Ia tak boleh menyentuh barang-barang yang dipakai untuk ibadat dan tak boleh memasuki Kemah TUHAN sampai masa penyuciannya selesai. ⁵ Apabila seorang wanita melahirkan anak perempuan, maka selama empat belas hari wanita itu najis, sama seperti waktu ia sedang haid. Sesudahnya enam puluh enam hari lagi wanita itu masih najis karena mengeluarkan darah. ⁶ Sesudah masa penyuciannya selesai, baik karena telah melahirkan anak laki-laki atau anak perempuan, wanita itu harus membawa persembahan kepada imam di depan pintu Kemah TUHAN. Persembahan itu berupa seekor anak domba yang berumur satu tahun untuk kurban bakaran, dan seekor burung merpati muda atau tekukur muda untuk kurban pengampunan dosa.
