2 Kings 4 Now there cried a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets to Elisha, saying, "Your servant my husband is dead. You know that your servant feared Yahweh. Now the creditor has come to take for himself my two children to be slaves."

2 H477 Elisha H559 said H6213 to her, "What shall I do H5046 for you? Tell H3426 me: what do you have H1004 in the house?" H559 She said, H8198 "Your handmaid H1004 has nothing in the house, H610 except a pot H8081 of oil."

3 H559 Then he said, H3212 "Go, H7592 borrow H3627 containers H2351 from of all H7934 your neighbors, H7386 even empty H3627 containers. H4591 Don't borrow just a few.

4 H935 You shall go in, H5462 and shut H1817 the door H1121 on you and on your sons, H3332 and pour out H3627 into all those containers; H5265 and you shall set aside H4392 that which is full."

5 H3212 So she went H5462 from him, and shut H1817 the door H1157 on her and on H1121 her sons; H1992 they H5066 brought H3332 the containers to her, and she poured out.

6 H3627 It happened, when the containers H4390 were full, H559 that she said H1121 to her son, H5066 "Bring H3627 me another container." H559 He said H3627 to her, "There isn't another container." H8081 The oil H5975 stopped flowing.

7 H935 Then she came H5046 and told H376 the man H430 of God. H559 He said, H3212 "Go, H4376 sell H8081 the oil, H7999 and pay H5386 your debt; H1121 and you and your sons H2421 live H3498 on the rest."

8 H3117 It fell on a day, H477 that Elisha H5674 passed H7766 to Shunem, H1419 where there was a prominent H802 woman; H2388 and she persuaded H398 him to eat H3899 bread. H1767 So it was, that as often H5674 as he passed by, H5493 he turned H398 in there to eat H3899 bread.

9 H559 She said H376 to her husband, H3045 "See now, I perceive H6918 that this is a holy H376 man H430 of God, H5674 that passes H8548 by us continually.

10 H6213 Please let us make H6996 a little H5944 room H7023 on the wall. H7760 Let us set H4296 for him there a bed, H7979 a table, H3678 a chair, H4501 and a lamp H935 stand. It shall be, when he comes H5493 to us, that he shall turn in there."

14 H559 He said, H6213 "What then is to be done H1522 for her?" Gehazi H559 answered, H61 "Most certainly H1121 she has no son, H376 and her husband H2204 is old."

15 H559 He said, H7121 "Call H7121 her." When he had called H5975 her, she stood H6607 in the door.

16 H559 He said, H4150 "At this season, H6256 when the time H2416 comes around, H2263 you will embrace H1121 a son." H559 She said, H113 "No, my lord, H376 you man H430 of God, H3576 do not lie H8198 to your handmaid."

17 H802 The woman H2029 conceived, H3205 and bore H1121 a son H4150 at that season, H6256 when the time H2416 came around, H477 as Elisha H1696 had said to her.

18 H3206 When the child H1431 was grown, H3117 it happened one day H3318 that he went out H1 to his father H7114 to the reapers.

19 H559 He said H1 to his father, H7218 "My head! H7218 My head!" H559 He said H5288 to his servant, H5375 "Carry H517 him to his mother."

20 H5375 When he had taken H935 him, and brought H517 him to his mother, H3427 he sat H1290 on her knees H6672 until noon, H4191 and then died.

21 H5927 She went up H7901 and laid H4296 him on the bed H376 of the man H430 of God, H5462 and shut H3318 the door on him, and went out.

26 H7323 Please run H7125 now to meet H559 her, and ask H7965 her, ‘Is it well H7965 with you? Is it well H376 with your husband? H7965 Is it well H3206 with the child?'" H559 She answered, H7965 "It is well."

27 H935 When she came H376 to the man H430 of God H2022 to the hill, H2388 she caught H7272 hold of his feet. H1522 Gehazi H5066 came near H1920 to thrust her away; H376 but the man H430 of God H559 said, H7503 "Leave her alone; H5315 for her soul H4843 is troubled H3068 within her; and Yahweh H5956 has hidden H5046 it from me, and has not told me."

28 H559 Then she said, H7592 "Did I desire H1121 a son H113 of my lord? H559 Didn't I say, H7952 Do not deceive me?"

29 H559 Then he said H1522 to Gehazi, H4975 "Tuck your cloak H2296 into your belt, H3947 take H4938 my staff H3027 in your hand, H3212 and go your way. H4672 If you meet H376 any man, H1288 don't greet H376 him; and if anyone H1288 greets H6030 you, don't answer him again. H7760 Then lay H4938 my staff H6440 on the face H5288 of the child."

30 H517 The mother H5288 of the child H559 said, H3068 "As Yahweh H2416 lives, H5315 and as your soul H2416 lives, H5800 I will not leave H6965 you." He arose, H3212 and followed her.

31 H1522 Gehazi H5674 passed on H6440 before H7760 them, and laid H4938 the staff H6440 on the face H5288 of the child; H6963 but there was neither voice, H7182 nor hearing. H7725 Therefore he returned H7125 to meet H5046 him, and told H559 him, saying, H5288 "The child H6974 has not awakened."

32 H477 When Elisha H935 had come H1004 into the house, H5288 behold, the child H4191 was dead, H7901 and laid H4296 on his bed.

33 H935 He went in H5462 therefore, and shut H1817 the door H8147 on them both, H6419 and prayed H3068 to Yahweh.

34 H5927 He went up, H7901 and lay H3206 on the child, H7760 and put H6310 his mouth H6310 on his mouth, H5869 and his eyes H5869 on his eyes, H3709 and his hands H3709 on his hands. H1457 He stretched H1320 himself on him; and the flesh H3206 of the child H2552 grew warm.

35 H7725 Then he returned, H3212 and walked H1004 in the house H259 once back H259 and forth; H5927 and went up, H1457 and stretched H5288 himself on him. Then the child H2237 sneezed H7651 seven H6471 times, H5288 and the child H6491 opened H5869 his eyes.

36 H7121 He called H1522 Gehazi, H559 and said, H7121 "Call H7767 this Shunammite!" H7121 So he called H935 her. When she had come in H559 to him, he said, H5375 "Take up H1121 your son."

37 H935 Then she went in, H5307 and fell H7272 at his feet, H7812 and bowed H776 herself to the ground; H5375 and she took up H1121 her son, H3318 and went out.

38 H477 Elisha H7725 came again H1537 to Gilgal. H7458 There was a famine H776 in the land; H1121 and the sons H5030 of the prophets H3427 were sitting H6440 before H559 him; and he said H5288 to his servant, H8239 "Set H1419 on the great H5518 pot, H1310 and boil H5138 stew H1121 for the sons H5030 of the prophets."

39 H259 One H3318 went out H7704 into the field H3950 to gather H219 herbs, H4672 and found H7704 a wild H1612 vine, H3950 and gathered H7704 of it wild H6498 gourds H899 his lap H4393 full, H935 and came H6398 and shred H5518 them into the pot H5138 of stew; H3045 for they didn't recognize them.

40 H3332 So they poured out H582 for the men H398 to eat. H398 It happened, as they were eating H5138 of the stew, H6817 that they cried out, H559 and said, H376 "Man H430 of God, H4194 there is death H5518 in the pot!" H3201 They could H398 not eat of it.

41 H559 But he said, H3947 "Then bring H7058 meal." H7993 He cast H5518 it into the pot; H559 and he said, H3332 "Pour out H5971 for the people, H398 that they may eat." H1697 There was no harm H5518 in the pot.

42 H376 A man H935 from Baal Shalishah came, H935 and brought H376 the man H430 of God H3899 bread H1061 of the first H1061 fruits, H6242 twenty H3899 loaves H8184 of barley, H3759 and fresh ears of grain H6861 in his sack. H559 He said, H5414 "Give H5971 to the people, H398 that they may eat."

43 H8334 His servant H559 said, H5414 "What, should I set H6440 this before H3967 a hundred H376 men?" H559 But he said, H5414 "Give H5971 the people, H398 that they may eat; H559 for thus says H3068 Yahweh, H398 ‘They will eat, H3498 and will have some left over.'"

44 H5414 So he set H6440 it before H398 them, and they ate, H3498 and left H1697 some of it, according to the word H3068 of Yahweh.
