Numbers 21 And when king Arad the Canaanite, who dwelt in the south, heard that Israel came by the way of the spies; then he fought against Israel, and took some of them prisoners.

2 H3478 And Israel H5087 [H8799] vowed H5088 a vow H3068 to the LORD, H559 [H8799] and said, H5414 [H8800] If thou wilt indeed H5414 [H8799] deliver H5971 this people H3027 into my hand, H2763 [H8689] then I will utterly seclude H5892 their cities.

3 H3068 And the LORD H8085 [H8799] hearkened H6963 to the voice H3478 of Israel, H5414 [H8799] and delivered up H3669 the Canaanites; H2763 [H8686] and they utterly secluded H5892 them and their cities: H7121 [H8799] and he called H8034 the name H4725 of the place H2767 Hormah.

4 H5265 [H8799] And they journeyed H2022 from mount H2023 Hor H1870 by the way H5488 of the Red H3220 sea, H5437 [H8800] to go around H776 the land H123 of Edom: H5315 and the breath H5971 of the people H7114 [H8799] was shortened H1870 because of the way.

5 H5971 And the people H1696 [H8762] spoke H430 against God, H4872 and against Moses, H5927 [H8689] Why have ye brought us H4714 out of Egypt H4191 [H8800] to die H4057 in the wilderness? H3899 for there is no bread, H4325 neither is there any water; H5315 and our breath H6973 [H8804] loatheth H7052 this light H3899 bread.

6 H3068 And the LORD H7971 [H8762] sent H8314 fiery H5175 serpents H5971 among the people, H5391 [H8762] and they bit H5971 the people; H7227 and many H5971 people H3478 of Israel H4191 [H8799] died.

7 H5971 Therefore the people H935 [H8799] came H4872 to Moses, H559 [H8799] and said, H2398 [H8804] We have sinned, H1696 [H8765] for we have spoken H3068 against the LORD, H6419 [H8690] and against thee; pray H3068 to the LORD, H5493 [H8686] that he take away H5175 the serpents H4872 from us. And Moses H6419 [H8691] prayed H5971 for the people.

8 H3068 And the LORD H559 [H8799] said H4872 to Moses, H6213 [H8798] Make H8314 thee a fiery serpent, H7760 [H8798] and set H5251 it upon a pole: H5391 [H8803] and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, H7200 [H8804] when he looketh H2425 [H8804] upon it, shall live.

9 H4872 And Moses H6213 [H8799] made H5175 a serpent H5178 of brass, H7760 [H8799] and put H5251 it upon a pole, H5175 and it came to pass, that if a serpent H5391 [H8804] had bitten H376 any man, H5027 [H8689] when he beheld H5175 the serpent H5178 of brass, H2425 [H8804] he lived.

10 H1121 And the sons H3478 of Israel H5265 [H8799] moved forward, H2583 [H8799] and encamped H88 in Oboth.

11 H5265 [H8799] And they journeyed H88 from Oboth, H2583 [H8799] and encamped H5863 at Ijeabarim, H4057 in the wilderness H6440 which is at the face of H4124 Moab, H4217 H8121 toward the sunrising.

12 H5265 [H8804] From there they removed, H2583 [H8799] and encamped H5158 in the valley H2218 of Zared.

13 H5265 [H8804] From there they removed, H2583 [H8799] and encamped H5676 on the other side H769 of Arnon, H4057 which is in the wilderness H3318 [H8802] that cometh out H1366 of the borders H567 of the Amorites: H769 for Arnon H1366 is the border H4124 of Moab, H4124 between Moab H567 and the Amorites.

14 H559 [H8735] Therefore it is said H5612 in the book H4421 of the wars H3068 of the LORD, H2052 What he did H5492 in the Red sea, H5158 and in the brooks H769 of Arnon,

15 H793 And at the stream H5158 of the brooks H5186 [H8804] that goeth down H3427 [H8800] to the dwelling H6144 of Ar, H8172 [H8738] and lieth H1366 upon the border H4124 of Moab.

16 H876 And from there they went to Beer: H875 that is the well H3068 of which the LORD H559 [H8804] spoke H4872 to Moses, H622 0 Gather H5971 the people H622 [H8798] together, H5414 [H8799] and I will give H4325 them water.

17 H3478 Then Israel H7891 [H8799] sung H7892 this song, H5927 [H8798] Spring up, H875 O well; H6030 [H8798] sing ye to it:

18 H8269 The princes H2658 [H8804] searched out H875 the well, H5081 the nobles H5971 of the people H3738 [H8804] dug H2710 [H8781] it, by the direction of the lawgiver, H4938 with their staffs. H4057 And from the wilderness H4980 they went to Mattanah:

19 H4980 And from Mattanah H5160 to Nahaliel: H5160 and from Nahaliel H1120 to Bamoth:

20 H1120 And from Bamoth H1516 in the valley, H7704 that is in the country H4124 of Moab, H7218 to the top H6449 of Pisgah, H8259 [H8738] which looketh H6440 toward H3452 Jeshimon.

21 H3478 And Israel H7971 [H8799] sent H4397 messengers H5511 to Sihon H4428 king H567 of the Amorites, H559 [H8800] saying,

22 H5674 [H8799] Let me pass H776 through thy land: H5186 [H8799] we will not turn H7704 into the fields, H3754 or into the vineyards; H8354 [H8799] we will not drink H4325 of the waters H875 of the well: H3212 [H8799] but we will go along H4428 by the king's H1870 highway, H5674 [H8799] until we have past H1366 thy borders.

23 H5511 And Sihon H5414 [H8804] would not permit H3478 Israel H5674 [H8800] to pass H1366 through his border: H5511 but Sihon H622 0 gathered H5971 all his people H622 [H8799] together, H3318 [H8799] and went out H7125 [H8800] against H3478 Israel H4057 into the wilderness: H935 [H8799] and he came H3096 to Jahaz, H3898 [H8735] and fought H3478 against Israel.

24 H3478 And Israel H5221 [H8686] smote H6310 him with the edge H2719 of the sword, H3423 [H8799] and possessed H776 his land H769 from Arnon H2999 to Jabbok, H1121 even to the sons H5983 of Ammon: H1366 for the border H1121 of the sons H5983 of Ammon H5794 was strong.

25 H3478 And Israel H3947 [H8799] took H5892 all these cities: H3478 and Israel H3427 [H8799] dwelt H5892 in all the cities H567 of the Amorites, H2809 in Heshbon, H1323 and in all its villages.

26 H2809 For Heshbon H5892 was the city H5511 of Sihon H4428 the king H567 of the Amorites, H3898 [H8738] who had fought H7223 against the former H4428 king H4124 of Moab, H3947 [H8799] and taken H776 all his land H3027 out of his hand, H769 even to Arnon.

27 H4911 [H8802] Therefore they that speak in proverbs H559 [H8799] say, H935 [H8798] Come H2809 into Heshbon, H5892 let the city H5511 of Sihon H1129 [H8735] be built H3559 [H8709] and prepared:

28 H784 For there hast a fire H3318 [H8804] gone out H2809 of Heshbon, H3852 a flame H7151 from the city H5511 of Sihon: H398 [H8804] it hath consumed H6144 Ar H4124 of Moab, H1181 and the lords of the high places H769 of Arnon.

29 H188 Woe H4124 to thee, Moab! H6 [H8804] thou art lost, H5971 O people H3645 of Chemosh: H5414 [H8804] he hath given H1121 his sons H6412 that escaped, H1323 and his daughters, H7622 into captivity H5511 to Sihon H4428 king H567 of the Amorites.

30 H3384 [H8799] We have shot H2809 at them; Heshbon H6 [H8804] hast been lost H1769 even to Dibon, H8074 [H8686] and we have laid them waste H5302 even to Nophah, H4311 which reacheth to Medeba.

31 H3478 Thus Israel H3427 [H8799] dwelt H776 in the land H567 of the Amorites.

32 H4872 And Moses H7971 [H8799] sent H7270 [H8763] to spy out H3270 Jaazer, H3920 [H8799] and they took H1323 its villages, H3423 H3423 [H8686] and drove out H567 the Amorites that were there.

33 H6437 [H8799] And they turned H5927 [H8799] and went up H1870 by the way H1316 of Bashan: H5747 and Og H4428 the king H1316 of Bashan H3318 [H8799] went out H7125 [H8800] against H5971 them, he, and all his people, H4421 to the battle H154 at Edrei.

34 H3068 And the LORD H559 [H8799] said H4872 to Moses, H3372 [H8799] Fear H5414 [H8804] him not: for I have delivered H3027 him into thine hand, H5971 and all his people, H776 and his land; H6213 [H8804] and thou shalt do H6213 [H8804] to him as thou didst H5511 to Sihon H4428 king H567 of the Amorites, H3427 [H8802] who dwelt H2809 at Heshbon.

35 H5221 [H8686] So they smote H1121 him, and his sons, H5971 and all his people, H1115 until there was none H7604 [H8689] left H8300 to him alive: H3423 [H8799] and they possessed H776 his land.
