H4905 Maschil [H8688]   H623 of Asaph H430 . O God H2186 , why hast thou cast us off [H8804]   H5331 for ever H639 ? why doth thine anger H6225 smoke [H8799]   H6629 against the sheep H4830 of thy pasture?
H2142 Remember [H8798]   H5712 thy congregation H7069 , which thou hast purchased [H8804]   H6924 of old H7626 ; the rod H5159 of thine inheritance H1350 , which thou hast redeemed [H8804]   H2022 ; this mount H6726 Zion H7931 , wherein thou hast dwelt [H8804]  .
H7311 Lift up [H8685]   H6471 thy feet H5331 unto the perpetual H4876 desolations H341 ; even all that the enemy [H8802]   H7489 hath done wickedly [H8689]   H6944 in the sanctuary.
H6887 Thine enemies [H8802]   H7580 roar [H8804]   H7130 in the midst H4150 of thy congregations H7760 ; they set up [H8804]   H226 their ensigns H226 for signs.
H3045 A man was famous [H8735]   H935 according as he had lifted up [H8688]   H4605   H7134 axes H5442 upon the thick H6086 trees.
H1986 But now they break down [H8799]   H6603 the carved work H3162 thereof at once H3781 with axes H3597 and hammers.
H7971 They have cast [H8765]   H784 fire H4720 into thy sanctuary H2490 , they have defiled [H8765]   H4908 by casting down the dwelling place H8034 of thy name H776 to the ground.
H559 They said [H8804]   H3820 in their hearts H3238 , Let us destroy [H8799]   H3162 them together H8313 : they have burned up [H8804]   H4150 all the synagogues H410 of God H776 in the land.
H7200 We see [H8804]   H226 not our signs H5030 : there is no more any prophet H3045 : neither is there among us any that knoweth [H8802]   H5704 how long.
H430 O God H6862 , how long shall the adversary H2778 reproach [H8762]   H341 ? shall the enemy [H8802]   H5006 blaspheme [H8762]   H8034 thy name H5331 for ever?
H7725 Why withdrawest [H8686]   H3027 thou thy hand H3225 , even thy right hand H3615 ? pluck [H8761]   H7130 it out of H2436 thy bosom [H8675]   H2436  .
H430 For God H4428 is my King H6924 of old H6466 , working [H8802]   H3444 salvation H7130 in the midst H776 of the earth.
H6565 Thou didst divide [H8782]   H3220 the sea H5797 by thy strength H7665 : thou brakest [H8765]   H7218 the heads H8577 of the dragons H4325 in the waters.
H7533 Thou brakest [H8765]   H7218 the heads H3882 of leviathan H5414 in pieces, and gavest [H8799]   H3978 him to be meat H5971 to the people H6728 inhabiting the wilderness.
H1234 Thou didst cleave [H8804]   H4599 the fountain H5158 and the flood H3001 : thou driedst up [H8689]   H386 mighty H5104 rivers.
H3117 The day H3915 is thine, the night H3559 also is thine: thou hast prepared [H8689]   H3974 the light H8121 and the sun.
H5324 Thou hast set [H8689]   H1367 all the borders H776 of the earth H3335 : thou hast made [H8804]   H7019 summer H2779 and winter.
H2142 Remember [H8798]   H341 this, that the enemy [H8802]   H2778 hath reproached [H8765]   H3068 , O LORD H5036 , and that the foolish H5971 people H5006 have blasphemed [H8765]   H8034 thy name.
H5414 O deliver [H8799]   H5315 not the soul H8449 of thy turtledove H2416 unto the multitude H7911 of the wicked : forget [H8799]   H2416 not the congregation H6041 of thy poor H5331 for ever.
H5027 Have respect [H8685]   H1285 unto the covenant H4285 : for the dark H776 places of the earth H4390 are full [H8804]   H4999 of the habitations H2555 of cruelty.
H1790 O let not the oppressed H7725 return [H8799]   H3637 ashamed [H8737]   H6041 : let the poor H34 and needy H1984 praise [H8762]   H8034 thy name.
H6965 Arise [H8798]   H430 , O God H7378 , plead [H8798]   H7379 thine own cause H2142 : remember [H8798]   H5036 how the foolish man H2781 reproacheth H3117 thee daily.
H7911 Forget [H8799]   H6963 not the voice H6887 of thine enemies [H8802]   H7588 : the tumult H6965 of those that rise up [H8801]   H5927 against thee increaseth [H8802]   H8548 continually.
ERV(i) 1 Maschil of Asaph. O God, why hast thou cast [us] off for ever? why doth thine anger smoke against the sheep of thy pasture? 2 Remember thy congregation, which thou hast purchased of old, which thou hast redeemed to be the tribe of thine inheritance; [and] mount Zion, wherein thou hast dwelt. 3 Lift up thy feet unto the perpetual ruins, all the evil that the enemy hath done in the sanctuary. 4 Thine adversaries have roared in the midst of thine assembly; they have set up their ensigns for signs. 5 They seemed as men that lifted up axes upon a thicket of trees. 6 And now all the carved work thereof together they break down with hatchet and hammers. 7 They have set thy sanctuary on fire; they have profaned the dwelling place of thy name even to the ground. 8 They said in their heart, Let us make havoc of them altogether: they have burned up all the synagogues of God in the land. 9 We see not our signs: there is no more any prophet; neither is there among us any that knoweth how long. 10 How long, O God, shall the adversary reproach? shall the enemy blaspheme thy name for ever? 11 Why drawest thou back thy hand, even thy right hand? [pluck it] out of thy bosom [and] consume [them]. 12 Yet God is my King of old, working salvation in the midst of the earth. 13 Thou didst divide the sea by thy strength: thou brakest the heads of the dragons in the waters. 14 Thou brakest the heads of leviathan in pieces, thou gavest him to be meat to the people inhabiting the wilderness. 15 Thou didst cleave fountain and flood: thou driedst up mighty rivers. 16 The day is thine, the night also is thine: thou hast prepared the light and the sun. 17 Thou hast set all the borders of the earth: thou hast made summer and winter. 18 Remember this, that the enemy hath reproached, O LORD, and that foolish people have blasphemed thy name. 19 O deliver not the soul of thy turtle-dove unto the wild beast: forget not the life of thy poor for ever. 20 Have respect unto the covenant: for the dark places of the earth are full of the habitations of violence. 21 O let not the oppressed return ashamed: let the poor and needy praise thy name. 22 Arise, O God, plead thine own cause: remember how the foolish man reproacheth thee all the day. 23 Forget not the voice of thine adversaries: the tumult of those that rise up against thee ascendeth continually.
