Joshua 3 וישׁכם rose early יהושׁע And Joshua בבקר in the morning; ויסעו and they removed מהשׁטים ויבאו and came עד to הירדן Jordan, הוא he וכל and all בני the children ישׂראל of Israel, וילנו and lodged שׁם there טרם before יעברו׃ they passed over.

1 H7925 וישׁכם rose early H3091 יהושׁע And Joshua H1242 בבקר in the morning; H5265 ויסעו and they removed H7851 מהשׁטים H935 ויבאו and came H5704 עד to H3383 הירדן Jordan, H1931 הוא he H3605 וכל and all H1121 בני the children H3478 ישׂראל of Israel, H3885 וילנו and lodged H8033 שׁם there H2962 טרם before H5674 יעברו׃ they passed over.

2 H1961 ויהי And it came to pass H7097 מקצה after H7969 שׁלשׁת three H3117 ימים days, H5674 ויעברו went H7860 השׁטרים that the officers H7130 בקרב through H4264 המחנה׃ the host;

3 H6680 ויצוו And they commanded H853 את H5971 העם the people, H559 לאמר saying, H7200 כראותכם When ye see H853 את H727 ארון the ark H1285 ברית of the covenant H3068 יהוה of the LORD H430 אלהיכם your God, H3548 והכהנים and the priests H3881 הלוים the Levites H5375 נשׂאים bearing H853 אתו H859 ואתם it, then ye H5265 תסעו shall remove H4725 ממקומכם from your place, H1980 והלכתם and go H310 אחריו׃ after

4 H389 אך Yet H7350 רחוק a space H1961 יהיה there shall be H996 ביניכם between H996 ובינו H505 כאלפים you and it, about two thousand H520 אמה cubits H4060 במדה by measure: H408 אל come not near H7126 תקרבו come not near H413 אליו unto H4616 למען it, that H834 אשׁר it, that H3045 תדעו ye may know H853 את H1870 הדרך the way H834 אשׁר by which H1980 תלכו ye must go: H3588 בה כי for H3808 לא ye have not H5674 עברתם passed H1870 בדרך way H8543 מתמול H8032 שׁלשׁום׃

5 H559 ויאמר said H3091 יהושׁע And Joshua H413 אל unto H5971 העם the people, H6942 התקדשׁו Sanctify yourselves: H3588 כי for H4279 מחר tomorrow H6213 יעשׂה will do H3068 יהוה the LORD H7130 בקרבכם among H6381 נפלאות׃ wonders

6 H559 ויאמר spoke H3091 יהושׁע And Joshua H413 אל unto H3548 הכהנים the priests, H559 לאמר saying, H5375 שׂאו Take up H853 את H727 ארון the ark H1285 הברית of the covenant, H5674 ועברו and pass over H6440 לפני before H5971 העם the people. H5375 וישׂאו And they took up H853 את H727 ארון the ark H1285 הברית of the covenant, H1980 וילכו and went H6440 לפני before H5971 העם׃ the people.

7 H559 ויאמר said H3068 יהוה And the LORD H413 אל unto H3091 יהושׁע Joshua, H3117 היום day H2088 הזה This H2490 אחל will I begin H1431 גדלך to magnify H5869 בעיני thee in the sight H3605 כל of all H3478 ישׂראל Israel, H834 אשׁר that H3045 ידעון they may know H3588 כי that, H834 כאשׁר as H1961 הייתי I was H5973 עם with H4872 משׁה Moses, H1961 אהיה I will be H5973 עמך׃ with

8 H859 ואתה And thou H6680 תצוה shalt command H853 את H3548 הכהנים the priests H5375 נשׂאי that bear H727 ארון the ark H1285 הברית of the covenant, H559 לאמר saying, H935 כבאכם When ye are come H5704 עד to H7097 קצה the brink H4325 מי of the water H3383 הירדן of Jordan, H3383 בירדן in Jordan. H5975 תעמדו׃ ye shall stand still

9 H559 ויאמר said H3091 יהושׁע And Joshua H413 אל unto H1121 בני the children H3478 ישׂראל of Israel, H5066 גשׁו Come H2008 הנה hither, H8085 ושׁמעו and hear H853 את H1697 דברי the words H3068 יהוה of the LORD H430 אלהיכם׃ your God.

10 H559 ויאמר said, H3091 יהושׁע And Joshua H2063 בזאת Hereby H3045 תדעון ye shall know H3588 כי that H410 אל God H2416 חי the living H7130 בקרבכם among H3423 והורשׁ you, and he will without fail drive out H3423 יורישׁ you, and he will without fail drive out H6440 מפניכם from before H853 את H3669 הכנעני you the Canaanites, H853 ואת H2850 החתי and the Hittites, H853 ואת H2340 החוי and the Hivites, H853 ואת H6522 הפרזי and the Perizzites, H853 ואת H1622 הגרגשׁי and the Girgashites, H567 והאמרי and the Amorites, H2983 והיבוסי׃ and the Jebusites.

11 H2009 הנה Behold, H727 ארון the ark H1285 הברית of the covenant H136 אדון H3605 כל of all H776 הארץ the earth H5674 עבר passeth over H6440 לפניכם before H3383 בירדן׃ you into Jordan.

12 H6258 ועתה Now H3947 קחו therefore take H8147 לכם שׁני you twelve H6240 עשׂר you twelve H376 אישׁ men H7626 משׁבטי out of the tribes H3478 ישׂראל of Israel, H376 אישׁ out of every tribe a man. H259 אחד H376 אישׁ H259 אחד H7626 לשׁבט׃

13 H1961 והיה And it shall come to pass, H5117 כנוח shall rest H3709 כפות as soon as the soles H7272 רגלי of the feet H3548 הכהנים of the priests H5375 נשׂאי that bear H727 ארון the ark H3068 יהוה of the LORD, H136 אדון H3605 כל of all H776 הארץ the earth, H4325 במי in the waters H3383 הירדן of Jordan, H4325 מי the waters H3383 הירדן of Jordan H3772 יכרתון shall be cut off H4325 המים the waters H3381 הירדים that come down H4605 מלמעלה from above; H5975 ויעמדו and they shall stand H5067 נד heap. H259 אחד׃ upon a

14 H1961 ויהי And it came to pass, H5265 בנסע removed H5971 העם when the people H168 מאהליהם from their tents, H5674 לעבר to pass over H853 את H3383 הירדן Jordan, H3548 והכהנים and the priests H5375 נשׂאי bearing H727 הארון the ark H1285 הברית of the covenant H6440 לפני before H5971 העם׃ the people;

15 H935 וכבוא were come H5375 נשׂאי And as they that bore H727 הארון the ark H5704 עד unto H3383 הירדן Jordan, H7272 ורגלי and the feet H3548 הכהנים of the priests H5375 נשׂאי that bore H727 הארון the ark H2881 נטבלו were dipped H7097 בקצה in the brim H4325 המים of the water, H3383 והירדן (for Jordan H4390 מלא overfloweth H5921 על overfloweth H3605 כל all H1415 גדותיו his banks H3605 כל all H3117 ימי the time H7105 קציר׃ of harvest,)

16 H5975 ויעמדו stood H4325 המים That the waters H3381 הירדים which came down H4605 מלמעלה from above H6965 קמו rose up H5067 נד heap H259 אחד upon a H7368 הרחק far H3966 מאד very H121 באדם H5892 העיר from the city H834 אשׁר that H6654 מצד beside H6891 צרתן Zaretan: H3381 והירדים and those that came down H5921 על toward H3220 ים the sea H6160 הערבה of the plain, H3220 ים sea, H4417 המלח the salt H8552 תמו failed, H3772 נכרתו were cut off: H5971 והעם and the people H5674 עברו passed over H5048 נגד right against H3405 יריחו׃ Jericho.

17 H5975 ויעמדו stood H3548 הכהנים And the priests H5375 נשׂאי that bore H727 הארון the ark H1285 ברית of the covenant H3068 יהוה of the LORD H2724 בחרבה on dry ground H8432 בתוך in the midst H3383 הירדן of Jordan, H3559 הכן firm H3605 וכל and all H3478 ישׂראל the Israelites H5674 עברים passed over H2724 בחרבה on dry ground, H5704 עד until H834 אשׁר until H8552 תמו clean H3605 כל all H1471 הגוי the people H5674 לעבר were passed H853 את H3383 הירדן׃ Jordan.
