Norwegian⁽ⁱ⁾ ² Sårt gråter hun om natten, og hennes tårer rinner på hennes kinn; hun har ingen trøster blandt alle sine elskere; alle hennes venner har vært troløse mot henne, de er blitt hennes fiender. ³ I landflyktighet er Juda vandret, efter trengsel og megen møie; det bor iblandt folkene, har ikke funnet hvile; alle dets forfølgere har innhentet det på trange steder. ⁴ Veiene til Sion sørger fordi ingen kommer til festene; alle dets porter er øde, dets prester sukker, dets jomfruer er sorgfulle, og det selv er bitterlig bedrøvet. ⁵ Dets motstandere er blitt dets herrer, dets fiender er trygge, for Herren har lagt sorg på det for dets mange overtredelsers skyld; dets små barn har fienden ført i fangenskap. ⁶ Fra Sions datter svant all hennes prakt; hennes fyrster blev lik hjorter som ikke finner beite, og de gikk der uten kraft for forfølgerens åsyn. ⁷ I sin elendighets og landflyktighets tid kommer Jerusalem i hu alle de herligheter som hun hadde fra fordums dager; da hennes folk falt for fiendens hånd, og hun ingen hjelper hadde, da så fiendene henne, de spottet over det hun hadde tapt. ⁸ Storlig har Jerusalem syndet, derfor er hun blitt til en vederstyggelighet; alle de som æret henne, forakter henne, for de så hennes blusel; hun selv sukket og vendte sig bort. ⁹ Hennes urenhet hang ved hennes kjortelfliker; hun tenkte ikke på hvad ende det vilde ta med henne; da sank hun på underlig vis, ingen trøstet henne. Romanian⁽ⁱ⁾ ² Plînge amarnic noaptea, şi -i curg lacrămi pe obraji. Niciunul din toţi cei ce o iubeau n'o mîngîie; toţi prietenii ei au părăsit -o, şi i s'au făcut vrăjmaşi. ³ Iuda a plecat în pribegie, din pricina apăsării şi muncilor grele. Locuieşte în mijlocul neamurilor, şi nu găseşte odihnă! Toţi prigonitorii lui l-au ajuns tocmai cînd îi era mai mare strîmtorarea. ⁴ Drumurile Sionului sînt triste, căci nimeni nu se mai duce la sărbători, toate porţile lui sînt pustii, preoţii lui oftează; fecioarele lui sînt mîhnite, şi el însuş este plin de amărăciune. ⁵ Asupritorii lui sar biruitori, vrăşmaşii lui sînt mulţămiţi. Căci Domnul l -a smerit, din pricina mulţimii păcatelor lui; copiii lui au mers în robie înaintea asupritorului. ⁶ S'a dus dela fiica Sionului toată podoaba ei. Căpeteniile ei au ajuns ca nişte cerbi cari nu găsesc păşune, şi merg fără putere înaintea celui ce -i goneşte. ⁷ În zilele necazului şi ticăloşiei lui, Ierusalimul îşi aduce aminte de toate bunătăţile de cari a avut parte din zilele străbune; cînd a căzut poporul lui în mîna asupritorului, nimeni nu i -a venit în ajutor, iar vrăjmaşii se uitau la el şi rîdeau de prăbuşirea lui. ⁸ Greu de păcătuit Ierusalimul! De aceea a ajuns de scîrbă. Toţi cei ce -l preţuiau îl dispreţuiesc acum, văzîndu -i goliciunea, şi el însuş se întoarce în altă parte şi oftează. ⁹ Necurăţia sta lipită pe poala hainei lui, şi nu se gîndea la sfîrşitul său. A căzut greu de tot. Nimeni nu -l mîngîie. -,,Vezi-mi ticăloşia, Doamne, căci iată ce semeţ este vrăjmaşul!`` -

Ukrainian⁽ⁱ⁾ ² Гірко плаче по ночах вона, і сльози гарячі на щоках у неї... Нема потішителя в неї зо всіх, що кохали її, її зрадили всі її друзі, вони ворогами їй стали! ³ Юдея пішла на вигнання з біди та з роботи тяжкої, вона оселилася поміж поганами, спочинку собі не знайшла! Догнали її всі її переслідники серед тіснот... ⁴ Дороги сіонської доньки сумні, бо немає на свято прочан! Усі брами її попустіли, зідхає священство її, посумнілі дівчата її, а вона гірко їй! ⁵ Її грабівники взяли гору над нею, і добре ведеться її ворогам, бо їй завдав смутку Господь за численність у неї гріхів: Немовлята її до полону пішли перед ворогом... ⁶ І відійшла від сіонської доньки вся величність її... Її князі стали, немов олені ті, що паші собі не знаходять, і йдуть у безсиллі перед переслідником... ⁷ У дні лиха свого та страждання свого дочка єрусалимська спогадує всі свої скарби, що були від днів давніх, як народ її впав був у руку ворожу, і не було, хто б їй поміч подав... Вороги споглядали на неї, і сміялись з руїни її... ⁸ Дочка єрусалимська гріхом прогрішилась, тому то нечистою стала, усі, що її шанували, погорджують нею, наготу бо її вони бачили! І зідхає вона, й відвертається взад... ⁹ Нечистість її на подолках у неї. Вона не згадала свого кінця, та й упала предивно, і нікого нема, хто б потішив її... Побач, Господи, горе моє, бо звеличився ворог!
