2 Kings 5 ונעמן Now Naaman, שׂר captain צבא of the host מלך of the king ארם of Syria, היה was אישׁ man גדול a great לפני with אדניו his master, ונשׂא and honorable, פנים and honorable, כי because בו נתן had given יהוה by him the LORD תשׁועה deliverance לארם unto Syria: והאישׁ man היה he was גבור also a mighty חיל in valor, מצרע׃ a leper.

1 H5283 ונעמן Now Naaman, H8269 שׂר captain H6635 צבא of the host H4428 מלך of the king H758 ארם of Syria, H1961 היה was H376 אישׁ man H1419 גדול a great H6440 לפני with H113 אדניו his master, H5375 ונשׂא and honorable, H6440 פנים and honorable, H3588 כי because H5414 בו נתן had given H3068 יהוה by him the LORD H8668 תשׁועה deliverance H758 לארם unto Syria: H376 והאישׁ man H1961 היה he was H1368 גבור also a mighty H2428 חיל in valor, H6879 מצרע׃ a leper.

2 H758 וארם And the Syrians H3318 יצאו had gone out H1416 גדודים by companies, H7617 וישׁבו and had brought away captive H776 מארץ out of the land H3478 ישׂראל of Israel H5291 נערה maid; H6996 קטנה a little H1961 ותהי and she waited H6440 לפני and she waited H802 אשׁת wife. H5283 נעמן׃ on Naaman's

3 H559 ותאמר And she said H413 אל unto H1404 גברתה her mistress, H305 אחלי Would God H113 אדני my lord H6440 לפני with H5030 הנביא the prophet H834 אשׁר that H8111 בשׁמרון in Samaria! H227 אז for H622 יאסף he would recover H853 אתו H6883 מצרעתו׃ him of his leprosy.

4 H935 ויבא And went in, H5046 ויגד and told H113 לאדניו his lord, H559 לאמר saying, H2063 כזאת Thus H2063 וכזאת and thus H1696 דברה said H5291 הנערה the maid H834 אשׁר that H776 מארץ of the land H3478 ישׂראל׃ of Israel.

5 H559 ויאמר said, H4428 מלך And the king H758 ארם of Syria H1980 לך Go to, H935 בא go, H7971 ואשׁלחה and I will send H5612 ספר a letter H413 אל unto H4428 מלך the king H3478 ישׂראל of Israel. H1980 וילך And he departed, H3947 ויקח and took H3027 בידו with H6235 עשׂר him ten H3603 ככרי talents H3701 כסף of silver, H8337 ושׁשׁת and six H505 אלפים thousand H2091 זהב of gold, H6235 ועשׂר and ten H2487 חליפות changes H899 בגדים׃ of raiment.

6 H935 ויבא And he brought H5612 הספר the letter H413 אל to H4428 מלך the king H3478 ישׂראל of Israel, H559 לאמר saying, H6258 ועתה Now H935 כבוא is come H5612 הספר letter H2088 הזה when this H413 אליך unto H2009 הנה thee, behold, H7971 שׁלחתי I have sent H413 אליך to H853 את H5283 נעמן Naaman H5650 עבדי my servant H622 ואספתו thee, that thou mayest recover H6883 מצרעתו׃ him of his leprosy.

7 H1961 ויהי And it came to pass, H7121 כקרא had read H4428 מלך when the king H3478 ישׂראל of Israel H853 את H5612 הספר the letter, H7167 ויקרע that he rent H899 בגדיו his clothes, H559 ויאמר and said, H430 האלהים God, H589 אני I H4191 להמית to kill H2421 ולהחיות and to make alive, H3588 כי that H2088 זה this H7971 שׁלח man doth send H413 אלי unto H622 לאסף me to recover H376 אישׁ a man H6883 מצרעתו of his leprosy? H3588 כי wherefore H389 אך wherefore H3045 דעו consider, H4994 נא I pray you, H7200 וראו and see H3588 כי how H579 מתאנה seeketh a quarrel H1931 הוא׃ he

8 H1961 ויהי And it was H8085 כשׁמע had heard H477 אלישׁע when Elisha H376 אישׁ the man H430 האלהים of God H3588 כי that H7167 קרע had rent H4428 מלך the king H3478 ישׂראל of Israel H853 את H899 בגדיו his clothes, H7971 וישׁלח that he sent H413 אל to H4428 המלך the king, H559 לאמר saying, H4100 למה Wherefore H7167 קרעת hast thou rent H899 בגדיך thy clothes? H935 יבא let him come H4994 נא now H413 אלי to H3045 וידע me, and he shall know H3588 כי that H3426 ישׁ there is H5030 נביא a prophet H3478 בישׂראל׃ in Israel.

9 H935 ויבא came H5283 נעמן So Naaman H5483 בסוסו with his horses H7393 וברכבו and with his chariot, H5975 ויעמד and stood H6607 פתח at the door H1004 הבית of the house H477 לאלישׁע׃ of Elisha.

10 H7971 וישׁלח sent H413 אליו unto H477 אלישׁע And Elisha H4397 מלאך a messenger H559 לאמר him, saying, H1980 הלוך Go H7364 ורחצת and wash H7651 שׁבע seven H6471 פעמים times, H3383 בירדן in Jordan H7725 וישׁב shall come again H1320 בשׂרך and thy flesh H2891 לך וטהר׃ to thee, and thou shalt be clean.

11 H7107 ויקצף was wroth, H5283 נעמן But Naaman H1980 וילך and went away, H559 ויאמר and said, H2009 הנה Behold, H559 אמרתי I thought, H413 אלי to H3318 יצא H3318 יצוא H5975 ועמד me, and stand, H7121 וקרא and call H8034 בשׁם on the name H3068 יהוה of the LORD H430 אלהיו his God, H5130 והניף and strike H3027 ידו his hand H413 אל over H4725 המקום the place, H622 ואסף and recover H6879 המצרע׃ the leper.

12 H3808 הלא not H2896 טוב better H71 אבנה Abana H6554 ופרפר and Pharpar, H5104 נהרות rivers H1834 דמשׂק of Damascus, H3605 מכל than all H4325 מימי the waters H3478 ישׂראל of Israel? H3808 הלא may I not H7364 ארחץ wash H2891 בהם וטהרתי in them, and be clean? H6437 ויפן So he turned H1980 וילך and went away H2534 בחמה׃ in a rage.

13 H5066 ויגשׁו came near, H5650 עבדיו And his servants H1696 וידברו and spoke H413 אליו unto H559 ויאמרו him, and said, H1 אבי My father, H1697 דבר thing, H1419 גדול thee great H5030 הנביא the prophet H1696 דבר had bid H413 אליך had bid H3808 הלוא wouldest thou not H6213 תעשׂה have done H637 ואף how much rather H3588 כי then, when H559 אמר he saith H413 אליך to H7364 רחץ thee, Wash, H2891 וטהר׃ and be clean?

14 H3381 וירד Then went he down, H2881 ויטבל and dipped H3383 בירדן in Jordan, H7651 שׁבע himself seven H6471 פעמים times H1697 כדבר according to the saying H376 אישׁ of the man H430 האלהים of God: H7725 וישׁב came again H1320 בשׂרו and his flesh H1320 כבשׂר like unto the flesh H5288 נער child, H6996 קטן of a little H2891 ויטהר׃ and he was clean.

15 H7725 וישׁב And he returned H413 אל to H376 אישׁ the man H430 האלהים of God, H1931 הוא he H3605 וכל and all H4264 מחנהו his company, H935 ויבא and came, H5975 ויעמד and stood H6440 לפניו before H559 ויאמר him: and he said, H2009 הנה Behold, H4994 נא now H3045 ידעתי I know H3588 כי that H369 אין no H430 אלהים God H3605 בכל in all H776 הארץ the earth, H3588 כי but H518 אם but H3478 בישׂראל in Israel: H6258 ועתה now H3947 קח take H4994 נא therefore, I pray thee, H1293 ברכה a blessing H853 מאת H5650 עבדך׃ thy servant.

16 H559 ויאמר But he said, H2416 חי liveth, H3068 יהוה the LORD H834 אשׁר whom H5975 עמדתי I stand, H6440 לפניו before H518 אם H3947 אקח I will receive H6484 ויפצר none. And he urged H3947 בו לקחת him to take H3985 וימאן׃ but he refused.

17 H559 ויאמר said, H5283 נעמן And Naaman H3808 ולא Shall there not H5414 יתן be given H4994 נא then, I pray thee, H5650 לעבדך to thy servant H4853 משׂא burden H6776 צמד H6505 פרדים H127 אדמה of earth? H3588 כי for H3808 לוא neither H6213 יעשׂה offer H5750 עוד will henceforth H5650 עבדך thy servant H5930 עלה burnt offering H2077 וזבח nor sacrifice H430 לאלהים gods, H312 אחרים unto other H3588 כי but H518 אם but H3068 ליהוה׃ unto the LORD.

18 H1697 לדבר thing H2088 הזה In this H5545 יסלח pardon H3068 יהוה the LORD H5650 לעבדך thy servant, H935 בבוא goeth H113 אדני when my master H1004 בית into the house H7417 רמון of Rimmon H7812 להשׁתחות to worship H8033 שׁמה there, H1931 והוא and he H8172 נשׁען leaneth H5921 על on H3027 ידי my hand, H7812 והשׁתחויתי and I bow myself H1004 בית in the house H7417 רמן of Rimmon: H7812 בהשׁתחויתי when I bow down myself H1004 בית in the house H7417 רמן of Rimmon, H5545 יסלח pardon H4994 נא H3068 יהוה the LORD H5650 לעבדך thy servant H1697 בדבר thing. H2088 הזה׃ in this

19 H559 ויאמר And he said H1980 לו לך unto him, Go H7965 לשׁלום in peace. H1980 וילך So he departed H853 מאתו H3530 כברת him a little way. H776 ארץ׃ him a little way.

20 H559 ויאמר said, H1522 גיחזי But Gehazi, H5288 נער the servant H477 אלישׁע of Elisha H376 אישׁ the man H430 האלהים of God, H2009 הנה Behold, H2820 חשׂך hath spared H113 אדני my master H853 את H5283 נעמן Naaman H761 הארמי Syrian, H2088 הזה this H3947 מקחת in not receiving H3027 מידו at his hands H853 את H834 אשׁר that which H935 הביא he brought: H2416 חי liveth, H3068 יהוה the LORD H3588 כי but, H518 אם but, H7323 רצתי I will run H310 אחריו after H3947 ולקחתי him, and take H853 מאתו H3972 מאומה׃ somewhat

21 H7291 וירדף followed H1522 גיחזי So Gehazi H310 אחרי after H5283 נעמן Naaman. H7200 ויראה saw H5283 נעמן And when Naaman H7323 רץ running H310 אחריו after H5307 ויפל him, he lighted down H5921 מעל from H4818 המרכבה the chariot H7125 לקראתו H559 ויאמר him, and said, H7965 השׁלום׃ all well?

22 H559 ויאמר And he said, H7965 שׁלום All well. H113 אדני My master H7971 שׁלחני hath sent H559 לאמר me, saying, H2009 הנה Behold, H6258 עתה even now H2088 זה even now H935 באו there be come H413 אלי to H8147 שׁני two H5288 נערים young men H2022 מהר me from mount H669 אפרים Ephraim H1121 מבני of the sons H5030 הנביאים of the prophets: H5414 תנה give H4994 נא them, I pray thee, H3603 להם ככר a talent H3701 כסף of silver, H8147 ושׁתי and two H2487 חלפות changes H899 בגדים׃ of garments.

23 H559 ויאמר said, H5283 נעמן And Naaman H2974 הואל Be content, H3947 קח take H3603 ככרים two talents. H6555 ויפרץ And he urged H6887 בו ויצר H3603 ככרים two talents H3701 כסף of silver H8147 בשׁני in two H2754 חרטים bags, H8147 ושׁתי with two H2487 חלפות changes H899 בגדים of garments, H5414 ויתן and laid H413 אל upon H8147 שׁני two H5288 נעריו of his servants; H5375 וישׂאו and they bore H6440 לפניו׃ before

24 H935 ויבא And when he came H413 אל to H6076 העפל the tower, H3947 ויקח he took H3027 מידם from their hand, H6485 ויפקד and bestowed H1004 בבית in the house: H7971 וישׁלח go, H853 את H582 האנשׁים H1980 וילכו׃ and they departed.

25 H1931 והוא But he H935 בא went in, H5975 ויעמד and stood H413 אל before H113 אדניו his master. H559 ויאמר said H413 אליו unto H477 אלישׁע And Elisha H575 מאן whither. H1522 גחזי Gehazi? H559 ויאמר And he said, H3808 לא no H1980 הלך went H5650 עבדך Thy servant H575 אנה whither. H575 ואנה׃

26 H559 ויאמר And he said H413 אליו unto H3808 לא not H3820 לבי mine heart H1980 הלך him, Went H834 כאשׁר when H2015 הפך turned again H376 אישׁ the man H5921 מעל from H4818 מרכבתו his chariot H7125 לקראתך H6256 העת thee? a time H3947 לקחת to receive H853 את H3701 הכסף money, H3947 ולקחת and to receive H899 בגדים garments, H2132 וזיתים and oliveyards, H3754 וכרמים and vineyards, H6629 וצאן and sheep, H1241 ובקר and oxen, H5650 ועבדים and menservants, H8198 ושׁפחות׃ and maidservants?

27 H6883 וצרעת The leprosy H5283 נעמן therefore of Naaman H1692 תדבק shall cleave H2233 בך ובזרעך unto thee, and unto thy seed H5769 לעולם forever. H3318 ויצא And he went out H6440 מלפניו from his presence H6879 מצרע a leper H7950 כשׁלג׃ as snow.
