Isaiah 5

KJV_Strongs(i)
H7891 Now will I sing [H8799]   H3039 to my wellbeloved H7892 a song H1730 of my beloved H3754 touching his vineyard H3039 . My wellbeloved H3754 hath a vineyard H1121 in a very fruitful H8081   H7161 hill:
H5823 And he fenced [H8762]   H5619 it, and gathered out the stones [H8762]   H5193 thereof, and planted [H8799]   H8321 it with the choicest vine H1129 , and built [H8799]   H4026 a tower H8432 in the midst H2672 of it, and also made [H8804]   H3342 a winepress H6960 therein: and he looked [H8762]   H6213 that it should bring forth [H8800]   H6025 grapes H6213 , and it brought forth [H8799]   H891 wild grapes.
H3427 And now, O inhabitants [H8802]   H3389 of Jerusalem H376 , and men H3063 of Judah H8199 , judge [H8798]   H3754 , I pray you, betwixt me and my vineyard.
H6213 What could have been done [H8800]   H3754 more to my vineyard H6213 , that I have not done [H8804]   H4069 in it? wherefore H6960 , when I looked [H8765]   H6213 that it should bring forth [H8800]   H6025 grapes H6213 , brought it forth [H8799]   H891 wild grapes?
H3045 And now go to; I will tell [H8686]   H6213 you what I will do [H8802]   H3754 to my vineyard H5493 : I will take away [H8687]   H4881 the hedge H1197 thereof, and it shall be eaten up [H8763]   H6555 ; and break down [H8800]   H1447 the wall H4823 thereof, and it shall be trodden down:
H7896 And I will lay [H8799]   H1326 it waste H2168 : it shall not be pruned [H8735]   H5737 , nor digged [H8735]   H5927 ; but there shall come up [H8804]   H8068 briers H7898 and thorns H6680 : I will also command [H8762]   H5645 the clouds H4305 that they rain [H8687]   H4306 no rain upon it.
H3754 For the vineyard H3068 of the LORD H6635 of hosts H1004 is the house H3478 of Israel H376 , and the men H3063 of Judah H8191 his pleasant H5194 plant H6960 : and he looked [H8762]   H4941 for judgment H4939 , but behold oppression H6666 ; for righteousness H6818 , but behold a cry.
H1945 Woe H5060 unto them that join [H8688]   H1004 house H1004 to house H7126 , that lay [H8686]   H7704 field H7704 to field H657 , till there be no H4725 place H3427 , that they may be placed [H8717]   H7130 alone in the midst H776 of the earth!
H241 In mine ears H3068 said the LORD H6635 of hosts H3808 , Of a truth H7227 many H1004 houses H8047 shall be desolate H1419 , even great H2896 and fair H3427 , without inhabitant [H8802]  .
H3588 Yea H6235 , ten H6776 acres H3754 of vineyard H6213 shall yield [H8799]   H259 one H1324 bath H2233 , and the seed H2563 of an homer H6213 shall yield [H8799]   H374 an ephah.
H1945 Woe H7925 unto them that rise up early [H8688]   H1242 in the morning H7291 , that they may follow [H8799]   H7941 strong drink H309 ; that continue [H8764]   H5399 until night H3196 , till wine H1814 inflame [H8686]   them!
H3658 And the harp H5035 , and the viol H8596 , the tabret H2485 , and pipe H3196 , and wine H4960 , are in their feasts H5027 : but they regard [H8686]   H6467 not the work H3068 of the LORD H7200 , neither consider [H8804]   H4639 the operation H3027 of his hands.
H5971 Therefore my people H1540 are gone into captivity [H8804]   H1847 , because they have no knowledge H3519 : and their honourable H4962 men H7458 are famished H1995 , and their multitude H6704 dried up H6772 with thirst.
H7585 Therefore hell H7337 hath enlarged [H8689]   H5315 herself H6473 , and opened [H8804]   H6310 her mouth H2706 without measure H1926 : and their glory H1995 , and their multitude H7588 , and their pomp H5938 , and he that rejoiceth H3381 , shall descend [H8804]   into it.
H120 And the mean man H7817 shall be brought down [H8735]   H376 , and the mighty man H8213 shall be humbled [H8799]   H5869 , and the eyes H1364 of the lofty H8213 shall be humbled [H8799]  :
H3068 But the LORD H6635 of hosts H1361 shall be exalted [H8799]   H4941 in judgment H410 , and God H6918 that is holy H6942 shall be sanctified [H8738]   H6666 in righteousness.
H3532 Then shall the lambs H7462 feed [H8804]   H1699 after their manner H2723 , and the waste places H4220 of the fat ones H1481 shall strangers [H8802]   H398 eat [H8799]  .
H1945 Woe H4900 unto them that draw [H8802]   H5771 iniquity H2256 with cords H7723 of vanity H2403 , and sin H5699 as it were with a cart H5688 rope:
H559 That say [H8802]   H4116 , Let him make speed [H8762]   H2363 , and hasten [H8686]   H4639 his work H7200 , that we may see [H8799]   H6098 it : and let the counsel H6918 of the Holy One H3478 of Israel H7126 draw nigh [H8799]   H935 and come [H8799]   H3045 , that we may know [H8799]   it!
H1945 Woe H559 unto them that call [H8802]   H7451 evil H2896 good H2896 , and good H7451 evil H7760 ; that put [H8802]   H2822 darkness H216 for light H216 , and light H2822 for darkness H7760 ; that put [H8802]   H4751 bitter H4966 for sweet H4966 , and sweet H4751 for bitter!
H1945 Woe H2450 unto them that are wise H5869 in their own eyes H995 , and prudent [H8737]   H6440 in their own sight!
H1945 Woe H1368 unto them that are mighty H8354 to drink [H8800]   H3196 wine H582 , and men H2428 of strength H4537 to mingle [H8800]   H7941 strong drink:
H6663 Which justify [H8688]   H7563 the wicked H6118 for H7810 reward H5493 , and take away [H8686]   H6666 the righteousness H6662 of the righteous from him!
H784 Therefore as the fire H398 devoureth [H8800]   H7179 the stubble H3956 , and the flame H3852   H7503 consumeth [H8799]   H2842 the chaff H8328 , so their root H4716 shall be as rottenness H6525 , and their blossom H5927 shall go up [H8799]   H80 as dust H3988 : because they have cast away [H8804]   H8451 the law H3068 of the LORD H6635 of hosts H5006 , and despised [H8765]   H565 the word H6918 of the Holy One H3478 of Israel.
H639 Therefore is the anger H3068 of the LORD H2734 kindled [H8804]   H5971 against his people H5186 , and he hath stretched forth [H8799]   H3027 his hand H5221 against them, and hath smitten [H8686]   H2022 them: and the hills H7264 did tremble [H8799]   H5038 , and their carcases H5478 were torn H7130 in the midst H2351 of the streets H639 . For all this his anger H7725 is not turned away [H8804]   H3027 , but his hand H5186 is stretched out [H8803]   still.
H5375 And he will lift up [H8804]   H5251 an ensign H1471 to the nations H7350 from far H8319 , and will hiss [H8804]   H7097 unto them from the end H776 of the earth H935 : and, behold, they shall come [H8799]   H4120 with speed H7031 swiftly:
H5889 None shall be weary H3782 nor stumble [H8802]   H5123 among them; none shall slumber [H8799]   H3462 nor sleep [H8799]   H232 ; neither shall the girdle H2504 of their loins H6605 be loosed [H8738]   H8288 , nor the latchet H5275 of their shoes H5423 be broken [H8738]  :
H2671 Whose arrows H8150 are sharp [H8802]   H7198 , and all their bows H1869 bent [H8803]   H5483 , their horses H6541 ' hoofs H2803 shall be counted [H8738]   H6862 like flint H1534 , and their wheels H5492 like a whirlwind:
H7581 Their roaring H3833 shall be like a lion H7580 , they shall roar [H8799]   [H8675]   H7580   [H8804]   H3715 like young lions H5098 : yea, they shall roar [H8799]   H270 , and lay hold [H8799]   H2964 of the prey H6403 , and shall carry it away safe [H8686]   H5337 , and none shall deliver [H8688]   it .
H3117 And in that day H5098 they shall roar [H8799]   H5100 against them like the roaring H3220 of the sea H5027 : and if one look [H8765]   H776 unto the land H2822 , behold darkness H6862 and sorrow H216 , and the light H2821 is darkened [H8804]   H6183 in the heavens thereof.
ERV(i) 1 Let me sing for my wellbeloved a song of my beloved touching his vineyard. My wellbeloved had a vineyard in a very fruitful hill: 2 and he made a trench about it, and gathered out the stones thereof, and planted it with the choicest vine, and built a tower in the midst of it, and also hewed out a winepress therein: and he looked that it should bring forth grapes, and it brought forth wild grapes. 3 And now, O inhabitants of Jerusalem and men of Judah, judge, I pray you, betwixt me and my vineyard. 4 What could have been done more to my vineyard, that I have not done in it? wherefore, when I looked that it should bring forth grapes, brought it forth wild grapes? 5 And now go to; I will tell you what I will do to my vineyard: I will take away the hedge thereof, and it shall be eaten up; I will break down the fence thereof, and it shall be trodden down: 6 and I will lay it waste; it shall not be pruned nor hoed; but there shall come up briers and thorns: I will also command the clouds that they rain no rain upon it. 7 For the vineyard of the LORD of hosts is the house of Israel, and the men of Judah his pleasant plant: and he looked for judgment, but behold oppression; for righteousness, but behold a cry. 8 Woe unto them that join house to house, that lay field to field, till there be no room, and ye be made to dwell alone in the midst of the land! 9 In mine ears [saith] the LORD of hosts, Of a truth many houses shall be desolate, even great and fair, without inhabitant. 10 For ten acres of vineyard shall yield one bath, and a homer of seed shall yield [but] an ephah. 11 Woe unto them that rise up early in the morning, that they may follow strong drink; that tarry late into the night, till wine inflame them! 12 And the harp and the lute, the tabret and the pipe, and wine, are [in] their feasts: but they regard not the work of the LORD, neither have they considered the operation of his hands. 13 Therefore my people are gone into captivity, for lack of knowledge: and their honourable men are famished, and their multitude are parched with thirst. 14 Therefore hell hath enlarged her desire, and opened her mouth without measure: and their glory, and their multitude, and their pomp, and he that rejoiceth among them, descend [into it]. 15 And the mean man is bowed down, and the great man is humbled, and the eyes of the lofty are humbled: 16 but the LORD of hosts is exalted in judgment, and God the Holy One is sanctified in righteousness. 17 Then shall the lambs feed as in their pasture, and the waste places of the fat ones shall wanderers eat. 18 Woe unto them that draw iniquity with cords of vanity, and sin as it were with a cart rope: 19 that say, Let him make speed, let him hasten his work, that we may see it: and let the counsel of the Holy One of Israel draw nigh and come, that we may know it! 20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! 21 Woe unto them that are wise their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight! 22 Woe unto them that are mighty to drink wine, and men of strength to mingle strong drink: 23 which justify the wicked for a reward, and take away the righteousness of the righteous from him! 24 Therefore as the tongue of fire devoureth the stubble, and as the dry grass sinketh down in the flame, so their root shall be as rottenness, and their blossom shall go up as dust: because they have rejected the law of the LORD of hosts, and despised the word of the Holy One of Israel. 25 Therefore is the anger of the LORD kindled against his people, and he hath stretched forth his hand against them, and hath smitten them, and the hills did tremble, and their carcases were as refuse in the midst of the streets. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still. 26 And he will lift up an ensign to the nations from far, and will hiss for them from the end of the earth: and, behold, they shall come with speed swiftly: 27 None shall be weary nor stumble among them; none shall slumber nor sleep; neither shall the girdle of their loins be loosed, nor the latchet of their shoes be broken: 28 whose arrows are sharp, and all their bows bent; their horses’ hoofs shall be counted like flint, and their wheels like a whirlwind: 29 their roaring shall be like a lion, they shall roar like young lions: yea, they shall roar, and lay hold of the prey, and carry it away safe, and there shall be none to deliver. 30 And they shall roar against them in that day like the roaring of the sea: and if one look unto the land, behold darkness [and] distress, and the light is darkened in the clouds thereof.
