Romanian⁽ⁱ⁾ ⁸ Păzeşte-mă ca lumina ochiului, ocroteşte-mă, la umbra aripilor Tale, ⁹ de cei răi, cari mă prigonesc, de vrăjmaşii mei de moarte, cari mă împresoară. ¹⁰ Ei îşi închid inima, au cuvintele semeţe în gură. ¹¹ Se ţin de paşii mei, mă înconjoară chiar, mă pîndesc ca să mă trîntească la pămînt. ¹² Parcă ar fi un leu lacom după pradă, un pui de leu, care stă la pîndă în culcuşul lui. ¹³ Scoală-te, Doamne, ieşi înaintea vrăjmaşului, doboară -l! Izbăveşte-mă de cel rău cu sabia Ta! ¹⁴ Scapă-mă de oameni, cu mîna Ta, Doamne, de oamenii lumii acesteia, cari îşi au partea lor în viaţa aceasta, şi cărora le umpli pîntecele cu bunătăţile Tale. Copiii lor sînt sătui şi prisosul lor îl lasă pruncilor lor.

Ukrainian⁽ⁱ⁾ ⁸ Хорони Ти мене, як зіницю Свою, дочку ока, у тіні Своїх крил заховай Ти мене ⁹ від безбожних, що гублять мене, смертельні мої вороги оточили мене! ¹⁰ Товщем замкнули вони своє серце, уста їхні говорять бундючно. ¹¹ Вороги оточили тепер наші кроки, наставили очі свої, щоб мене повалити на землю... ¹² із них кожен подібний до лева, що шарпати прагне, й як левчук, що сидить в укритті... ¹³ Устань же, о Господи, його попередь, кинь його на коліна! Мечем Своїм душу мою збережи від безбожного, ¹⁴ від людей рукою Своєю, Господи, від людей цього світу, що частка їхня в цьому житті, що Ти скарбом Своїм наповняєш їхнє черево! Ситі їхні сини, останок же свій для дітей вони лишать.
