Ia orang yang baik budi dan tidak berbuat kejahatan sedikit pun. ² Ia mempunyai tujuh orang anak laki-laki dan tiga anak perempuan. ³ Di samping itu ia mempunyai banyak budak-budak, 7.000 ekor domba, 3.000 ekor unta, 1.000 ekor sapi, dan 500 ekor keledai. Pendek kata, dia adalah orang yang paling kaya di antara penduduk daerah Timur. ⁴ Ketujuh anak laki-laki Ayub mempunyai kebiasaan untuk mengadakan pesta di rumah masing-masing secara bergilir.
