, reape the same. 9 With the blast of God they perish, and with the breath of his nostrels are they cosumed. 10 The roaring of the Lion, and the voyce of the Lionesse, and the teeth of the Lions whelpes are broken. 11 The Lyon perisheth for lacke of pray, and the Lyons whelpes are scattered abroade. 12 But a thing was brought to me secretly, and mine eare hath receiued a litle thereof. 13 In the thoughtes of ye visions of the night, when sleepe falleth on men, 14 Feare came vpon me, and dread which made all my bones to tremble. 15 And the wind passed before me, and made the heares of my flesh to stande vp. 16 Then stoode one, and I knewe not his face: an image was before mine eyes, and in silence heard I a voyce, saying, 17 Shall man be more iust then God? or shall a man be more pure then his maker? 18 Beholde, he founde no stedfastnesse in his Seruants, and laid follie vpon his Angels. 19 Howe much more in them that dwell in houses of clay, whose foundation is in the dust, which shalbe destroyed before the moth? 20 They be destroyed from the morning vnto the euening: they perish for euer, without regarde. 21 Doeth not their dignitie goe away with them? do they not die, and that without wisdom?

DouayRheims(i) 1 Then Eliphaz, the Themanite, answered, and said: 2 If we begin to speak to thee, perhaps thou wilt take it ill; but who can withhold the words he hath conceived? 3 Behold thou hast taught many, and thou hast strengthened the weary hands: 4 Thy words have confirmed them that were staggering, and thou hast strengthened the trembling knees: 5 But now the scourge is come upon thee, and thou faintest: It hath touched thee, and thou art troubled. 6 Where is thy fear, thy fortitude, thy patience, and the perfection of thy ways? 7 Remember, I pray thee, who ever perished being innocent? or when were the just destroyed? 8 On the contrary, I have seen those who work iniquity, and sow sorrows, and reap them, 9 Perishing by the blast of God, and consumed by the spirit of his wrath. 10 The roaring of the lion, and the voice of the lioness, and the teeth of the whelps of lions, are broken: 11 The tiger hath perished for want of prey, and the young lions are scattered abroad. 12 Now there was a word spoken to me in private, and my ears by stealth, as it were, received the veins of its whisper. 13 In the horror of a vision by night, when deep sleep is wont to hold men, 14 Fear seized upon me, and trembling, and all my bones were affrighted: 15 And when a spirit passed before me, the hair of my flesh stood up. 16 There stood one whose countenance I knew not, an image before my eyes, and I heard the voice, as it were, of a gentle wind. 17 Shall man be justified in comparison of God, or shall a man be more pure than his maker? 18 Behold, they that serve him are not steadfast, and in his angels he found wickedness: 19 How much more shall they that dwell in houses of clay, who have an earthly foundation, be consumed as with the moth? 20 From morning till evening they shall be cut down: and because no one understandeth, they shall perish for ever. 21 And they that shall be left, shall be taken away from them: they shall die, and not in wisdom.

Thomson(i) 1 Here Eliphaz the Thaimianite interrupting him, said, 2 Should frequent replies be made to thee in distress? But o who can bear the vehemence of thy words? 3 For if thou hast instructed many; and strengthened hands which were weak; and raised up with words them who were fainting; 4 and given courage to knees which were strengthless: 5 but now, when trouble hath come upon thee and touched thee, thou art impatient: 6 is not either thy fear grounded on folly; or thy hope? And this calamity the effect of thy conduct? 7 Recollect therefore. Who ever perished, being innocent? Or when were the righteous utterly destroyed? 8 As I have seen men ploughing improper grounds: they who sow such places shall reap sorrows. 9 By the decree of the Lord they shall perish; and by the blast of his ire be utterly consumed. 10 The strength of a lion and the roaring of a lioness and the boastful pride of dragons have been extinguished. 11 The myrmekoleon hath perished for want of food: and young lions have forsaken each other. 12 But had there been any truth in thy words; none of these evils would have happened to thee. 13 Should not my ear receive unusual things coming from him? At a dreadful sound by night, when terror appalleth men, 14 I was seized with a horror and trembling, which gave a violent shog to my bones. 15 A wind indeed blew full in my face, and my hair stood erect and my flesh quivered. 16 I started up, but could perceive nothing: I looked, but there was no form before my eyes. I only heard a sound and a voice, saying: 17 "What! can a mortal be pure before the Lord, or a man by his works be blameless?" 18 If in his servants he placeth not confidence, and in his angels perceiveth some blemish: 19 how should he treat them who dwell in houses of clay, [of which clay we indeed are] but as worms? 20 but from morning till noon: and they are no more. 21 Because they could not help themselves they were destroyed. For he blowed on them and they withered: they perished because they had not wisdom.

Brenton(i) 1 Then Eliphaz the Thaemanite answered and said, 2 Hast thou been often spoken to in distress? but who shall endure the force of thy words? 3 For whereas thou hast instructed many, and hast strengthened the hands of the weak one, 4 and hast supported the failing with words, and hast imparted courage to feeble knees. 5 Yet now that pain has come upon thee, and touched thee, thou art troubled. 6 Is not thy fear founded in folly, thy hope also, and the mischief of thy way? 7 Remember then who has perished, being pure? or when were the true-hearted utterly destroyed? 8 Accordingly as I have seen men ploughing barren places, and they that sow them will reap sorrows for themselves. 9 They shall perish by the command of the Lord, and shall be utterly consumed by the breath of his wrath. 10 The strength of the lion, and the voice of the lioness, and the exulting cry of serpents are quenched. 11 The old lion has perished for want of food, and the lions' whelps have forsaken one another. 12 But if there had been any truth in thy words, none of these evils would have befallen thee. Shall not mine ear receive excellent revelations from him? 13 But as when terror falls upon men, with dread and a sound in the night, 14 horror and trembling seized me, and caused all my bones greatly to shake. 15 And a spirit came before my face; and my hair and flesh quivered. 16 I arose and perceived it not: I looked, and there, was no form before my eyes: but I only heard a breath and a voice, saying, 17 What, shall a mortal be pure before the Lord? or a man be blameless in regard to his works? 18 Whereas he trust not in his servants, and perceives perverseness in his angels. 19 But as for them that dwell in houses of clay, of whom we also are formed of the same clay, he smites them like a moth. 20 And from the morning to evening they no longer exist: they have perished, because they cannot help themselves. 21 For he blows upon them, and they are withered: they have perished for lack of wisdom.

Leeser(i) 1 Then answered Eliphaz the Themanite, and said, 2 If we essay to address a word to thee, wilt thou be wearied? yet who is able to refrain from speaking? 3 Behold, thou hast ere this corrected many, and weak hands thou wast wont to strengthen. 4 Him that stumbled thy words used to uphold, and to sinking knees thou gavest vigor. 5 Yet now, when it cometh to thee, thou art wearied: it toucheth even thee, and thou art terrified. 6 Is not then thy fear of God still thy confidence, thy hope equal to the integrity of thy ways? 7 Remember, I pray thee, who ever perished, being innocent? or where were the righteous destroyed? 8 Even as I have seen, that those who plough wrong-doing, and sow trouble, have to reap the same. 9 Before the breathing of God they perish, and before the breath of his nostrils they come to their end. 10 The roaring of the lion, and the voice of the fierce lion, and the teeth of the young lions, are broken. 11 The old lion perisheth for lack of prey, and the whelps of the lioness have to scatter themselves abroad. 12 But to me a word came by stealth, and my ear took in a scarcely perceptible whisper thereof. 13 In intense thoughts out of visions of the night, when deep sleep falleth on men: 14 Dread came over me, with trembling, and it caused all my bones to shudder. 15 Then flitted a spirit past before my face; the hair of my body stood up: 16 It stood still, but I could not recognize its form; a figure was before my eyes, a slight whisper, then a louder voice I heard, saying, 17 Can a mortal be more righteous than God? or can a man be more pure than his Maker? 18 Behold, in his servants he putteth no trust, and his angels he chargeth with folly: 19 How much less in those that dwell in houses of clay, whose foundation is in the dust, who are crushed till they come to be eaten by the moth? 20 From morning to evening are they broken to pieces: without laying it to heart they perish for ever. 21 Behold, their excellency which is in them is torn away: they die, and this without wisdom.
YLT(i) 1 And Eliphaz the Temanite answereth and saith: — 2 Hath one tried a word with thee? —Thou art weary! And to keep in words who is able? 3 Lo, thou hast instructed many, And feeble hands thou makest strong. 4 The stumbling one do thy words raise up, And bowing knees thou dost strengthen. 5 But now, it cometh in unto thee, And thou art weary; It striketh unto thee, and thou art troubled. 6 Is not thy reverence thy confidence? Thy hope—the perfection of thy ways?
7 Remember, I pray thee, Who, being innocent, hath perished? And where have the upright been cut off? 8 As I have seen—ploughers of iniquity, And sowers of misery, reap it! 9 From the breath of God they perish, And from the spirit of His anger consumed. 10 The roaring of a lion, And the voice of a fierce lion, And teeth of young lions have been broken. 11 An old lion is perishing without prey, And the whelps of the lioness do separate.
12 And unto me a thing is secretly brought, And receive doth mine ear a little of it. 13 In thoughts from visions of the night, In the falling of deep sleep on men, 14 Fear hath met me, and trembling, And the multitude of my bones caused to fear. 15 And a spirit before my face doth pass, Stand up doth the hair of my flesh; 16 It standeth, and I discern not its aspect, A similitude is over-against mine eyes, Silence! and a voice I hear: 17 `Is mortal man than God more righteous? Than his Maker is a man cleaner? 18 Lo, in His servants He putteth no credence, Nor in His messengers setteth praise.' 19 Also—the inhabitants of houses of clay, (Whose foundation is in the dust, They bruise them before a moth.) 20 From morning to evening are beaten down, Without any regarding, for ever they perish. 21 Hath not their excellency been removed with them? They die, and not in wisdom!
JuliaSmith(i) 1 And Eliphaz the Temanite will answer and say, 2 Trying the word to thee shalt thou be weary? who shall be able to with hold in speaking? 3 Behold, thou didst instruct many, and thou wilt strengthen the weak hands. 4 Thy words will raise up the weak and thou wilt strengthen the bent knees. 5 But now it shall come to thee and thou wilt be wearied; it will touch even to thee, and thou wilt tremble. 6 Is not thy fear, thy confidence, thy hope, and the integrity of thy ways? 7 Remember now, who perished, he being innocent? and where were the upright cut off? 8 According to what I saw, they ploughing iniquity and sowing labor shall reap it 9 By the breath of God they shall perish, and from the spirit of his anger they shall be finished. 10 The roaring of the lion, and the voice of the lion, and the teeth of the young lions were broken. 11 The lion perished from failure of prey, and the sons of the lioness shall be scattered. 12 And a word shall be brought to me by stealth, and mine ear will take a transient sound from it 13 In thoughts, from visions of the night, in the falling of deep sleep upon men, 14 Fear met me, and trembling, and caused the multitude of my bones to tremble. 15 And the spirit will glide before my face; the hair of my flesh will stand erect: 16 It will stand, and I shall not recognize its appearance: a form before mine eyes; I shall hear stillness and a voice: 17 Shall a man be just above God? If a man shall be pure above him making him? 18 Behold, in his servants he will not trust, and upon his messengers he will set folly: 19 Also those dwelling in houses of clay which their foundation in the dust, being crushed before the moth. 20 From morning to evening they will be struck; from not setting to superintend they will perish. 21 Did not their remainder in them remove? Shall a man be pure before his Maker? 18 Behold, He putteth no trust in His servants, and His angels He chargeth with folly; 19 How much more them that dwell in houses of clay, whose foundation is in the dust, who are crushed before the moth! 20 Betwixt morning and evening they are shattered; they perish for ever without any regarding it. 21 Is not their tent-cord plucked up within them? They die, and that without wisdom.'
Rotherham(i) 1 Then responded Eliphaz the Temanite, and said:–– 2 If one attempt a word unto thee, wilt thou be impatient? But, to restrain speech, who, can endure? 3 Lo! thou hast admonished many, and, slack hands, hast thou been wont to uphold: 4 Him that was stumbling, have thy words raised up, and, sinking knees, hast thou strengthened. 5 But, now, it cometh upon thee, and thou despairest, It smiteth even thee, and thou art dismayed. 6 Is not, thy reverence, thy confidence? And is not, thy hope, the very integrity of thy ways?
7 Remember, I pray thee, who, being innocent, hath perished, or when, the upright, have been cut off. 8 So far as I have seen, They who plow for iniquity and sow misery, reap the same: 9 By the blast of GOD, they perish, And, by the breath of his nostrils, are they consumed: 10 [Notwithstanding] the roaring of the lion, and the noise of the howling lion, yet, the teeth of the fierce lions, are broken: 11 The strong lion perishing for lack of prey, Even the whelps of the lioness, are scattered.
12 But, unto me, something was brought by stealth,––and mine ear caught a whispering of the same: 13 When there were thoughts, from visions of the night,––When deep sleep falleth upon men, 14 Dread, came upon me, and trembling, The multitude of my bones, it put in dread: 15 Then, a spirit, over my face, floated along, The hair of my flesh bristled–up: 16 It stood still, but I could not distinguish its appearance, I looked, but there was no form before mine eyes,––A whispering voice, I heard:–– 17 Shall, mortal man, be more just than GOD? Or a man be more pure than, his Maker? 18 Lo! in his own servants, he trusteth not, and, his own messengers, he chargeth with error: 19 How much more the dwellers in houses of clay, which, in the dust, have their foundation, which are crushed sooner than a moth: 20 Betwixt morning and evening, are they broken in pieces, With none to save, they utterly perish: 21 Is not their tent–rope within them, torn away? They die, disrobed of wisdom!
CLV(i) 1 Then Eliphaz the Temanite answered and said: 2 If someone tries a word with you, would you tire? Yet who can restrain from declarations? 3 Behold, you have disciplined many, And you always fortified the slacking hands. 4 Your declarations raised the one stumbling, And you made the bowing knees resolute. 5 But now it is coming on you, and you tire; It is touching unto you, and you panic. 6 Is not your pious fear your confidence, And your flawless ways your expectation? 7 Remember, I pray, who that is innocent perishes? And where then are the upright suppressed? 8 Just as I have seen, those who plow lawlessness And those who sow misery are harvesting it. 9 By the breath of Eloah are they perishing, And by the spirit of His nostrils are they being finished. 10 There is the roaring of the lion and the voice of the black lion, Yet the teeth of the sheltered lions are broken out;" 11 The long-maned lion is perishing from lack of prey, And the cubs of the lioness are parted away. 12 Now a word was brought stealthily to me, And my ear took hold of a little buzz of it. 13 In disquieting thoughts from visions of the night, In that stupor which falls on mortals, 14 Alarm befell me and quivering, And it made the multitude of my bones afraid. 15 Then a spirit passed on before my face; The hair of my flesh bristled. 16 Something stood there, yet I could not recognize its appearance; A representation was in front of my eyes; It was still, and I heard a voice. 17 Is a mortal more righteous than Eloah? Or is a master more pure than His Maker? 18 Behold, if He places no faith in His servants, And He charges His messengers with impropriety, 19 How much more so those who tabernacle in houses of clay, Whose foundation is in the soil? Forces crush them like a moth. 20 From morning to evening they are being pounded; Without being regarded, they perish permanently. 21 Has not their tent-cord been lugged out from them? They die, but not with wisdom.
BBE(i) 1 And Eliphaz the Temanite made answer and said, 2 If one says a word, will it be a weariness to you? but who is able to keep from saying what is in his mind? 3 Truly, you have been a helper to others, and you have made feeble hands strong; 4 He who was near to falling has been lifted up by your words, and you have given strength to bent knees. 5 But now it has come on you and it is a weariness to you; you are touched by it and your mind is troubled. 6 Is not your fear of God your support, and your upright way of life your hope? 7 Have you ever seen destruction come to an upright man? or when were the god-fearing ever cut off? 8 What I have seen is that those by whom trouble has been ploughed, and evil planted, get the same for themselves. 9 By the breath of God destruction takes them, and by the wind of his wrath they are cut off. 10 Though the noise of the lion and the sounding of his voice, may be loud, the teeth of the young lions are broken. 11 The old lion comes to his end for need of food, and the young of the she-lion go wandering in all directions. 12 A word was given to me secretly, and the low sound of it came to my ears. 13 In troubled thoughts from visions of the night, when deep sleep comes on men, 14 Fear came on me and shaking, and my bones were full of trouble; 15 And a breath was moving over my face; the hair of my flesh became stiff: 16 Something was present before me, but I was not able to see it clearly; there was a form before my eyes: a quiet voice came to my ears, saying: 17 May a man be upright before God? or a man be clean before his Maker? 18 Truly, he puts no faith in his servants, and he sees error in his angels; 19 How much more those living in houses of earth, whose bases are in the dust! They are crushed more quickly than an insect; 20 Between morning and evening they are completely broken; they come to an end for ever, and no one takes note. 21 If their tent-cord is pulled up, do they not come to an end, and without wisdom?
MKJV(i) 1 And Eliphaz the Temanite answered: 2 Shall one try a word with you, you who are weary? ELI PHAZ ANSWERS
And Eli Phaz the Temaniy answers and says, 2 If one tests a word with you, you weary; but who can refrain himself from utterances? 3 Behold, you instructed many and you strengthened the weak hands; 4 your utterances raised him who falters and you strengthened the kneeling knees. 5 But now it comes on you, and you weary; it touches you, and you terrify. 6 Is not this your awe, your confidence, your hope and the integrity of your ways? 7 Remember, I pray you, whoever destructs, being innocent? or, Where are the straight cut off? 8 Even as I see, they who plow mischief and seed toil, harvest thus. 9 By the breath of Elohah, they destruct and by the spirit/wind of his nostrils, they finish off. 10 The roaring of the lion and the voice of the roaring lion and the teeth of the whelps - all are pulled. 11 Without prey, the old lion destructs, and the whelps of the roaring lion separate. 12 And by stealth, a word is brought to me and my ear takes an inkling. 13 In sentiments from the visions of the night, when deep sleep falls on men, 14 dread and trembling confront me - which my abundant bones dread. 15 And a spirit passes in front of my face; the hair of my flesh stands on end; 16 it stands: but I recognize not the visage; a manifestation in front of my eyes: stillness - and I hear a voice, 17 Is mortal man more just than Elohah? The mighty more pure than his Worker? 18 Behold, he puts no trust in his servants; and he sets his angels with braggadocio; 19 yes, they who tabernacle in houses of clay, whose foundation is in the dust crush at the face of the moth 20 - crushed from morning to evening; they destruct in perpetuity without setting: 21 those remaining pull stakes - they die, even without wisdom.

EJ2000(i) 1 ¶ Then Eliphaz, the Temanite, answered and said, 2 If we attempt to commune with thee, thou wilt be grieved. But who can withhold himself from speaking? 3 Behold, thou hast instructed many, and thou hast strengthened the weak hands. 4 Thy words have upheld the one that was falling, and thou hast strengthened the feeble knees. 5 But now that it is come upon thee, thou art grieved; it touches thee, and thou art troubled. 6 Is not this thy fear, thy confidence, thy hope, and the integrity of thy ways? 7 ¶ Remember, I pray thee, who ever perished, being innocent? Or where were the righteous cut off? 8 Even as I have seen, those that plow iniquity and sow wickedness, reap the same. 9 By the breath of God they perish, and by the spirit of his anger they are consumed. 10 The roaring of the lion and the voice of the fierce lion and the teeth of the young lions, are broken. 11 The old lion perishes for lack of prey, and the stout lion’s whelps are scattered abroad. 12 ¶ Now the matter was also hidden from me, but my ear has perceived a little of it. 13 In imaginations of visions of the night, when deep sleep falls upon men, 14 fear came upon me and trembling, which made all my bones to shake. 15 Then a spirit passed before me which caused the hair of my flesh to stand up. 16 A ghost stood in front of me, whose face I did not recognize, and I heard it say, 17 Shall mortal man be more just than God? Shall a man be more pure than his maker? 18 Behold, he put no trust in his slaves, and his angels he charged with folly. 19 How much more with those that dwell in houses of clay, whose foundation is in the dust, who shall be crushed by the moth! 20 They are destroyed from morning to evening; they perish for ever without anyone regarding it. 21 Does their beauty perish with them? They die and do not know.
CAB(i) 1 Then Eliphaz the Temanite answered and said, 2 Have you been often spoken to in distress? But who shall endure the force of your words? 3 For seeing you have instructed many, and have strengthened the hands of the weak one, 4 and have supported the failing with words, and have imparted courage to feeble knees. 5 Yet now that pain has come upon you, and touched you, you are troubled. 6 Is not your fear founded in folly, your hope also, and the mischief of your way? 7 Remember then who has perished, being pure? Or when were the true-hearted utterly destroyed? 8 Accordingly, as I have seen men plowing barren places, and they that sow them will reap sorrows for themselves. 12 But if there had been any truth in your words, none of these evils would have befallen you. Shall not my ear receive excellent revelations from Him? 13 But as when terror falls upon men, with dread and a sound in the night, 14 horror and trembling seized me, and caused all my bones greatly to shake. 15 And a spirit came before my face; and my hair and flesh quivered. 16 I arose and perceived it not. I looked, and there was no form before my eyes: but I only heard a breath and a voice, saying, 17 What, shall a mortal be pure before the Lord? Or a man be blameless in regard to his works? 18 Since he trusts not in his servants, and perceives perverseness in his angels. 19 But as for them that dwell in houses of clay, of whom we also are formed of the same clay, He smites them like a moth. 20 And from the morning to evening they no longer exist — they have perished, because they cannot help themselves. 21 For He blows upon them, and they are withered: they have perished for lack of wisdom.
LXX2012(i) 1 Then Eliphaz the Thaemanite answered and said, 2 Hast you been often spoken to in distress? but who shall endure the force of your words? 3 For whereas you have instructed many, and have strengthened the hands of the weak one, 4 and have supported the failing with words, and have imparted courage to feeble knees. 5 Yet now [that] pain has come upon you, and touched you, you are troubled. 6 Is not your fear [founded] in folly, your hope also, and the mischief of your way? 7 Remember then who has perished, being pure? or when were the true-hearted utterly destroyed? 8 Accordingly as I have seen men plowing barren places, and they that sow them will reap sorrows for themselves. 9 They shall perish by the command of the Lord, and shall be utterly consumed by the breath of his wrath. 10 The strength of the lion, and the voice of the lioness, and the exulting cry of serpents are quenched. 11 The old lion has perished for lack of food, and the lions' whelps have forsaken one another. 12 But if there had been any truth in your words, none of these evils would have befallen you. Shall not mine ear receive excellent [revelations] from him? 13 But [as when] terror falls upon men, with dread and a sound in the night, 14 horror and trembling seized me, and caused all my bones greatly to shake. 15 And a spirit came before my face; and my hair and flesh quivered. 16 I arose and perceived it not: I looked, and there, was no form before my eyes: but I only heard a breath and a voice, [saying], 17 What, shall a mortal be pure before the Lord? or a man be blameless in regard to his works? 18 Whereas he trust not in his servants, and perceives perverseness in his angels. 19 But [as for] them that dwell in houses of clay, of whom we also are formed of the same clay, he smites them like a moth. 20 And from the morning to evening they no longer exist: they have perished, because they can’t help themselves. 21 For he blows upon them, and they are withered: they have perished for lack of wisdom.
NSB(i) 1 ELIPHAZ THE TEMANITE REPLIED TO JOB: 2 »If someone tries to talk to you, will you become impatient? But who can keep from talking? 3 »Look, you have instructed many people. When hands were weak, you made them strong. 4 »When someone stumbled, you lifted him up with your words. When knees were weak, you gave them strength. 5 »But trouble comes to you, and you are impatient. It touches you, and you panic. 6 »Does your respect for God give you confidence and your lifetime of integrity give you hope? 7 »Now think about this: Which innocent person ever died an untimely death? Find me a decent person who has been destroyed. 8 »When I saw those who plowed wickedness and planted misery, they gathered its harvest. 9 »God destroys them with his breath and kills them with a blast of his anger. 10 »The roar of the lion and the growl of the ferocious lion are loud. The young lions have had their teeth knocked out. 11 »The old lions die without any prey to eat, and the cubs of the lioness are scattered.« 12 Eliphaz of Teman continued: »I was told something secretly and heard something whispered in my ear. 13 »I am with disturbing thoughts from visions in the night, when deep sleep falls on people. 14 »Fear and trembling came over me, and all my bones shook. 15 »A spirit passed in front of me. It made my hair stand on end. 16 »Something stood there. I could not tell what it was. A vague image was in front of my eyes. I heard a soft voice say: 17 »Can any mortal be righteous to God? Can any human being be pure to his maker? 18 »You see God does not trust his own servants. He accuses his angels of making mistakes. 19 »How much more will he accuse those who live in clay houses that have their foundation in the dust? Those houses can be crushed quicker than a moth! 20 »From morning to evening, they are shattered. They will disappear forever without anyone noticing. 21 »Have the ropes of their tent been loosened? Will they die without wisdom?«
ISV(i) 1 Eliphaz: the Innocent Don’t SufferIn reply, Eliphaz from Teman answered: 2 “Will you get offended if somebody tries to talk to you? Who can keep from speaking at a time like this? 3 Look! You’ve admonished many people, and you’ve strengthened feeble hands. 4 A word from you has supported those who have stumbled, and has strengthened faltering knees. 5 “But now it’s your turn, and you’re the one who is worn out! Now it’s striking you, and you’re dismayed! 6 “Your fear of God has been your confidence, hasn’t it? The integrity of your life has been your hope, hasn’t it? 7 Now please think: Who has ever perished when they’re innocent? Where have the upright been destroyed? 8 It’s been my experience that those who plow the soil of iniquity and those who sow the seed of trouble will reap their harvest! 9 They perish by the breath of God; they are consumed by the storm that is his anger. 10 “The lioness may roar, and the lion cub may growl; but even the ivory teeth of the full grown lion are broken. 11 Full grown lions die when they cannot find prey; that’s when the lion cubs are scattered. 12 “A message was confided to me; my ear caught a whisper of it. 13 Disquieting thoughts from dreams at night; when deep sleep falls on everyone. 14 A fear fell upon me, along with trembling that caused all my bones to shake in terror. 15 A spirit glided past me and made the hair on my skin to bristle. 16 It remained standing, but I couldn’t recognize its appearance. A form appeared before my eyes; At first there was silence, and then this voice: 17 ‘Can a mortal person be more righteous than God? Or can the purity of the valiant exceed that of his maker?’ 18 “Indeed, since he doesn’t trust his servants, since he charges his angels with error, 19 how much less confidence does he have in those who dwell in houses of clay; who were formed from a foundation in dust and can perish like a moth? 20 They are defeated between morning and evening; they perish forever—and no one notices! 21 Their wealth perishes with them, doesn’t it? They die, and do so without having wisdom, don’t they?”
LEB(i) 1 Then* Eliphaz the Temanite answered and said, 2 "If someone would test a word with you, would you be offended? But* who can refrain from speaking? 3 Look, you have instructed many, and you have strengthened weak hands. 4 Your words have raised up the one who stumbles, and you have strengthened knees giving way. 5 But now it has come to you, and you are worn out; it touches you, and you are horrified. 6 Is not your fear in God your confidence? Is not your hope even* the integrity of your ways? 7 "Think* now, who has perished who is innocent? Or* where are the upright destroyed? 8 Just as I have seen, plowers of mischief and sowers of trouble will reap it. 9 By* the breath of God they perish, and by* the blast of his anger they come to an end. 10 The roar of the lion and the voice of a lion in its prime, and the teeth of the young lions are broken. 11 The lion is perishing without* prey, and the lion's whelps are scattered. 12 "And a word came stealing to me, and my ear received the whisper from it. 13 Amid troubling thoughts from night visions, at the falling of deep sleep on men, 14 dread met me, and trembling, and it made many of my bones shake. 15 And a spirit glided before my face; the hair of my flesh* bristled. 16 It stood still, but* I could not recognize its appearance; a form was before* my eyes; there was a hush, and I heard a voice: 17 'Can a human being be more righteous than God, or can a man be more pure than his Maker? 18 Look, he does not trust in his servants and he charges his angels with error. 19 How much more dwellers in clay houses, whose foundation is in the dust? They are crushed like a moth. 20 Between morning and evening* they are destroyed; without anyone regarding it they perish forever. 21 Is not their tent cord pulled up within them? They die, but* not in* wisdom.'
BSB(i) 1 Then Eliphaz the Temanite replied: 2 “If one ventures a word with you, will you be wearied? Yet who can keep from speaking? 3 Surely you have instructed many, and have strengthened their feeble hands. 4 Your words have steadied those who stumbled; you have braced the knees that were buckling. 5 But now trouble has come upon you, and you are weary. It strikes you, and you are dismayed. 6 Is your reverence not your confidence, and the uprightness of your ways your hope? 7 Consider now, I plead: Who, being innocent, has ever perished? Or where have the upright been destroyed? 8 As I have observed, those who plow iniquity and those who sow trouble reap the same. 9 By the breath of God they perish, and by the blast of His anger they are consumed. 10 The lion may roar, and the fierce lion may growl, yet the teeth of the young lions are broken. 11 The old lion perishes for lack of prey, and the cubs of the lioness are scattered. 12 Now a word came to me secretly; my ears caught a whisper of it. 13 In disquieting visions in the night, when deep sleep falls on men, 14 fear and trembling came over me and made all my bones shudder. 15 Then a spirit glided past my face, and the hair on my body bristled. 16 It stood still, but I could not discern its appearance; a form loomed before my eyes, and I heard a whispering voice: 17 ‘Can a mortal be more righteous than God, or a man more pure than his Maker? 18 If God puts no trust in His servants, and He charges His angels with error, 19 how much more those who dwell in houses of clay, whose foundations are in the dust, who can be crushed like a moth! 20 They are smashed to pieces from dawn to dusk; unnoticed, they perish forever. 21 Are not their tent cords pulled up, so that they die without wisdom?’

MLV(i) 1 Then Eliphaz the Temanite answered and said, 2 If a man tries to speak with you, will you be grieved? But who can withhold himself from speaking? 3 Behold, you have instructed many and you have strengthened the weak hands. 4 Your words have upheld him who was falling and you have made firm the feeble knees.
5 But now it comes to you and you faint. It touches you and you are troubled.
6 Is not your fear of God your confidence, the integrity of your ways your hope? 7 I beseech you, remember those who perished, being innocent? Or where were the upright cut off?
8 According to what I have seen, those who plow wickedness and sow trouble, reap the same. 9 By the breath of God they perish and by the blast of his anger they are consumed. 10 The roaring of the lion and the voice of the fierce lion and the teeth of the young lions, are broken. 11 The old lion perishes for lack of prey and the cubs of the lioness are scattered abroad.
12 Now a thing was secretly brought to me and my ear received a whisper of it. 13 In thoughts from the visions of the night, when deep sleep falls on men, 14 fear came upon me and trembling, which made all my bones to shake. 15 Then a spirit passed before my face; the hair of my flesh stood up. 16 It stood still, but I could not discern the appearance of it. A form was before my eyes.
There was silence and I heard a voice, saying, 17 Shall mortal man be more just than God? Shall a man be more pure than his maker? 18 Behold, he puts no trust in his servants and he charges his messengers with error.
19 How much more those who dwell in houses of clay, whose foundation is in the dust, who are crushed before the moth! 20 Between morning and evening they are destroyed. They perish forever without any regarding it. 21 Is not their tent-cord plucked up within them? They die and that without wisdom.

And where have the upright been cut off? 8 Just as I have seen, those who plow lawlessness And those who sow misery are harvesting it. 9 By the breath of God they perish, and by the blast of his anger they are consumed. 10 The lion roareth, and the fierce lion howleth - yet the teeth of the young lions are broken. 11 The old lion perisheth for lack of prey, and the whelps of the lioness are scattered. 12 Now a thing was secretly brought to me; my ear received a whisper of it. 13 In imaginations of visions of the night, when deep sleep falls upon men, 14 fear and trembling met me, and made my many bones dread. 15 A spirit glided past me and made the hair on my skin to bristle. 16 It stood still, but I could not tell the form of it. An image was before my eyes; silence; then I heard a voice, 17 Can a mortal be more righteous than God? or can a man be more pure than his Maker? 18 Look, he does not trust in his servants and he charges his angels with error. 19 How much more, those who dwell in houses of clay, whose foundation is in the dust, who are crushed before the moth! 20 Between morning and evening they are destroyed; without anyone regarding it they perish forever. 21 "Have the ropes of their tent been loosened?

DarbyFR(i) 1

3 He aquí, tú enseñabas a muchos, y las manos flacas corroborabas.
8 Iz iskustva zborim: nesrećom tko ore i nevolju sije, nju će i požeti.
BKR(i) 1 Jemuž odpovídaje Elifaz Temanský, řekl: 2 Počneme-li mluviti s tebou, neponeseš-liž toho těžce? 4 Padajícího pozdvihovals řečmi svými, a kolena zemdlená jsi zmocňoval. 5 Nyní pak, jakž toto přišlo na tebe, těžce to neseš, a jakž tě dotklo, předěšen jsi. 6 Nebylo-liž náboženství tvé nadějí tvou, a upřímost cest tvých očekáváním tvým? 10 Řvání lva a hlas lvice a zubové mladých lvíčat setříni bývají.

Kaj kie virtuloj estis ekstermitaj? 16 Staris bildo antaux miaj okuloj, sed mi ne povis rekoni gxian aspekton; Estis silento, kaj mi ekauxdis vocxon, dirantan: 17 CXu homo estas pli justa ol Dio?
21 Eikö heidän jälkeenjääneensä pois oteta? he kuolevat, vaan ei viisaudessa.
9 Jumalan henkäyksestä he hukkuvat, hänen vihansa hengestä he häviävät. He rusentuvat kuin koiperhonen; 20 ennenkuin aamu ehtooksi muuttuu, heidät muserretaan. Kenenkään huomaamatta he hukkuvat ainiaaksi. 21 Eikö niin: heidän telttanuoransa irroitetaan, ja he kuolevat, viisaudesta osattomina.'"
Haitian(i) 1 Elifaz, moun Teman an, pran lapawòl, li di konsa: 2 -Jòb, si m' pale avè ou, ou p'ap fache, vye frè? 9 Lè Bondye fache, li soufle sou yo, yo mouri. Lè van tanpèt Bondye a leve, yo disparèt. 10 Mechan yo rele kou lyon, yo gwonde kou bèt sovaj. Men, Bondye fèmen bouch yo, li kase dan nan bouch yo. 11 Yo mouri tankou lyon ki pa jwenn bèt pou yo manje. Tout pitit yo gaye nan bwa. 12 Yon lè, mwen tande Bondye t'ap pale tou dousman nan zòrèy mwen. Mwen pa t' fin tande nèt sa li t'ap di. 13 Tankou yon move rèv nan mitan lannwit, li mete yon bann vye lide nan tèt mwen. M' pa ka dòmi tèlman mwen pè. 14 Mwen pran tranble, mwen santi yon frison mache nan tout kò m'. Tout zo nan kò m' ap krake. 15 Yon souf pase bò figi m', tout cheve nan tèt mwen kanpe. 16 Mwen rete konsa mwen wè yon moun kanpe devan m'.

9 Bagai badai, begitulah murka Allah membinasakan mereka hingga punah! 10 Orang jahat mengaum dan meraung, bagaikan singa mereka menggerung. Tetapi Allah membungkam mereka serta mematahkan gigi-giginya. 11 Mereka mati seperti singa kekurangan makanan, sehingga anak-anaknya bercerai-berai tak keruan. 15 Angin sepoi menyentuh wajahku, maka tegaklah bulu romaku.
Italian(i) 1 ED Elifaz Temanita rispose, e disse: 2 Se noi imprendiamo a parlarti, ti sarà egli molesto?

PBG(i) 1 Tedy odpowiedział Elifas Temańczyk, i rzekł: 2 Jeźli będziemy mówili z tobą, nie będzie ci to przykro? Ale któż się może od mówienia zatrzymać? 3 Otoś ich wiele uczył, i ręceś mdłe potwierdzał. 4 Upadającego wspierały mowy twoje, a kolana zemdlone posilałeś. 10 Ryk lwi, i głos lwicy, i zęby lwiąt wytrącają.
Portuguese(i) 1 Então respondeu Elifaz, o temanita, e disse: 2 Se alguém intentar falar-te, enfadarte-ás?
