Esther 6 On that night could not the king sleep; and he commanded to bring the book of records of the chronicles, and they were read before the king.

1 H3915 On that night H5074 could not H4428 the king H8142 sleep; H559 and he commanded H935 to bring H5612 the book H2146 of records H1697 of the chronicles, H7121 and they were read H6440 before H4428 the king.

2 H4672 And it was found H3789 written, H4782 that Mordecai H5046 had told H904 of Bigthana H8657 and Teresh, H8147 two H4428 of the king's H5631 chamberlains, H8104 of those that kept H5592 the threshold, H1245 who had sought H7971 to lay H3027 hands H4428 on the king H325 Ahasuerus.

3 H4428 And the king H559 said, H3366 What honor H1420 and dignity H6213 hath been bestowed H4782 on Mordecai H559 for this? Then said H4428 the king's H5288 servants H8334 that ministered H1697 unto him, There is nothing H6213 done for him.

4 H4428 And the king H559 said, H2691 Who is in the court? H2001 Now Haman H935 was come H2435 into the outward H2691 court H4428 of the king's H1004 house, H559 to speak H4428 unto the king H8518 to hang H4782 Mordecai H6086 on the gallows H3559 that he had prepared for him.

5 H4428 And the king's H5288 servants H559 said H2001 unto him, Behold, Haman H5975 standeth H2691 in the court. H4428 And the king H559 said, H935 Let him come in.

6 H2001 So Haman H935 came in. H4428 And the king H559 said H6213 unto him, What shall be done H376 unto the man H4428 whom the king H2654 delighteth H3366 to honor? H2001 Now Haman H559 said H3820 in his heart, H4428 To whom would the king H2654 delight H6213 to do H3366 honor H3148 more than to myself?

7 H2001 And Haman H559 said H4428 unto the king, H376 For the man H4428 whom the king H2654 delighteth H3366 to honor,

8 H4438 let royal H3830 apparel H935 be brought H4428 which the king H3847 useth to wear, H5483 and the horse H4428 that the king H7392 rideth H7218 upon, and on the head H3804 of which a crown H4438 royal H5414 is set:

9 H3830 and let the apparel H5483 and the horse H5414 be delivered H3027 to the hand H376 of one H4428 of the king's H6579 most noble H8269 princes, H3847 that they may array H376 the man H4428 therewith whom the king H2654 delighteth H3366 to honor, H7392 and cause him to ride H5483 on horseback H7339 through the street H5892 of the city, H7121 and proclaim H6440 before H6213 him, Thus shall it be done H376 to the man H4428 whom the king H2654 delighteth H3366 to honor.

10 H4428 Then the king H559 said H2001 to Haman, H4116 Make haste, H3947 and take H3830 the apparel H5483 and the horse, H1696 as thou hast said, H6213 and do H4782 even so to Mordecai H3064 the Jew, H3427 that sitteth H4428 at the king's H8179 gate: H1697 let nothing H5307 fail H1696 of all that thou hast spoken.

11 H3947 Then took H2001 Haman H3830 the apparel H5483 and the horse, H3847 and arrayed H4782 Mordecai, H7392 and caused him to ride H7339 through the street H5892 of the city, H7121 and proclaimed H6440 before H6213 him, Thus shall it be done H376 unto the man H4428 whom the king H2654 delighteth H3366 to honor.

12 H4782 And Mordecai H7725 came again H4428 to the king's H8179 gate. H2001 But Haman H1765 hasted H1004 to his house, H57 mourning H7218 and having his head H2645 covered.

13 H2001 And Haman H5608 recounted H2238 unto Zeresh H802 his wife H157 and all his friends H7136 everything that had befallen H559 him. Then said H2450 his wise men H2238 and Zeresh H802 his wife H4782 unto him, If Mordecai, H6440 before H2490 whom thou hast begun H5307 to fall, H2233 be of the seed H3064 of the Jews, H3201 thou shalt not prevail H5307 against him, but shalt surely H5307 fall H6440 before him.

14 H1696 While they were yet talking H5060 with him, came H4428 the king's H5631 chamberlains, H926 and hasted H935 to bring H2001 Haman H4960 unto the banquet H635 that Esther H6213 had prepared.
