Jeremiah 17 The sin of Judah is written with a pen of iron, and with the point of a diamond: it is graven upon the tablet of their heart, and upon the horns of your altars;

2 H1121 whilst their children H2142 remember H4196 their altars H842 and their Asherim H7488 by the green H6086 trees H1364 upon the high H1389 hills.

3 H2042 O my mountain H7704 in the field, H5414 I will give H2428 thy substance H214 and all thy treasures H957 for a spoil, H1116 and thy high places, H2403 because of sin, H1366 throughout all thy borders.

4 H8058 And thou, even of thyself, shalt discontinue H5159 from thy heritage H5414 that I gave H5647 thee; and I will cause thee to serve H341 thine enemies H776 in the land H3045 which thou knowest H6919 not: for ye have kindled H784 a fire H639 in mine anger H3344 which shall burn H5704 for H5769 ever.

5 H559 Thus saith H3068 Jehovah: H779 Cursed H1397 is the man H982 that trusteth H120 in man, H7760 and maketh H1320 flesh H2220 his arm, H3820 and whose heart H5493 departeth H3068 from Jehovah.

6 H6199 For he shall be like the heath H6160 in the desert, H7200 and shall not see H2896 when good H935 cometh, H7931 but shall inhabit H2788 the parched places H4057 in the wilderness, H4420 a salt H776 land H3427 and not inhabited.

7 H1288 Blessed H1397 is the man H982 that trusteth H3068 in Jehovah, H4009 and whose trust H3068 Jehovah is.

8 H6086 For he shall be as a tree H8362 planted H4325 by the waters, H7971 that spreadeth out H8328 its roots H3105 by the river, H7200 and shall not fear H2527 when heat H935 cometh, H5929 but its leaf H7488 shall be green; H1672 and shall not be careful H8141 in the year H1226 of drought, H4185 neither shall cease H6213 from yielding H6529 fruit.

9 H3820 The heart H6121 is deceitful H605 above all things, and it is exceedingly corrupt: H3045 who can know it?

10 H3068 I, Jehovah, H2713 search H3820 the mind, H974 I try H3820 the heart, H5414 even to give H376 every man H1870 according to his ways, H6529 according to the fruit H4611 of his doings.

11 H7124 As the partridge H1716 that sitteth H3205 on eggs which she hath not laid, H6213 so is he that getteth H6239 riches, H4941 and not by right; H2677 in the midst H3117 of his days H5800 they shall leave H319 him, and at his end H5036 he shall be a fool.

12 H3519 A glorious H3678 throne, H4791 set on high H7223 from the beginning, H4725 is the place H4720 of our sanctuary.

13 H3068 O Jehovah, H4723 the hope H3478 of Israel, H5800 all that forsake H954 thee shall be put to shame. H3249 They that depart H5493 from me H3789 shall be written H776 in the earth, H5800 because they have forsaken H3068 Jehovah, H4726 the fountain H2416 of living H4325 waters.

14 H7495 Heal H3068 me, O Jehovah, H7495 and I shall be healed; H3467 save H3467 me, and I shall be saved: H8416 for thou art my praise.

15 H559 Behold, they say H1697 unto me, Where is the word H3068 of Jehovah? H935 let it come now.

16 H213 As for me, I have not hastened H7462 from being a shepherd H310 after H183 thee; neither have I desired H605 the woeful H3117 day; H3045 thou knowest: H4161 that which came out H8193 of my lips H5227 was before H6440 thy face.

17 H4288 Be not a terror H4268 unto me: thou art my refuge H3117 in the day H7451 of evil.

18 H954 Let them be put to shame H7291 that persecute H954 me, but let not me be put to shame; H2865 let them be dismayed, H2865 but let not me be dismayed; H935 bring H3117 upon them the day H7451 of evil, H7665 and destroy H4932 them with double H7670 destruction.

19 H559 Thus said H3068 Jehovah H1980 unto me: Go, H5975 and stand H8179 in the gate H1121 of the children H5971 of the people, H4428 whereby the kings H3063 of Judah H935 come in, H3318 and by which they go out, H8179 and in all the gates H3389 of Jerusalem;

20 H559 and say H8085 unto them, Hear H1697 ye the word H3068 of Jehovah, H4428 ye kings H3063 of Judah, H3063 and all Judah, H3427 and all the inhabitants H3389 of Jerusalem, H935 that enter in H8179 by these gates:

21 H559 Thus saith H3068 Jehovah, H8104 Take heed H5315 to yourselves, H5375 and bear H4853 no burden H7676 on the sabbath H3117 day, H935 nor bring H8179 it in by the gates H3389 of Jerusalem;

22 H3318 neither carry forth H4853 a burden H1004 out of your houses H7676 on the sabbath H3117 day, H6213 neither do H4399 ye any work: H6942 but hallow H7676 ye the sabbath H3117 day, H6680 as I commanded H1 your fathers.

23 H8085 But they hearkened H5186 not, neither inclined H241 their ear, H6203 but made their neck H7185 stiff, H8085 that they might not hear, H3947 and might not receive H4148 instruction.

24 H8085 And it shall come to pass, if ye diligently H8085 hearken H5002 unto me, saith H3068 Jehovah, H935 to bring H4853 in no burden H8179 through the gates H5892 of this city H7676 on the sabbath H3117 day, H6942 but to hallow H7676 the sabbath H3117 day, H6213 to do H1115 no H4399 work therein;

25 H935 then shall there enter H8179 in by the gates H5892 of this city H4428 kings H8269 and princes H3427 sitting H3678 upon the throne H1732 of David, H7392 riding H7393 in chariots H5483 and on horses, H8269 they, and their princes, H376 the men H3063 of Judah, H3427 and the inhabitants H3389 of Jerusalem; H5892 and this city H3427 shall remain H5769 for ever.

26 H935 And they shall come H5892 from the cities H3063 of Judah, H5439 and from the places round about H3389 Jerusalem, H776 and from the land H1144 of Benjamin, H8219 and from the lowland, H2022 and from the hill-country, H5045 and from the South, H935 bringing H5930 burnt-offerings, H2077 and sacrifices, H4503 and meal-offerings, H3828 and frankincense, H935 and bringing H8426 sacrifices of thanksgiving, H1004 unto the house H3068 of Jehovah.

27 H8085 But if ye will not hearken H6942 unto me to hallow H7676 the sabbath H3117 day, H5375 and not to bear H4853 a burden H935 and enter in H8179 at the gates H3389 of Jerusalem H7676 on the sabbath H3117 day; H3341 then will I kindle H784 a fire H8179 in the gates H398 thereof, and it shall devour H759 the palaces H3389 of Jerusalem, H3518 and it shall not be quenched.
