Jeremiah 5 Run ye to and fro through the streets of Jerusalem, and see now, and know, and seek in the broad places thereof, if ye can find a man, if there be any that doeth justly, that seeketh truth; and I will pardon her.

1 H7751 Run ye to and fro H2351 through the streets H3389 of Jerusalem, H7200 and see H3045 now, and know, H1245 and seek H7339 in the broad places H4672 thereof, if ye can find H376 a man, H3426 if there be H6213 any that doeth H4941 justly, H1245 that seeketh H530 truth; H5545 and I will pardon her.

2 H559 And though they say, H3068 As Jehovah H2416 liveth; H7650 surely they swear H8267 falsely.

3 H3068 O Jehovah, H5869 do not thine eyes H530 look upon truth? H5221 thou hast stricken H2342 them, but they were not grieved; H3615 thou hast consumed H3985 them, but they have refused H3947 to receive H4148 correction: H6440 they have made their faces H2388 harder H5553 than a rock; H3985 they have refused H7725 to return.

4 H559 Then I said, H1800 Surely these are poor; H2973 they are foolish; H3045 for they know H1870 not the way H3068 of Jehovah, H4941 nor the law H430 of their God:

5 H3212 I will get H1419 me unto the great men, H1696 and will speak H3045 unto them; for they know H1870 the way H3068 of Jehovah, H4941 and the law H430 of their God. H3162 But these with one accord H7665 have broken H5923 the yoke, H5423 and burst H4147 the bonds.

6 H738 Wherefore a lion H3293 out of the forest H5221 shall slay H2061 them, a wolf H6160 of the evenings H7703 shall destroy H5246 them, a leopard H8245 shall watch H5892 against their cities; H3318 every one that goeth out H2007 thence shall H2963 be torn in pieces; H6588 because their transgressions H7231 are many, H4878 and their backslidings H6105 are increased.

7 H335 How H5545 can I pardon H2063 thee? thy H1121 children H5800 have forsaken H7650 me, and sworn H3808 by them that are no H430 gods. H7650 When I had fed them to the full, H5003 they committed adultery, H1413 and assembled themselves in troops H2181 at the harlots' H1004 houses.

8 H2109 They were as fed H5483 horses H7904 roaming at large; H376 every one H6670 neighed H7453 after his neighbor's H802 wife.

9 H6485 Shall I not visit H5002 for these things? saith H3068 Jehovah; H5315 and shall not my soul H5358 be avenged H1471 on such a nation as this?

10 H5927 Go ye up H8284 upon her walls, H7843 and destroy; H6213 but make H3617 not a full end: H5493 take away H5189 her branches; H3068 for they are not Jehovah's.

11 H1004 For the house H3478 of Israel H1004 and the house H3063 of Judah H898 have dealt very H898 treacherously H5002 against me, saith H3068 Jehovah.

12 H3584 They have denied H3068 Jehovah, H559 and said, H7451 It is not he; neither shall evil H935 come H7200 upon us; neither shall we see H2719 sword H7458 nor famine:

13 H5030 and the prophets H7307 shall become wind, H1696 and the word H6213 is not in them: thus shall it be done unto them.

14 H559 Wherefore thus saith H3068 Jehovah, H430 the God H6635 of hosts, H1696 Because ye speak H1697 this word, H5414 behold, I will make H1697 my words H6310 in thy mouth H784 fire, H5971 and this people H6086 wood, H398 and it shall devour them.

15 H935 Lo, I will bring H1471 a nation H4801 upon you from far, H1004 O house H3478 of Israel, H5002 saith H3068 Jehovah: H386 it is a mighty H1471 nation, H5769 it is an ancient H1471 nation, H1471 a nation H3956 whose language H3045 thou knowest H8085 not, neither understandest H1696 what they say.

16 H827 Their quiver H6605 is an open H6913 sepulchre, H1368 they are all mighty men.

17 H398 And they shall eat up H7105 thy harvest, H3899 and thy bread, H1121 which thy sons H1323 and thy daughters H398 should eat; H398 they shall eat up H6629 thy flocks H1241 and thy herds; H398 they shall eat up H1612 thy vines H8384 and thy fig-trees; H7567 they shall beat down H4013 thy fortified H5892 cities, H2007 wherein thou H982 trustest, H2719 with the sword.

18 H3117 But even in those days, H5002 saith H3068 Jehovah, H6213 I will not make H3617 a full end with you.

19 H559 And it shall come to pass, when ye shall say, H8478 Wherefore H3068 hath Jehovah H430 our God H6213 done H559 all these things unto us? then shalt thou say H5800 unto them, Like as ye have forsaken H5647 me, and served H5236 foreign H430 gods H776 in your land, H5647 so shall ye serve H2114 strangers H776 in a land that is not yours.

20 H5046 Declare H1004 ye this in the house H3290 of Jacob, H8085 and publish H3063 it in Judah, H559 saying,

21 H8085 Hear H5530 now this, O foolish H5971 people, H3820 and without understanding; H5869 that have eyes, H7200 and see H241 not; that have ears, H8085 and hear not:

22 H3372 Fear H5002 ye not me? saith H3068 Jehovah: H2342 will ye not tremble H6440 at my presence, H7760 who have placed H2344 the sand H1366 for the bound H3220 of the sea, H5769 by a perpetual H2706 decree, H5674 that it cannot pass H1530 it? and though the waves H1607 thereof toss H3201 themselves, yet can they not prevail; H1993 though they roar, H5674 yet can they not pass over it.

23 H5971 But this people H5637 hath a revolting H4784 and a rebellious H3820 heart; H5493 they are revolted H3212 and gone.

24 H559 Neither say H3824 they in their heart, H3372 Let us now fear H3068 Jehovah H430 our God, H5414 that giveth H1653 rain, H3138 both the former H4456 and the latter, H6256 in its season; H8104 that preserveth H2708 unto us the appointed H7620 weeks H7105 of the harvest.

25 H5771 Your iniquities H5186 have turned away H2403 these things, and your sins H4513 have withholden H2896 good from you.

26 H5971 For among my people H4672 are found H7563 wicked H7918 men: they watch, H3353 as fowlers H7789 lie in wait; H5324 they set H4889 a trap, H3920 they catch H582 men.

27 H3619 As a cage H4392 is full H5775 of birds, H1004 so are their houses H4392 full H4820 of deceit: H1431 therefore they are become great, H6238 and waxed rich.

28 H8080 They are waxed fat, H6245 they shine: H5674 yea, they overpass H1697 in deeds H7451 of wickedness; H1777 they plead H1779 not the cause, H3490 the cause of the fatherless, H6743 that they may prosper; H4941 and the right H34 of the needy H8199 do they not judge.

29 H6485 Shall I not visit H5002 for these things? saith H3068 Jehovah; H5315 shall not my soul H5358 be avenged H1471 on such a nation as this?

30 H8047 A wonderful H8186 and horrible thing H1961 is come H776 to pass in the land:

31 H5030 the prophets H5012 prophesy H8267 falsely, H3548 and the priests H7287 bear rule H3027 by their means; H5971 and my people H157 love H6213 to have it so: and what will ye do H319 in the end thereof?
