  3 H4428 And the king H3478 of Israel H559 [H8799] said H5650 to his servants H3045 [H8804] , Know H7433 ye that Ramoth H1568 in Gilead H2814 [H8688] is ours, and we are still H3947 [H8800] , and take H3027 it not out of the hand H4428 of the king H758 of Syria?
  4 H559 [H8799] And he said H3092 to Jehoshaphat H3212 [H8799] , Wilt thou go H4421 with me to battle H7433 H1568 to Ramothgilead H3092 ? And Jehoshaphat H559 [H8799] said H4428 to the king H3478 of Israel H3644 , I am as thou H5971 art, my people H5971 as thy people H5483 , my horses H5483 as thy horses.
  5 H3092 And Jehoshaphat H559 [H8799] said H4428 to the king H3478 of Israel H1875 [H8798] , Enquire H1697 , I pray thee, at the word H3068 of the LORD H3117 to day.
  6 H4428 Then the king H3478 of Israel H6908 0 gathered H5030 the prophets H6908 [H8799] together H702 , about four H3967 hundred H376 men H559 [H8799] , and said H3212 [H8799] to them, Shall I go H7433 H1568 against Ramothgilead H4421 to battle H2308 [H8799] , or shall I forbear H559 [H8799] ? And they said H5927 [H8798] , Go up H136 ; for the Lord H5414 [H8799] shall deliver H3027 it into the hand H4428 of the king.
  7 H3092 And Jehoshaphat H559 [H8799] said H5030 , Is there not here a prophet H3068 of the LORD H5750 besides H1875 [H8799] , that we may enquire of him?
  8 H4428 And the king H3478 of Israel H559 [H8799] said H3092 to Jehoshaphat H259 , There is yet one H376 man H4321 , Micaiah H1121 the son H3229 of Imlah H1875 [H8800] , by whom we may enquire H3068 of the LORD H8130 [H8804] : but I hate H5012 [H8691] him; for he doth not prophesy H2896 good H7451 concerning me, but evil H3092 . And Jehoshaphat H559 [H8799] said H4428 , Let not the king H559 [H8799] say so.
  9 H4428 Then the king H3478 of Israel H7121 [H8799] called H259 an H5631 officer H559 [H8799] , and said H4116 [H8761] , Hasten H4321 here Micaiah H1121 the son H3229 of Imlah.
  10 H4428 And the king H3478 of Israel H3092 and Jehoshaphat H4428 the king H3063 of Judah H3427 [H8802] sat H376 each H3678 on his throne H3847 [H8794] , having put on H899 their robes H1637 , in a threshingfloor H6607 at the entrance H8179 of the gate H8111 of Samaria H5030 ; and all the prophets H5012 [H8693] prophesied H6440 before them.
  11 H6667 And Zedekiah H1121 the son H3668 of Chenaanah H6213 [H8799] made H7161 him horns H1270 of iron H559 [H8799] : and he said H559 [H8804] , Thus saith H3068 the LORD H5055 [H8762] , With these shalt thou push H758 the Syrians H3615 [H8763] , until thou hast consumed them.
  12 H5030 And all the prophets H5012 [H8737] prophesied H559 [H8800] so, saying H5927 [H8798] , Go up H7433 H1568 to Ramothgilead H6743 [H8685] , and prosper H3068 : for the LORD H5414 [H8804] shall deliver H4428 it into the king's H3027 hand.
  13 H4397 And the messenger H1980 [H8804] that went H7121 [H8800] to call H4321 Micaiah H1696 [H8765] spoke H559 [H8800] to him, saying H1697 , Behold now, the words H5030 of the prophets H2896 declare good H4428 to the king H259 with one H6310 mouth H1697 : let thy word H1697 , I pray thee, be like the word H259 of one H1696 [H8765] of them, and speak H2896 that which is good.
  14 H4321 And Micaiah H559 [H8799] said H3068 , As the LORD H2416 liveth H3068 , what the LORD H559 [H8799] saith H1696 [H8762] to me, that will I speak.
  15 H935 [H8799] So he came H4428 to the king H4428 . And the king H559 [H8799] said H4321 to him, Micaiah H3212 [H8799] , shall we go H7433 H1568 against Ramothgilead H4421 to battle H2308 [H8799] , or shall we forbear H559 [H8799] ? And he answered H5927 [H8798] him, Go H6743 [H8685] , and prosper H3068 : for the LORD H5414 [H8804] shall deliver H3027 it into the hand H4428 of the king.
  16 H4428 And the king H559 [H8799] said H6471 to him, How many times H7650 [H8688] shall I adjure H1696 [H8762] thee that thou tell H571 me nothing but that which is true H8034 in the name H3068 of the LORD?
  17 H559 [H8799] And he said H7200 [H8804] , I saw H3478 all Israel H6327 [H8737] scattered H2022 upon the hills H6629 , as sheep H7462 [H8802] that have not a shepherd H3068 : and the LORD H559 [H8799] said H113 , These have no master H7725 [H8799] : let them return H376 every man H1004 to his house H7965 in peace.
  18 H4428 And the king H3478 of Israel H559 [H8799] said H3092 to Jehoshaphat H559 [H8804] , Did I not tell H5012 [H8691] thee that he would prophesy H2896 no good H7451 concerning me, but evil?
  19 H559 [H8799] And he said H8085 [H8798] , Hear H1697 thou therefore the word H3068 of the LORD H7200 [H8804] : I saw H3068 the LORD H3427 [H8802] sitting H3678 on his throne H6635 , and all the host H8064 of heaven H5975 [H8802] standing H3225 by him on his right hand H8040 and on his left.
  20 H3068 And the LORD H559 [H8799] said H6601 [H8762] , Who shall persuade H256 Ahab H5927 [H8799] , that he may go up H5307 [H8799] and fall H7433 H1568 at Ramothgilead H559 [H8799] ? And one said H3541 in this manner H559 [H8802] , and another said H3541 in that manner.
  21 H3318 [H8799] And there came forth H7307 a spirit H5975 [H8799] , and stood H6440 before H3068 the LORD H559 [H8799] , and said H6601 [H8762] , I will persuade him.
  22 H3068 And the LORD H559 [H8799] said H559 [H8799] to him, How? And he said H3318 [H8799] , I will go forth H8267 , and I will be a lying H7307 spirit H6310 in the mouth H5030 of all his prophets H559 [H8799] . And he said H6601 [H8762] , Thou shalt persuade H3201 [H8799] him, and prevail H3318 [H8798] also: go forth H6213 [H8798] , and do so.
  23 H3068 Now therefore, behold, the LORD H5414 [H8804] hath put H8267 a lying H7307 spirit H6310 in the mouth H5030 of all these thy prophets H3068 , and the LORD H1696 [H8765] hath spoken H7451 evil concerning thee.
  24 H6667 But Zedekiah H1121 the son H3668 of Chenaanah H5066 [H8799] went near H5221 [H8686] , and smote H4321 Micaiah H3895 on the cheek H559 [H8799] , and said H335 , Which way H5674 [H8804] went H7307 the Spirit H3068 of the LORD H1696 [H8763] from me to speak to thee?
  25 H4321 And Micaiah H559 [H8799] said H7200 [H8802] , Behold, thou shalt see H3117 in that day H935 [H8799] , when thou shalt go H2315 into an inner H2315 chamber H2247 [H8736] to hide thyself.
  26 H4428 And the king H3478 of Israel H559 [H8799] said H3947 [H8798] , Take H4321 Micaiah H7725 [H8685] , and carry him back H526 to Amon H8269 the governor H5892 of the city H3101 , and to Joash H4428 the king's H1121 son;
  27 H559 [H8804] And say H559 [H8804] , Thus saith H4428 the king H7760 [H8798] , Put H1004 H3608 this man in the prison H398 [H8685] , and feed H3899 him with bread H3906 of affliction H4325 and with water H3906 of affliction H935 [H8800] , until I come H7965 in peace.
  28 H4321 And Micaiah H559 [H8799] said H7725 [H8799] , If thou shalt return H7725 [H8800] at all H7965 in peace H3068 , the LORD H1696 [H8765] hath not spoken H559 [H8799] by me. And he said H8085 [H8798] , Hearken H5971 , O people, each one of you.
  29 H4428 So the king H3478 of Israel H3092 and Jehoshaphat H4428 the king H3063 of Judah H5927 [H8799] went up H7433 H1568 to Ramothgilead.
  30 H4428 And the king H3478 of Israel H559 [H8799] said H3092 to Jehoshaphat H2664 [H8692] , I will disguise H935 [H8800] myself, and enter H4421 into the battle H3847 [H8798] ; but put thou on H899 thy robes H4428 . And the king H3478 of Israel H2664 [H8691] disguised H935 [H8799] himself, and went H4421 into the battle.
  31 H4428 But the king H758 of Syria H6680 [H8765] commanded H7970 his thirty H8147 and two H8269 captains H7393 that had rule over his chariots H559 [H8800] , saying H3898 [H8735] , Fight H6996 neither with small H1419 nor great H4428 , except only with the king H3478 of Israel.
  32 H8269 And it came to pass, when the captains H7393 of the chariots H7200 [H8800] saw H3092 Jehoshaphat H559 [H8804] , that they said H4428 , Surely this is the king H3478 of Israel H5493 [H8799] . And they turned aside H3898 [H8736] to fight H3092 against him: and Jehoshaphat H2199 [H8799] cried out.
  33 H8269 And it came to pass, when the captains H7393 of the chariots H7200 [H8800] perceived H4428 that he was not the king H3478 of Israel H7725 [H8799] , that they turned back H310 from pursuing him.
  34 H376 And a certain man H4900 [H8804] drew H7198 a bow H8537 at a venture H5221 [H8686] , and smote H4428 the king H3478 of Israel H1694 between the joints H8302 of his armour H559 [H8799] : therefore he said H7395 to the driver of his chariot H2015 [H8798] , Turn H3027 thy hand H3318 [H8685] , and carry me out H4264 of the host H2470 [H8717] ; for I am wounded.
  35 H4421 And the battle H5927 [H8799] increased H3117 that day H4428 : and the king H5975 [H8716] was held up H4818 in his chariot H5227 against H758 the Syrians H4191 [H8799] , and died H6153 at evening H1818 : and the blood H3332 [H8799] ran out H4347 of the wound H2436 into the inside H7393 of the chariot.
  36 H5674 [H8799] And there went H7440 a proclamation H4264 throughout the host H935 [H8800] about the setting H8121 of the sun H559 [H8800] , saying H376 , Every man H5892 to his city H376 , and every man H776 to his own country.
  37 H4428 So the king H4191 [H8799] died H935 [H8799] , and was brought H8111 to Samaria H6912 [H8799] ; and they buried H4428 the king H8111 in Samaria.

  39 H3499 Now the rest H1697 of the acts H256 of Ahab H6213 [H8804] , and all that he did H8127 , and the ivory H1004 house H1129 [H8804] which he made H5892 , and all the cities H1129 [H8804] that he built H3789 [H8803] , are they not written H5612 in the book H1697 H3117 of the chronicles H4428 of the kings H3478 of Israel?
  40 H256 So Ahab H7901 [H8799] slept H1 with his fathers H274 ; and Ahaziah H1121 his son H4427 [H8799] reigned in his stead.
  41 H3092 And Jehoshaphat H1121 the son H609 of Asa H4427 [H8804] began to reign H3063 over Judah H702 in the fourth H8141 year H256 of Ahab H4428 king H3478 of Israel.
  42 H3092 Jehoshaphat H7970 was thirty H2568 and five H8141 years H1121 old H4427 [H8800] when he began to reign H4427 [H8804] ; and he reigned H6242 twenty H2568 and five H8141 years H3389 in Jerusalem H517 . And his mother's H8034 name H5806 was Azubah H1323 the daughter H7977 of Shilhi.

  44 H3092 And Jehoshaphat H7999 [H8686] made peace H4428 with the king H3478 of Israel.
  45 H3499 Now the rest H1697 of the acts H3092 of Jehoshaphat H1369 , and his might H6213 [H8804] that he showed H3898 [H8738] , and how he warred H3789 [H8803] , are they not written H5612 in the book H1697 H3117 of the chronicles H4428 of the kings H3063 of Judah?
  46 H3499 And the remnant H6945 of the sodomites H7604 [H8738] , which remained H3117 in the days H1 of his father H609 Asa H1197 [H8765] , he removed H776 from the land.
  47 H4428 There was then no king H123 in Edom H5324 [H8737] : a deputy H4428 was king.
  48 H3092 Jehoshaphat H6213 H6240 [H8804] made H591 ships H8659 of Tharshish H3212 [H8800] to go H211 to Ophir H2091 for gold H1980 [H8804] : but they went H591 not; for the ships H7665 [H8738] were broken H6100 at Eziongeber.
  49 H559 [H8804] Then said H274 Ahaziah H1121 the son H256 of Ahab H3092 to Jehoshaphat H5650 , Let my servants H3212 [H8799] go H5650 with thy servants H591 in the ships H3092 . But Jehoshaphat H14 [H8804] would not.
  50 H3092 And Jehoshaphat H7901 [H8799] slept H1 with his fathers H6912 [H8735] , and was buried H1 with his fathers H5892 in the city H1732 of David H1 his father H3088 : and Jehoram H1121 his son H4427 [H8799] reigned in his stead.
