Numbers 20 Then came the sons of Israel, even the whole company, into the desert of Zin in the first month: and the people abode in Kadesh; and Miriam died there, and was buried there.

1 H935 [H8799] Then came H1121 the sons H3478 of Israel, H3605 even the whole H5712 company, H4057 into the desert H6790 of Zin H7223 in the first H2320 month: H5971 and the people H3427 [H8799] abode H6946 in Kadesh; H4813 and Miriam H4191 [H8799] died H6912 [H8735] there, and was buried there.

2 H4325 And there was no water H5712 for the company: H6950 [H8735] and they congregated H4872 themselves together against Moses H175 and against Aaron.

3 H5971 And the people H7378 [H8799] strove H4872 with Moses, H559 [H8799] and spoke, H559 [H8800] saying, H3863 O that H1478 [H8804] we had expired H251 when our brethren H1478 [H8800] expired H6440 at the face of H3068 the LORD!

4 H935 [H8689] And why have ye brought H6951 the congregation H3068 of the LORD H4057 into this wilderness, H1165 that we and our cattle H4191 [H8800] should die there?

5 H5927 [H8689] And why have ye made us come up H4714 from Egypt, H935 [H8687] to bring H7451 us to this evil H4725 place? H4725 it is no place H2233 of seed, H8384 or of figs, H1612 or of vines, H7416 or of pomegranates; H4325 neither is there any water H8354 [H8800] to drink.

6 H4872 And Moses H175 and Aaron H935 [H8799] went H6440 from the face H6951 of the congregation H6607 to the door H168 of the tent H4150 of meeting, H5307 [H8799] and they fell H6440 upon their faces: H3519 and the glory H3068 of the LORD H7200 [H8735] appeared to them.

7 H3068 And the LORD H1696 [H8762] spoke H4872 to Moses, H559 [H8800] saying,

8 H3947 [H8798] Take H4294 the rod, H6950 [H8685] and congregate H5712 thou the company, H175 thou, and Aaron H251 thy brother, H1696 [H8765] and speak H5553 ye to the rock H5869 before their eyes; H5414 [H8804] and it shall give forth H4325 its water, H3318 [H8689] and thou shalt bring forth H4325 to them water H5553 out of the rock: H8248 [H8689] so thou shalt give water H5712 to the company H1165 and their beasts.

9 H4872 And Moses H3947 [H8799] took H4294 the rod H6440 from the face of H3068 the LORD, H6680 [H8765] as he commanded him.

10 H4872 And Moses H175 and Aaron H6950 [H8686] congregated H6951 the congregation H413 unto H6440 the face of H5553 the rock, H559 [H8799] and he said H9038 to them, H8085 [H8798] Hear H4784 [H8802] now, ye rebels; H3318 [H8686] must we fetch H4325 you water H4480 out of H5553 this rock?

11 H4872 And Moses H7311 [H8686] lifted up H3027 his hand, H4294 and with his rod H5221 [H8686] he smote H5553 the rock H6471 twice: H4325 and the water H3318 [H8799] came out H7227 abundantly, H5712 and the company H8354 [H8799] drank, H1165 and their beasts also.

12 H3068 And the LORD H559 [H8799] spoke H4872 to Moses H175 and Aaron, H539 [H8689] Because ye believed H6942 [H8687] me not, to sanctify H5869 me in the eyes H1121 of the sons H3478 of Israel, H935 [H8686] therefore ye shall not bring H6951 this congregation H776 into the land H5414 [H8804] which I have given them.

13 H1992 This is H4325 the water H4809 of Meribah; H1121 because the sons H3478 of Israel H7378 [H8804] strove H3068 with the LORD, H6942 [H8735] and he was sanctified in them.

14 H4872 And Moses H7971 [H8799] sent H4397 messengers H6946 from Kadesh H4428 to the king H123 of Edom, H559 [H8804] Thus saith H251 thy brother H3478 Israel, H3045 [H8804] Thou knowest H8513 all the travail H4672 [H8804] that hath befallen us:

15 H1 How our fathers H3381 [H8799] went down H4714 into Egypt, H3427 [H8799] and we have dwelt H4714 in Egypt H7227 a long H3117 time; H4714 and the Egyptians H7489 [H8686] afflicted H1 us, and our fathers:

16 H6817 [H8799] And when we shrieked H3068 to the LORD, H8085 [H8799] he heard H6963 our voice, H7971 [H8799] and sent H4397 a messenger, H3318 [H8686] and hath brought us forth H4714 from Egypt: H6946 and, behold, we are in Kadesh, H5892 a city H7097 in the uttermost H1366 of thy border:

17 H5674 [H8799] Let us pass, H776 I pray thee, through thy land: H5674 [H8799] we will not pass H7704 through the fields, H3754 or through the vineyards, H8354 [H8799] neither will we drink H4325 of the water H875 of the wells: H3212 [H8799] we will go H4428 by the king's H1870 highway, H5186 [H8799] we will not turn H3225 to the right hand H8040 nor to the left, H5674 [H8799] until we have passed H1366 thy borders.

18 H123 And Edom H559 [H8799] said H5674 [H8799] to him, Thou shalt not pass H3318 [H8799] by me, lest I come out H7125 [H8800] against H2719 thee with the sword.

19 H1121 And the sons H3478 of Israel H559 [H8799] said H5927 [H8799] to him, We will go H4546 by the highway: H4735 and if I and my cattle H8354 [H8799] drink H4325 of thy water, H5414 H4377 [H8804] then I will pay H1697 for it: I will only, without doing any thing H5674 [H8799] else, go through H7272 on my feet.

20 H559 [H8799] And he said, H5674 [H8799] Thou shalt not go through. H123 And Edom H3318 [H8799] came out H7125 [H8800] against H3515 him with many H5971 people, H2389 and with a strong H3027 hand.

21 H123 Thus Edom H3985 [H8762] refused H5414 [H8800] to give H3478 Israel H5674 [H8800] passage H1366 through his border: H3478 therefore Israel H5186 [H8799] turned away from him.

22 H1121 And the sons H3478 of Israel, H3605 even the whole H5712 company, H5265 [H8799] journeyed H6946 from Kadesh, H935 [H8799] and came H2022 to mount H2023 Hor.

23 H3068 And the LORD H559 [H8799] spoke H4872 to Moses H175 and Aaron H2022 in mount H2023 Hor, H1366 by the border H776 of the land H123 of Edom, H559 [H8800] saying,

24 H175 Aaron H622 [H8735] shall be gathered H5971 to his people: H935 [H8799] for he shall not enter H776 into the land H5414 [H8804] which I have given H1121 to the sons H3478 of Israel, H4784 [H8804] because ye rebelled against H6310 my mouth H4325 at the water H4809 of Meribah.

25 H3947 [H8798] Take H175 Aaron H499 and Eleazar H1121 his son, H5927 [H8685] and bring them up H2022 to mount H2023 Hor:

26 H6584 [H8685] And strip H175 Aaron H899 of his garments, H3847 [H8689] and put H499 them upon Eleazar H1121 his son: H175 and Aaron H622 [H8735] shall be gathered H4191 [H8804] to his people, and shall die there.

27 H4872 And Moses H6213 [H8799] did H3068 as the LORD H6680 [H8765] commanded: H5927 [H8799] and they went up H2022 to mount H2023 Hor H5869 in the eyes H3605 of all H5712 the company.

28 H4872 And Moses H6584 [H8686] stripped H175 Aaron H899 of his garments, H3847 [H8686] and put H499 them upon Eleazar H1121 his son; H175 and Aaron H4191 [H8799] died H7218 there on the top H2022 of the mount: H4872 and Moses H499 and Eleazar H3381 [H8799] came down H2022 from the mount.

29 H3605 And when all H5712 the company H7200 [H8799] saw H175 that Aaron H1478 [H8804] was expired, H1058 [H8799] they mourned H175 for Aaron H7970 thirty H3117 days, H3605 even all H1004 the house H3478 of Israel.
