4 H559 ויאמר Then said H3083 יהונתן Jonathan H413 אל unto H1732 דוד David, H4100 מה Whatsoever H559 תאמר desireth, H5315 נפשׁך thy soul H6213 ואעשׂה׃ I will even do

5 H559 ויאמר said H1732 דוד And David H413 אל unto H3083 יהונתן Jonathan, H2009 הנה Behold, H2320 חדשׁ the new moon, H4279 מחר tomorrow H595 ואנכי and I H3427 ישׁב should not fail to sit H3427 אשׁב should not fail to sit H5973 עם with H4428 המלך the king H398 לאכול at meat: H7971 ושׁלחתני but let me go, H5641 ונסתרתי that I may hide myself H7704 בשׂדה in the field H5704 עד unto H6153 הערב at even. 8 H6213 ועשׂית Therefore thou shalt deal H2617 חסד kindly H5921 על with H5650 עבדך thy servant; H3588 כי for H1285 בברית into a covenant H3068 יהוה of the LORD H935 הבאת thou hast brought H853 את H5650 עבדך thy servant H5973 עמך with H518 ואם thee: notwithstanding, if H3426 ישׁ there be H5771 בי עון in me iniquity, H4191 המיתני slay H859 אתה me thyself; H5704 ועד for H1 אביך me to thy father? 9 H559 ויאמר said, H3083 יהונתן And Jonathan H2486 חלילה Far be it H3588 לך כי from thee: for H518 אם if H3045 ידע H3045 אדע H3588 כי that H3615 כלתה were determined H7451 הרעה evil H5973 מעם by H1 אבי my father H935 לבוא to come H5921 עליך upon H3808 ולא thee, then would not H853 אתה H5046 אגיד׃ I tell

10 H559 ויאמר Then said H1732 דוד David H413 אל to H3083 יהונתן Jonathan, H4310 מי Who H5046 יגיד shall tell H176 לי או me? or H4100 מה what H6030 יענך answer H1 אביך thy father H7186 קשׁה׃ thee roughly?

11 H559 ויאמר said H3083 יהונתן And Jonathan H413 אל unto H1732 דוד David, H1980 לכה Come, H3318 ונצא and let us go out H7704 השׂדה into the field. H3318 ויצאו And they went out H8147 שׁניהם both H7704 השׂדה׃ of them into the field.

12 H559 ויאמר said H3083 יהונתן And Jonathan H413 אל unto H1732 דוד David, H3068 יהוה O LORD H430 אלהי God H3478 ישׂראל of Israel, H3588 כי when H2713 אחקר I have sounded H853 את H1 אבי my father H6256 כעת any time, H4279 מחר about tomorrow H7992 השׁלשׁית the third H2009 והנה and, behold, H2896 טוב good H413 אל toward H1732 דוד David, H3808 ולא not H227 אז and I then H7971 אשׁלח send H413 אליך unto H1540 וגליתי H853 את H241 אזנך׃

14 H3808 ולא And thou shalt not H518 אם only while H5750 עודני yet H2416 חי I live H3808 ולא not: H6213 תעשׂה show H5978 עמדי H2617 חסד me the kindness H3068 יהוה of the LORD, H3808 ולא H4191 אמות׃ that I die

15 H3808 ולא But thou shalt not H3772 תכרת cut off H853 את H2617 חסדך thy kindness H5973 מעם from H1004 ביתי my house H5704 עד forever: H5769 עולם forever: H3808 ולא no, not H3772 בהכרת hath cut off H3068 יהוה when the LORD H853 את H341 איבי the enemies H1732 דוד of David H376 אישׁ every one H5921 מעל H6440 פני H127 האדמה׃ of the earth.

16 H3772 ויכרת made H3083 יהונתן So Jonathan H5973 עם with H1004 בית the house H1732 דוד of David, H1245 ובקשׁ even require H3068 יהוה Let the LORD H3027 מיד at the hand H341 איבי enemies. H1732 דוד׃ of David's

17 H3254 ויוסף again, H3083 יהונתן And Jonathan H7650 להשׁביע to swear H853 את H1732 דוד caused David H160 באהבתו because he loved H853 אתו H3588 כי him: for H160 אהבת him as he loved H5315 נפשׁו his own soul. H157 אהבו׃ he loved

18 H559 ויאמר said H3083 לו יהונתן Then Jonathan H4279 מחר to David, Tomorrow H2320 חדשׁ the new moon: H6485 ונפקדת and thou shalt be missed, H3588 כי because H6485 יפקד will be empty. H4186 מושׁבך׃ thy seat

19 H8027 ושׁלשׁת And thou hast stayed three days, H3381 תרד thou shalt go down H3966 מאד quickly, H935 ובאת and come H413 אל to H4725 המקום the place H834 אשׁר where H5641 נסתרת thou didst hide thyself H8033 שׁם when H3117 ביום when H4639 המעשׂה the business H3427 וישׁבת was and shalt remain H681 אצל by H68 האבן the stone H237 האזל׃ Ezel.

20 H589 ואני And I H7969 שׁלשׁת three H2678 החצים H6654 צדה on the side H3384 אורה will shoot H7971 לשׁלח as though I shot H4307 לי למטרה׃ at a mark.

21 H2009 והנה And, behold, H7971 אשׁלח I will send H853 את H5288 הנער a lad, H1980 לך Go, H4672 מצא find out H853 את H2678 החצים H518 אם If H559 אמר H559 אמר H5288 לנער unto the lad, H2009 הנה Behold, H2678 החצים H4480 ממך on this side H2008 והנה on this side H3947 קחנו of thee, take H935 ובאה them; then come H3588 כי thou: for H7965 שׁלום peace H369 לך ואין to thee, and no H1697 דבר hurt; H2416 חי liveth. H3068 יהוה׃ the LORD

22 H518 ואם But if H3541 כה thus H559 אמר I say H5958 לעלם unto the young man, H2009 הנה Behold, H2678 החצים H4480 ממך beyond H1973 והלאה beyond H1980 לך thee; go thy way: H3588 כי for H7971 שׁלחך hath sent thee away. H3068 יהוה׃ the LORD

23 H1697 והדבר And the matter H834 אשׁר which H1696 דברנו have spoken H589 אני and I H859 ואתה thou H2009 הנה of, behold, H3068 יהוה the LORD H996 ביני between H996 ובינך H5704 עד thee and me forever. H5769 עולם׃ thee and me forever.

24 H5641 ויסתר hid himself H1732 דוד So David H7704 בשׂדה in the field: H1961 ויהי was come, H2320 החדשׁ and when the new moon H3427 וישׁב sat him down H4428 המלך the king H5921 על H413 הלחם H398 לאכול׃ to eat

25 H3427 וישׁב sat H4428 המלך And the king H5921 על upon H4186 מושׁבו his seat, H6471 כפעם as at other times, H6471 בפעם as at other times, H413 אל upon H4186 מושׁב a seat H7023 הקיר by the wall: H6965 ויקם arose, H3083 יהונתן and Jonathan H3427 וישׁב sat H74 אבנר and Abner H6654 מצד side, H7586 שׁאול by Saul's H6485 ויפקד was empty. 31 H3588 כי For H3605 כל as long H3117 הימים as long H834 אשׁר as H1121 בן the son H3448 ישׁי of Jesse H2416 חי liveth H5921 על upon H127 האדמה the ground, H3808 לא shalt not H3559 תכון be established, H859 אתה thou H4438 ומלכותך nor thy kingdom. H6258 ועתה Wherefore now H7971 שׁלח send H3947 וקח and fetch H853 אתו H413 אלי him unto H3588 כי me, for H1121 בן shall surely die. H4194 מות shall surely die. H1931 הוא׃ he

32 H6030 ויען answered H3083 יהונתן And Jonathan H853 את H7586 שׁאול Saul H1 אביו his father, H559 ויאמר and said H413 אליו unto H4100 למה him, Wherefore H4191 יומת shall he be slain? H4100 מה what H6213 עשׂה׃ hath he done?

33 H2904 ויטל cast H7586 שׁאול And Saul H853 את H2595 החנית a javelin H5921 עליו at H5221 להכתו him to smite H3045 וידע knew H3083 יהונתן him: whereby Jonathan H3588 כי that H3617 כלה H1931 היא it H5973 מעם of H1 אביו his father H4191 להמית to slay H853 את H1732 דוד׃ David.

37 H935 ויבא was come H5288 הנער And when the lad H5704 עד to H4725 מקום the place H2678 החצי of the arrow H834 אשׁר which H3384 ירה had shot, H3083 יהונתן Jonathan H7121 ויקרא cried H3083 יהונתן Jonathan H310 אחרי after H5288 הנער the lad, H559 ויאמר and said, H3808 הלוא not H2678 החצי the arrow H4480 ממך beyond H1973 והלאה׃ beyond

38 H7121 ויקרא cried H3083 יהונתן And Jonathan H310 אחרי after H5288 הנער the lad, H4120 מהרה haste, H2363 חושׁה Make speed, H408 אל not. H5975 תעמד stay H3950 וילקט gathered up H5288 נער lad H3083 יהונתן And Jonathan's H853 את H2678 החצי the arrows, H935 ויבא and came H413 אל to H113 אדניו׃ his master.

39 H5288 והנער But the lad H3808 לא not H3045 ידע knew H3972 מאומה any thing: H389 אך only H3083 יהונתן Jonathan H1732 ודוד and David H3045 ידעו knew H853 את H1697 הדבר׃ the matter.

40 H5414 ויתן gave H3083 יהונתן And Jonathan H853 את H3627 כליו his artillery H413 אל unto H5288 הנער lad, H834 אשׁר his H559 לו ויאמר and said H1980 לו לך unto him, Go, H935 הביא carry H5892 העיר׃ to the city.
