Numbers 16:3-50 And they gathered themselves together against Moses and against Aaron , and said unto them, Ye take too much upon you, seeing all the congregation are holy , every one of them, and the LORD is among them: wherefore then lift ye up yourselves above the congregation of the LORD?

4 H4872 And when Moses H8085 heard [H8799] H5307 it, he fell [H8799] H6440 upon his face:

5 H1696 And he spake [H8762] H7141 unto Korah H5712 and unto all his company H559 , saying [H8800] H1242 , Even to morrow H3068 the LORD H3045 will shew [H8686] H6918 who are his, and who is holy H7126 ; and will cause him to come near [H8689] H977 unto him: even him whom he hath chosen [H8799] H7126 will he cause to come near [H8686] unto him.

6 H6213 This do [H8798] H3947 ; Take [H8798] H4289 you censers H7141 , Korah H5712 , and all his company;

7 H5414 And put [H8798] H784 fire H2004 therein H7760 , and put [H8798] H7004 incense H6440 in them before H3068 the LORD H4279 to morrow H376 : and it shall be that the man H3068 whom the LORD H977 doth choose [H8799] H6918 , he shall be holy H7227 : ye take too much H1121 upon you, ye sons H3878 of Levi.

8 H4872 And Moses H559 said [H8799] H7141 unto Korah H8085 , Hear [H8798] H1121 , I pray you, ye sons H3878 of Levi:

9 H4592 Seemeth it but a small thing H430 unto you, that the God H3478 of Israel H914 hath separated [H8689] H5712 you from the congregation H3478 of Israel H7126 , to bring you near [H8687] H5647 to himself to do [H8800] H5656 the service H4908 of the tabernacle H3068 of the LORD H5975 , and to stand [H8800] H6440 before H5712 the congregation H8334 to minister [H8763] unto them?

10 H7126 And he hath brought thee near [H8686] H251 to him, and all thy brethren H1121 the sons H3878 of Levi H1245 with thee: and seek [H8765] H3550 ye the priesthood also?

11 H3651 For which cause H5712 both thou and all thy company H3259 are gathered together [H8737] H3068 against the LORD H175 : and what is Aaron H3885 , that ye murmur [H8686] [H8675] H3885 [H8735] against him?

12 H4872 And Moses H7971 sent [H8799] H7121 to call [H8800] H1885 Dathan H48 and Abiram H1121 , the sons H446 of Eliab H559 : which said [H8799] H5927 , We will not come up [H8799] :

13 H4592 Is it a small thing H3588 that H5927 thou hast brought us up [H8689] H776 out of a land H2100 that floweth [H8802] H2461 with milk H1706 and honey H4191 , to kill [H8687] H4057 us in the wilderness H8323 , except thou make H8323 thyself altogether [H8692] H8323 a prince [H8691] over us?

14 H637 Moreover H935 thou hast not brought [H8689] H776 us into a land H2100 that floweth [H8802] H2461 with milk H1706 and honey H5414 , or given [H8799] H5159 us inheritance H7704 of fields H3754 and vineyards H5365 : wilt thou put out [H8762] H5869 the eyes H582 of these men H5927 ? we will not come up [H8799] .

15 H4872 And Moses H3966 was very H2734 wroth [H8799] H559 , and said [H8799] H3068 unto the LORD H6437 , Respect [H8799] H4503 not thou their offering H5375 : I have not taken [H8804] H259 one H2543 ass H7489 from them, neither have I hurt [H8689] H259 one of them.

16 H4872 And Moses H559 said [H8799] H7141 unto Korah H5712 , Be thou and all thy company H6440 before H3068 the LORD H175 , thou, and they, and Aaron H4279 , to morrow:

17 H3947 And take [H8798] H376 every man H4289 his censer H5414 , and put [H8804] H7004 incense H7126 in them, and bring [H8689] H6440 ye before H3068 the LORD H376 every man H4289 his censer H3967 , two hundred H2572 and fifty H4289 censers H175 ; thou also, and Aaron H376 , each H4289 of you his censer.

18 H3947 And they took [H8799] H376 every man H4289 his censer H5414 , and put [H8799] H784 fire H7760 in them, and laid [H8799] H7004 incense H5975 thereon, and stood [H8799] H6607 in the door H168 of the tabernacle H4150 of the congregation H4872 with Moses H175 and Aaron.

19 H7141 And Korah H6950 gathered [H8686] H5712 all the congregation H6607 against them unto the door H168 of the tabernacle H4150 of the congregation H3519 : and the glory H3068 of the LORD H7200 appeared [H8735] H5712 unto all the congregation.

20 H3068 And the LORD H1696 spake [H8762] H4872 unto Moses H175 and unto Aaron H559 , saying [H8800] ,

21 H914 Separate [H8734] H8432 yourselves from among H5712 this congregation H3615 , that I may consume [H8762] H7281 them in a moment.

22 H5307 And they fell [H8799] H6440 upon their faces H559 , and said [H8799] H410 , O God H430 , the God H7307 of the spirits H1320 of all flesh H259 , shall one H376 man H2398 sin [H8799] H7107 , and wilt thou be wroth [H8799] H5712 with all the congregation?

23 H3068 And the LORD H1696 spake [H8762] H4872 unto Moses H559 , saying [H8800] ,

24 H1696 Speak [H8761] H5712 unto the congregation H559 , saying [H8800] H5927 , Get you up [H8734] H5439 from about H4908 the tabernacle H7141 of Korah H1885 , Dathan H48 , and Abiram.

25 H4872 And Moses H6965 rose up [H8799] H3212 and went [H8799] H1885 unto Dathan H48 and Abiram H2205 ; and the elders H3478 of Israel H3212 followed [H8799] H310 him.

26 H1696 And he spake [H8762] H5712 unto the congregation H559 , saying [H8800] H5493 , Depart [H8798] H168 , I pray you, from the tents H7563 of these wicked H582 men H5060 , and touch [H8799] H5595 nothing of theirs, lest ye be consumed [H8735] H2403 in all their sins.

27 H5927 So they gat up [H8735] H4908 from the tabernacle H7141 of Korah H1885 , Dathan H48 , and Abiram H5439 , on every side H1885 : and Dathan H48 and Abiram H3318 came out [H8804] H5324 , and stood [H8737] H6607 in the door H168 of their tents H802 , and their wives H1121 , and their sons H2945 , and their little children.

28 H4872 And Moses H559 said [H8799] H3045 , Hereby ye shall know [H8799] H3068 that the LORD H7971 hath sent [H8804] H6213 me to do [H8800] H4639 all these works H3820 ; for I have not done them of mine own mind.

29 H4191 If these men die [H8799] H4194 the common death H120 of all men H6485 , or if they be visited [H8735] H6486 after the visitation H120 of all men H3068 ; then the LORD H7971 hath not sent [H8804] me.

30 H3068 But if the LORD H1254 make [H8799] H1278 a new thing H127 , and the earth H6475 open [H8804] H6310 her mouth H1104 , and swallow them up [H8804] H3381 , with all that appertain unto them, and they go down [H8804] H2416 quick H7585 into the pit H3045 ; then ye shall understand [H8804] H582 that these men H5006 have provoked [H8765] H3068 the LORD.

31 H3615 And it came to pass, as he had made an end [H8763] H1696 of speaking [H8763] H1697 all these words H127 , that the ground H1234 clave asunder [H8735] that was under them:

32 H776 And the earth H6605 opened [H8799] H6310 her mouth H1104 , and swallowed them up [H8799] H1004 , and their houses H120 , and all the men H7141 that appertained unto Korah H7399 , and all their goods.

33 H3381 They, and all that appertained to them, went down [H8799] H2416 alive H7585 into the pit H776 , and the earth H3680 closed [H8762] H6 upon them: and they perished [H8799] H8432 from among H6951 the congregation.

34 H3478 And all Israel H5439 that were round about H5127 them fled [H8804] H6963 at the cry H559 of them: for they said [H8804] H776 , Lest the earth H1104 swallow us up [H8799] also .

35 H3318 And there came out [H8804] H784 a fire H3068 from the LORD H398 , and consumed [H8799] H3967 the two hundred H2572 and fifty H376 men H7126 that offered [H8688] H7004 incense.

36 H3068 And the LORD H1696 spake [H8762] H4872 unto Moses H559 , saying [H8800] ,

37 H559 Speak [H8798] H499 unto Eleazar H1121 the son H175 of Aaron H3548 the priest H7311 , that he take up [H8686] H4289 the censers H996 out H8316 of the burning H2219 , and scatter [H8798] H784 thou the fire H1973 yonder H6942 ; for they are hallowed [H8804] .

38 H4289 The censers H2400 of these sinners H5315 against their own souls H6213 , let them make [H8804] H7555 them broad H6341 plates H6826 for a covering H4196 of the altar H7126 : for they offered [H8689] H6440 them before H3068 the LORD H6942 , therefore they are hallowed [H8799] H226 : and they shall be a sign H1121 unto the children H3478 of Israel.

39 H499 And Eleazar H3548 the priest H3947 took [H8799] H5178 the brasen H4289 censers H8313 , wherewith they that were burnt [H8803] H7126 had offered [H8689] H7554 ; and they were made broad [H8762] H6826 plates for a covering H4196 of the altar:

40 H2146 To be a memorial H1121 unto the children H3478 of Israel H834 , that H4616 H376 no stranger H2114 [H8801] H2233 , which is not of the seed H175 of Aaron H7126 , come near [H8799] H6999 to offer [H8687] H7004 incense H6440 before H3068 the LORD H7141 ; that he be not as Korah H5712 , and as his company H3068 : as the LORD H1696 said [H8765] H3027 to him by the hand H4872 of Moses.

41 H4283 But on the morrow H5712 all the congregation H1121 of the children H3478 of Israel H3885 murmured [H8735] H4872 against Moses H175 and against Aaron H559 , saying [H8800] H4191 , Ye have killed [H8689] H5971 the people H3068 of the LORD.

42 H5712 And it came to pass, when the congregation H6950 was gathered [H8736] H4872 against Moses H175 and against Aaron H6437 , that they looked [H8799] H168 toward the tabernacle H4150 of the congregation H6051 : and, behold, the cloud H3680 covered [H8765] H3519 it, and the glory H3068 of the LORD H7200 appeared [H8735] .

43 H4872 And Moses H175 and Aaron H935 came [H8799] H6440 before H168 the tabernacle H4150 of the congregation.

44 H3068 And the LORD H1696 spake [H8762] H4872 unto Moses H559 , saying [H8800] ,

45 H7426 Get you up [H8734] H8432 from among H5712 this congregation H3615 , that I may consume [H8762] H7281 them as in a moment H5307 . And they fell [H8799] H6440 upon their faces.

46 H4872 And Moses H559 said [H8799] H175 unto Aaron H3947 , Take [H8798] H4289 a censer H5414 , and put [H8798] H784 fire H6440 therein from off H4196 the altar H7760 , and put [H8798] H7004 on incense H3212 , and go [H8685] H4120 quickly H5712 unto the congregation H3722 , and make an atonement [H8761] H7110 for them: for there is wrath H3318 gone out [H8804] H3068 from the LORD H5063 ; the plague H2490 is begun [H8689] .

47 H175 And Aaron H3947 took [H8799] H4872 as Moses H1696 commanded [H8765] H7323 , and ran [H8799] H8432 into the midst H6951 of the congregation H5063 ; and, behold, the plague H2490 was begun [H8689] H5971 among the people H5414 : and he put [H8799] H7004 on incense H3722 , and made an atonement [H8762] H5971 for the people.

48 H5975 And he stood [H8799] H4191 between the dead [H8801] H2416 and the living H4046 ; and the plague H6113 was stayed [H8735] .

49 H4191 Now they that died [H8801] H4046 in the plague H702 were fourteen H6240 H505 thousand H7651 and seven H3967 hundred H4191 , beside them that died [H8801] H1697 about the matter H7141 of Korah.

50 H175 And Aaron H7725 returned [H8799] H4872 unto Moses H6607 unto the door H168 of the tabernacle H4150 of the congregation H4046 : and the plague H6113 was stayed [H8738] .
