THE SIN OF YAH HUDAH
The sin of Yah Hudah is engraved with a stylus of iron and with the nail of a brier - engraved on the table of their heart and on the horns of your sacrifice altars; 2 as their sons remember their sacrifice altars and their asherah by the green trees; by the high hills. 3 O my mountain in the field, I give your valuables and all your treasures for plunder, and your bamahs for sin throughout all your borders: 4 and you released yourself from the inheritance I gave you; and I had you to serve your enemies in the land you knew not: for you kindled a fire in my wrath which burns eternally. 5 Thus says Yah Veh; Cursed be the mighty who confide in humanity; who set flesh as his arm; who turns his heart from Yah Veh. 6 And he becomes as the naked in the plain, and sees not when good comes; and tabernacles in the scorches in the wilderness - in a salt land, not settled. 7 Blessed - the mighty who confide in Yah Veh, and whose confidence is in Yah Veh: 8 who is as a tree transplanted by the waters who spreads her roots by the stream; and sees not when heat comes, her leaf is green - neither concerned in the year of drought nor departs from working fruit. 9 The heart is crooked above all and incurable: who knows it? 10 I Yah Veh probe the heart; proof the reins; even to give every man according to his ways and according to the fruit of his exploitations. 11 The partridge broods, and births not: thus is he who works riches, but not by justness - who forsakes them in the half of his days and at his end, is a fool. 12 An honorable high throne from the beginning is the place of our holies. 13 O Yah Veh, the expectation of Yisra El, all who forsake you, shame; and they who turn aside from me are inscribed in the earth, because they forsook Yah Veh the fountain of living waters. 14 Heal me, O Yah Veh, and I am healed; save me, and I am saved: for you are my halal. 15 Behold, they say to me, Where is the word of Yah Veh? Come, I beseech! 16 I neither hasten from tending after you nor desire I the incurable day: you, you know that what proceeds from my lips is straightforward at your face. 17 Be not my ruin: you are my refuge in the day of evil. 18 Have them shame who pursue me; and me, not shame: have them dismay; and me, not dismay: bring on them the day of evil, and break them with double breaking. 19
HALLOWING THE SHABBATH
Thus says Yah Veh to me; Go and stand in the portal of the sons of the people whereby the sovereigns of Yah Hudah come and whereby they go; and in all the portals of Yeru Shalem: 20 and say to them, Hear the word of Yah Veh - you sovereigns of Yah Hudah and all Yah Hudah and all the settlers of Yeru Shalem entering in by these portals. 21 Thus says Yah Veh, Guard your souls; and neither bear a burden on the shabbath day nor bring it in by the portals of Yeru Shalem: 22 neither carry forth a burden from your houses on the shabbath day nor work any work; but hallow the shabbath day as I misvahed your fathers: 23 and they neither hearken nor spread their ear; and harden their neck so that they neither hear nor take discipline. 24 And so be it, in hearkening, if ye hearken to me - an oracle of Yah Veh to bring in no burden through the portals of this city on the shabbath day - and hallow the shabbath day to work no work therein; 25 then there enter the portals of this city sovereigns and governors on the throne of David riding in chariots and on horses - they and their governors - the men of Yah Hudah and the settlers of Yeru Shalem: and they settle this city eternally: 26 and they come from the cities of Yah Hudah and all around Yeru Shalem and from the land of Ben Yamin and from the lowland and from the mountains and from the south - bringing holocausts and sacrifices and offerings and incense; and bringing spread hands to the house of Yah Veh. 27 And if you hearken not to me to hallow the shabbath day, and to not bear a burden, even entering at the portals of Yeru Shalem on the shabbath day; then I kindle a fire in the portals; and it consumes the citadels of Yeru Shalem, and quenches not.
