Judges 11:1-12

  1 H3316 Now Jephthah H1569 the Gileadite H1368 was a mighty man H2428 of valor, H1121 and he was the son H802 of a harlot: H1568 and Gilead H3205 begat H3316 Jephthah.
  2 H1568 And Gilead's H802 wife H3205 bare H1121 him sons; H802 and when his wife's H1121 sons H1431 grew up, H1644 they drove out H3316 Jephthah, H559 and said H5157 unto him, Thou shalt not inherit H1 in our father's H1004 house; H1121 for thou art the son H312 of another H802 woman.
  3 H3316 Then Jephthah H1272 fled H6440 from H251 his brethren, H3427 and dwelt H776 in the land H2897 of Tob: H3950 and there were gathered H7386 vain H582 fellows H3316 to Jephthah, H3318 and they went out with him.
  4 H3117 And it came to pass after a while, H1121 that the children H5983 of Ammon H3898 made war H3478 against Israel.
  5 H1121 And it was so, that, when the children H5983 of Ammon H3898 made war H3478 against Israel, H2205 the elders H1568 of Gilead H3212 went H3947 to fetch H3316 Jephthah H776 out of the land H2897 of Tob;
  6 H559 and they said H3316 unto Jephthah, H3212 Come H7101 and be our chief, H3898 that we may fight H1121 with the children H5983 of Ammon.
  7 H3316 And Jephthah H559 said H2205 unto the elders H1568 of Gilead, H8130 Did not ye hate H1644 me, and drive H1 me out of my father's H1004 house? H935 and why are ye come H6887 unto me now when ye are in distress?
  8 H2205 And the elders H1568 of Gilead H559 said H3316 unto Jephthah, H7725 Therefore are we turned again H1980 to thee now, that thou mayest go H3898 with us, and fight H1121 with the children H5983 of Ammon; H7218 and thou shalt be our head H3427 over all the inhabitants H1568 of Gilead.
  9 H3316 And Jephthah H559 said H2205 unto the elders H1568 of Gilead, H7725 If ye bring me home again H3898 to fight H1121 with the children H5983 of Ammon, H3068 and Jehovah H5414 deliver H6440 them before H7218 me, shall I be your head?
  10 H2205 And the elders H1568 of Gilead H559 said H3316 unto Jephthah, H3068 Jehovah H8085 shall be witness H1697 between us; surely according to thy word H6213 so will we do.
  11 H3316 Then Jephthah H3212 went H2205 with the elders H1568 of Gilead, H5971 and the people H7760 made H7218 him head H7101 and chief H3316 over them: and Jephthah H1696 spake H1697 all his words H6440 before H3068 Jehovah H4709 in Mizpah.
  12 H3316 And Jephthah H7971 sent H4397 messengers H4428 unto the king H1121 of the children H5983 of Ammon, H559 saying, H935 What hast thou to do with me, that thou art come H3898 unto me to fight H776 against my land?
