7 H3316 And Jephthah H559 [H8799] said H2205 to the elders H1568 of Gilead, H8130 [H8804] Did ye not hate H1644 [H8762] me, and drive H1 me out of my father's H1004 house? H935 [H8804] and why have ye come H6887 [H8804] to me now when ye are in distress?

10 H2205 And the elders H1568 of Gilead H559 [H8799] said H3316 to Jephthah, H3068 The LORD H8085 [H8802] be a witness H6213 [H8799] between us, if we do H1697 not so according to thy words.

11 H3316 Then Jephthah H3212 [H8799] went H2205 with the elders H1568 of Gilead, H5971 and the people H7760 [H8799] made H7218 him head H7101 and captain H3316 over them: and Jephthah H1696 [H8762] uttered H1697 all his words H6440 at the face of H3068 the LORD H4709 in Mizpeh.

Той беше син на блудница; а бащата на Ефтай беше Галаад. ² А жената на Галаад му роди синове; и когато синовете на жената пораснаха, те изгониха Ефтай и му казаха: Ти няма да наследиш в бащиния ни дом, защото си син на друга жена. ³ И Ефтай избяга от братята си и живееше в земята Тов; и при Ефтай се събираха безчестни мъже и излизаха с него. ⁴ И след известно време синовете на Амон излязоха да се бият срещу Израил. ⁵ И когато синовете на Амон излязоха да се бият срещу Израил, галаадските старейшини отидоха да доведат Ефтай от земята Тов. ⁶ И казаха на Ефтай: Ела и ни стани водач, за да се бием срещу синовете на Амон! ⁷ Тогава Ефтай каза на галаадските старейшини: Не сте ли вие, които ме намразихте и ме изгонихте от бащиния ми дом? Rodila ga bludnica, a otac mu bijaše Gilead. ² Ali je Gileadu i njegova žena rodila sinove, pa kada su sinovi te žene odrasli, otjeraše Jiftaha govoreći mu: "Nećeš dobiti baštine od našeg oca jer si sin strane žene." ³ Jiftah zato pobježe od svoje braće i naseli se u zemlji Tobu. Ondje se oko njega okupila hrpa beskućnika koji su s njim pljačkali. ⁴ Poslije nekog vremena Amonci zavojštiše na Izraela. ⁵ Kada su Amonci napali Izraela, krenuše gileadske starješine da trže Jiftaha u zemlji Tobu. ⁶ "Hodi", rekoše mu, "budi nam vojvoda da ratujemo protiv Amonaca." ⁷ Ali Jiftah odgovori gileadskim starješinama: "Niste li me vi mrzili i otjerali iz kuće moga oca? Nişte oameni fără căpătîi s-au strîns la Iefta, şi făceau plimbări cu el. ⁴ După cîtva timp, fiii lui Amon au pornit cu război împotriva lui Israel. ⁵ Şi pe cînd fiii lui Amon făceau război cu Israel, bătrînii Galaadului s'au dus să caute pe Iefta din ţara Tob. ⁶ Ei au zis lui Iefta:,,Vino de fii căpetenia noastră, şi să batem pe fiii lui Amon.`` ⁷ Iefta a răspuns bătrînilor Galaadului:,,Nu m'aţi urît voi, şi nu m'aţi izgonit voi din casa tatălui meu? Pentruce veniţi la mine acum cînd sînteţi în strîmtorare?`` ⁸ Bătrînii Galaadului au zis lui Iefta:,,Ne întoarcem la tine acum, ca să mergi cu noi, să baţi pe fiii lui Amon, şi să fii căpetenia noastră, căpetenia tuturor locuitorilor Galaadului.`` ⁹ Iefta a răspuns bătrînilor Galaadului:,,Dacă mă aduceţi înapoi ca să bat pe fiii lui Amon, şi dacă Domnul îi va da înaintea mea, voi fi eu oare căpetenia voastră?`` ¹⁰ Bătrînii Galaadului au zis lui Iefta:,,Domnul să ne audă, şi să judece, dacă nu vom face ce spui.`` ¹¹ Şi Iefta a pornit cu bătrînii Galaadului. Poporul l -a pus în fruntea lui, şi l -a aşezat căpetenie, şi Iefta a spus din nou înaintea Domnului, la Miţpa, toate cuvintele pe cari le rostise. ¹² Iefta a trimes soli împăratului fiilor lui Amon, ca să -i spună:,,Ce ai cu mine de vii împotriva mea să faci război împotriva ţării mele?``

І повиростали сини тієї жінки, та й вигнали Їфтаха, і сказали йому: Не будеш володіти в домі нашого батька, бо ти син іншої жінки! ³ І втік Їфтах перед своїми братами, і осівся в краї Тов. І зібралися до Їфтаха гулящі люди, та й виходили з ним. ⁴ І сталося по часі, і воювали Аммонові сини з Ізраїлем. ⁵ І сталося, як воювали Аммонові сини з Ізраїлем, то пішли ґілеадські старші, щоб забрати Їфтаха з краю Тов. ⁶ І сказали вони до Їфтаха: Іди ж, і будеш нам провідником, і будемо воювати з Аммоновими синами. ⁷ І сказав Їфтах до ґілеадських старших: Чи ж не ви зненавидили мене, і вигнали мене з дому мого батька? І чого ви прийшли до мене тепер, коли ви в біді? ⁸ І сказали ґілеадські старші до Їфтаха: Зате ми тепер вернулися до тебе! І ти піди з нами, і будемо воювати з Аммоновими синами, і станеш нам головою для всіх мешканців ґілеадських. ⁹ І сказав Їфтах до ґілеадських старших: Якщо ви мене вернете воювати з Аммоновими синами, і Господь дасть їх, щоб були побиті передо мною, то чи я стану вам головою? ¹⁰ І сказали ґілеадські старші до Їфтаха: Нехай Господь буде свідком поміж нами, що так, як слово твоє, так зробимо. ¹¹ І пішов Їфтах з ґілеадськими старшими, і народ настановив його собі за голову та провідника, а Їфтах промовляв усі свої слова перед Господнім лицем у Міцпі. ¹² І послав Їфтах послів до царів Аммонових синів, говорячи: Що тобі до мене, що ти прийшов до мене воювати з моїм краєм?
