Numbers 8 And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,

1 H3068 And the LORD H1696 spoke H4872 to Moses, H559 saying,

2 H1696 Speak H175 to Aaron H559 and say H5927 to him, When you light H5216 the lamps, H7651 the seven H5216 lamps H216 shall give light H5922 over H6440 H4136 against H6440 H4501 the candlestick.

3 H175 And Aaron H6213 did H3651 so; H5927 he lighted H5216 the lamps H5922 thereof over H6440 H4136 against H6440 H4501 the candlestick, H3068 as the LORD H6680 commanded H4872 Moses.

4 H2088 And this H4639 work H4501 of the candlestick H4749 was of beaten H2091 gold, H3409 to the shaft H6525 thereof, to the flowers H4749 thereof, was beaten H4758 work: according to the pattern H3068 which the LORD H7200 had showed H4872 Moses, H3651 so H6213 he made H4501 the candlestick.

5 H3068 And the LORD H1696 spoke H4872 to Moses, H559 saying,

6 H3947 Take H3881 the Levites H8432 from among H1121 the children H3478 of Israel, H2891 and cleanse them.

7 H3541 And thus H6213 shall you do H2891 to them, to cleanse H5137 them: Sprinkle H4325 water H2403 of purifying H5674 on them, and let them shave H8593 H3605 all H1320 their flesh, H3526 and let them wash H899 their clothes, H1992 and so make themselves H2891 clean.

8 H3947 Then let them take H1121 a young H1241 H6499 bullock H4503 with his meat offering, H5560 even fine flour H1101 mingled H8081 with oil, H8145 and another H1121 young H1241 H6499 bullock H3947 shall you take H2403 for a sin offering.

9 H7126 And you shall bring H3881 the Levites H6440 before H168 the tabernacle H4150 of the congregation: H6950 and you shall gather H854 the whole H3605 H5712 assembly H1121 of the children H3478 of Israel together:

10 H7126 And you shall bring H3881 the Levites H6440 before H3068 the LORD: H1121 and the children H3478 of Israel H5564 shall put H3027 their hands H3881 on the Levites:

11 H175 And Aaron H5130 shall offer H3881 the Levites H6440 before H3068 the LORD H8573 for an offering H1121 of the children H3478 of Israel, H5647 that they may execute H5656 the service H3068 of the LORD.

12 H3881 And the Levites H5564 shall lay H3027 their hands H7218 on the heads H6499 of the bullocks: H6213 and you shall offer H259 the one H2403 for a sin H259 offering, and the other H5930 for a burnt H3068 offering, to the LORD, H3722 to make an atonement H3881 for the Levites.

13 H5975 And you shall set H3881 the Levites H6440 before H175 Aaron, H6440 and before H1121 his sons, H5130 and offer H8573 them for an offering H3068 to the LORD.

14 H914 Thus shall you separate H3881 the Levites H8432 from among H1121 the children H3478 of Israel: H3881 and the Levites shall be mine.

15 H310 And after H3881 that shall the Levites H935 go H5647 in to do H5647 the service H168 of the tabernacle H4150 of the congregation: H2891 and you shall cleanse H5130 them, and offer H8573 them for an offering.

16 H5414 For they are wholly given H8432 to me from among H1121 the children H3478 of Israel; H8478 instead H6363 of such as open H3605 every H7358 womb, H1060 even instead of the firstborn H3605 of all H1121 the children H3478 of Israel, H3947 have I taken them to me.

17 H3605 For all H1060 the firstborn H1121 of the children H3478 of Israel H120 are mine, both man H929 and beast: H3117 on the day H5221 that I smote H3605 every H1060 firstborn H776 in the land H4714 of Egypt H6942 I sanctified them for myself.

18 H3947 And I have taken H3881 the Levites H3605 for all H1060 the firstborn H1121 of the children H3478 of Israel.

19 H5414 And I have given H3881 the Levites H175 as a gift to Aaron H1121 and to his sons H8432 from among H1121 the children H3478 of Israel, H5647 to do H5656 the service H1121 of the children H3478 of Israel H168 in the tabernacle H4150 of the congregation, H3722 and to make an atonement H1121 for the children H3478 of Israel: H3808 that there be no H5063 plague H1121 among the children H3478 of Israel, H1121 when the children H3478 of Israel H5066 come H5066 near H6944 to the sanctuary.

20 H4872 And Moses, H175 and Aaron, H3605 and all H5712 the congregation H1121 of the children H3478 of Israel, H6213 did H3881 to the Levites H3605 according to all H3068 that the LORD H6680 commanded H4872 Moses H3881 concerning the Levites, H3651 so H6213 did H1121 the children H3478 of Israel to them.

21 H3881 And the Levites H2398 were purified, H3526 and they washed H899 their clothes; H175 and Aaron H5130 offered H8573 them as an offering H6440 before H3068 the LORD; H175 and Aaron H3722 made an atonement H2891 for them to cleanse them.

22 H310 And after H935 that went H3881 the Levites H5647 in to do H5656 their service H168 in the tabernacle H4150 of the congregation H6440 before H175 Aaron, H6440 and before H1121 his sons: H3068 as the LORD H6680 had commanded H4872 Moses H5921 concerning H3881 the Levites, H3651 so H6213 did they to them.

23 H3068 And the LORD H1696 spoke H4872 to Moses, H559 saying,

24 H2063 This H3881 is it that belongs to the Levites: H6242 from twenty H2568 and five H8141 years H1121 old H4605 and upward H935 they shall go H6633 in to wait H5656 on the service H168 of the tabernacle H4150 of the congregation:

25 H1121 And from the age H2572 of fifty H8141 years H7725 they shall cease H6635 waiting H5656 on the service H5647 thereof, and shall serve H3808 no H5750 more:

26 H8334 But shall minister H251 with their brothers H168 in the tabernacle H4150 of the congregation, H8104 to keep H4931 the charge, H5647 and shall do H3808 no H5656 service. H3602 Thus H6213 shall you do H3881 to the Levites H4931 touching their charge.
