Setelah menerima petunjuk-petunjuk itu dari Yosua, pergilah mereka meninjau tanah itu. ⁹ Seluruh negeri itu mereka jelajahi, lalu mencatat batas-batas ketujuh bagian tanah itu serta mendaftar juga kota-kota yang ada di dalamnya. Kemudian mereka kembali ke Yosua di perkemahan di Silo. ¹⁰ Lalu Yosua membuang undi untuk mengetahui apa yang ditentukan TUHAN untuk mereka. Setelah itu Yosua memberikan bagian tanah kepada setiap suku bangsa Israel yang belum kebagian tanah. ¹¹ Pembagian pertama ialah tanah untuk keluarga-keluarga dalam suku Benyamin. Bagian mereka itu terletak antara tanah suku Yehuda dan tanah suku keturunan Yusuf.

Gadas, Rubenas ir pusė Manaso giminės jau gavo savo dalį anapus Jordano rytuose, kurią jiems davė Viešpaties tarnas Mozė”. ⁸ Tie vyrai pakilo eiti, o Jozuė jiems įsakė: “Eikite ir apžiūrėkite visą kraštą, jį aprašykite ir sugrįžkite pas mane! O aš čia, Sile, mesiu burtą Viešpaties akivaizdoje”. ⁹ Jie apėjo visą kraštą, jį aprašė knygose, pažymėdami miestus, ir suskirstė kraštą į septynias dalis.
