Ezra 3

  1 H5060 ויגע was come, H2320 החדשׁ month H7637 השׁביעי And when the seventh H1121 ובני and the children H3478 ישׂראל of Israel H5892 בערים in the cities, H622 ויאספו gathered themselves together H5971 העם the people H376 כאישׁ man H259 אחד as one H413 אל to H3389 ירושׁלם׃ Jerusalem.

  2 H6965 ויקם Then stood up H3442 ישׁוע Jeshua H1121 בן the son H3136 יוצדק of Jozadak, H251 ואחיו and his brethren H3548 הכהנים the priests, H2216 וזרבבל and Zerubbabel H1121 בן the son H7597 שׁאלתיאל of Shealtiel, H251 ואחיו and his brethren, H1129 ויבנו and built H853 את   H4196 מזבח the altar H430 אלהי of the God H3478 ישׂראל of Israel, H5927 להעלות to offer H5921 עליו thereon, H5930 עלות burnt offerings H3789 ככתוב as written H8451 בתורת in the law H4872 משׁה of Moses H376 אישׁ the man H430 האלהים׃ of God.

  3 H3559 ויכינו And they set H4196 המזבח the altar H5921 על upon H4350 מכונתיו his bases; H3588 כי for H367 באימה fear H5921 עליהם upon H5971 מעמי them because of the people H776 הארצות of those countries: H5927 ויעל and they offered H5921 עליו thereon H5930 עלות burnt offerings H3068 ליהוה unto the LORD, H5930 עלות burnt offerings H1242 לבקר morning H6153 ולערב׃ and evening.

  4 H6213 ויעשׂו They kept H853 את   H2282 חג also the feast H5521 הסכות of tabernacles, H3789 ככתוב as written, H5930 ועלת burnt offerings H3117 יום and the daily H3117 ביום and the daily H4557 במספר by number, H4941 כמשׁפט according to the custom, H1697 דבר as the duty H3117 יום of every day H3117 ביומו׃ of every day

  5 H310 ואחריכן And afterward H5930 עלת burnt offering, H8548 תמיד the continual H2320 ולחדשׁים both of the new moons, H3605 ולכל and of all H4150 מועדי the set feasts H3068 יהוה of the LORD H6942 המקדשׁים that were consecrated, H3605 ולכל and of every one H5068 מתנדב that willingly offered H5071 נדבה a freewill offering H3068 ליהוה׃ unto the LORD.

  6 H3117 מיום   H259 אחד   H2320 לחדשׁ month H7637 השׁביעי of the seventh H2490 החלו began H5927 להעלות they to offer H5930 עלות burnt offerings H3069 ליהוה   H1964 והיכל of the temple H3069 יהוה   H3808 לא was not H3245 יסד׃ But the foundation

  7 H5414 ויתנו They gave H3701 כסף money H2672 לחצבים also unto the masons, H2796 ולחרשׁים and to the carpenters; H3978 ומאכל and meat, H4960 ומשׁתה and drink, H8081 ושׁמן and oil, H6722 לצדנים unto them of Zidon, H6876 ולצרים and to them of Tyre, H935 להביא to bring H6086 עצי trees H730 ארזים cedar H4480 מן from H3844 הלבנון Lebanon H413 אל to H3220 ים the sea H3305 יפוא of Joppa, H7558 כרשׁיון according to the grant H3566 כורשׁ that they had of Cyrus H4428 מלך king H6539 פרס of Persia. H5921 עליהם׃  

  8 H8141 ובשׁנה year H8145 השׁנית Now in the second H935 לבואם of their coming H413 אל unto H1004 בית the house H430 האלהים of God H3389 לירושׁלם at Jerusalem, H2320 בחדשׁ month, H8145 השׁני in the second H2490 החלו began H2216 זרבבל Zerubbabel H1121 בן the son H7597 שׁאלתיאל of Shealtiel, H3442 וישׁוע and Jeshua H1121 בן the son H3136 יוצדק of Jozadak, H7605 ושׁאר and the remnant H251 אחיהם of their brethren H3548 הכהנים the priests H3881 והלוים and the Levites, H3605 וכל and all H935 הבאים they that were come H7628 מהשׁבי out of the captivity H3389 ירושׁלם unto Jerusalem; H5975 ויעמידו and appointed H853 את   H3881 הלוים the Levites, H1121 מבן   H6242 עשׂרים   H8141 שׁנה   H4605 ומעלה and upward, H5329 לנצח to set H5921 על forward H4399 מלאכת the work H1004 בית of the house H3068 יהוה׃ of the LORD.

  9 H5975 ויעמד Then stood H3442 ישׁוע Jeshua H1121 בניו his sons H251 ואחיו and his brethren, H6934 קדמיאל Kadmiel H1121 ובניו and his sons, H1121 בני the sons H3063 יהודה of Judah, H259 כאחד together, H5329 לנצח to set H5921 על forward H6213 עשׂה the workmen H4399 המלאכה the workmen H1004 בבית in the house H430 האלהים of God: H1121 בני the sons H2582 חנדד of Henadad, H1121 בניהם their sons H251 ואחיהם and their brethren H3881 הלוים׃ the Levites.

  10 H3245 ויסדו laid the foundation H1129 הבנים And when the builders H853 את   H1964 היכל of the temple H3068 יהוה of the LORD, H5975 ויעמידו they set H3548 הכהנים the priests H3847 מלבשׁים in their apparel H2689 בחצצרות with trumpets, H3881 והלוים and the Levites H1121 בני the sons H623 אסף of Asaph H4700 במצלתים with cymbals, H1984 להלל to praise H853 את   H3068 יהוה the LORD, H5921 על after H3027 ידי the ordinance H1732 דויד of David H4428 מלך king H3478 ישׂראל׃ of Israel.

  11 H6030 ויענו And they sang together by course H1984 בהלל in praising H3034 ובהודת and giving thanks H3068 ליהוה unto the LORD; H3588 כי because H2896 טוב good, H3588 כי for H5769 לעולם forever H2617 חסדו his mercy H5921 על toward H3478 ישׂראל Israel.   12 H7227 ורבים But many H3548 מהכהנים of the priests H3881 והלוים and Levites H7218 וראשׁי and chief H1 האבות of the fathers, H2205 הזקנים ancient men, H834 אשׁר that H7200 ראו had seen H853 את   H1004 הבית house, H7223 הראשׁון the first H3245 ביסדו when the foundation of this house was laid H2088 זה   H1004 הבית   H5869 בעיניהם before their eyes, H1058 בכים wept H6963 בקול voice; H1419 גדול with a loud H7227 ורבים and many H8643 בתרועה shouted aloud H8057 בשׂמחה for joy: H7311 להרים   H6963 קול׃  

  13 H369 ואין could not H5971 העם So that the people H5234 מכירים discern H6963 קול the noise H8643 תרועת of the shout H8057 השׂמחה of joy H6963 לקול from the noise H1065 בכי of the weeping H5971 העם of the people: H3588 כי for H5971 העם the people H7321 מריעים shouted H8643 תרועה shout, H1419 גדולה with a loud H6963 והקול and the noise H8085 נשׁמע was heard H5704 עד afar off.
