  3 H559 and say, H559 Thus says H136 the Lord H3069 Yahweh: H1419 A great H5404 eagle H1419 with great H3671 wings H83 and long feathers, H4392 full H5133 of feathers, H7553 which had various colors, H935 came H3844 to Lebanon, H3947 and took H6788 the top H730 of the cedar:
  4 H6998 he cropped off H7218 the topmost H3242 of the young twigs H935 of it, and carried H776 it to a land H3667 of traffic; H7760 he set H5892 it in a city H7402 of merchants.
  5 H3947 He took H2233 also of the seed H776 of the land, H5414 and planted H2233 it in a fruitful H7704 soil; H3947 he placed H7227 it beside many H4325 waters; H7760 he set H6851 it as a willow tree.
  6 H6779 It grew, H5628 and became a spreading H1612 vine H8217 of low H6967 stature, H1808 whose branches H6437 turned H8328 toward him, and its roots H1612 were under him: so it became a vine, H6213 and brought forth H905 branches, H7971 and shot H6288 forth sprigs.
  7 H259 There was also another H1419 great H5404 eagle H1419 with great H3671 wings H7227 and many H5133 feathers: H1612 and behold, this vine H3719 bent H8328 its roots H7971 toward him, and shot forth H1808 its branches H6170 toward him, from the beds H4302 of its plantation, H8248 that he might water it.
  8 H8362 It was planted H2896 in a good H7704 soil H7227 by many H4325 waters, H6213 that it might bring forth H6057 branches, H5375 and that it might bear H6529 fruit, H155 that it might be a goodly H1612 vine.
  9 H559 Say, H559 Thus says H136 the Lord H3069 Yahweh: H6743 Shall it prosper? H5423 shall he not pull up H8328 its roots, H7082 and cut off H6529 its fruit, H3001 that it may wither; H6780 that all its fresh springing H2964 leaves H3001 may wither? H1419 and not by a strong H2220 arm H7227 or many H5971 people H5375 can it be raised H8328 from its roots.
  10 H8362 Yes, behold, being planted, H6743 shall it prosper? H3001 shall it not utterly H3001 wither, H6921 when the east H7307 wind H5060 touches H3001 it? it shall wither H6170 in the beds H6780 where it grew.
  11 H1697 Moreover the word H3068 of Yahweh H559 came to me, saying,
  12 H559 Say H4805 now to the rebellious H1004 house, H3045 Don't you know H559 what these things mean? tell H4428 them, Behold, the king H894 of Babylon H935 came H3389 to Jerusalem, H3947 and took H4428 its king, H8269 and its princes, H935 and brought H894 them to him to Babylon:
  13 H3947 and he took H2233 of the seed H4410 royal, H3772 and made H1285 a covenant H935 with him; he also brought H423 him under an oath, H935 and took H352 away the mighty H776 of the land;
  14 H4467 that the kingdom H8217 might be base, H5375 that it might not lift itself up, H8104 but that by keeping H1285 his covenant H5975 it might stand.
  15 H4775 But he rebelled H7971 against him in sending H4397 his ambassadors H4714 into Egypt, H5414 that they might give H5483 him horses H7227 and many H5971 people. H6743 Shall he prosper? H4422 shall he escape H6213 who does H6565 such things? shall he break H1285 the covenant, H4422 and yet escape?
  16 H2416 As I live, H5002 says H136 the Lord H3069 Yahweh, H4725 surely in the place H4428 where the king H4427 dwells who made him king, H423 whose oath H959 he despised, H1285 and whose covenant H6565 he broke, H8432 even with him in the midst H894 of Babylon H4191 he shall die.
  17 H6547 Neither shall Pharaoh H1419 with his mighty H2428 army H7227 and great H6951 company H6213 help H4421 him in the war, H8210 when they cast up H5550 mounds H1129 and build H1785 forts, H3772 to cut off H7227 many H5315 persons.
  18 H959 For he has despised H423 the oath H6565 by breaking H1285 the covenant; H5414 and behold, he had given H3027 his hand, H6213 and yet has done H4422 all these things; he shall not escape.
  19 H559 Therefore thus says H136 the Lord H3069 Yahweh: H2416 As I live, H423 surely my oath H959 that he has despised, H1285 and my covenant H6331 that he has broken, H5414 I will even bring H7218 it on his own head.
  20 H6566 I will spread H7568 my net H8610 on him, and he shall be taken H4686 in my snare, H935 and I will bring H894 him to Babylon, H8199 and will enter into judgment H4603 with him there for his trespass H4604 that he has trespassed against me.
  21 H4015 All his fugitives H102 in all his bands H5307 shall fall H2719 by the sword, H7604 and those who remain H6566 shall be scattered H7307 toward every wind: H3045 and you shall know H3068 that I, Yahweh, H1696 have spoken it.
  22 H559 Thus says H136 the Lord H3069 Yahweh: H3947 I will also take H7311 of the lofty H6788 top H730 of the cedar, H5414 and will set H6998 it; I will crop off H7218 from the topmost H3127 of its young twigs H7390 a tender one, H8362 and I will plant H1364 it on a high H8524 and lofty H2022 mountain:
  23 H2022 in the mountain H4791 of the height H3478 of Israel H8362 will I plant H5375 it; and it shall bring forth H6057 boughs, H6213 and bear H6529 fruit, H117 and be a goodly H730 cedar: H7931 and under it shall dwell H6833 all birds H3671 of every wing; H6738 in the shade H1808 of its branches H7931 shall they dwell.
  24 H6086 All the trees H7704 of the field H3045 shall know H3068 that I, Yahweh, H8213 have brought down H1364 the high H6086 tree, H1361 have exalted H8217 the low H6086 tree, H3001 have dried H3892 up the green H6086 tree, H3002 and have made the dry H6086 tree H6524 to flourish; H3068 I, Yahweh, H1696 have spoken H6213 and have done it.
