  1 H310 Now after H4194 the death H3091 of Joshua H1121 it came to pass, that the sons H3478 of Israel H7592 asked H3068 the Lord, H559 saying, H5927 Who shall go up H3669 for us against the Canaanites H8462 first, H3898 to fight against them?
  2 H3068 And the Lord H559 said, H3063 Judah H5927 shall go up: H5414 behold, I have delivered H776 the land H3027 into his hand.
  3 H3063 And Judah H559 said H8095 unto Simeon H251 his brother, H5927 Come up H1486 with me into my lot, H3898 that we may fight H3669 against the Canaanites; H1980 and I likewise will go H1486 with you into your lot. H8095 So Simeon H3212 went with him.
  4 H3063 And Judah H5927 went up; H3068 and the Lord H5414 delivered H3669 the Canaanites H6522 and the Perizzites H3027 into their hand: H5221 and they killed H966 of them in Bezek H6235 ten H505 thousand H376 men.
  5 H4672 And they found H137 Adoni–bezek H966 in Bezek: H3898 and they fought H5221 against him, and they killed H3669 the Canaanites H6522 and the Perizzites.
  6 H137 But Adoni–bezek H5127 fled; H7291 and they pursued H310 after H270 him, and caught H7112 him, and cut off H931 his thumbs H7272 and his great toes.
  7 H137 And Adoni–bezek H559 said, H7657 Sixty and ten H4428 kings, H931 having their thumbs H7272 and their great toes H7112 cut off, H3950 gathered H7979 their food under my table: H6213 as I have done, H430 so God H7999 has requited H935 me. And they brought H3389 him to Jerusalem, H4191 and there he died.

  10 H3063 And Judah H3212 went H3669 against the Canaanites H3427 that lived H2275 in Hebron: H8034 (now the name H2275 of Hebron H6440 before H7153 was Kirjath–arba:) H5221 and they killed H8344 Sheshai, H289 and Ahiman, H8526 and Talmai.
  11 H3212 And from there he went H3427 against the inhabitants H1688 of Debir: H8034 and the name H1688 of Debir H6440 before H7158 was Kirjath–sepher:
  12 H3612 And Caleb H559 said, H5221 He that strikes H7158 Kirjath–sepher, H3920 and takes H5414 it, to him will I give H5915 Achsah H1323 my daughter H802 to wife.
  13 H6274 And Othniel H1121 the son H7073 of Kenaz, H3612 Caleb's H6996 younger H251 brother, H3920 took H5414 it: and he gave H5915 him Achsah H1323 his daughter H802 to wife.
  14 H935 And it came to pass, when she came H5496 to him, that she moved H7592 him to ask H1 of her father H7704 a field: H6795 and she lighted H2543 from off her donkey; H3612 and Caleb H559 said unto her, What will you?

  17 H3063 And Judah H3212 went H8095 with Simeon H251 his brother, H5221 and they killed H3669 the Canaanites H3427 that inhabited H6857 Zephath, H2763 and utterly destroyed H8034 it. And the name H5892 of the city H7121 was called H2767 Hormah.
  18 H3063 Also Judah H3920 took H5804 Gaza H1366 with the coast H831 there, and Askelon H1366 with the coast H6138 there, and Ekron H1366 with the coast there.
  19 H3068 And the Lord H3063 was with Judah; H3423 and he drove out H2022 the inhabitants of the mountain; H3808 but could not H3423 drive out H3427 the inhabitants H6010 of the valley, H7393 because they had chariots H1270 of iron.
  20 H5414 And they gave H2275 Hebron H3612 unto Caleb, H4872 as Moses H1696 said: H3423 and he expelled H7969 there the three H1121 sons H6061 of Anak.
  21 H1121 And the sons H1144 of Benjamin H3423 did not drive out H2983 the Jebusites H3427 that inhabited H3389 Jerusalem; H2983 but the Jebusites H3427 live H1121 with the sons H1144 of Benjamin H3389 in Jerusalem H3117 unto this day.
  22 H1004 And the house H3130 of Joseph, H5927 they also went up H1008 against Beth–el: H3068 and the Lord was with them.
  23 H1004 And the house H3130 of Joseph H8446 sent to spy H1008 Beth–el. H8034 (Now the name H5892 of the city H6440 before H3870 was Luz.)
  24 H8104 And the spies H7200 saw H376 a man H3318 come forth H5892 out of the city, H559 and they said H7200 unto him, Show H3996 us, we pray you, the entrance H5892 into the city, H6213 and we will show H2617 you mercy.
  25 H7200 And when he showed H3996 them the entrance H5892 into the city, H5221 they struck H5892 the city H6310 with the edge H2719 of the sword; H7971 but they let go H376 the man H4940 and all his family.
  26 H376 And the man H3212 went H776 into the land H2850 of the Hittites, H1129 and built H5892 a city, H7121 and called H8034 the name H3870 there Luz: H8034 which is the name H3117 there unto this day.
  27 H4519 Neither did Manasseh H3423 drive out H1052 the inhabitants of Beth–shean H1323 and her towns, H8590 nor Taanach H1323 and her towns, H3427 nor the inhabitants H1756 of Dor H1323 and her towns, H3427 nor the inhabitants H2991 of Ibleam H1323 and her towns, H3427 nor the inhabitants H4023 of Megiddo H1323 and her towns: H3669 but the Canaanites H2974 would H3427 live H776 in that land.
  28 H3478 And it came to pass, when Israel H2388 was strong, H7760 that they put H3669 the Canaanites H4522 to tribute, H3423 and did not utterly H3423 drive them out.
  29 H669 Neither did Ephraim H3423 drive out H3669 the Canaanites H3427 that lived H1507 in Gezer; H3669 but the Canaanites H3427 lived H1507 in Gezer H7130 among them.
  30 H2074 Neither did Zebulun H3423 drive out H3427 the inhabitants H7003 of Kitron, H3427 nor the inhabitants H5096 of Nahalol; H3669 but the Canaanites H3427 lived H7130 among H4522 them, and became tributaries.
  31 H836 Neither did Asher H3423 drive out H3427 the inhabitants H5910 of Accho, H3427 nor the inhabitants H6721 of Zidon, H303 nor of Ahlab, H392 nor of Achzib, H2462 nor of Helbah, H663 nor of Aphik, H7340 nor of Rehob:
  32 H843 But the Asherites H3427 lived H7130 among H3669 the Canaanites, H3427 the inhabitants H776 of the land: H3423 for they did not drive them out.
  33 H5321 Neither did Naphtali H3423 drive out H3427 the inhabitants H1053 of Beth–shemesh, H3427 nor the inhabitants H1043 of Beth–anath; H3427 but he lived H7130 among H3669 the Canaanites, H3427 the inhabitants H776 of the land: H3427 nevertheless the inhabitants H1053 of Beth–shemesh H1043 and of Beth–anath H4522 became tributaries unto them.
  34 H567 And the Amorites H3905 forced H1121 the sons H1835 of Dan H2022 into the mountain: H5414 for they would not allow H3381 them to come down H6010 to the valley:
  35 H567 But the Amorites H2974 would H3427 live H2022 in mountain H2776 Heres H357 in Aijalon, H8169 and in Shaalbim: H3027 yet the hand H1004 of the house H3130 of Joseph H3513 prevailed, H4522 so that they became tributaries.
  36 H1366 And the coast H567 of the Amorites H4608 was from the going up H4610 to Akrabbim, H5553 from the rock, H4605 and upward.
