  1 H376 There was a man H776 in the land H5780 of Uz H8034 , whose name H347 was Job H376 ; and that man H8535 was perfect H3477 and upright H3373 , and one that feared H430 God H5493 , and eschewed [H8802]   H7451 evil.
  2 H3205 And there were born [H8735]   H7651 unto him seven H1121 sons H7969 and three H1323 daughters.
  3 H4735 His substance H7651 also was seven H505 thousand H6629 sheep H7969 , and three H505 thousand H1581 camels H2568 , and five H3967 hundred H6776 yoke H1241 of oxen H2568 , and five H3967 hundred H860 she asses H3966 , and a very H7227 great H5657 household H376 ; so that this man H1419 was the greatest H1121 of all the men H6924 of the east.
  4 H1121 And his sons H1980 went [H8804]   H4960 and feasted H6213   [H8804]   H1004 in their houses H376 , every one H3117 his day H7971 ; and sent [H8804]   H7121 and called [H8804]   H7969 for their three H269 sisters H398 to eat [H8800]   H8354 and to drink [H8800]   with them.
  5 H3117 And it was so, when the days H4960 of their feasting H5362 were gone about [H8689]   H347 , that Job H7971 sent [H8799]   H6942 and sanctified [H8762]   H7925 them, and rose up early [H8689]   H1242 in the morning H5927 , and offered [H8689]   H5930 burnt offerings H4557 according to the number H347 of them all: for Job H559 said [H8804]   H194 , It may be H1121 that my sons H2398 have sinned [H8804]   H1288 , and cursed [H8765]   H430 God H3824 in their hearts H6213 . Thus did [H8799]   H347 Job H3117 continually.
  6 H3117 Now there was a day H1121 when the sons H430 of God H935 came [H8799]   H3320 to present [H8692]   H3068 themselves before the LORD H7854 , and Satan H935 came [H8799]   H8432 also among them.
  7 H3068 And the LORD H559 said [H8799]   H7854 unto Satan H370 , Whence H935 comest [H8799]   H7854 thou? Then Satan H6030 answered [H8799]   H3068 the LORD H559 , and said [H8799]   H7751 , From going to and fro [H8800]   H776 in the earth H1980 , and from walking up and down [H8692]   in it.
  8 H3068 And the LORD H559 said [H8799]   H7854 unto Satan H7760 , Hast thou considered [H8804]   H3820   H5650 my servant H347 Job H776 , that there is none like him in the earth H8535 , a perfect H3477 and an upright H376 man H3373 , one that feareth H430 God H5493 , and escheweth [H8802]   H7451 evil?
  9 H7854 Then Satan H6030 answered [H8799]   H3068 the LORD H559 , and said [H8799]   H347 , Doth Job H3372 fear [H8804]   H430 God H2600 for nought?
  10 H7753 Hast not thou made an hedge [H8804]   H1157 about him, and about H1004 his house H5439 , and about all that he hath on every side H1288 ? thou hast blessed [H8765]   H4639 the work H3027 of his hands H4735 , and his substance H6555 is increased [H8804]   H776 in the land.
  11 H199 But H7971 put forth [H8798]   H3027 thine hand H5060 now, and touch [H8798]   H1288 all that he hath, and he will curse [H8762]   H3808   H6440 thee to thy face.
  12 H3068 And the LORD H559 said [H8799]   H7854 unto Satan H3027 , Behold, all that he hath is in thy power H7971 ; only upon himself put not forth [H8799]   H3027 thine hand H7854 . So Satan H3318 went forth [H8799]   H6440 from the presence H3068 of the LORD.
  13 H3117 And there was a day H1121 when his sons H1323 and his daughters H398 were eating [H8802]   H8354 and drinking [H8802]   H3196 wine H1060 in their eldest H251 brother's H1004 house:
  14 H935 And there came [H8804]   H4397 a messenger H347 unto Job H559 , and said [H8799]   H1241 , The oxen H2790 were plowing [H8802]   H860 , and the asses H7462 feeding [H8802]   H3027 beside them:
  15 H7614 And the Sabeans H5307 fell [H8799]   H3947 upon them, and took them away [H8799]   H5221 ; yea, they have slain [H8689]   H5288 the servants H6310 with the edge H2719 of the sword H4422 ; and I only am escaped [H8735]   H5046 alone to tell [H8687]   thee.
  16 H1696 While he was yet speaking [H8764]   H935 , there came [H8802]   H559 also another, and said [H8799]   H784 , The fire H430 of God H5307 is fallen [H8804]   H8064 from heaven H1197 , and hath burned up [H8799]   H6629 the sheep H5288 , and the servants H398 , and consumed [H8799]   H4422 them; and I only am escaped [H8735]   H5046 alone to tell [H8687]   thee.
  17 H1696 While he was yet speaking [H8764]   H935 , there came [H8802]   H559 also another, and said [H8799]   H3778 , The Chaldeans H7760 made out [H8804]   H7969 three H7218 bands H6584 , and fell [H8799]   H1581 upon the camels H3947 , and have carried them away [H8799]   H5221 , yea, and slain [H8689]   H5288 the servants H6310 with the edge H2719 of the sword H4422 ; and I only am escaped [H8735]   H5046 alone to tell [H8687]   thee.
  18 H1696 While he was yet speaking [H8764]   H935 , there came [H8802]   H559 also another, and said [H8799]   H1121 , Thy sons H1323 and thy daughters H398 were eating [H8802]   H8354 and drinking [H8802]   H3196 wine H1060 in their eldest H251 brother's H1004 house:
  19 H935 And, behold, there came [H8804]   H1419 a great H7307 wind H5676 from H4057 the wilderness H5060 , and smote [H8799]   H702 the four H6438 corners H1004 of the house H5307 , and it fell [H8799]   H5288 upon the young men H4191 , and they are dead [H8799]   H4422 ; and I only am escaped [H8735]   H5046 alone to tell [H8687]   thee.
  20 H347 Then Job H6965 arose [H8799]   H7167 , and rent [H8799]   H4598 his mantle H1494 , and shaved [H8799]   H7218 his head H5307 , and fell down [H8799]   H776 upon the ground H7812 , and worshipped [H8691]  ,
  21 H559 And said [H8799]   H6174 , Naked H3318 came I out [H8804]   H517 of my mother's H990 womb H6174 , and naked H7725 shall I return [H8799]   H3068 thither: the LORD H5414 gave [H8804]   H3068 , and the LORD H3947 hath taken away [H8804]   H1288 ; blessed [H8794]   H8034 be the name H3068 of the LORD.
  22 H347 In all this Job H2398 sinned [H8804]   H5414 not, nor charged [H8804]   H430 God H8604 foolishly.
