Deuteronomy 9

KJV_Strongs(i)
H8085 Hear [H8798]   H3478 , O Israel H5674 : Thou art to pass over [H8802]   H3383 Jordan H3117 this day H935 , to go in [H8800]   H3423 to possess [H8800]   H1471 nations H1419 greater H6099 and mightier H5892 than thyself, cities H1419 great H1219 and fenced up [H8803]   H8064 to heaven,
H5971 A people H1419 great H7311 and tall [H8802]   H1121 , the children H6062 of the Anakims H3045 , whom thou knowest [H8804]   H8085 , and of whom thou hast heard [H8804]   H3320 say, Who can stand [H8691]   H6440 before H1121 the children H6061 of Anak!
H3045 Understand [H8804]   H3117 therefore this day H3068 , that the LORD H430 thy God H5674 is he which goeth over [H8802]   H6440 before H398 thee; as a consuming [H8802]   H784 fire H8045 he shall destroy [H8686]   H3665 them, and he shall bring them down [H8686]   H6440 before thy face H3423 : so shalt thou drive them out [H8689]   H6 , and destroy [H8689]   H4118 them quickly H3068 , as the LORD H1696 hath said [H8765]   unto thee.
H559 Speak [H8799]   H3824 not thou in thine heart H3068 , after that the LORD H430 thy God H1920 hath cast them out [H8800]   H6440 from before H559 thee, saying [H8800]   H6666 , For my righteousness H3068 the LORD H935 hath brought me in [H8689]   H3423 to possess [H8800]   H776 this land H7564 : but for the wickedness H1471 of these nations H3068 the LORD H3423 doth drive them out [H8688]   H6440 from before thee.
H6666 Not for thy righteousness H3476 , or for the uprightness H3824 of thine heart H935 , dost thou go [H8802]   H3423 to possess [H8800]   H776 their land H7564 : but for the wickedness H1471 of these nations H3068 the LORD H430 thy God H3423 doth drive them out [H8688]   H6440 from before H6965 thee, and that he may perform [H8687]   H1697 the word H3068 which the LORD H7650 sware [H8738]   H1 unto thy fathers H85 , Abraham H3327 , Isaac H3290 , and Jacob.
H3045 Understand [H8804]   H3068 therefore, that the LORD H430 thy God H5414 giveth [H8802]   H2896 thee not this good H776 land H3423 to possess [H8800]   H6666 it for thy righteousness H6203 ; for thou art a stiffnecked H7186   H5971 people.
H2142 Remember [H8798]   H7911 , and forget [H8799]   H3068 not, how thou provokedst the LORD H430 thy God H7107 to wrath [H8689]   H4057 in the wilderness H4480 : from H3117 the day H3318 that thou didst depart out [H8804]   H776 of the land H4714 of Egypt H935 , until ye came [H8800]   H4725 unto this place H4784 , ye have been rebellious [H8688]   H5973 against H3068 the LORD.
H2722 Also in Horeb H7107 ye provoked H3068 the LORD H7107 to wrath [H8689]   H3068 , so that the LORD H599 was angry [H8691]   H8045 with you to have destroyed [H8687]   you.
H5927 When I was gone up [H8800]   H2022 into the mount H3947 to receive [H8800]   H3871 the tables H68 of stone H3871 , even the tables H1285 of the covenant H3068 which the LORD H3772 made [H8804]   H3427 with you, then I abode [H8799]   H2022 in the mount H705 forty H3117 days H705 and forty H3915 nights H398 , I neither did eat [H8804]   H3899 bread H8354 nor drink [H8804]   H4325 water:
H3068 And the LORD H5414 delivered [H8799]   H8147 unto me two H3871 tables H68 of stone H3789 written [H8803]   H676 with the finger H430 of God H1697 ; and on them was written according to all the words H3068 , which the LORD H1696 spake [H8765]   H2022 with you in the mount H8432 out of the midst H784 of the fire H3117 in the day H6951 of the assembly.
H7093 And it came to pass at the end H705 of forty H3117 days H705 and forty H3915 nights H3068 , that the LORD H5414 gave [H8804]   H8147 me the two H3871 tables H68 of stone H3871 , even the tables H1285 of the covenant.
H3068 And the LORD H559 said [H8799]   H6965 unto me, Arise [H8798]   H3381 , get thee down [H8798]   H4118 quickly H5971 from hence; for thy people H3318 which thou hast brought forth [H8689]   H4714 out of Egypt H7843 have corrupted [H8765]   H4118 themselves; they are quickly H5493 turned aside [H8804]   H1870 out of the way H6680 which I commanded [H8765]   H6213 them; they have made [H8804]   H4541 them a molten image.
H3068 Furthermore the LORD H559 spake [H8799]   H559 unto me, saying [H8800]   H7200 , I have seen [H8804]   H5971 this people H6203 , and, behold, it is a stiffnecked H7186   H5971 people:
H7503 Let me alone [H8685]   H8045 , that I may destroy [H8686]   H4229 them, and blot out [H8799]   H8034 their name H8064 from under heaven H6213 : and I will make [H8799]   H854 of H1471 thee a nation H6099 mightier H7227 and greater than they.
H6437 So I turned [H8799]   H3381 and came down [H8799]   H2022 from the mount H2022 , and the mount H1197 burned [H8802]   H784 with fire H8147 : and the two H3871 tables H1285 of the covenant H8147 were in my two H3027 hands.
H7200 And I looked [H8799]   H2398 , and, behold, ye had sinned [H8804]   H3068 against the LORD H430 your God H6213 , and had made [H8804]   H4541 you a molten H5695 calf H5493 : ye had turned aside [H8804]   H4118 quickly H1870 out of the way H3068 which the LORD H6680 had commanded [H8765]   you.
H8610 And I took [H8799]   H8147 the two H3871 tables H7993 , and cast [H8686]   H5921 them out of H8147 my two H3027 hands H7665 , and brake [H8762]   H5869 them before your eyes.
H5307 And I fell down [H8691]   H6440 before H3068 the LORD H7223 , as at the first H705 , forty H3117 days H705 and forty H3915 nights H398 : I did neither eat [H8804]   H3899 bread H8354 , nor drink [H8804]   H4325 water H2403 , because of all your sins H2398 which ye sinned [H8804]   H6213 , in doing [H8800]   H7451 wickedly H5869 in the sight H3068 of the LORD H3707 , to provoke him to anger [H8687]  .
H3025 For I was afraid [H8804]   H6440 of H639 the anger H2534 and hot displeasure H3068 , wherewith the LORD H7107 was wroth [H8804]   H8045 against you to destroy [H8687]   H3068 you. But the LORD H8085 hearkened [H8799]   H6471 unto me at that time also.
H3068 And the LORD H3966 was very H599 angry [H8694]   H175 with Aaron H8045 to have destroyed [H8687]   H6419 him: and I prayed [H8691]   H175 for Aaron H6256 also the same time.
H3947 And I took [H8804]   H2403 your sin H5695 , the calf H6213 which ye had made [H8804]   H8313 , and burnt [H8799]   H784 it with fire H3807 , and stamped [H8799]   H2912 it, and ground [H8800]   H3190 it very small [H8687]   H1854 , even until it was as small [H8804]   H6083 as dust H7993 : and I cast [H8686]   H6083 the dust H5158 thereof into the brook H3381 that descended out [H8802]   H2022 of the mount.
H8404 And at Taberah H4532 , and at Massah H6914 , and at Kibrothhattaavah H3068 , ye provoked the LORD H7107 to wrath [H8688]  .
H3068 Likewise when the LORD H7971 sent [H8800]   H6947 you from Kadeshbarnea H559 , saying [H8800]   H5927 , Go up [H8798]   H3423 and possess [H8798]   H776 the land H5414 which I have given [H8804]   H4784 you; then ye rebelled [H8686]   H6310 against the commandment H3068 of the LORD H430 your God H539 , and ye believed [H8689]   H8085 him not, nor hearkened [H8804]   H6963 to his voice.
H4784 Ye have been rebellious [H8688]   H3068 against the LORD H3117 from the day H3045 that I knew [H8800]   you.
H5307 Thus I fell down [H8691]   H6440 before H3068 the LORD H705 forty H3117 days H705 and forty H3915 nights H5307 , as I fell down [H8694]   H3068 at the first; because the LORD H559 had said [H8804]   H8045 he would destroy [H8687]   you.
H6419 I prayed [H8691]   H3068 therefore unto the LORD H559 , and said [H8799]   H136 , O Lord H3069 GOD H7843 , destroy [H8686]   H5971 not thy people H5159 and thine inheritance H6299 , which thou hast redeemed [H8804]   H1433 through thy greatness H3318 , which thou hast brought forth [H8689]   H4714 out of Egypt H2389 with a mighty H3027 hand.
H2142 Remember [H8798]   H5650 thy servants H85 , Abraham H3327 , Isaac H3290 , and Jacob H6437 ; look [H8799]   H7190 not unto the stubbornness H5971 of this people H7562 , nor to their wickedness H2403 , nor to their sin:
H776 Lest the land H3318 whence thou broughtest us out [H8689]   H559 say [H8799]   H3068 , Because the LORD H3201 was not able [H8800]   H935 to bring [H8687]   H776 them into the land H1696 which he promised [H8765]   H8135 them, and because he hated H3318 them, he hath brought them out [H8689]   H4191 to slay [H8687]   H4057 them in the wilderness.
H5971 Yet they are thy people H5159 and thine inheritance H3318 , which thou broughtest out [H8689]   H1419 by thy mighty H3581 power H5186 and by thy stretched out [H8803]   H2220 arm.
KJV(i) 1 Hear, O Israel: Thou art to pass over Jordan this day, to go in to possess nations greater and mightier than thyself, cities great and fenced up to heaven, 2 A people great and tall, the children of the Anakims, whom thou knowest, and of whom thou hast heard say, Who can stand before the children of Anak! 3 Understand therefore this day, that the LORD thy God is he which goeth over before thee; as a consuming fire he shall destroy them, and he shall bring them down before thy face: so shalt thou drive them out, and destroy them quickly, as the LORD hath said unto thee. 4 Speak not thou in thine heart, after that the LORD thy God hath cast them out from before thee, saying, For my righteousness the LORD hath brought me in to possess this land: but for the wickedness of these nations the LORD doth drive them out from before thee. 5 Not for thy righteousness, or for the uprightness of thine heart, dost thou go to possess their land: but for the wickedness of these nations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee, and that he may perform the word which the LORD sware unto thy fathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. 6 Understand therefore, that the LORD thy God giveth thee not this good land to possess it for thy righteousness; for thou art a stiffnecked people. 7 Remember, and forget not, how thou provokedst the LORD thy God to wrath in the wilderness: from the day that thou didst depart out of the land of Egypt, until ye came unto this place, ye have been rebellious against the LORD. 8 Also in Horeb ye provoked the LORD to wrath, so that the LORD was angry with you to have destroyed you. 9 When I was gone up into the mount to receive the tables of stone, even the tables of the covenant which the LORD made with you, then I abode in the mount forty days and forty nights, I neither did eat bread nor drink water: 10 And the LORD delivered unto me two tables of stone written with the finger of God; and on them was written according to all the words, which the LORD spake with you in the mount out of the midst of the fire in the day of the assembly. 11 And it came to pass at the end of forty days and forty nights, that the LORD gave me the two tables of stone, even the tables of the covenant. 12 And the LORD said unto me, Arise, get thee down quickly from hence; for thy people which thou hast brought forth out of Egypt have corrupted themselves; they are quickly turned aside out of the way which I commanded them; they have made them a molten image. 13 Furthermore the LORD spake unto me, saying, I have seen this people, and, behold, it is a stiffnecked people: 14 Let me alone, that I may destroy them, and blot out their name from under heaven: and I will make of thee a nation mightier and greater than they. 15 So I turned and came down from the mount, and the mount burned with fire: and the two tables of the covenant were in my two hands. 16 And I looked, and, behold, ye had sinned against the LORD your God, and had made you a molten calf: ye had turned aside quickly out of the way which the LORD had commanded you. 17 And I took the two tables, and cast them out of my two hands, and brake them before your eyes. 18 And I fell down before the LORD, as at the first, forty days and forty nights: I did neither eat bread, nor drink water, because of all your sins which ye sinned, in doing wickedly in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger. 19 For I was afraid of the anger and hot displeasure, wherewith the LORD was wroth against you to destroy you. But the LORD hearkened unto me at that time also. 20 And the LORD was very angry with Aaron to have destroyed him: and I prayed for Aaron also the same time. 21 And I took your sin, the calf which ye had made, and burnt it with fire, and stamped it, and ground it very small, even until it was as small as dust: and I cast the dust thereof into the brook that descended out of the mount. 22 And at Taberah, and at Massah, and at Kibrothhattaavah, ye provoked the LORD to wrath. 23 Likewise when the LORD sent you from Kadeshbarnea, saying, Go up and possess the land which I have given you; then ye rebelled against the commandment of the LORD your God, and ye believed him not, nor hearkened to his voice. 24 Ye have been rebellious against the LORD from the day that I knew you. 25 Thus I fell down before the LORD forty days and forty nights, as I fell down at the first; because the LORD had said he would destroy you. 26 I prayed therefore unto the LORD, and said, O Lord GOD, destroy not thy people and thine inheritance, which thou hast redeemed through thy greatness, which thou hast brought forth out of Egypt with a mighty hand. 27 Remember thy servants, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob; look not unto the stubbornness of this people, nor to their wickedness, nor to their sin: 28 Lest the land whence thou broughtest us out say, Because the LORD was not able to bring them into the land which he promised them, and because he hated them, he hath brought them out to slay them in the wilderness. 29 Yet they are thy people and thine inheritance, which thou broughtest out by thy mighty power and by thy stretched out arm.
