H8671 And it came to pass in the ninth H8141 year H4427 of his reign [H8800]   H6224 , in the tenth H2320 month H6218 , in the tenth H2320 day of the month H5019 , that Nebuchadnezzar H4428 king H894 of Babylon H935 came [H8804]   H2428 , he, and all his host H3389 , against Jerusalem H2583 , and pitched [H8799]   H1129 against it; and they built [H8799]   H1785 forts H5439 against it round about.
H5892 And the city H935 was besieged [H8799]   H4692   H6249 unto the eleventh H6240   H8141 year H4428 of king H6667 Zedekiah.
H8672 And on the ninth H2320 day of the fourth month H7458 the famine H2388 prevailed [H8799]   H5892 in the city H3899 , and there was no bread H5971 for the people H776 of the land.
H5892 And the city H1234 was broken up [H8735]   H582 , and all the men H4421 of war H3915 fled by night H1870 by the way H8179 of the gate H2346 between two walls H4428 , which is by the king's H1588 garden H3778 : (now the Chaldees H5892 were against the city H5439 round about H3212 :) and the king went [H8799]   H1870 the way H6160 toward the plain.
H2428 And the army H3778 of the Chaldees H7291 pursued [H8799]   H310 after H4428 the king H5381 , and overtook [H8686]   H6160 him in the plains H3405 of Jericho H2428 : and all his army H6327 were scattered [H8738]   from him.
H8610 So they took [H8799]   H4428 the king H5927 , and brought him up [H8686]   H4428 to the king H894 of Babylon H7247 to Riblah H1696 ; and they gave [H8762]   H4941 judgment upon him.
H7819 And they slew [H8804]   H1121 the sons H6667 of Zedekiah H5869 before his eyes H5786 , and put out [H8765]   H5869 the eyes H6667 of Zedekiah H631 , and bound [H8799]   H5178 him with fetters H5178 of brass H935 , and carried [H8686]   H894 him to Babylon.
H2549 And in the fifth H2320 month H7651 , on the seventh H2320 day of the month H8672 , which is the nineteenth H6240   H8141   H8141 year H4428 of king H5019 Nebuchadnezzar H4428 king H894 of Babylon H935 , came [H8804]   H5018 Nebuzaradan H7227 , captain H2876 of the guard H5650 , a servant H4428 of the king H894 of Babylon H3389 , unto Jerusalem:
H8313 And he burnt [H8799]   H1004 the house H3068 of the LORD H4428 , and the king's H1004 house H1004 , and all the houses H3389 of Jerusalem H1419 , and every great H1004 man's house H8313 burnt [H8804]   H784 he with fire.
H2428 And all the army H3778 of the Chaldees H7227 , that were with the captain H2876 of the guard H5422 , brake down [H8804]   H2346 the walls H3389 of Jerusalem H5439 round about.
H3499 Now the rest H5971 of the people H7604 that were left [H8737]   H5892 in the city H5307 , and the fugitives [H8802]   H5307 that fell away [H8804]   H4428 to the king H894 of Babylon H3499 , with the remnant H1995 of the multitude H5018 , did Nebuzaradan H7227 the captain H2876 of the guard H1540 carry away [H8689]  .
H7227 But the captain H2876 of the guard H7604 left [H8689]   H1803 of the poor H776 of the land H3755 to be vinedressers H3009 and husbandmen [H8802]   [H8675]   H1461   [H8801]  .
H5982 And the pillars H5178 of brass H1004 that were in the house H3068 of the LORD H4350 , and the bases H5178 , and the brasen H3220 sea H1004 that was in the house H3068 of the LORD H3778 , did the Chaldees H7665 break in pieces [H8765]   H5375 , and carried [H8799]   H5178 the brass H894 of them to Babylon.
H5518 And the pots H3257 , and the shovels H4212 , and the snuffers H3709 , and the spoons H3627 , and all the vessels H5178 of brass H8334 wherewith they ministered [H8762]   H3947 , took they away [H8804]  .
H4289 And the firepans H4219 , and the bowls H2091 , and such things as were of gold H2091 , in gold H3701 , and of silver H3701 , in silver H7227 , the captain H2876 of the guard H3947 took away [H8804]  .
H8147 The two H5982 pillars H259 , one H3220 sea H4350 , and the bases H8010 which Solomon H6213 had made [H8804]   H1004 for the house H3068 of the LORD H5178 ; the brass H3627 of all these vessels H3808 was without H4948 weight.
H6967 The height H259 of the one H5982 pillar H8083 was eighteen H6240   H520 cubits H3805 , and the chapiter H5178 upon it was brass H6967 : and the height H3805 of the chapiter H7969 three H520 cubits H7639 ; and the wreathen work H7416 , and pomegranates H3805 upon the chapiter H5439 round about H5178 , all of brass H8145 : and like unto these had the second H5982 pillar H7639 with wreathen work.
H7227 And the captain H2876 of the guard H3947 took [H8799]   H8304 Seraiah H7218 the chief H3548 priest H6846 , and Zephaniah H4932 the second H3548 priest H7969 , and the three H8104 keepers [H8802]   H5592 of the door:
H5892 And out of the city H3947 he took [H8804]   H259 an H5631 officer H6496 that was set H582 over the men H4421 of war H2568 , and five H582 men H7200 of them that were [H8802]   H4428 in the king's H6440 presence H4672 , which were found [H8738]   H5892 in the city H8269 , and the principal H5608 scribe [H8802]   H6635 of the host H6633 , which mustered [H8688]   H5971 the people H776 of the land H8346 , and threescore H376 men H5971 of the people H776 of the land H4672 that were found [H8737]   H5892 in the city:
H5018 And Nebuzaradan H7227 captain H2876 of the guard H3947 took [H8799]   H3212 these, and brought [H8686]   H4428 them to the king H894 of Babylon H7247 to Riblah:
H4428 And the king H894 of Babylon H5221 smote [H8686]   H4191 them, and slew [H8686]   H7247 them at Riblah H776 in the land H2574 of Hamath H3063 . So Judah H1540 was carried away [H8799]   H127 out of their land.
H5971 And as for the people H7604 that remained [H8737]   H776 in the land H3063 of Judah H5019 , whom Nebuchadnezzar H4428 king H894 of Babylon H7604 had left [H8689]   H1436 , even over them he made Gedaliah H1121 the son H296 of Ahikam H1121 , the son H8227 of Shaphan H6485 , ruler [H8686]  .
H8269 And when all the captains H2428 of the armies H582 , they and their men H8085 , heard [H8799]   H4428 that the king H894 of Babylon H1436 had made Gedaliah H6485 governor [H8689]   H935 , there came [H8799]   H1436 to Gedaliah H4709 to Mizpah H3458 , even Ishmael H1121 the son H5418 of Nethaniah H3110 , and Johanan H1121 the son H7143 of Careah H8304 , and Seraiah H1121 the son H8576 of Tanhumeth H5200 the Netophathite H2970 , and Jaazaniah H1121 the son H4602 of a Maachathite H582 , they and their men.
H1436 And Gedaliah H7650 sware [H8735]   H582 to them, and to their men H559 , and said [H8799]   H3372 unto them, Fear [H8799]   H5650 not to be the servants H3778 of the Chaldees H3427 : dwell [H8798]   H776 in the land H5647 , and serve [H8798]   H4428 the king H894 of Babylon H3190 ; and it shall be well [H8799]   with you.
H7637 But it came to pass in the seventh H2320 month H3458 , that Ishmael H1121 the son H5418 of Nethaniah H1121 , the son H476 of Elishama H2233 , of the seed H4410 royal H935 , came [H8804]   H6235 , and ten H582 men H5221 with him, and smote [H8686]   H1436 Gedaliah H4191 , that he died [H8799]   H3064 , and the Jews H3778 and the Chaldees H4709 that were with him at Mizpah.
H5971 And all the people H6996 , both small H1419 and great H8269 , and the captains H2428 of the armies H6965 , arose [H8799]   H935 , and came [H8799]   H4714 to Egypt H3372 : for they were afraid [H8804]   H6440 of H3778 the Chaldees.
H7651 And it came to pass in the seven H7970 and thirtieth H8141 year H1546 of the captivity H3078 of Jehoiachin H4428 king H3063 of Judah H8147 , in the twelfth H6240   H2320 month H7651 , on the seven H6242 and twentieth H2320 day of the month H192 , that Evilmerodach H4428 king H894 of Babylon H8141 in the year H4427 that he began to reign [H8800]   H5375 did lift up [H8804]   H7218 the head H3078 of Jehoiachin H4428 king H3063 of Judah H1004 out of prison H3608  ;
H1696 And he spake [H8762]   H2896 kindly H5414 to him, and set [H8799]   H3678 his throne H3678 above the throne H4428 of the kings H894 that were with him in Babylon;
H8132 And changed [H8765]   H3608 his prison H899 garments H398 : and he did eat [H8804]   H3899 bread H8548 continually H6440 before H3117 him all the days H2416 of his life.
H737 And his allowance H8548 was a continual H737 allowance H5414 given [H8738]   H4428 him of the king H3117 , a daily H3117   H1697 rate H3117 for every day H3117 , all the days H2416 of his life.
KJV(i) 1 And it came to pass in the ninth year of his reign, in the tenth month, in the tenth day of the month, that Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came, he, and all his host, against Jerusalem, and pitched against it; and they built forts against it round about. 2 And the city was besieged unto the eleventh year of king Zedekiah. 3 And on the ninth day of the fourth month the famine prevailed in the city, and there was no bread for the people of the land. 4 And the city was broken up, and all the men of war fled by night by the way of the gate between two walls, which is by the king's garden: (now the Chaldees were against the city round about:) and the king went the way toward the plain. 5 And the army of the Chaldees pursued after the king, and overtook him in the plains of Jericho: and all his army were scattered from him. 6 So they took the king, and brought him up to the king of Babylon to Riblah; and they gave judgment upon him. 7 And they slew the sons of Zedekiah before his eyes, and put out the eyes of Zedekiah, and bound him with fetters of brass, and carried him to Babylon. 8 And in the fifth month, on the seventh day of the month, which is the nineteenth year of king Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, came Nebuzaradan, captain of the guard, a servant of the king of Babylon, unto Jerusalem: 9 And he burnt the house of the LORD, and the king's house, and all the houses of Jerusalem, and every great man's house burnt he with fire. 10 And all the army of the Chaldees, that were with the captain of the guard, brake down the walls of Jerusalem round about. 11 Now the rest of the people that were left in the city, and the fugitives that fell away to the king of Babylon, with the remnant of the multitude, did Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard carry away. 12 But the captain of the guard left of the door of the poor of the land to be vinedressers and husbandmen. 13 And the pillars of brass that were in the house of the LORD, and the bases, and the brazen sea that was in the house of the LORD, did the Chaldees break in pieces, and carried the brass of them to Babylon. 14 And the pots, and the shovels, and the snuffers, and the spoons, and all the vessels of brass wherewith they ministered, took they away. 15 And the firepans, and the bowls, and such things as were of gold, in gold, and of silver, in silver, the captain of the guard took away. 16 The two pillars, one sea, and the bases which Solomon had made for the house of the LORD; the brass of all these vessels was without weight. 17 The height of the one pillar was eighteen cubits, and the chapiter upon it was brass: and the height of the chapiter three cubits; and the wreathed work, and pomegranates upon the chapiter round about, all of brass: and like unto these had the second pillar with wreathed work. 18 And the captain of the guard took Seraiah the chief priest, and Zephaniah the second priest, and the three keepers of the door: 19 And out of the city he took an officer that was set over the men of war, and five men of them that were in the king's presence, which were found in the city, and the principal scribe of the host, which mustered the people of the land, and threescore men of the people of the land that were found in the city: 20 And Nebuzaradan captain of the guard took these, and brought them to the king of Babylon to Riblah: 21 And the king of Babylon smote them, and slew them at Riblah in the land of Hamath. So Judah was carried away out of their land. 22 And as for the people that remained in the land of Judah, whom Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon had left, even over them he made Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, ruler. 23 And when all the captains of the armies, they and their men, heard that the king of Babylon had made Gedaliah governor, there came to Gedaliah to Mizpah, even Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, and Johanan the son of Careah, and Seraiah the son of Tanhumeth the Netophathite, and Jaazaniah the son of a Maachathite, they and their men. 24 And Gedaliah sware to them, and to their men, and said unto them, Fear not to be the servants of the Chaldees: dwell in the land, and serve the king of Babylon; and it shall be well with you. 25 But it came to pass in the seventh month, that Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, the son of Elishama, of the seed royal, came, and ten men with him, and smote Gedaliah, that he died, and the Jews and the Chaldees that were with him at Mizpah. 26 And all the people, both small and great, and the captains of the armies, arose, and came to Egypt: for they were afraid of the Chaldees. 27 And it came to pass in the seven and thirtieth year of the captivity of Jehoiachin king of Judah, in the twelfth month, on the seven and twentieth day of the month, that Evilmerodach king of Babylon in the year that he began to reign did lift up the head of Jehoiachin king of Judah out of prison; 28 And he spake kindly to him, and set his throne above the throne of the kings that were with him in Babylon; 29 And changed his prison garments: and he did eat bread continually before him all the days of his life. 30 And his allowance was a continual allowance given him of the king, a daily rate for every day, all the days of his life.
