  13 H1980 לכי Go H935 ובאי and get thee in H413 אל unto H4428 המלך king H1732 דוד David, H559 ואמרת and say H413 אליו unto H3808 הלא him, Didst not H859 אתה thou, H113 אדני my lord, H4428 המלך O king, H7650 נשׁבעת swear H519 לאמתך unto thine handmaid, H559 לאמר saying, H3588 כי Assuredly H8010 שׁלמה Solomon H1121 בנך thy son H4427 ימלך shall reign H310 אחרי after H1931 והוא me, and he H3427 ישׁב shall sit H5921 על upon H3678 כסאי my throne? H4069 ומדוע why H4427 מלך reign? H138 אדניהו׃ then doth Adonijah

  18 H6258 ועתה And now, H2009 הנה behold, H138 אדניה Adonijah H4427 מלך reigneth; H6258 ועתה and now, H113 אדני my lord H4428 המלך the king, H3808 לא not: H3045 ידעת׃ thou knowest

  19 H2076 ויזבח And he hath slain H7794 שׁור oxen H4806 ומריא and fat cattle H6629 וצאן and sheep H7230 לרב in abundance, H7121 ויקרא and hath called H3605 לכל all H1121 בני the sons H4428 המלך of the king, H54 ולאביתר and Abiathar H3548 הכהן the priest, H3097 וליאב and Joab H8269 שׂר the captain H6635 הצבא of the host: H8010 ולשׁלמה but Solomon H5650 עבדך thy servant H3808 לא hath he not H7121 קרא׃ called.

  26 H589 ולי אני But me, me H5650 עבדך thy servant, H6659 ולצדק and Zadok H3548 הכהן the priest, H1141 ולבניהו and Benaiah H1121 בן the son H3077 יהוידע of Jehoiada, H8010 ולשׁלמה Solomon, H5650 עבדך and thy servant H3808 לא hath he not H7121 קרא׃ called.

  27 H518 אם   H853 מאת   H113 אדני my lord H4428 המלך the king, H1961 נהיה done H1697 הדבר thing H2088 הזה Is this H3808 ולא and thou hast not H3045 הודעת showed unto H853 את   H5650 עבדיך thy servant, H4310 מי who H3427 ישׁב should sit H5921 על on H3678 כסא the throne H113 אדני of my lord H4428 המלך the king H310 אחריו׃ after

  52 H559 ויאמר said, H8010 שׁלמה And Solomon H518 אם If H1961 יהיה he will show H1121 לבן man, H2428 חיל himself a worthy H3808 לא there shall not H5307 יפל him fall H8185 משׂערתו   H776 ארצה to the earth: H518 ואם but if H7451 רעה wickedness H4672 תמצא shall be found H4191 בו ומת׃ in him, he shall die.

  4 H4616 למען That H6965 יקים may continue H3068 יהוה the LORD H853 את   H1697 דברו his word H834 אשׁר which H1696 דבר he spoke H5921 עלי concerning H559 לאמר me, saying, H518 אם If H8104 ישׁמרו take heed H1121 בניך thy children H853 את   H1870 דרכם to their way, H1980 ללכת to walk H6440 לפני before H571 באמת me in truth H3605 בכל with all H3824 לבבם their heart H3605 ובכל and with all H5315 נפשׁם their soul, H559 לאמר thee (said H3808 לא there shall not H3772 יכרת fail H376 לך אישׁ he) a man H5921 מעל on H3678 כסא the throne H3478 ישׂראל׃ of Israel.

  6 H6213 ועשׂית Do H2451 כחכמתך therefore according to thy wisdom, H3808 ולא and let not H3381 תורד go down H7872 שׂיבתו his hoar head H7965 בשׁלם in peace. H7585 שׁאל׃ to the grave

  17 H559 ויאמר And he said, H559 אמרי Speak, H4994 נא I pray thee, H8010 לשׁלמה unto Solomon H4428 המלך the king, H3588 כי (for H3808 לא he will not H7725 ישׁיב   H853 את   H6440 פניך   H5414 ויתן that he give H853 לי את   H49 אבישׁג me Abishag H7767 השׁונמית the Shunammite H802 לאשׁה׃ to wife.

  20 H559 ותאמר Then she said, H7596 שׁאלה petition H259 אחת one H6996 קטנה small H595 אנכי I H7592 שׁאלת desire H853 מאתך   H408 אל thee; say me not nay. H7725 תשׁב   H853 את   H6440 פני   H559 ויאמר said H4428 לה המלך And the king H7592 שׁאלי unto her, Ask on, H517 אמי my mother: H3588 כי for H3808 לא I will not H7725 אשׁיב   H853 את   H6440 פניך׃  

  26 H54 ולאביתר And unto Abiathar H3548 הכהן the priest H559 אמר said H4428 המלך the king, H6068 ענתת thee to Anathoth, H1980 לך Get H5921 על unto H7704 שׂדיך thine own fields; H3588 כי for H376 אישׁ worthy H4194 מות of death: H859 אתה thou H3117 וביום time H2088 הזה at this H3808 לא but I will not H4191 אמיתך put thee to death, H3588 כי because H5375 נשׂאת thou didst bear H853 את   H727 ארון the ark H136 אדני of the Lord H3069 יהוה   H6440 לפני before H1732 דוד David H1 אבי my father, H3588 וכי and because H6031 התענית thou hast been afflicted H3605 בכל in all H834 אשׁר wherein H6031 התענה was afflicted. H1 אבי׃ my father

  28 H8052 והשׁמעה Then tidings H935 באה came H5704 עד to H3097 יואב Joab: H3588 כי for H3097 יואב Joab H5186 נטה had turned H310 אחרי after H138 אדניה Adonijah, H310 ואחרי after H53 אבשׁלום Absalom. H3808 לא not H5186 נטה though he turned H5127 וינס fled H3097 יואב And Joab H413 אל unto H168 אהל the tabernacle H3068 יהוה of the LORD, H2388 ויחזק and caught hold H7161 בקרנות on the horns H4196 המזבח׃ of the altar.

  30 H935 ויבא came H1141 בניהו And Benaiah H413 אל to H168 אהל the tabernacle H3068 יהוה of the LORD, H559 ויאמר and said H413 אליו unto H3541 כה him, Thus H559 אמר saith H4428 המלך the king, H3318 צא Come forth. H559 ויאמר And he said, H3808 לא Nay; H3588 כי but H6311 פה here. H4191 אמות I will die H7725 וישׁב brought H1141 בניהו And Benaiah H853 את   H4428 המלך the king H1697 דבר word H559 לאמר again, saying, H3541 כה Thus H1696 דבר said H3097 יואב Joab, H3541 וכה and thus H6030 ענני׃ he answered

  32 H7725 והשׁיב shall return H3068 יהוה And the LORD H853 את   H1818 דמו his blood H5921 על upon H7218 ראשׁו his own head, H834 אשׁר who H6293 פגע fell H8147 בשׁני upon two H376 אנשׁים men H6662 צדקים more righteous H2896 וטבים and better H4480 ממנו than H2026 ויהרגם he, and slew H2719 בחרב them with the sword, H1 ואבי my father H1732 דוד David H3808 לא not H3045 ידע knowing H853 את   H74 אבנר Abner H1121 בן the son H5369 נר of Ner, H8269 שׂר captain H6635 צבא of the host H3478 ישׂראל of Israel, H853 ואת   H6021 עמשׂא and Amasa H1121 בן the son H3500 יתר of Jether, H8269 שׂר captain H6635 צבא of the host H3063 יהודה׃ of Judah.

  36 H7971 וישׁלח sent H4428 המלך And the king H7121 ויקרא and called H8096 לשׁמעי for Shimei, H559 ויאמר and said H1129 לו בנה unto him, Build H1004 לך בית thee a house H3389 בירושׁלם in Jerusalem, H3427 וישׁבת and dwell H8033 שׁם there, H3808 ולא and go not forth H3318 תצא and go not forth H8033 משׁם thence H575 אנה any H575 ואנה׃ whither.

  42 H7971 וישׁלח sent H4428 המלך And the king H7121 ויקרא and called H8096 לשׁמעי for Shimei, H559 ויאמר and said H413 אליו unto H3808 הלוא him, Did I not H7650 השׁבעתיך make thee to swear H3068 ביהוה by the LORD, H5749 ואעד and protested H559 בך לאמר unto thee, saying, H3117 ביום on the day H3318 צאתך thou goest out, H1980 והלכת and walkest abroad H575 אנה any H575 ואנה whither, H3045 ידע   H3045 תדע   H3588 כי that H4191 מות thou shalt surely die?   43 H4069 ומדוע Why H3808 לא then hast thou not H8104 שׁמרת kept H853 את   H7621 שׁבעת the oath H3068 יהוה of the LORD, H853 ואת   H4687 המצוה and the commandment H834 אשׁר that H6680 צויתי I have charged H5921 עליך׃ thee

  2 H7535 רק Only H5971 העם the people H2076 מזבחים sacrificed H1116 בבמות in high places, H3588 כי because H3808 לא there was no H1129 נבנה built H1004 בית house H8034 לשׁם unto the name H3068 יהוה of the LORD, H5704 עד until H3117 הימים days. H1992 ההם׃ those

  7 H6258 ועתה And now, H3068 יהוה O LORD H430 אלהי my God, H859 אתה thou H4427 המלכת king H853 את   H5650 עבדך hast made thy servant H8478 תחת instead H1732 דוד of David H1 אבי my father: H595 ואנכי and I H5288 נער child: H6996 קטן a little H3808 לא not H3045 אדע I know H3318 צאת to go out H935 ובא׃ or come in.

  8 H5650 ועבדך And thy servant H8432 בתוך in the midst H5971 עמך of thy people H834 אשׁר which H977 בחרת thou hast chosen, H5971 עם people, H7227 רב a great H834 אשׁר that H3808 לא cannot H4487 ימנה be numbered H3808 ולא nor H5608 יספר counted H7230 מרב׃ for multitude.

  11 H559 ויאמר said H430 אלהים And God H413 אליו unto H3282 יען   H834 אשׁר   H7592 שׁאלת thou hast asked H853 את   H1697 הדבר thing, H2088 הזה this H3808 ולא and hast not H7592 שׁאלת asked H3117 לך ימים life; H7227 רבים for thyself long H3808 ולא neither H7592 שׁאלת hast asked H6239 לך עשׁר riches H3808 ולא for thyself, nor H7592 שׁאלת hast asked H5315 נפשׁ the life H341 איביך of thine enemies; H7592 ושׁאלת but hast asked H995 לך הבין for thyself understanding H8085 לשׁמע to discern H4941 משׁפט׃ judgment;

  12 H2009 הנה Behold, H6213 עשׂיתי I have done H1697 כדבריך according to thy words: H2009 הנה lo, H5414 נתתי I have given H3820 לך לב heart; H2450 חכם thee a wise H995 ונבון and an understanding H834 אשׁר so that H3644 כמוך like thee H3808 לא none H1961 היה there was H6440 לפניך before H310 ואחריך after H3808 לא thee, neither H6965 יקום thee shall any arise H3644 כמוך׃ like unto thee.

  13 H1571 וגם And I have also H834 אשׁר thee that which H3808 לא thou hast not H7592 שׁאלת asked, H5414 נתתי given H1571 לך גם both H6239 עשׁר riches, H1571 גם and H3519 כבוד honor: H834 אשׁר so that H3808 לא there shall not H1961 היה be H3644 כמוך like unto thee H376 אישׁ any H4428 במלכים among the kings H3605 כל all H3117 ימיך׃ thy days.

  21 H6965 ואקם And when I rose H1242 בבקר in the morning H3243 להיניק   H853 את   H1121 בני my son, H2009 והנה behold, H4191 מת it was dead: H995 ואתבונן   H413 אליו   H1242 בבקר it in the morning, H2009 והנה behold, H3808 לא not H1961 היה it was H1121 בני   H834 אשׁר which H3205 ילדתי׃ I did bear.

  22 H559 ותאמר said, H802 האשׁה woman H312 האחרת And the other H3808 לא Nay; H3588 כי but H1121 בני my son, H2416 החי the living H1121 ובנך thy son. H4191 המת and the dead H2063 וזאת And this H559 אמרת said, H3808 לא No; H3588 כי but H1121 בנך thy son, H4191 המת the dead H1121 ובני my son. H2416 החי and the living H1696 ותדברנה Thus they spoke H6440 לפני before H4428 המלך׃ the king.

  23 H559 ויאמר Then said H4428 המלך the king, H2063 זאת The one H559 אמרת saith, H2088 זה This H1121 בני my son H2416 החי that liveth, H1121 ובנך and thy son H4191 המת the dead: H2063 וזאת and the other H559 אמרת saith, H3808 לא Nay; H3588 כי but H1121 בנך thy son H4191 המת the dead, H1121 ובני and my son H2416 החי׃ the living.

  26 H559 ותאמר Then spoke H802 האשׁה the woman H834 אשׁר whose H1121 בנה child H2416 החי the living H413 אל unto H4428 המלך the king, H3588 כי for H3648 נכמרו yearned H7356 רחמיה her bowels H5921 על upon H1121 בנה her son, H559 ותאמר and she said, H994 בי O H113 אדני my lord, H5414 תנו give H853 לה את   H3205 הילוד child, H2416 החי her the living H4191 והמת wise slay H408 אל and in no H4191 תמיתהו wise slay H2063 וזאת it. But the other H559 אמרת said, H1571 גם neither H1571 לי גם mine nor H3808 לך לא neither H1961 יהיה Let it be H1504 גזרו׃ thine, divide

  27 H6030 ויען answered H4428 המלך Then the king H559 ויאמר and said, H5414 תנו Give H853 לה את   H3205 הילוד child, H2416 החי her the living H4191 והמת wise slay H3808 לא and in no H4191 תמיתהו wise slay H1931 היא it: she H517 אמו׃ the mother
