Judges 7 Then Jerubbaal, who is Gideon, and all the people that were with him, rose up early, and pitched beside the well of Harod: so that the host of the Midianites were on the north side of them, by the hill of Moreh, in the valley.

1 H3378 Then Jerubbaal, H1931 who H1439 is Gideon, H3605 and all H5971 the people H7925 that were with him, rose H7925 up early, H2583 and pitched H5921 beside H5878 the well H5878 of Harod: H4264 so that the host H4080 of the Midianites H6828 were on the north H1389 side of them, by the hill H4176 of Moreh, H6010 in the valley.

2 H3068 And the LORD H559 said H1439 to Gideon, H5971 The people H7227 that are with you are too many H5414 for me to give H4080 the Midianites H3027 into their hands, H6435 lest H3478 Israel H6286 vaunt H5921 themselves against H559 me, saying, H3027 My own hand H3467 has saved me.

3 H6258 Now H4994 therefore go H7121 to, proclaim H241 in the ears H5971 of the people, H559 saying, H4310 Whoever H3373 is fearful H2730 and afraid, H7725 let him return H6852 and depart H6852 early H2022 from mount H1568 Gilead. H7725 And there returned H5971 of the people H6242 twenty H8147 and two H505 thousand; H7604 and there remained H6235 ten H505 thousand.

4 H3068 And the LORD H559 said H1439 to Gideon, H5971 The people H5750 are yet H7227 too many; H3318 bring H3381 them down H4325 to the water, H6884 and I will try H8033 them for you there: H834 and it shall be, that of whom H559 I say H2088 to you, This H3212 shall go H1931 with you, the same H3212 shall go H834 with you; and of whomsoever H559 I say H2088 to you, This H3212 shall not go H1931 with you, the same H3212 shall not go.

5 H3381 So he brought H3381 down H5971 the people H4325 to the water: H3068 and the LORD H559 said H1439 to Gideon, H3605 Every H3952 one that laps H4325 of the water H3956 with his tongue, H3611 as a dog H3952 laps, H3322 him shall you set H3605 by himself; likewise every H3766 one that bows H1290 down on his knees H8354 to drink.

6 H4557 And the number H3952 of them that lapped, H3027 putting their hand H6310 to their mouth, H7969 were three H3967 hundred H376 men: H3605 but all H3499 the rest H5971 of the people H3766 bowed H1290 down on their knees H8354 to drink H4325 water.

7 H3068 And the LORD H559 said H1439 to Gideon, H7969 By the three H3967 hundred H376 men H3952 that lapped H3467 will I save H5414 you, and deliver H4080 the Midianites H3027 into your hand: H3605 and let all H5971 the other people H3212 go H376 every man H4725 to his place.

8 H5971 So the people H3947 took H6720 victuals H3027 in their hand, H7782 and their trumpets: H7971 and he sent H3605 all H3478 the rest of Israel H376 every man H168 to his tent, H2388 and retained H7969 those three H3967 hundred H376 men: H4264 and the host H4080 of Midian H8478 was beneath H6010 him in the valley.

9 H1961 And it came H1931 to pass the same H3915 night, H3068 that the LORD H559 said H6965 to him, Arise, H3381 get H3381 you down H4264 to the host; H5414 for I have delivered H3027 it into your hand.

10 H518 But if H3373 you fear H3381 to go H3381 down, H3381 go H6513 you with Phurah H5288 your servant H3381 down H4264 to the host:

11 H8085 And you shall hear H4100 what H1696 they say; H310 and afterward H3027 shall your hands H2388 be strengthened H3381 to go H3381 down H4264 to the host. H3381 Then went H3381 he down H6513 with Phurah H5288 his servant H7097 to the outside H2571 of the armed H4264 men that were in the host.

12 H4080 And the Midianites H6003 and the Amalekites H3605 and all H1121 the children H6924 of the east H5307 lay H6010 along in the valley H697 like grasshoppers H7230 for multitude; H1581 and their camels H369 were without H4557 number, H2344 as the sand H3220 by the sea H8193 side H7230 for multitude.

13 H1439 And when Gideon H935 was come, H2009 behold, H376 there was a man H5608 that told H2472 a dream H7453 to his fellow, H559 and said, H2009 Behold, H2492 I dreamed H2472 a dream, H2009 and, see, H6742 a cake H8184 of barley H3899 bread H2015 tumbled H4264 into the host H4080 of Midian, H935 and came H168 to a tent, H5221 and smote H5307 it that it fell, H2015 and overturned H168 it, that the tent H5307 lay along.

14 H7453 And his fellow H6030 answered H559 and said, H2063 This H369 is nothing H1115 else save H518 H2719 the sword H1439 of Gideon H1121 the son H3101 of Joash, H376 a man H3478 of Israel: H3027 for into his hand H430 has God H5414 delivered H4080 Midian, H3605 and all H4264 the host.

15 H1439 And it was so, when Gideon H8085 heard H4557 the telling H2472 of the dream, H7667 and the interpretation H7812 thereof, that he worshipped, H7725 and returned H413 into H4264 the host H3478 of Israel, H559 and said, H6965 Arise; H3068 for the LORD H5414 has delivered H3027 into your hand H4264 the host H4080 of Midian.

16 H2673 And he divided H7969 the three H3967 hundred H376 men H7969 into three H7218 companies, H5414 and he put H7782 a trumpet H3605 in every H3027 man’s hand, H7385 with empty H3537 pitchers, H3940 and lamps H8432 within H3537 the pitchers.

17 H559 And he said H7200 to them, Look H6213 on me, and do H3651 likewise: H2009 and, behold, H935 when I come H7097 to the outside H4264 of the camp, H6213 it shall be that, as I do, H3651 so H6213 shall you do.

18 H8628 When I blow H7782 with a trumpet, H3605 I and all H8628 that are with me, then blow H7782 you the trumpets H1571 also H3605 on every H5439 side H3605 of all H4264 the camp, H559 and say, H3068 The sword of the LORD, H1439 and of Gideon.

19 H1439 So Gideon, H3967 and the hundred H376 men H935 that were with him, came H7097 to the outside H4264 of the camp H7218 in the beginning H8484 of the middle H821 watch; H6965 and they had but newly H6965 set H8104 the watch: H8628 and they blew H7782 the trumpets, H5310 and broke H3537 the pitchers H3027 that were in their hands.

20 H7969 And the three H7218 companies H8628 blew H7782 the trumpets, H7665 and broke H3537 the pitchers, H2388 and held H3940 the lamps H8040 in their left H3027 hands, H7782 and the trumpets H3225 in their right H3027 hands H8628 to blow H7121 with: and they cried, H2719 The sword H3068 of the LORD, H1439 and of Gideon.

21 H5975 And they stood H376 every man H8478 in his place H5439 round H4264 about the camp; H3605 and all H4264 the host H7323 ran, H7321 and cried, H5127 and fled.

22 H7969 And the three H3967 hundred H8628 blew H7782 the trumpets, H3068 and the LORD H7760 set H376 every man’s H2719 sword H7453 against his fellow, H3605 even throughout all H4264 the host: H4264 and the host H5127 fled H1029 to Bethshittah H6888 in Zererath, H8193 and to the border H65 of Abelmeholah, H2888 to Tabbath.

23 H376 And the men H3478 of Israel H6817 gathered H5321 themselves together out of Naphtali, H836 and out of Asher, H3605 and out of all H4519 Manasseh, H7291 and pursued H310 after H4080 the Midianites.

24 H1439 And Gideon H7971 sent H4397 messengers H3605 throughout all H2022 mount H669 Ephraim, H559 saying, H3381 come H3381 down H7125 against H4080 the Midianites, H3920 and take H4325 before them the waters H1012 to Bethbarah H3383 and Jordan. H3605 Then all H376 the men H669 of Ephraim H6817 gathered H3920 themselves together, and took H4325 the waters H1012 to Bethbarah H3383 and Jordan.

25 H3920 And they took H8147 two H8269 princes H4080 of the Midianites, H6157 Oreb H2062 and Zeeb; H2026 and they slew H6157 Oreb H6697 on the rock H6157 Oreb, H2062 and Zeeb H2026 they slew H3342 at the wine press H2062 of Zeeb, H7291 and pursued H4080 Midian, H935 and brought H7218 the heads H6157 of Oreb H2062 and Zeeb H1439 to Gideon H5676 on the other H5676 side H3383 Jordan.
