22 H6256 And it came to pass at that time, H40 that Abimelech H6369 and Phichol H8269 the chief captain H6635 of his host H559 [H8799] spoke H85 to Abraham, H559 [H8800] saying, H430 God H6213 [H8802] is with thee in all that thou doest:
23 H7650 [H8734] Now therefore swear H2008 to me here H430 by God H8266 [H8799] that thou wilt not deal falsely H5209 with me, nor with my son, H5220 nor with my son's son: H2617 but according to the mercy H6213 [H8804] that I have done H6213 [H8799] to thee, thou shalt do H776 to me, and to the land H1481 [H8804] in which thou hast sojourned.
  24 H85 And Abraham H559 [H8799] said, H7650 [H8735] I will swear.
  25 H85 And Abraham H3198 [H8689] reproved H40 Abimelech H182 because H875 of a well H4325 of water, H40 which Abimelech's H5650 servants H1497 [H8804] had plucked off.
  26 H40 And Abimelech H559 [H8799] said, H3045 [H8804] I know H6213 [H8804] not who hath done H1697 this thing: H3808 neither H5046 [H8689] didst thou tell H3808 me, neither H8085 [H8804] yet have I heard H1115 of it, but H3117 to day.
  27 H85 And Abraham H3947 [H8799] took H6629 sheep H1241 and oxen, H5414 [H8799] and gave H40 them to Abimelech; H8147 and both of them H3772 [H8799] made H1285 a testament.
28 H85 And Abraham H5324 [H8686] set H7651 seven H3535 ewe lambs H6629 of the flock by themselves.
29 H40 And Abimelech H559 [H8799] said H85 to Abraham, H2008 What H7651 mean these seven H3535 ewe lambs H5324 [H8689] which thou hast set by themselves?

But according to the kindness that I have done to you, you shall do to me, and to the land in which you have lived as a foreigner." 24 And Abraham said, "I swear." 25 Abraham complained to Abimelech because of a water well, which Abimelech's servants had violently taken away. 26 Abimelech said, "I do not know who has done this thing. Neither did you tell me, neither did I hear of it, until today." 27 Abraham took sheep and cattle, and gave them to Abimelech, and the two of them made a covenant. 28 Abraham set seven ewe lambs of the flock by themselves. 29 Abimelech said to Abraham, "What do these seven ewe lambs which you have set by themselves mean?" 30 He said, "You shall take these seven ewe lambs from my hand, that it may be a witness to me, that I have dug this well." 31 Therefore he called that place Beersheba, because they both swore there. 32 So they made a covenant at Beersheba. Abimelech rose up with Phicol, the commander of his army, and they returned into the land of the Philistines.

LXX2012(i) 22 And it came to pass at that time that Abimelech spoke, and Ochozath his friend, and Phichol the chief captain of his host, to Abraam, saying, God is with you in all things, whatever you may do. 23 Now therefore swear to me by God that you will not injure me, nor my seed, nor my name, but according to the righteousness which I have performed with you you shall deal with me, and with the land in which you have sojourned. 24 And Abraam said, I will swear. 25 And Abraam reproved Abimelech because of the wells of water, which the servants of Abimelech took away. 26 And Abimelech said to him, I know not who has done this thing to you, neither did you tell it me, neither heard I it but only today. 27 And Abraam took sheep and calves, and gave them to Abimelech, and both made a covenant. 28 And Abraam set seven ewe-lambs by themselves. 29 And Abimelech said to Abraam, What are these seven ewe-lambs which you have set alone? 30 And Abraam said, You shall receive the seven ewe-lambs of me, that they may be for me as a witness, that I dug this well. 31 Therefore he named the name of that place, The Well of the Oath, for there they both swore. 32 And they made a covenant at the well of the oath. NSB(i) 22 Abimelech and Phicol, the commander of his army, spoke to Abraham. They said: »God is with you in all that you do. 23 »Swear to me here by God that you will not deal falsely with me or with my offspring or with my posterity. Consider the kindness that I have shown to you. Please show it to me and to the land in which you have sojourned.« 24 Abraham said: »I swear it.« 25 Abraham complained to Abimelech because of the well of water that the servants of Abimelech had seized. 26 Abimelech said: »I do not know who has done this thing. Abimelech and Phicol, the commander of his army, arose and returned to the land of the Philistines.
ISV(i) 22 A Covenant with AbimelechAbout that time, Abimelech and Phicol, the commander of his army, told Abraham, “God is with you in everything that you’re doing. 23 Therefore swear an oath here by God that you won’t deal falsely with me, my sons, or my descendants. Just as I’ve dealt graciously with you, won’t you do so with me and with the land in which you live as a foreigner?”
24 And Abraham replied, “I agree!” 25 But then Abraham complained to Abimelech about a well of water that Abimelech’s servants had seized.
26 “I don’t know who did this thing,” Abimelech replied. “You didn’t report this to me, and I didn’t hear about it until today.”
27 So Abraham took sheep and oxen and presented them to Abimelech, and the two of them made a covenant. 28 Then Abraham set aside seven ewe lambs, 29 so Abimelech asked Abraham, “What is the meaning of these seven ewe lambs that you have set aside?”
30 He replied, “You are to accept from me these seven ewe lambs as a witness that I have dug this well.” 31 Therefore that place was called Beer-sheba, because the two of them swore an oath. 32 So after they had made a covenant in Beer-sheba, Abimelech and Phicol, the commander of his army, left and returned to Philistine territory.
LEB(i) 22 And it happened that at that time, Abimelech and Phicol, the commander of his army, said to Abraham, "God is with you, in all that you do. 23 So now, swear to me here by God that you will not deal with me falsely, or with my descendants, or my posterity. According to the kindness that I have done to you, you shall pledge to do with me and with the land where you have dwelled as an alien." 24 And Abraham said, "I swear." 25 Then Abraham complained to Abimelech on account of the well of water that servants of Abimelech had seized. 26 And Abimelech said, "I do not know who did this thing, neither did you tell me, nor have I heard of it except for today." 27 And Abraham took sheep and cattle and gave them to Abimelech. BSB(i) 22 At that time Abimelech and Phicol the commander of his army said to Abraham, “God is with you in all that you do. 23 Now, therefore, swear to me here before God that you will not deal falsely with me or my children or descendants. You did not tell me, so I have not heard about it until today.” 27 So Abraham brought sheep and cattle and gave them to Abimelech, and the two men made a covenant. 28 Abraham separated seven ewe lambs from the flock, 29 and Abimelech asked him, “Why have you set apart these seven ewe lambs?” 30 He replied, “You are to accept the seven ewe lambs from my hand as my witness that I dug this well.” 31 So that place was called Beersheba, because it was there that the two of them swore an oath. 32 After they had made the covenant at Beersheba, Abimelech and Phicol the commander of his army got up and returned to the land of the Philistines.

25 I przymawiał Abraham Abimelechowi o studnią wody, którą mu byli gwałtem odjęli słudzy Abimelechowi. 26 I rzekł Abimelech: Nie wiem kto by to uczynił, nawet i tyś mi nie oznajmił, i jam nie słyszał o tem dopiero dziś. 27 Nabrał tedy Abraham owiec i wołów, i dał Abimelechowi, i uczynili oba przymierze. 28 I postawił Abraham siedmioro owiec z stada osobno. 29 Tedy Abimelech rzekł do Abrahama: Na cóż to siedmioro owiec, któreś postawił osobno?
