KJV_Strongs(i)
H3091 And Joshua H622 gathered [H8799]   H7626 all the tribes H3478 of Israel H7927 to Shechem H7121 , and called [H8799]   H2205 for the elders H3478 of Israel H7218 , and for their heads H8199 , and for their judges [H8802]   H7860 , and for their officers [H8802]   H3320 ; and they presented [H8691]   H6440 themselves before H430 God.
H3091 And Joshua H559 said [H8799]   H5971 unto all the people H559 , Thus saith [H8804]   H3068 the LORD H430 God H3478 of Israel H1 , Your fathers H3427 dwelt [H8804]   H5676 on the other side H5104 of the flood H5769 in old time H8646 , even Terah H1 , the father H85 of Abraham H1 , and the father H5152 of Nachor H5647 : and they served [H8799]   H312 other H430 gods.
H3947 And I took [H8799]   H1 your father H85 Abraham H5676 from the other side H5104 of the flood H3212 , and led [H8686]   H776 him throughout all the land H3667 of Canaan H7235 , and multiplied [H8686]   H2233 his seed H5414 , and gave [H8799]   H3327 him Isaac.
H5414 And I gave [H8799]   H3327 unto Isaac H3290 Jacob H6215 and Esau H5414 : and I gave [H8799]   H6215 unto Esau H2022 mount H8165 Seir H3423 , to possess [H8800]   H3290 it; but Jacob H1121 and his children H3381 went down [H8804]   H4714 into Egypt.
H7971 I sent [H8799]   H4872 Moses H175 also and Aaron H5062 , and I plagued [H8799]   H4714 Egypt H834 , according to that which H6213 I did [H8804]   H7130 among H310 them: and afterward H3318 I brought you out [H8689]  .
H3318 And I brought [H8686]   H1 your fathers H4714 out of Egypt H935 : and ye came [H8799]   H3220 unto the sea H4714 ; and the Egyptians H7291 pursued [H8799]   H310 after H1 your fathers H7393 with chariots H6571 and horsemen H5488 unto the Red H3220 sea.
H6817 And when they cried [H8799]   H3068 unto the LORD H7760 , he put [H8799]   H3990 darkness H4713 between you and the Egyptians H935 , and brought [H8686]   H3220 the sea H3680 upon them, and covered [H8762]   H5869 them; and your eyes H7200 have seen [H8799]   H6213 what I have done [H8804]   H4714 in Egypt H3427 : and ye dwelt [H8799]   H4057 in the wilderness H7227 a long H3117 season.
H935 And I brought [H8686]   H776 you into the land H567 of the Amorites H3427 , which dwelt [H8802]   H5676 on the other side H3383 Jordan H3898 ; and they fought [H8735]   H5414 with you: and I gave [H8799]   H3027 them into your hand H3423 , that ye might possess [H8799]   H776 their land H8045 ; and I destroyed [H8686]   H6440 them from before you.
H1111 Then Balak H1121 the son H6834 of Zippor H4428 , king H4124 of Moab H6965 , arose [H8799]   H3898 and warred [H8735]   H3478 against Israel H7971 , and sent [H8799]   H7121 and called [H8799]   H1109 Balaam H1121 the son H1160 of Beor H7043 to curse [H8763]   you:
H14 But I would [H8804]   H8085 not hearken [H8800]   H1109 unto Balaam H1288 ; therefore he blessed [H8762]   H1288 you still [H8800]   H5337 : so I delivered [H8686]   H3027 you out of his hand.
H5674 And ye went over [H8799]   H3383 Jordan H935 , and came [H8799]   H3405 unto Jericho H1167 : and the men H3405 of Jericho H3898 fought [H8735]   H567 against you, the Amorites H6522 , and the Perizzites H3669 , and the Canaanites H2850 , and the Hittites H1622 , and the Girgashites H2340 , the Hivites H2983 , and the Jebusites H5414 ; and I delivered [H8799]   H3027 them into your hand.
H7971 And I sent [H8799]   H6880 the hornet H6440 before H1644 you, which drave them out [H8762]   H6440 from before H8147 you, even the two H4428 kings H567 of the Amorites H2719 ; but not with thy sword H7198 , nor with thy bow.
H5414 And I have given [H8799]   H776 you a land H3021 for which ye did not labour [H8804]   H5892 , and cities H1129 which ye built [H8804]   H3427 not, and ye dwell [H8799]   H3754 in them; of the vineyards H2132 and oliveyards H5193 which ye planted [H8804]   H398 not do ye eat [H8802]  .
H3372 Now therefore fear [H8798]   H3068 the LORD H5647 , and serve [H8798]   H8549 him in sincerity H571 and in truth H5493 : and put away [H8685]   H430 the gods H1 which your fathers H5647 served [H8804]   H5676 on the other side H5104 of the flood H4714 , and in Egypt H5647 ; and serve [H8798]   H3068 ye the LORD.
H7489 And if it seem evil [H8804]   H4310 unto you H5647 to serve [H8800]   H3068 the LORD H977 , choose [H8798]   H3117 you this day H5869 whom H5647 ye will serve [H8799]   H430 ; whether the gods H1 which your fathers H5647 served [H8804]   H5676 that were on the other side H5104 of the flood H430 , or the gods H567 of the Amorites H776 , in whose land H3427 ye dwell [H8802]   H1004 : but as for me and my house H5647 , we will serve [H8799]   H3068 the LORD.
H5971 And the people H6030 answered [H8799]   H559 and said [H8799]   H2486 , God forbid H5800 that we should forsake [H8800]   H3068 the LORD H5647 , to serve [H8800]   H312 other H430 gods;
H3068 For the LORD H430 our God H5927 , he it is that brought us up [H8688]   H1 and our fathers H776 out of the land H4714 of Egypt H1004 , from the house H5650 of bondage H6213 , and which did [H8804]   H1419 those great H226 signs H5869 in our sight H8104 , and preserved [H8799]   H1870 us in all the way H1980 wherein we went [H8804]   H5971 , and among all the people H7130 through H5674 whom we passed [H8804]  :
H3068 And the LORD H1644 drave out [H8762]   H6440 from before H5971 us all the people H567 , even the Amorites H3427 which dwelt [H8802]   H776 in the land H5647 : therefore will we also serve [H8799]   H3068 the LORD H430 ; for he is our God.
H3091 And Joshua H559 said [H8799]   H5971 unto the people H3201 , Ye cannot [H8799]   H5647 serve [H8800]   H3068 the LORD H6918 : for he is an holy H430 God H7072 ; he is a jealous H410 God H5375 ; he will not forgive [H8799]   H6588 your transgressions H2403 nor your sins.
H5800 If ye forsake [H8799]   H3068 the LORD H5647 , and serve [H8804]   H5236 strange H430 gods H7725 , then he will turn [H8804]   H7489 and do you hurt [H8689]   H3615 , and consume [H8765]   H310 you, after H3190 that he hath done you good [H8689]  .
H5971 And the people H559 said [H8799]   H3091 unto Joshua H5647 , Nay; but we will serve [H8799]   H3068 the LORD.
H3091 And Joshua H559 said [H8799]   H5971 unto the people H5707 , Ye are witnesses H977 against yourselves that ye have chosen [H8804]   H3068 you the LORD H5647 , to serve [H8800]   H559 him. And they said [H8799]   H5707 , We are witnesses.
H5493 Now therefore put away [H8685]   H5236 , said he, the strange H430 gods H7130 which are among H5186 you, and incline [H8685]   H3824 your heart H3068 unto the LORD H430 God H3478 of Israel.
H5971 And the people H559 said [H8799]   H3091 unto Joshua H3068 , The LORD H430 our God H5647 will we serve [H8799]   H6963 , and his voice H8085 will we obey [H8799]  .
H3091 So Joshua H3772 made [H8799]   H1285 a covenant H5971 with the people H3117 that day H7760 , and set [H8799]   H2706 them a statute H4941 and an ordinance H7927 in Shechem.
H3091 And Joshua H3789 wrote [H8799]   H1697 these words H5612 in the book H8451 of the law H430 of God H3947 , and took [H8799]   H1419 a great H68 stone H6965 , and set it up [H8686]   H427 there under an oak H4720 , that was by the sanctuary H3068 of the LORD.
H3091 And Joshua H559 said [H8799]   H5971 unto all the people H68 , Behold, this stone H5713 shall be a witness H8085 unto us; for it hath heard [H8804]   H561 all the words H3068 of the LORD H1696 which he spake [H8765]   H5713 unto us: it shall be therefore a witness H3584 unto you, lest ye deny [H8762]   H430 your God.
H3091 So Joshua H5971 let the people H7971 depart [H8762]   H376 , every man H5159 unto his inheritance.
H310 And it came to pass after H1697 these things H3091 , that Joshua H1121 the son H5126 of Nun H5650 , the servant H3068 of the LORD H4191 , died [H8799]   H3967 , being an hundred H6235 and ten H8141 years H1121 old.
H6912 And they buried [H8799]   H1366 him in the border H5159 of his inheritance H8556 in Timnathserah H2022 , which is in mount H669 Ephraim H6828 , on the north side H2022 of the hill H1608 of Gaash.
H3478 And Israel H5647 served [H8799]   H3068 the LORD H3117 all the days H3091 of Joshua H3117 , and all the days H2205 of the elders H748 that overlived [H8689]   H3117   H310   H3091 Joshua H3045 , and which had known [H8804]   H4639 all the works H3068 of the LORD H6213 , that he had done [H8804]   H3478 for Israel.
H6106 And the bones H3130 of Joseph H1121 , which the children H3478 of Israel H5927 brought up [H8689]   H4714 out of Egypt H6912 , buried [H8804]   H7927 they in Shechem H2513 , in a parcel H7704 of ground H3290 which Jacob H7069 bought [H8804]   H1121 of the sons H2544 of Hamor H1 the father H7927 of Shechem H3967 for an hundred H7192 pieces of silver H5159 : and it became the inheritance H1121 of the children H3130 of Joseph.
H499 And Eleazar H1121 the son H175 of Aaron H4191 died [H8804]   H6912 ; and they buried [H8799]   H1389 him in a hill H6372 that pertained to Phinehas H1121 his son H5414 , which was given [H8738]   H2022 him in mount H669 Ephraim.
ERV(i) 1 And Joshua gathered all the tribes of Israel to Shechem, and called for the elders of Israel, and for their heads, and for their judges, and for their officers; and they presented themselves before God. 2 And Joshua said unto all the people, Thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel, Your fathers dwelt of old time beyond the River, even Terah, the father of Abraham, and the father of Nahor: and they served other gods. 3 And I took your father Abraham from beyond the River, and led him throughout all the land of Canaan, and multiplied his seed, and gave him Isaac. 4 And I gave unto Isaac Jacob and Esau: and I gave unto Esau mount Seir, to possess it; and Jacob and his children went down into Egypt. 5 And I sent Moses and Aaron, and I plagued Egypt, according to that which I did in the midst thereof: and afterward I brought you out. 6 And I brought your fathers out of Egypt: and ye came unto the sea; and the Egyptians pursued after your fathers with chariots and with horsemen unto the Red Sea. 7 And when they cried out unto the LORD, he put darkness between you and the Egyptians, and brought the sea upon them, and covered them; and your eyes saw what I did in Egypt: and ye dwelt in the wilderness many days. 8 And I brought you into the land of the Amorites, which dwelt beyond Jordan; and they fought with you: and I gave them into your hand, and ye possessed their land; and I destroyed them from before you. 9 Then Balak the son of Zippor, king of Moab, arose and fought against Israel; and he sent and called Balaam the son of Beor to curse you: 10 but I would not hearken unto Balaam; therefore he blessed you still: so I delivered you out of his hand. 11 And ye went over Jordan, and came unto Jericho: and the men of Jericho fought against you, the Amorite, and the Perizzite, and the Canaanite, and the Hittite, and the Girgashite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite; and I delivered them into your hand. 12 And I sent the hornet before you, which drave them out from before you, even the two kings of the Amorites; not with thy sword, nor with thy bow. 13 And I gave you a land whereon thou hadst not laboured, and cities which ye built not, and ye dwell therein; of vineyards and oliveyards which ye planted not do ye eat. 14 Now therefore fear the LORD, and serve him in sincerity and in truth: and put away the gods which your fathers served beyond the River, and in Egypt; and serve ye the LORD. 15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD. 16 And the people answered and said, God forbid that we should forsake the LORD, to serve other gods; 17 for the LORD our God, he it is that brought us and our fathers up out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage, and that did those great signs in our sight, and preserved us in all the way wherein we went, and among all the peoples through the midst of whom we passed: 18 and the LORD drave out from before us all the peoples, even the Amorites which dwelt in the land: therefore we also will serve the LORD; for he is our God. 19 And Joshua said unto the people, Ye cannot serve the LORD; for he is an holy God; he is a jealous God; he will not forgive your transgression nor your sins. 20 If ye forsake the LORD, and serve strange gods, then he will turn and do you evil, and consume you, after that he hath done you good. 21 And the people said unto Joshua, Nay; but we will serve the LORD. 22 And Joshua said unto the people, Ye are witnesses against yourselves that ye have chosen you the LORD, to serve him. And they said, We are witnesses. 23 Now therefore put away, [said he], the strange gods which are among you, and incline your heart unto the LORD, the God of Israel. 24 And the people said unto Joshua, The LORD our God will we serve, and unto his voice will we hearken. 25 So Joshua made a covenant with the people that day, and set them a statute and an ordinance in Shechem. 26 And Joshua wrote these words in the book of the law of God; and he took a great stone, and set it up there under the oak that was by the sanctuary of the LORD. 27 And Joshua said unto all the people, Behold, this stone shall be a witness against us; for it hath heard all the words of the LORD which he spake unto us: it shall be therefore a witness against you, lest ye deny your God. 28 So Joshua sent the people away, every man unto his inheritance. 29 And it came to pass after these things, that Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of the LORD, died, being an hundred and ten years old. 30 And they buried him in the border of his inheritance in Timnath-serah, which is in the hill country of Ephraim, on the north of the mountain of Gaash. 31 And Israel served the LORD all the days of Joshua, and all the days of the elders that outlived Joshua, and had known all the work of the LORD, that he had wrought for Israel. 32 And the bones of Joseph, which the children of Israel brought up out of Egypt, buried they in Shechem, in the parcel of ground which Jacob bought of the sons of Hamor the father of Shechem for an hundred pieces of money: and they became the inheritance of the children of Joseph. 33 And Eleazar the son of Aaron died; and they buried him in the hill of Phinehas his son, which was given him in the hill country of Ephraim.
