  2 H348 Then Jezebel H7971 sent [H8799]   H4397 a messenger H452 unto Elijah H559 , saying [H8800]   H430 , So let the gods H6213 do [H8799]   H3254 to me, and more [H8686]   H7760 also, if I make [H8799]   H5315 not thy life H5315 as the life H259 of one H4279 of them by to morrow H6256 about this time.
  3 H7200 And when he saw [H8799]   H6965 that, he arose [H8799]   H3212 , and went [H8799]   H5315 for his life H935 , and came [H8799]   H884 to Beersheba H3063 , which belongeth to Judah H3240 , and left [H8686]   H5288 his servant there.
  4 H1980 But he himself went [H8804]   H3117 a day's H1870 journey H4057 into the wilderness H935 , and came [H8799]   H3427 and sat down [H8799]   H259 under a H7574 juniper tree H7592 : and he requested [H8799]   H5315 for himself H4191 that he might die [H8800]   H559 ; and said [H8799]   H7227 , It is enough H3068 ; now, O LORD H3947 , take away [H8798]   H5315 my life H2896 ; for I am not better H1 than my fathers.
  5 H7901 And as he lay [H8799]   H3462 and slept [H8799]   H259 under a H7574 juniper tree H4397 , behold, then an angel H5060 touched [H8802]   H559 him, and said [H8799]   H6965 unto him, Arise [H8798]   H398 and eat [H8798]  .
  6 H5027 And he looked [H8686]   H5692 , and, behold, there was a cake H7529 baken on the coals H6835 , and a cruse H4325 of water H4763 at his head H398 . And he did eat [H8799]   H8354 and drink [H8799]   H7901 , and laid him down [H8799]   H7725 again [H8799]  .
  7 H4397 And the angel H3068 of the LORD H7725 came again [H8799]   H8145 the second time H5060 , and touched [H8799]   H559 him, and said [H8799]   H6965 , Arise [H8798]   H398 and eat [H8798]   H1870 ; because the journey H7227 is too great for thee.
  8 H6965 And he arose [H8799]   H398 , and did eat [H8799]   H8354 and drink [H8799]   H3212 , and went [H8799]   H3581 in the strength H396 of that meat H705 forty H3117 days H705 and forty H3915 nights H2722 unto Horeb H2022 the mount H430 of God.
  9 H935 And he came [H8799]   H4631 thither unto a cave H3885 , and lodged [H8799]   H1697 there; and, behold, the word H3068 of the LORD H559 came to him, and he said [H8799]   H452 unto him, What doest thou here, Elijah?
  10 H559 And he said [H8799]   H7065 , I have been very [H8763]   H7065 jealous [H8765]   H3068 for the LORD H430 God H6635 of hosts H1121 : for the children H3478 of Israel H5800 have forsaken [H8804]   H1285 thy covenant H2040 , thrown down [H8804]   H4196 thine altars H2026 , and slain [H8804]   H5030 thy prophets H2719 with the sword H3498 ; and I, even I only, am left [H8735]   H1245 ; and they seek [H8762]   H5315 my life H3947 , to take it away [H8800]  .
  11 H559 And he said [H8799]   H3318 , Go forth [H8798]   H5975 , and stand [H8804]   H2022 upon the mount H6440 before H3068 the LORD H3068 . And, behold, the LORD H5674 passed by [H8802]   H1419 , and a great H2389 and strong H7307 wind H6561 rent [H8764]   H2022 the mountains H7665 , and brake in pieces [H8764]   H5553 the rocks H6440 before H3068 the LORD H3068 ; but the LORD H7307 was not in the wind H310 : and after H7307 the wind H7494 an earthquake H3068 ; but the LORD H7494 was not in the earthquake:
  12 H310 And after H7494 the earthquake H784 a fire H3068 ; but the LORD H784 was not in the fire H310 : and after H784 the fire H1827 a still H1851 small H6963 voice.
  13 H452 And it was so, when Elijah H8085 heard [H8800]   H3874 it, that he wrapped [H8686]   H6440 his face H155 in his mantle H3318 , and went out [H8799]   H5975 , and stood [H8799]   H6607 in the entering in H4631 of the cave H6963 . And, behold, there came a voice H559 unto him, and said [H8799]   H452 , What doest thou here, Elijah?
  14 H559 And he said [H8799]   H7065 , I have been very [H8763]   H7065 jealous [H8765]   H3068 for the LORD H430 God H6635 of hosts H1121 : because the children H3478 of Israel H5800 have forsaken [H8804]   H1285 thy covenant H2040 , thrown down [H8804]   H4196 thine altars H2026 , and slain [H8804]   H5030 thy prophets H2719 with the sword H3498 ; and I, even I only, am left [H8735]   H1245 ; and they seek [H8762]   H5315 my life H3947 , to take it away [H8800]  .
  15 H3068 And the LORD H559 said [H8799]   H3212 unto him, Go [H8798]   H7725 , return [H8798]   H1870 on thy way H4057 to the wilderness H1834 of Damascus H935 : and when thou comest [H8804]   H4886 , anoint [H8804]   H2371 Hazael H4428 to be king H758 over Syria:
  16 H3058 And Jehu H1121 the son H5250 of Nimshi H4886 shalt thou anoint [H8799]   H4428 to be king H3478 over Israel H477 : and Elisha H1121 the son H8202 of Shaphat H65 of Abelmeholah H4886 shalt thou anoint [H8799]   H5030 to be prophet in thy room.
  17 H4422 And it shall come to pass, that him that escapeth [H8737]   H2719 the sword H2371 of Hazael H3058 shall Jehu H4191 slay [H8686]   H4422 : and him that escapeth [H8737]   H2719 from the sword H3058 of Jehu H477 shall Elisha H4191 slay [H8686]  .
  18 H7604 Yet I have left [H8689]   H7651 me seven H505 thousand H3478 in Israel H1290 , all the knees H3766 which have not bowed [H8804]   H1168 unto Baal H6310 , and every mouth H5401 which hath not kissed [H8804]   him.
  19 H3212 So he departed [H8799]   H4672 thence, and found [H8799]   H477 Elisha H1121 the son H8202 of Shaphat H2790 , who was plowing [H8802]   H8147 with twelve H6240   H6776 yoke H6440 of oxen before H8147 him, and he with the twelfth H6240   H452 : and Elijah H5674 passed [H8799]   H7993 by him, and cast [H8686]   H155 his mantle upon him.
  20 H5800 And he left [H8799]   H1241 the oxen H7323 , and ran [H8799]   H310 after H452 Elijah H559 , and said [H8799]   H5401 , Let me, I pray thee, kiss [H8799]   H1 my father H517 and my mother H3212 , and then I will follow [H8799]   H310   H559 thee. And he said [H8799]   H3212 unto him, Go back [H8798]   H7725 again [H8798]   H6213 : for what have I done [H8804]   to thee?
  21 H7725 And he returned back [H8799]   H310 from him H3947 , and took [H8799]   H6776 a yoke H1241 of oxen H2076 , and slew [H8799]   H1310 them, and boiled [H8765]   H1320 their flesh H3627 with the instruments H1241 of the oxen H5414 , and gave [H8799]   H5971 unto the people H398 , and they did eat [H8799]   H6965 . Then he arose [H8799]   H3212 , and went [H8799]   H310 after H452 Elijah H8334 , and ministered [H8762]   unto him.

  2 H7971 ותשׁלח sent H348 איזבל Then Jezebel H4397 מלאך a messenger H413 אל unto H452 אליהו Elijah, H559 לאמר saying, H3541 כה So H6213 יעשׂון do H430 אלהים let the gods H3541 וכה also, H3254 יוספון and more H3588 כי if H6256 כעת about this time. H4279 מחר them by tomorrow H7760 אשׂים I make H853 את   H5315 נפשׁך not thy life H5315 כנפשׁ as the life H259 אחד of one H1992 מהם׃  
  3 H7200 וירא And when he saw H6965 ויקם he arose, H1980 וילך and went H413 אל for H5315 נפשׁו his life, H935 ויבא and came H884 באר שׁבע to Beer-sheba, H834 אשׁר which H3063 ליהודה to Judah, H3240 וינח   H853 את   H5288 נערו his servant H8033 שׁם׃ there.
  4 H1931 והוא But he himself H1980 הלך went H4057 במדבר into the wilderness, H1870 דרך journey H3117 יום a day's H935 ויבא and came H3427 וישׁב and sat down H8478 תחת under H7574 רתם juniper tree: H259 אחת a H7592 וישׁאל and he requested H853 את   H5315 נפשׁו for himself H4191 למות that he might die; H559 ויאמר and said, H7227 רב It is enough; H6258 עתה now, H3068 יהוה O LORD, H3947 קח take away H5315 נפשׁי my life; H3588 כי for H3808 לא not H2896 טוב better H595 אנכי I H1 מאבתי׃ than my fathers.
  5 H7901 וישׁכב And as he lay H3462 ויישׁן and slept H8478 תחת under H7574 רתם juniper tree, H259 אחד a H2009 והנה behold, H2088 זה then H4397 מלאך an angel H5060 נגע touched H559 בו ויאמר him, and said H6965 לו קום unto him, Arise H398 אכול׃ eat.
  6 H5027 ויבט And he looked, H2009 והנה and, behold, H4763 מראשׁתיו at his head. H5692 עגת a cake H7529 רצפים baked on the coals, H6835 וצפחת and a cruse H4325 מים of water H398 ויאכל And he did eat H8354 וישׁת and drink, H7725 וישׁב again. H7901 וישׁכב׃ and laid him down
  7 H7725 וישׁב came again H4397 מלאך And the angel H3068 יהוה of the LORD H8145 שׁנית the second time, H5060 ויגע and touched H559 בו ויאמר him, and said, H6965 קום Arise H398 אכל eat; H3588 כי because H7227 רב too great H4480 ממך for H1870 הדרך׃ the journey
  8 H6965 ויקם And he arose, H398 ויאכל and did eat H8354 וישׁתה and drink, H1980 וילך and went H3581 בכח in the strength H396 האכילה meat H1931 ההיא of that H705 ארבעים forty H3117 יום days H705 וארבעים and forty H3915 לילה nights H5704 עד unto H2022 הר the mount H430 האלהים of God. H2722 חרב׃ Horeb
  9 H935 ויבא And he came H8033 שׁם thither H413 אל unto H4631 המערה a cave, H3885 וילן and lodged H8033 שׁם there; H2009 והנה and, behold, H1697 דבר the word H3068 יהוה of the LORD H413 אליו to H559 ויאמר him, and he said H4100 לו מה unto him, What H6311 לך פה doest thou here, H452 אליהו׃ Elijah?
  10 H559 ויאמר And he said, H7065 קנא   H7065 קנאתי   H3069 ליהוה   H430 אלהי God H6635 צבאות of hosts: H3588 כי for H5800 עזבו have forsaken H1285 בריתך thy covenant, H1121 בני the children H3478 ישׂראל of Israel H853 את   H4196 מזבחתיך thine altars, H2040 הרסו thrown down H853 ואת   H5030 נביאיך thy prophets H2026 הרגו and slain H2719 בחרב with the sword; H3498 ואותר am left; H589 אני and I, H905 לבדי I only, H1245 ויבקשׁו and they seek H853 את   H5315 נפשׁי my life, H3947 לקחתה׃ to take it away.
  11 H559 ויאמר And he said, H3318 צא Go forth, H5975 ועמדת and stand H2022 בהר upon the mount H6440 לפני before H3068 יהוה the LORD. H2009 והנה And, behold, H3068 יהוה the LORD H5674 עבר passed by, H7307 ורוח wind H1419 גדולה and a great H2389 וחזק and strong H6561 מפרק rent H2022 הרים the mountains, H7665 ומשׁבר and broke in pieces H5553 סלעים the rocks H6440 לפני before H3068 יהוה the LORD; H3808 לא not H7307 ברוח in the wind: H3068 יהוה the LORD H310 ואחר and after H7307 הרוח the wind H7494 רעשׁ an earthquake; H3808 לא not H7494 ברעשׁ in the earthquake: H3068 יהוה׃ the LORD
  12 H310 ואחר And after H7494 הרעשׁ the earthquake H784 אשׁ a fire; H3808 לא not H784 באשׁ in the fire: H3068 יהוה the LORD H310 ואחר and after H784 האשׁ the fire H6963 קול voice. H1827 דממה a still H1851 דקה׃ small
  13 H1961 ויהי And it was H8085 כשׁמע heard H452 אליהו when Elijah H3874 וילט that he wrapped H6440 פניו his face H155 באדרתו in his mantle, H3318 ויצא and went out, H5975 ויעמד and stood H6607 פתח in the entering in H4631 המערה of the cave. H2009 והנה And, behold, H413 אליו unto H6963 קול a voice H559 ויאמר him, and said, H4100 מה What H6311 לך פה doest thou here, H452 אליהו׃ Elijah?

  15 H559 ויאמר said H3068 יהוה And the LORD H413 אליו unto H1980 לך him, Go, H7725 שׁוב return H1870 לדרכך on thy way H4057 מדברה to the wilderness H1834 דמשׂק of Damascus: H935 ובאת and when thou comest, H4886 ומשׁחת anoint H853 את   H2371 חזאל Hazael H4428 למלך king H5921 על over H758 ארם׃ Syria:
  16 H853 ואת   H3058 יהוא And Jehu H1121 בן the son H5250 נמשׁי of Nimshi H4886 תמשׁח shalt thou anoint H4428 למלך king H5921 על over H3478 ישׂראל Israel: H853 ואת   H477 אלישׁע and Elisha H1121 בן the son H8202 שׁפט of Shaphat H65 מאבל מחולה   H4886 תמשׁח shalt thou anoint H5030 לנביא prophet H8478 תחתיך׃ in thy room.
  17 H1961 והיה And it shall come to pass, H4422 הנמלט him that escapeth H2719 מחרב the sword H2371 חזאל of Hazael H4191 ימית slay: H3058 יהוא shall Jehu H4422 והנמלט and him that escapeth H2719 מחרב from the sword H3058 יהוא of Jehu H4191 ימית slay. H477 אלישׁע׃ shall Elisha
  18 H7604 והשׁארתי Yet I have left H3478 בישׂראל in Israel, H7651 שׁבעת seven H505 אלפים thousand H3605 כל all H1290 הברכים the knees H834 אשׁר which H3808 לא have not H3766 כרעו bowed H1168 לבעל unto Baal, H3605 וכל and every H6310 הפה mouth H834 אשׁר which H3808 לא hath not H5401 נשׁק׃ kissed
  19 H1980 וילך So he departed H8033 משׁם thence, H4672 וימצא and found H853 את   H477 אלישׁע Elisha H1121 בן the son H8202 שׁפט of Shaphat, H1931 והוא who H2790 חרשׁ plowing H8147 שׁנים twelve H6240 עשׂר twelve H6776 צמדים yoke H6440 לפניו before H1931 והוא him, and he H8147 בשׁנים with the twelfth: H6240 העשׂר with the twelfth: H5674 ויעבר passed H452 אליהו and Elijah H413 אליו by H7993 וישׁלך him, and cast H155 אדרתו his mantle H413 אליו׃ upon
  20 H5800 ויעזב And he left H853 את   H1241 הבקר the oxen, H7323 וירץ and ran H310 אחרי after H452 אליהו Elijah, H559 ויאמר and said, H5401 אשׁקה kiss H4994 נא Let me, I pray thee, H1 לאבי my father H517 ולאמי and my mother, H1980 ואלכה unto him, Go H310 אחריך   H559 ויאמר thee. And he said H1980 לו לך   H7725 שׁוב back again: H3588 כי for H4100 מה what H6213 עשׂיתי׃ have I done
  21 H7725 וישׁב And he returned back H310 מאחריו from H3947 ויקח him, and took H853 את   H6776 צמד a yoke H1241 הבקר of oxen, H2076 ויזבחהו and slew H3627 ובכלי with the instruments H1241 הבקר of the oxen, H1310 בשׁלם them, and boiled H1320 הבשׂר their flesh H5414 ויתן and gave H5971 לעם unto the people, H398 ויאכלו and they did eat. H6965 ויקם Then he arose, H1980 וילך and went H310 אחרי after H452 אליהו Elijah, H8334 וישׁרתהו׃ and ministered
