5 H4428 And the king's H5288 servants H559 said [H8799] H2001 unto him, Behold, Haman H5975 standeth [H8802] H2691 in the court H4428 . And the king H559 said [H8799] H935 , Let him come in [H8799] .

6 H2001 So Haman H935 came in [H8799] H4428 . And the king H559 said [H8799] H6213 unto him, What shall be done [H8800] H376 unto the man H4428 whom the king H2654 delighteth [H8804] H3366 to honour H2001 ? Now Haman H559 thought [H8799] H3820 in his heart H4428 , To whom would the king H2654 delight [H8799] H6213 to do [H8800] H3366 honour H3148 more than to myself?

7 H2001 And Haman H559 answered [H8799] H4428 the king H376 , For the man H4428 whom the king H2654 delighteth [H8804] H3366 to honour,

8 H4438 Let the royal H3830 apparel H935 be brought [H8686] H4428 which the king H3847 useth to wear [H8804] H5483 , and the horse H4428 that the king H7392 rideth [H8804] H3804 upon, and the crown H4438 royal H5414 which is set [H8738] H7218 upon his head:

9 H3830 And let this apparel H5483 and horse H5414 be delivered [H8800] H3027 to the hand H376 of one H4428 of the king's H6579 most noble H8269 princes H3847 , that they may array [H8689] H376 the man H4428 withal whom the king H2654 delighteth [H8804] H3366 to honour H7392 , and bring [H8689] H5483 him on horseback H7339 through the street H5892 of the city H7121 , and proclaim [H8804] H6440 before H6213 him, Thus shall it be done [H8735] H376 to the man H4428 whom the king H2654 delighteth [H8804] H3366 to honour.

10 H4428 Then the king H559 said [H8799] H2001 to Haman H4116 , Make haste [H8761] H3947 , and take [H8798] H3830 the apparel H5483 and the horse H1696 , as thou hast said [H8765] H6213 , and do [H8798] H4782 even so to Mordecai H3064 the Jew H3427 , that sitteth [H8802] H4428 at the king's H8179 gate H1697 : let nothing H5307 fail [H8686] H1696 of all that thou hast spoken [H8765] .

11 H3947 Then took [H8799] H2001 Haman H3830 the apparel H5483 and the horse H3847 , and arrayed [H8686] H4782 Mordecai H7392 , and brought him on horseback [H8686] H7339 through the street H5892 of the city H7121 , and proclaimed [H8799] H6440 before H6213 him, Thus shall it be done [H8735] H376 unto the man H4428 whom the king H2654 delighteth [H8804] H3366 to honour.

12 H4782 And Mordecai H7725 came again [H8799] H4428 to the king's H8179 gate H2001 . But Haman H1765 hasted [H8738] H1004 to his house H57 mourning H7218 , and having his head H2645 covered [H8802] .

13 H2001 And Haman H5608 told [H8762] H2238 Zeresh H802 his wife H157 and all his friends [H8802] H7136 every thing that had befallen [H8804] H559 him. Then said [H8799] H2450 his wise men H2238 and Zeresh H802 his wife H4782 unto him, If Mordecai H2233 be of the seed H3064 of the Jews H6440 , before H2490 whom thou hast begun [H8689] H5307 to fall [H8800] H3201 , thou shalt not prevail [H8799] H5307 against him, but shalt surely [H8800] H5307 fall [H8799] H6440 before him.

14 H1696 And while they were yet talking [H8764] H5060 with him, came [H8689] H4428 the king's H5631 chamberlains H926 , and hasted [H8686] H935 to bring [H8687] H2001 Haman H4960 unto the banquet H635 that Esther H6213 had prepared [H8804] .

Now Haman said in his heart, To whom would the king delight to do honour more than to myself? ⁷ And Haman said unto the king, For the man whom the king delighteth to honour, ⁸ let royal apparel be brought which the king useth to wear, and the horse that the king rideth upon, and on the head of which a crown royal is set: ⁹ and let the apparel and the horse be delivered to the hand of one of the king’s most noble princes, that they may array the man withal whom the king delighteth to honour, and cause him to ride on horseback through the street of the city, and proclaim before him, Thus shall it be done to the man whom the king delighteth to honour. ¹⁰ Then the king said to Haman, Make haste, and take the apparel and the horse, as thou hast said, and do even so to Mordecai the Jew, that sitteth at the king’s gate: let nothing fail of all that thou hast spoken. ¹¹ Then took Haman the apparel and the horse, and arrayed Mordecai, and caused him to ride through the street of the city, and proclaimed before him, Thus shall it be done unto the man whom the king delighteth to honour. ¹² And Mordecai came again to the king’s gate. But Haman hasted to his house, mourning and having his head covered. ¹³ And Haman recounted unto Zeresh his wife and all his friends every thing that had befallen him. Then said his wise men and Zeresh his wife unto him, If Mordecai, before whom thou hast begun to fall, be of the seed of the Jews, thou shalt not prevail against him, but shalt surely fall before him. ¹⁴ While they were yet talking with him, came the king’s chamberlains, and hasted to bring Haman unto the banquet that Esther had prepared.
