12 H6965 [H8799] And I arose H3915 in the night, H4592 I and some H4592 few H582 men H5046 [H8689] with me; neither told H120 I any man H430 what my God H5414 [H8802] had put H3820 in my heart H6213 [H8800] to do H3389 at Jerusalem: H929 neither was there any beast H929 with me, except the beast H7392 [H8802] that I rode upon.
13 H3318 [H8799] And I went out H3915 by night H8179 by the gate H1516 of the valley, H6440 even at the face of H8577 the dragon H5869 H5886 [H8677] well, H830 and to the dung H8179 port, H7663 H7665 [H8802] and viewed H2346 the walls H3389 of Jerusalem, H6555 [H8803] which were broken down, H8179 and their gates H398 [H8795] were consumed H784 with fire.
14 H5674 [H8799] Then I went on H8179 to the gate H5869 of the fountain, H4428 and to the king's H1295 pool: H4725 but there was no place H929 for the beast H5674 [H8800] that was under me to pass.
15 H5927 [H8802] Then I went up H3915 in the night H5158 by the brook, H7663 H7665 [H8802] and viewed H2346 the wall, H7725 [H8799] and turned back, H935 [H8799] and entered H8179 by the gate H1516 of the valley, H7725 [H8799] and so returned.
16 H5461 And the rulers H3045 [H8804] knew H1980 [H8804] not where I went, H6213 [H8802] or what I did; H3651 neither had I as yet H5046 [H8689] told H3064 it to the Judeans, H3548 nor to the priests, H2715 nor to the nobles, H5461 nor to the rulers, H3499 nor to the rest H6213 [H8802] that did H4399 the work.
17 H559 [H8799] Then said H7200 [H8802] I to them, Ye see H7451 the distress H3389 that we are in, how Jerusalem H2720 lieth waste, H8179 and its gates H3341 [H8738] are burned H784 with fire: H3212 [H8798] come, H1129 [H8799] and let us build up H2346 the wall H3389 of Jerusalem, H2781 that we may be no more a reproach.
18 H5046 [H8686] Then I told H3027 them of the hand H430 of my God H2896 which was good H4428 upon me; as also the king's H1697 words H559 [H8804] that he had spoken H559 [H8799] to me. And they said, H6965 [H8799] Let us rise H1129 [H8804] and build. H2388 [H8762] So they strengthened H3027 their hands H2896 for this good work.
19 H5571 But when Sanballat H2772 the Horonite, H2900 and Tobiah H5650 the servant, H5984 the Ammonite, H1654 and Geshem H6163 the Arabian, H8085 [H8799] heard H3932 [H8686] it, they mocked, H959 [H8799] and despised H559 [H8799] us, and said, H1697 What is this thing H6213 [H8802] that ye do? H4775 [H8802] will ye rebel H4428 against the king?
20 H7725 H1697 [H8686] Then I answered H559 [H8799] them, and said H430 to them, The God H8064 of heaven, H6743 [H8686] he will prosper H5650 us; therefore we his servants H6965 [H8799] will arise H1129 [H8804] and build: H2506 but ye have no portion, H6666 nor right, H2146 nor memorial, H3389 in Jerusalem.

Thomson(i) 12 I arose by night, I and a few men with me, but I did not tell a man what God had put into my heart to do for Jerusalem; and there was not a beast with me but that on which I rode; 13 and I went out at the gate Golela on to the mouth of the well of fig trees, and on to the dung gate, tracing the wall of Jerusalem which had been demolished, and the gates of which were burned with fire. 14 Then I passed on to the gate of Ain and to the king's pool. But there being no place for the beast under me to pass, 15 I continued going up by night along the wall of the valley. And having hastily traced the wall, and come to the valley gate, I returned. 16 Now the watchmen did not know why I went nor what I was doing; for I had not yet told the Jews, nor the priests, nor the nobles, nor the officers of the army, nor the rest who were to do the work. 17 Then I said to them, You see the distress in which we are! How Jerusalem is a waste, and the gates thereof have been given to the flames. Come, let us build up the wall of Jerusalem that we may no longer be a reproach. 18 And when I told them of the good hand of God which was upon me, and the words which the king spoke to me, and said, Let us arise and build; their hands were strengthened for this good work. 19 But when Sanaballat the Aronite, and Tobia the servant the Ammonite and Gesem the Arab heard, they laughed at us, and came to us and said, What is this which you are doing? Are you going to rebel against the king? 20 In reply to which I said, The God of heaven will prosper us, as we his servants are pure and will go on with the building; but you have no portion, nor right, nor memorial in Jerusalem.

Rotherham(i) 12 Then rose I by night, I, and a few men with me, I having told no man, what, my God, had been putting in my heart, to do for Jerusalem,––and, beast, was there none with me, save the beast on which, I myself, was riding. 13 So I went forth through the valley–gate by night, even unto the front of the snake–fountain, and into the dung–gate,––and I viewed the walls of Jerusalem, how, they, were broken down, and, the gates thereof, consumed with fire. 14 Then passed I over unto the fountain–gate, and unto the pool of the king,––but there was no place for the beast that was under me to pass. 15 Then went I up in the torrent–bed, by night, and viewed the wall,––and turned back, and entered by the valley–gate, and so returned. 16 Now, the deputies, knew not whither I had gone, nor what I was doing,––not even to the Jews, nor to the priests, nor to the nobles, nor to the deputies, nor to the rest who were doing the work, had I as yet told it. 17 So I said unto them, Ye, can see the misfortune that, we, are in, how that, Jerusalem, lieth waste, and, the gates thereof, are burned with fire: Come, and let us build the wall of Jerusalem, that we may remain, no longer, a reproach. 18 Then told I them, of the hand of my God, that, it, had been good upon me, as also of the words of the king, which he had spoken unto me,––so they said, We will arise and build! and they strengthened their hands right well. 19 But, when Sanballat the Horonite, and Tobiah the servant the Ammonite, and Geshem the Arabian, heard it, they laughed at us, and poured contempt upon us,––and said, What is this thing which ye would do? against the king, would ye rebel? 20 Then answered I them, and said to them––The God of the heavens––he, will prosper us, therefore, we his servants, will arise and build,––But, to you, pertaineth no portion, nor right, nor memorial, in Jerusalem.

BBE(i) 12 And in the night I got up, taking with me a small band of men; I said nothing to any man of what God had put into my heart to do for Jerusalem: and I had no beast with me but the one on which I was seated. 13 And I went out by night, through the doorway of the valley, and past the dragon's water-spring as far as the place where waste material was put, viewing the walls of Jerusalem which were broken down, and the doorways which had been burned with fire. 14 Then I went on to the door of the fountain and to the king's pool: but there was no room for my beast to get through. 15 Then in the night, I went up by the stream, viewing the wall; then turning back, I went in by the door in the valley, and so came back. 16 And the chiefs had no knowledge of where I had been or what I was doing; and I had not then said anything to the Jews or to the priests or the great ones or the chiefs or the rest of those who were doing the work. 17 Then I said to them, You see what a bad condition we are in; how Jerusalem is a waste, and its doorways burned with fire: come, let us get to work, building up the wall of Jerusalem, so that we may no longer be put to shame. 18 Then I gave them an account of how the hand of my God was on me, helping me; and of the king's words which he had said to me. And they said, Let us get to work on the building. So they made their hands strong for the good work. 19 But Sanballat the Horonite and Tobiah the servant, the Ammonite, and Geshem the Arabian, hearing of it, made sport of us, laughing at us and saying, What are you doing? will you go against the king? 20 Then answering them I said, The God of heaven, he will be our help; so we his servants will go on with our building: but you have no part or right or any name in Jerusalem.

NSB(i) 12 I got up in the night and took a small band of men with me. I said nothing to any man of what God put into my heart to do for Jerusalem, I had no beast with me but the one on which I was seated. 13 I went in the dark through the gateway of the valley past the Fountain of the Snake (Serpent’s Well) as far as the place where waste material was stored. From there I viewed the broken down walls of Jerusalem and the gateways that were burned with fire. 14 Then I went on to the door of the fountain and to the king's pool: but there was no room for my beast to get through. 15 Then in the night I went up by the stream, viewed the wall and then turned back. I went in by the valley gate. 16 The chiefs had no knowledge of where I had been or what I was doing. I had not then said anything to the Jews or to the priests or the great ones or the chiefs or the rest of those who were doing the work. 17 Then I said to them: »You see what a bad condition we are in. How Jerusalem is a waste. It’s gateways burned with fire. Come; let us get to work, building up the wall of Jerusalem, so that we may no longer be put to shame.« 18 Then I gave them an account of how the hand of my God was on me, helping me. I told them of the king's words he said to me. They said: »Let us get to work on the building.« So they made their hands strong for the good work. 19 But Sanballat the Horonite and Tobiah the servant, the Ammonite, and Geshem the Arabian, hearing of it, made sport of us. They laughed at us and said: »What are you doing? Will you go against the king?« 20 I answered them: »The God of heaven will be our help; so we, his servants, will go on with our building. But you have no part or right or any name in Jerusalem.«
ISV(i) 12 Then I got up at night, along with a few men with me. I had not confided to any person what my God had put in my heart to do for Jerusalem. Furthermore, there was no other animal with me except for the one I was riding.
13 So I went out during the night through the Valley Gate toward Dragon’s Well, and from there to the Dung Gate, inspecting the walls of Jerusalem that were broken down and burned by fire. 14 I proceeded to the Fountain Gate, and then to the King’s Pool, but there wasn’t sufficient clearance for the animal I was riding to pass. 15 I traveled the valley by night to inspect the wall, returning through the Valley Gate. 16 The local officials did not know where I had gone or what I had done—I informed neither the Judeans, nor the priests, nor the nobles, nor the officials, nor any of the rest who would be doing the work.
17 Later I told them, “You all are watching the predicament we’re in, how Jerusalem lies desolate, with its gates burned by fire. Let’s rebuild the Jerusalem wall so we’re no longer a disgrace.” 18 Then I told them how good my God had been to me, and about what the king had told me.
They replied, “Let’s get out there and build!” So they encouraged themselves to do good.
19 Nehemiah Replies to SanballatBut when Sanballat the Horonite, his servant Tobiah the Ammonite, and Geshem the Arab heard about it, they jeered at us and despised us when they said, “What is this thing that you’re doing? You’re rebelling against the king, aren’t you?”

No animal was with me except the animal that I was riding on. 13 I went out by night by the valley gate, even toward the jackal's well, and to the dung gate, and viewed the walls of Jerusalem which were broken down, and its gates which were consumed with fire. 14 Then I went on to the door of the fountain and to the king's pool: but there was no room for my beast to get through. 15 I traveled the valley by night to inspect the wall, returning through the Valley Gate. 16 The local officials did not know where I had gone or what I had done {— } I informed neither the Judeans, nor the priests, nor the nobles, nor the officials, nor any of the rest who would be doing the work. 17 Then I said to them, "You see the misery that we are in, that Jerusalem is ruined and its gates burned by the fire. Come, build the walls of Jerusalem and we shall no longer be a disgrace." 18 Then I told them how good my God had been to me, and about what the king had said to me. They replied, "Let's get out there and build!" So they encouraged themselves to do good. 19 But Sanballat the Horonite, the Ammonite servant Tobiah, and Geshem the Arab heard it, and they mocked and despised us, saying, "What is this thing that you are doing? Are you rebelling against the king?" 20 I answered them: »The God of heaven will be our help; so we, his servants, will go on with our building. But you have no part or right or any name in Jerusalem.«

Sve do sada nisam ništa rekao Židovima: ni svećenicima, ni velikašima, ni savjetnicima, ni drugima nadstojnicima. "Ustanimo", povikaše oni, "i gradimo!"
I posilnili rukou svých k dobrému. 19 Což když uslyšel Sanballat Choronský, a Tobiáš služebník Ammonitský, a Gesem Arabský, posmívali se, a utrhali nám, pravíce: Což to děláte? Co se králi protivíte? 20 Jimž odpovídaje, řekl jsem: Bůh nebeský, tenť nám dá prospěch, a my služebníci jeho přičiníce se, stavěti budeme, vy pak nemáte žádného dílu, ani práva, ani památky v Jeruzalémě.

Ja he saivat rohkeuden käydä käsiksi tähän hyvään työhön. Talán bizony a király ellen akartok pártot ütni?
Così presero animo a far bene.

E quelli dissero: "Leviamoci, e mettiamoci a costruire!"

Lithuanian(i) 12 atsikėliau naktį, su manimi atsikėlė ir keli vyrai. Niekam nesakiau, ką Dievas buvo įdėjęs man į širdį daryti Jeruzalėje.
I zmocnili ręce swe ku dobremu. 19 Co słysząc Sanballat Horonitczyk, i Tobijasz, sługa Ammonitczyk i Giesem Arabczyk, szydzili z nas, i lekce nas sobie poważyli mówiąc: Cóż to za rzecz, którą czynicie? albo się przeciw królowi buntujecie? 20 I odpowiedziałem im, a rzekłem do nich: Bóg niebieski, ten nam poszczęści, a my słudzy jego, wstańmy a budujmy; ale wy nie macie działu, ani prawa, ani pamiątki w Jeruzalemie.
18 Então lhes declarei como a mão do meu Deus me fora favorável, e bem assim as palavras que o rei me tinha dito.
Vil I sette eder op imot kongen?
