  16 H5971 And the people H6030 [H8799] answered H559 [H8799] and said, H2486 Be it far from us H5800 [H8800] that we should forsake H3068 the LORD, H5647 [H8800] to serve H312 other H430 gods;
17 H3068 For the LORD H430 our God, H5927 [H8688] he it is that brought us H1 and our fathers H776 out of the land H4714 of Egypt, H1004 from the house H5650 of bondage, H6213 [H8804] and who did H1419 those great H226 signs H5869 in our eyes, H8104 [H8799] and preserved H1870 us in all the way H1980 [H8804] in which we went, H5971 and among all the people H7130 through H5674 [H8804] whom we passed:
18 H3068 And the LORD H1644 [H8762] drove out H6440 from the face of H5971 us all the people, H567 even the Amorites H3427 [H8802] who dwelt H776 in the land: H5647 [H8799] therefore will we also serve H3068 the LORD; H430 for he is our God.
19 H3091 And Joshua H559 [H8799] said H5971 to the people, H3201 [H8799] Ye cannot H5647 [H8800] serve H3068 the LORD: H6918 for he is an holy H430 God; H7072 he is a jealous H410 God; H5375 [H8799] he will not forgive H6588 your revolts H2403 nor your sins.
20 H5800 [H8799] If ye forsake H3068 the LORD, H5647 [H8804] and serve H5236 foreign H430 gods, H7725 [H8804] then he will turn H7489 [H8689] and do you harm, H3615 [H8765] and consume H310 you, after H3190 [H8689] that he hath done you good.
21 H5971 And the people H559 [H8799] said H3091 to Joshua, H5647 [H8799] Nay; but we will serve H3068 the LORD.
22 H3091 And Joshua H559 [H8799] said H5971 to the people, H5707 Ye are witnesses H977 [H8804] against yourselves that ye have chosen H3068 you the LORD, H5647 [H8800] to serve H559 [H8799] him. And they said, H5707 We are witnesses.

He hath brought up us and our fathers out of Egypt, and preserved us all the way we went, and among all the nations through which we passed, 18 and the Lord hath driven out from before us the Amorites, and all the nations who dwelt in this land; therefore we will serve none but the Lord; for he is our God. 19 And Joshua said to the people, You may not be able to serve the Lord, because he is the Holy God, and will be zealous. He will not bear with your sins and your iniquities. 20 When you forsake the Lord, and serve other gods, he will come and afflict you; and consume you, proportionally to the good he hath done you. 21 And the people said to Joshua, Nay, we will serve none but the Lord. 22 Then Joshua said to the people, You are witnesses against yourselves that you have chosen the Lord to serve him. 23 Now therefore put away the strange gods which are among you, and incline your heart to the Lord God of Israel. 24 And the people said to Joshua, We will serve the Lord, and hearken to his voice.

As for my family and me, we will serve Jehovah.’« 16 The people replied: »We would never leave Jehovah to serve other gods! 17 »Jehovah our God brought our fathers and us out of slavery in Egypt. We saw the miracles he performed. He kept us safe wherever we went among all the nations through which we passed. 18 »As we advanced to this land, Jehovah drove out all the Amorites who lived here. We also will serve Jehovah. He is our God!« 19 Joshua said to the people: »You may not be able to serve Jehovah. He is a holy God and will not forgive your sins. He will tolerate no rivals, 20 and if you leave him to serve foreign gods, he will turn against you and punish you. He will destroy you, even though he was good to you before.« 21 The people said to Joshua: »No! We will serve Jehovah!« 22 Joshua replied: »You are your own witnesses to the fact that you have chosen to serve Jehovah.« They said: »We are witnesses!« 23 »Remove the foreign gods you have.« He demanded: »Pledge your loyalty to Jehovah, the God of Israel.« 24 The people said to Joshua: »We will serve Jehovah our God. ISV(i) 15 If you think it’s the wrong thing for you to serve the LORD, then choose for yourselves today whom you will serve—the gods whom your ancestors served on the other side of the Euphrates River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose territories you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD.”
16 The Response of the PeopleIn response, the people said, “Far be it from us that we should abandon the LORD to serve other gods, 17 since the LORD our God is the one who brought us and our ancestors up from the land of Egypt, from a life of slavery. He did those great things right in front of us, preserving us along the way that we traveled and among all the peoples through whose territory we passed. 18 The LORD expelled all the people before us, including the Amorites who lived in the land. Therefore, we also will serve the LORD, since he is our God.”
19 So Joshua told the people, “You will not be able to serve the LORD, because he is a God of Holiness. He is a jealous God, and he will forgive neither your transgressions nor your sins. 20 If you abandon the LORD and serve foreign deities, then he will turn and do you harm, consuming you after all the good he has done for you.”
21 “No,” the people replied to Joshua. “We will serve the LORD.”
22 Joshua responded, “You are giving testimony against yourselves, that you have chosen to serve the LORD.”
They replied, “We are witnesses!”
23 Joshua said, “Therefore abandon the foreign gods that are among you, and turn your hearts to the LORD, the God of Israel.”
24 The people replied, “We will serve the LORD our God and obey his voice.”
LEB(i) 15 But if it is bad in your eyes to serve Yahweh, choose for yourselves today whom you want to serve, whether it is the gods that your ancestors* served beyond the river,* or the gods of the Amorites* in whose land you are living; but as for me and my household, we will serve Yahweh." 16 And the people answered and said, "Far be it from us that we would forsake Yahweh to serve other gods, 17 for Yahweh our God brought us and our ancestors* from the land of Egypt, from the house of slavery, and did these great signs before our eyes. He protected us along the entire way that we went, and among all the peoples through whose midst we passed. 18 And Yahweh drove out all the people before us, the Amorites* who live* in the land. We will serve Yahweh, for he is our God." 19 But Joshua said to the people, "You cannot serve Yahweh, for he is a holy and jealous God; he will not forgive your transgressions or your sins. 20 If you forsake Yahweh and serve foreign gods, he will turn and bring disaster to you; he will destroy you after he has done good to you." 21 And the people said to Joshua, "No, we will serve Yahweh." 22 And Joshua said to the people, "You are witnesses against yourselves that you have chosen for yourselves to serve Yahweh." And they said, "We are witnesses." 23 He said, "Remove the foreign gods that are in your midst, and incline your hearts to Yahweh the God of Israel." 24 And the people said to Joshua, "We will serve Yahweh our God, and we will listen to his voice."
BSB(i) 15 But if it is unpleasing in your sight to serve the LORD, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your fathers served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living. As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD!” 16 The people replied, “Far be it from us to forsake the LORD to serve other gods! 17 For the LORD our God brought us and our fathers out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery, and performed these great signs before our eyes. He also protected us throughout our journey and among all the nations through which we traveled. 18 And the LORD drove out before us all the nations, including the Amorites who lived in the land. We too will serve the LORD, because He is our God!” 19 But Joshua said to the people, “You are not able to serve the LORD, for He is a holy God; He is a jealous God; He will not forgive your rebellion or your sins. 20 If you forsake the LORD and serve foreign gods, He will turn and bring disaster on you and consume you, even after He has been good to you.” 21 “No!” replied the people. “We will serve the LORD!” 22 Then Joshua told them, “You are witnesses against yourselves that you have chosen to serve the LORD.” “We are witnesses!” they said. 23 “Now, therefore,” he said, “get rid of the foreign gods among you and incline your hearts to the LORD, the God of Israel.” 24 So the people said to Joshua, “We will serve the LORD our God and obey His voice.”

23 Jimž on řekl: Odvrztež tedy nyní bohy cizozemců, kteříž jsou u prostřed vás, a nakloňte srdcí svých k Hospodinu Bohu Izraelskému. 24 Odpověděl lid Jozue: Hospodinu Bohu našemu sloužiti a hlasu jeho poslouchati budeme.

Finnish(i) 15 Jollei teidän kelpaa Herraa palvella, niin valitkaat teillenne tänäpäivänä ketä te palvelette, niitä jumalia, joita teidän isänne palvelivat sillä puolella virtaa, eli Amorilaisten jumalia, joiden maassa te asutte. Ja he sanoivat: me olemme todistajat.
He vastasivat: "Olemme". 23 Hän sanoi: "Niin poistakaa nyt vieraat jumalat, joita on teidän keskuudessanne, ja taivuttakaa sydämenne Herran, Israelin Jumalan, puoleen". 24 Kansa vastasi Joosualle: "Herraa, meidän Jumalaamme, me palvelemme, ja hänen ääntänsä me kuulemme".

No!

16 I odpowiedział lud mówiąc: Nie daj Boże, abyśmy mieli odstąpić Pana, a służyć bogom cudzym: 17 Albowiem Pan, Bóg nasz, on jest, który nas wywiódł, i ojce nasze z ziemi Egipskiej, z domu niewoli, a który uczynił przed oczyma naszemi te znaki wielkie, i strzegł nas we wszystkiej drodze, którąśmy szli, i między wszystkimi narody, przez któreśmy przeszli; 18 I wypędził Pan wszystkie narody, i Amorejczyka mieszkającego w ziemi przed twarzą naszą. A tak my będziemy służyli Panu; bo on jest Bóg nasz. 19 Tedy rzekł Jozue do ludu: Nie możecie wy służyć Panu; bo Bóg święty jest, Bóg zapalczywy jest, nie przepuści złościom waszym, ani grzechom waszym. 20 Jeźliż opuścicie Pana, a będziecie służyli bogom cudzym, obróci się, i utrapi was, i zniszczy was, choć wam przedtem dobrze czynił. 22 Tedy rzekł Jozue do ludu: Świadkami będziecie sami przeciwko, sobie, iżeście sobie obrali Pana, abyście mu służyli; a oni rzekli: Świadkami jesteśmy. 23 I rzekł: Terazże znieście bogi cudze, którzy są w pośrodku was, a nakłońcie serca wasze ku Panu, Bogu Izraelskiemu.
