Judges 7 Then Jerubbaal, who is Gideon, and all the people that were with him, rose up early, and encamped beside the spring of Harod: and the camp of Midian was on the north side of them, by the hill of Moreh, in the valley.

1 H3378 Then Jerubbaal, H1439 who is Gideon, H5971 and all the people H7925 that were with him, rose up early, H2583 and encamped H5878 beside the spring of Harod: H4264 and the camp H4080 of Midian H6828 was on the north side H1389 of them, by the hill H4176 of Moreh, H6010 in the valley.

2 H3068 And Jehovah H559 said H1439 unto Gideon, H5971 The people H7227 that are with thee are too many H5414 for me to give H4080 the Midianites H3027 into their hand, H3478 lest Israel H6286 vaunt H559 themselves against me, saying, H3027 Mine own hand H3467 hath saved me.

3 H4994 Now therefore H7121 proclaim H241 in the ears H5971 of the people, H559 saying, H3373 Whosoever is fearful H2730 and trembling, H7725 let him return H6852 and depart H2022 from mount H1568 Gilead. H7725 And there returned H5971 of the people H6242 twenty H8147 and two H505 thousand; H7604 and there remained H6235 ten H505 thousand.

4 H3068 And Jehovah H559 said H1439 unto Gideon, H5971 The people H7227 are yet too many; H3381 bring them down H4325 unto the water, H6884 and I will try H559 them for thee there: and it shall be, that of whom I say H3212 unto thee, This shall go H3212 with thee, the same shall go H559 with thee; and of whomsoever I say H3212 unto thee, This shall not go H3212 with thee, the same shall not go.

5 H3381 So he brought down H5971 the people H4325 unto the water: H3068 and Jehovah H559 said H1439 unto Gideon, H3952 Every one that lappeth H4325 of the water H3956 with his tongue, H3611 as a dog H3952 lappeth, H3322 him shalt thou set H3766 by himself; likewise every one that boweth down H1290 upon his knees H8354 to drink.

6 H4557 And the number H3952 of them that lapped, H3027 putting their hand H6310 to their mouth, H7969 was three H3967 hundred H376 men: H3499 but all the rest H5971 of the people H3766 bowed down H1290 upon their knees H8354 to drink H4325 water.

7 H3068 And Jehovah H559 said H1439 unto Gideon, H7969 By the three H3967 hundred H376 men H3952 that lapped H3467 will I save H5414 you, and deliver H4080 the Midianites H3027 into thy hand; H5971 and let all the people H3212 go H376 every man H4725 unto his place.

8 H5971 So the people H3947 took H6720 victuals H3027 in their hand, H7782 and their trumpets; H7971 and he sent H376 all H3478 the men of Israel H376 every man H168 unto his tent, H2388 but retained H7969 the three H3967 hundred H376 men: H4264 and the camp H4080 of Midian H6010 was beneath him in the valley.

9 H3915 And it came to pass the same night, H3068 that Jehovah H559 said H6965 unto him, Arise, H3381 get thee down H4264 into the camp; H5414 for I have delivered H3027 it into thy hand.

10 H3373 But if thou fear H3381 to go down, H3381 go H6513 thou with Purah H5288 thy servant H3381 down H4264 to the camp:

11 H8085 and thou shalt hear H1696 what they say; H310 and afterward H3027 shall thy hands H2388 be strengthened H3381 to go down H4264 into the camp. H3381 Then went he down H6513 with Purah H5288 his servant H7097 unto the outermost H2571 part of the armed men H4264 that were in the camp.

12 H4080 And the Midianites H6002 and the Amalekites H1121 and all the children H6924 of the east H5307 lay H6010 along in the valley H697 like locusts H7230 for multitude; H1581 and their camels H4557 were without number, H2344 as the sand H8193 which is upon the sea-shore H3220 H7230 for multitude.

13 H1439 And when Gideon H935 was come, H376 behold, there was a man H5608 telling H2472 a dream H7453 unto his fellow; H559 and he said, H2492 Behold, I dreamed H2472 a dream; H6742 and, lo, a cake H8184 of barley H3899 bread H2015 tumbled H4264 into the camp H4080 of Midian, H935 and came H168 unto the tent, H5221 and smote H5307 it so that it fell, H2015 and turned it upside down, H168 so that the tent H5307 lay flat.

14 H7453 And his fellow H6030 answered H559 and said, H2719 This is nothing else save the sword H1439 of Gideon H1121 the son H3101 of Joash, H376 a man H3478 of Israel: H3027 into his hand H430 God H5414 hath delivered H4080 Midian, H4264 and all the host.

15 H1439 And it was so, when Gideon H8085 heard H4557 the telling H2472 of the dream, H7667 and the interpretation H7812 thereof, that he worshipped; H7725 and he returned H4264 into the camp H3478 of Israel, H559 and said, H6965 Arise; H3068 for Jehovah H5414 hath delivered H3027 into your hand H4264 the host H4080 of Midian.

16 H2673 And he divided H7969 the three H3967 hundred H376 men H7969 into three H7218 companies, H5414 and he put H3027 into the hands H7782 of all of them trumpets, H7386 and empty H3537 pitchers, H3940 with torches H8432 within H3537 the pitchers.

17 H559 And he said H7200 unto them, Look H6213 on me, and do H935 likewise: and, behold, when I come H7097 to the outermost H4264 part of the camp, H6213 it shall be that, as I do, H6213 so shall ye do.

18 H8628 When I blow H7782 the trumpet, H8628 I and all that are with me, then blow H7782 ye the trumpets H5439 also on every side H4264 of all the camp, H559 and say, H3068 For Jehovah H1439 and for Gideon.

19 H1439 So Gideon, H3967 and the hundred H376 men H935 that were with him, came H7097 unto the outermost H4264 part of the camp H7218 in the beginning H8484 of the middle H821 watch, H389 when they had but H6965 newly H6965 set H8104 the watch: H8628 and they blew H7782 the trumpets, H5310 and brake H3537 in pieces the pitchers H3027 that were in their hands.

20 H7969 And the three H7218 companies H8628 blew H7782 the trumpets, H7665 and brake H3537 the pitchers, H2388 and held H3940 the torches H8040 in their left H3027 hands, H7782 and the trumpets H3225 in their right H3027 hands H8628 wherewith to blow; H7121 and they cried, H2719 The sword H3068 of Jehovah H1439 and of Gideon.

21 H5975 And they stood H376 every man H5439 in his place round about H4264 the camp; H4264 and all the host H7323 ran; H7321 and they shouted, H5127 and put them to flight.

22 H8628 And they blew H7969 the three H3967 hundred H7782 trumpets, H3068 and Jehovah H7760 set H376 every man's H2719 sword H7453 against his fellow, H4264 and against all the host; H4264 and the host H5127 fled H1029 as far as Beth-shittah H6888 toward Zererah, H8193 as far as the border H65 of Abel-meholah, H2888 by Tabbath.

23 H376 And the men H3478 of Israel H6817 were gathered together H5321 out of Naphtali, H836 and out of Asher, H4519 and out of all Manasseh, H7291 and pursued H310 after H4080 Midian.

24 H1439 And Gideon H7971 sent H4397 messengers H2022 throughout all the hill-country H669 of Ephraim, H559 saying, H3381 Come down H7125 against H4080 Midian, H3920 and take H4325 before them the waters, H1012 as far as Beth-barah, H3383 even the Jordan. H376 So all the men H669 of Ephraim H6817 were gathered together, H3920 and took H4325 the waters H1012 as far as Beth-barah, H3383 even the Jordan.

25 H3920 And they took H8147 the two H8269 princes H4080 of Midian, H6159 Oreb H2062 and Zeeb; H2026 and they slew H6159 Oreb H6697 at the rock H6159 of Oreb, H2062 and Zeeb H2026 they slew H3342 at the winepress H2062 of Zeeb, H7291 and pursued H4080 Midian: H935 and they brought H7218 the heads H6159 of Oreb H2062 and Zeeb H1439 to Gideon H5676 beyond H3383 the Jordan.
