1 And sovereign Arad the Kenaaniy, who settles in the south, hears tell that Yisra El comes by the way of Atharim; he fights Yisra El and captures captives of them.
2 And Yisra El vows a vow to Yah Veh and says, If in giving, you give this people into my hand, then I devote their cities.
3 - and Yah Veh hearkens to the voice of Yisra El and gives the Kenaaniy; and they devote them and their cities: and he calls the name of the place Hormah.

YAH VEH SENDS SERAPH SERPENTS
And they pull stakes from mount Hor by the way of the Reed sea to surround the land of Edom: and the soul of the people curtails because of the way. 5 And the people word against Elohim and against Mosheh, Why ascended you us from Misrayim to die in the wilderness? for there is neither bread nor water; and our soul abhors this light bread. 6 And Yah Veh sends seraph serpents among the people and they bite the people; and much people of Yisra El die. 7 And the people come to Mosheh and say, We sinned, for we worded against Yah Veh and against you; pray to Yah Veh, to turn aside the serpents from us. - and Mosheh prays for the people. 8 And Yah Veh says to Mosheh, work a seraph and set it on a pole: and so be it, every one who is bitten, when he sees, lives. 9 And Mosheh works a serpent of copper and puts it on a pole: and so be it, if a serpent bites any man, when he looks at the serpent of copper, he lives. 10
SONS OF YISRA EL PULL STAKES
And the sons of Yisra El pull stakes and encamp in Oboth: 11 and they pull stakes from Oboth and encamp at Iye Ha Abiram in the wilderness at the face of Moab toward the sun dawnward: 12 from there they pull stakes and encamp in the wadi of Zared: 13 from there they pull stakes and encamp on the other side of Arnon - in the wilderness that comes from the borders of the Emoriy: for Arnon is the border of Moab between Moab and the Emoriy. 14 Therefore it says in the scroll of the wars of Yah Veh, Vaheb in the Reed sea and in the wadies of Arnon, 15 and at the stream of the storm channels that spreads to the settlement at Ar and lies on the border of Moab. 16 And from there to the well - the well whereof Yah Veh said to Mosheh, Gather the people together and I give them water. 17 Then Yisra El sings this song, Ascend, O well; answer: 18 the governors dig the well, the volunteers of the people dig, by the statute setters with their crutches. And from the wilderness they go to Mattanah: 19 and from Mattanah to Nachali El: and from Nachali El to Bamoth: 20 and from Bamoth in the valley in the field of Moab, to the top of Pisgah at the face of the desolation. 21 And Yisra El sends angels to Sichon sovereign of the Emoriy, saying, 22 Let me pass through your land: we neither deviate into the fields or into the vineyards; nor drink of the waters of the well: but we go along by the way of the sovereign until we pass your borders. 23 And Sichon gives not Yisra El to pass through his border: but Sichon gathers all his people together and goes and confronts Yisra El in the wilderness: and he comes to Yahsah who fights Yisra El: 24 and Yisra El smites him with the mouth of the sword and possesses his land from Arnon to Yabboq to the sons of Ammon: for the border of the sons of Ammon is strong. 25 And Yisra El takes all these cities: and Yisra El settles in all the cities of the Emoriy, in Heshbon and in all the daughters thereof. 26 For Heshbon is a city of Sichon the sovereign of the Emoriy, who fought the head sovereign of Moab and takes all his land from his hand, to Arnon. 27 So they who proverbialize say, Come into Heshbon, build the city of Sichon and prepare: 28 for there a fire goes from Heshbon a flame from the city of Sichon: it consumes Ar of Moab and the masters of the bamahs of Arnon. 29 Woe to you, Moab! You destruct, O people of Kemosh! He gives his sons and his daughters who escape to captivity to Sichon sovereign of the Emoriy. 30 And we shoot them!
