Ezekiel 20 And it came to pass in the seventh year , in the fifth month, the tenth day of the month , that certain of the elders of Israel came to enquire of the LORD , and sat before me.

3 H1121 Son H120 of man H1696 [H8761] , speak H2205 to the elders H3478 of Israel H559 [H8804] , and say H559 [H8804] to them, Thus saith H136 the Lord H3069 GOD H935 [H8802] ; Are ye come H1875 [H8800] to enquire H2416 of me? As I live H5002 [H8803] , saith H136 the Lord H3069 GOD H1875 [H8735] , I will not be enquired of by you.

4 H8199 [H8799] Wilt thou judge H1121 them, son H120 of man H8199 [H8799] , wilt thou judge H3045 [H8685] them? cause them to know H8441 the abominations H1 of their fathers:

5 H559 [H8804] And say H559 [H8804] to them, Thus saith H136 the Lord H3069 GOD H3117 ; In the day H977 [H8800] when I chose H3478 Israel H5375 [H8799] , and lifted up H3027 my hand H2233 to the seed H1004 of the house H3290 of Jacob H3045 [H8735] , and made myself known H776 to them in the land H4714 of Egypt H5375 [H8799] , when I lifted H3027 up my hand H559 [H8800] to them, saying H3068 , I am the LORD H430 your God;

6 H3117 In the day H5375 [H8804] that I lifted up H3027 my hand H3318 [H8687] to them, to bring them forth H776 from the land H4714 of Egypt H776 into a land H8446 [H8804] that I had searched out H2100 [H8802] for them, flowing H2461 with milk H1706 and honey H6643 , which is the glory H776 of all lands:

7 H559 [H8799] Then said H7993 [H8685] I to them, Cast ye away H376 every man H8251 the abominations H5869 of his eyes H2930 [H8691] , and defile H1544 not yourselves with the idols H4714 of Egypt H3068 : I am the LORD H430 your God.

8 H4784 [H8686] But they rebelled H14 [H8804] against me, and would H8085 [H8800] not hearken H376 to me: they did not every man H7993 [H8689] cast away H8251 the abominations H5869 of their eyes H5800 [H8804] , neither did they forsake H1544 the idols H4714 of Egypt H559 [H8799] : then I said H8210 [H8800] , I will pour out H2534 my fury H3615 [H8763] upon them, to accomplish H639 my anger H8432 against them in the midst H776 of the land H4714 of Egypt.

9 H6213 [H8799] But I wrought H8034 for my name's H2490 [H8736] sake, that it should not be profaned H5869 before H1471 the heathen H8432 , among H5869 whom they were, in whose sight H3045 [H8738] I made myself known H3318 [H8687] to them, in bringing them forth H776 from the land H4714 of Egypt.

10 H3318 [H8686] Therefore I caused them to go forth H776 from the land H4714 of Egypt H935 [H8686] , and brought H4057 them into the wilderness.

11 H5414 [H8799] And I gave H2708 them my statutes H3045 [H8689] , and showed H4941 them my judgments H120 , which if a man H6213 [H8799] doeth H2425 [H8804] , he shall even live in them.

12 H5414 [H8804] Moreover also I gave H7676 them my sabbaths H226 , to be a sign H3045 [H8800] between me and them, that they might know H3068 that I am the LORD H6942 [H8764] that sanctify them.

13 H1004 But the house H3478 of Israel H4784 [H8686] rebelled H4057 against me in the wilderness H1980 [H8804] : they walked H2708 not in my statutes H3988 [H8804] , and they despised H4941 my judgments H120 , which if a man H6213 [H8799] doeth H2425 [H8804] , he shall even live H7676 in them; and my sabbaths H3966 they greatly H2490 [H8765] profaned H559 [H8799] : then I said H8210 [H8800] , I would pour out H2534 my fury H4057 upon them in the wilderness H3615 [H8763] , to consume them.

14 H6213 [H8799] But I wrought H8034 for my name's H2490 [H8736] sake, that it should not be profaned H5869 before H1471 the heathen H5869 , in whose sight H3318 [H8689] I brought them out.

15 H5375 [H8804] Yet also I lifted up H3027 my hand H4057 to them in the wilderness H935 [H8687] , that I would not bring H776 them into the land H5414 [H8804] which I had given H2100 [H8802] them, flowing H2461 with milk H1706 and honey H6643 , which is the glory H776 of all lands;

16 H3988 [H8804] Because they despised H4941 my judgments H1980 [H8804] , and walked H2708 not in my statutes H2490 [H8765] , but profaned H7676 my sabbaths H3820 : for their heart H1980 [H8802] went H310 after H1544 their idols.

17 H5869 Nevertheless my eye H2347 [H8799] spared H7843 [H8763] them from destroying H6213 [H8804] them, neither did I make H3617 an end H4057 of them in the wilderness.

18 H559 [H8799] But I said H1121 to their children H4057 in the wilderness H3212 [H8799] , Walk H2706 ye not in the statutes H1 of your fathers H8104 [H8799] , neither observe H4941 their judgments H2930 [H8691] , nor defile H1544 yourselves with their idols:

19 H3068 I am the LORD H430 your God H3212 [H8798] ; walk H2708 in my statutes H8104 [H8798] , and keep H4941 my judgments H6213 [H8798] , and do them;

20 H6942 [H8761] And hallow H7676 my sabbaths H226 ; and they shall be a sign H3045 [H8800] between me and you, that ye may know H3068 that I am the LORD H430 your God.

21 H1121 However the children H4784 [H8686] rebelled H1980 [H8804] against me: they walked H2708 not in my statutes H8104 [H8804] , neither kept H4941 my judgments H6213 [H8800] to do H120 them, which if a man H6213 [H8799] doeth H2425 [H8804] , he shall even live H2490 [H8765] in them; they profaned H7676 my sabbaths H559 [H8799] : then I said H8210 [H8800] , I would pour out H2534 my fury H3615 [H8763] upon them, to accomplish H639 my anger H4057 against them in the wilderness.

22 H7725 [H8689] Nevertheless I withdrew H3027 my hand H6213 [H8799] , and wrought H8034 for my name's H2490 [H8736] sake, that it should not be profaned H5869 in the sight H1471 of the heathen H5869 , in whose sight H3318 [H8689] I brought them forth.

23 H5375 [H8804] I lifted up H3027 my hand H4057 to them also in the wilderness H6327 [H8687] , that I would scatter H1471 them among the heathen H2219 [H8763] , and disperse H776 them through the countries;

24 H6213 [H8804] Because they had not executed H4941 my judgments H3988 [H8804] , but had despised H2708 my statutes H2490 [H8765] , and had profaned H7676 my sabbaths H5869 , and their eyes H310 were after H1 their fathers H1544 ' idols.

25 H5414 [H8804] Therefore I gave H2706 them also statutes H2896 that were not good H4941 , and judgments H2421 [H8799] by which they should not live;

26 H2930 [H8762] And I polluted H4979 them in their own gifts H5674 [H8687] , in that they caused to pass through H6363 the fire all that openeth H7356 the womb H8074 [H8686] , that I might make them desolate H3045 [H8799] , to the end that they might know H3068 that I am the LORD.

27 H1121 Therefore, son H120 of man H1696 [H8761] , speak H1004 to the house H3478 of Israel H559 [H8804] , and say H559 [H8804] to them, Thus saith H136 the Lord H3069 GOD H1 ; Yet in this your fathers H1442 [H8765] have blasphemed H4603 [H8800] me, in that they have committed H4604 a trespass against me.

28 H935 [H8686] For when I had brought H776 them into the land H5375 [H8804] , for which I lifted up H3027 my hand H5414 [H8800] to give H7200 [H8799] it to them, then they saw H7311 [H8802] every high H1389 hill H5687 , and all the thick H6086 trees H2076 [H8799] , and they offered H2077 there their sacrifices H5414 [H8799] , and there they presented H3708 the provocation H7133 of their offering H7760 [H8799] : there also they made H5207 their sweet H7381 savour H5258 [H8686] , and poured out H5262 there their drink offerings.

29 H559 [H8799] Then I said H1116 to them, What is the high place H935 [H8802] to which ye go H8034 ? And its name H7121 [H8735] is called H1117 Bamah H3117 to this day.

30 H559 [H8798] Therefore say H1004 to the house H3478 of Israel H559 [H8804] , Thus saith H136 the Lord H3069 GOD H2930 [H8737] ; Are ye polluted H1870 after the manner H1 of your fathers H2181 [H8802] ? and commit ye harlotry H310 after H8251 their abominations?

31 H5375 [H8800] For when ye offer H4979 your gifts H1121 , when ye make your sons H5674 [H8687] to pass through H784 the fire H2930 [H8737] , ye pollute H1544 yourselves with all your idols H3117 , even to this day H1875 [H8735] : and shall I be enquired H1004 of by you, O house H3478 of Israel H2416 ? As I live H5002 [H8803] , saith H136 the Lord H3069 GOD H1875 [H8735] , I will not be enquired of by you.

32 H5927 [H8802] And that which cometh H7307 into your mind H559 [H8802] shall not be at all, that ye say H1961 [H8799] , We will be H1471 as the heathen H4940 , as the families H776 of the countries H8334 [H8763] , to serve H6086 wood H68 and stone.

33 H2416 As I live H5002 [H8803] , saith H136 the Lord H3069 GOD H2389 , surely with a mighty H3027 hand H5186 [H8803] , and with an outstretched H2220 arm H2534 , and with fury H8210 [H8803] poured out H4427 [H8799] , will I rule over you:

34 H3318 [H8689] And I will bring you out H5971 from the people H6908 [H8765] , and will gather H776 you out of the countries H6327 [H8738] in which ye are scattered H2389 , with a mighty H3027 hand H5186 [H8803] , and with an outstretched H2220 arm H2534 , and with fury H8210 [H8803] poured out.

35 H935 [H8689] And I will bring H4057 you into the wilderness H5971 of the people H8199 [H8738] , and there will I enter into judgment H6440 with you face H6440 to face.

36 H8199 [H8738] As I entered into judgment H1 with your fathers H4057 in the wilderness H776 of the land H4714 of Egypt H8199 [H8735] , so will I enter into judgment H5002 [H8803] with you, saith H136 the Lord H3069 GOD.

37 H5674 [H8689] And I will cause you to pass H7626 under the rod H935 [H8689] , and I will bring H4562 you into the bond H1285 of the covenant:

38 H1305 [H8804] And I will purge out H4775 [H8802] from among you the rebels H6586 [H8802] , and them that transgress H3318 [H8686] against me: I will bring them forth H776 out of the country H4033 where they sojourn H935 [H8799] , and they shall not enter H127 into the land H3478 of Israel H3045 [H8804] : and ye shall know H3068 that I am the LORD.

39 H1004 As for you, O house H3478 of Israel H559 [H8804] , thus saith H136 the Lord H3069 GOD H3212 [H8798] ; Go H5647 [H8798] ye, serve H376 ye every one H1544 his idols H310 , and after this H8085 [H8802] also, if ye will not hearken H2490 [H8762] to me: but profane H6944 ye my holy H8034 name H4979 no more with your gifts H1544 , and with your idols.

40 H6944 For on my holy H2022 mountain H2022 , on the mountain H4791 of the height H3478 of Israel H5002 [H8803] , saith H136 the Lord H3069 GOD H1004 , there shall all the house H3478 of Israel H776 , all of them in the land H5647 [H8799] , serve H7521 [H8799] me: there will I accept H1875 [H8799] them, and there will I require H8641 your offerings H7225 , and the firstfruits H4864 of your oblations H6944 , with all your holy things.

41 H7521 [H8799] I will accept H5207 you with your sweet H7381 savour H3318 [H8687] , when I bring you out H5971 from the people H6908 [H8765] , and gather H776 you out of the countries H6327 [H8738] in which ye have been scattered H6942 [H8738] ; and I will be sanctified H5869 in you before H1471 the heathen.

42 H3045 [H8804] And ye shall know H3068 that I am the LORD H935 [H8687] , when I shall bring H127 you into the land H3478 of Israel H776 , into the country H5375 [H8804] for which I lifted up H3027 my hand H5414 [H8800] to give H1 it to your fathers.

43 H2142 [H8804] And there shall ye remember H1870 your ways H5949 , and all your doings H2930 [H8738] , in which ye have been defiled H6962 [H8738] ; and ye shall lothe H6440 yourselves in your own sight H7451 for all your evils H6213 [H8804] that ye have committed.

44 H3045 [H8804] And ye shall know H3068 that I am the LORD H6213 [H8800] , when I have wrought H8034 with you for my name's H7451 sake, not according to your wicked H1870 ways H7843 [H8737] , nor according to your corrupt H5949 doings H1004 , O ye house H3478 of Israel H5002 [H8803] , saith H136 the Lord H3069 GOD.

45 H1697 Moreover the word H3068 of the LORD H559 [H8800] came to me, saying,

46 H1121 Son H120 of man H7760 [H8798] , set H6440 thy face H1870 toward H8486 the south H5197 [H8685] , and drop H1864 thy word toward the south H5012 [H8734] , and prophesy H3293 against the forest H5045 of the south H7704 field;

47 H559 [H8804] And say H3293 to the forest H5045 of the south H8085 [H8798] , Hear H1697 the word H3068 of the LORD H559 [H8804] ; Thus saith H136 the Lord H3069 GOD H3341 [H8688] ; Behold, I will kindle H784 a fire H398 [H8804] in thee, and it shall devour H3892 every green H6086 tree H3002 in thee, and every dry H6086 tree H3852 : the blazing H7957 flame H3518 [H8799] shall not be quenched H6440 , and all faces H5045 from the south H6828 to the north H6866 [H8738] shall be burned in it.

48 H1320 And all flesh H7200 [H8804] shall see H3068 that I the LORD H1197 [H8765] have kindled H3518 [H8799] it: it shall not be quenched.

49 H559 [H8799] Then said H162 I, Ah H136 Lord H3069 GOD H559 [H8802] ! they say H4911 [H8764] of me, Doth he not speak H4912 parables?
