H7760 וישׂם appointed H4428 מלך And the king H804 אשׁור of Assyria H5921 על unto H2396 חזקיה Hezekiah H4428 מלך king H3063 יהודה of Judah H7969 שׁלשׁ three H3967 מאות hundred H3603 ככר talents H3701 כסף of silver H7970 ושׁלשׁים and thirty H3603 ככר talents H2091 זהב׃ of gold.
  15 H5414 ויתן gave H2396 חזקיה And Hezekiah H853 את   H3605 כל all H3701 הכסף the silver H4672 הנמצא that was found H1004 בית in the house H3068 יהוה of the LORD, H214 ובאצרות and in the treasures H1004 בית house. H4428 המלך׃ of the king's
  16 H6256 בעת time H1931 ההיא At that H7112 קצץ cut off H2396 חזקיה did Hezekiah H853 את   H1817 דלתות the doors H1964 היכל of the temple H3068 יהוה of the LORD, H853 ואת   H547 האמנות and the pillars H834 אשׁר which H6823 צפה had overlaid, H2396 חזקיה Hezekiah H4428 מלך king H3063 יהודה of Judah H5414 ויתנם and gave H4428 למלך it to the king H804 אשׁור׃ of Assyria.
  17 H7971 וישׁלח sent H4428 מלך And the king H804 אשׁור of Assyria H853 את   H8661 תרתן Tartan H853 ואת   H7249 רב סריס and Rabsaris H853 ואת   H7262 רב שׁקה and Rab-shakeh H4480 מן from H3923 לכישׁ Lachish H413 אל to H4428 המלך king H2396 חזקיהו Hezekiah H2426 בחיל host H3515 כבד with a great H3389 ירושׁלם against Jerusalem. H5927 ויעלו And they went up H935 ויבאו and came H3389 ירושׁלם to Jerusalem.   18 H7121 ויקראו And when they had called H413 אל to H4428 המלך the king, H3318 ויצא there came out H413 אלהם to H471 אליקים them Eliakim H1121 בן the son H2518 חלקיהו of Hilkiah, H834 אשׁר which H5921 על over H1004 הבית the household, H7644 ושׁבנה and Shebna H5608 הספר the scribe, H3098 ויואח and Joah H1121 בן the son H623 אסף of Asaph H2142 המזכיר׃ the recorder.
  19 H559 ויאמר said H413 אלהם unto H7262 רב שׁקה And Rab-shakeh H559 אמרו them, Speak H4994 נא ye now H413 אל to H2396 חזקיהו Hezekiah, H3541 כה Thus H559 אמר saith H4428 המלך king, H1419 הגדול the great H4428 מלך the king H804 אשׁור of Assyria, H4100 מה What H986 הבטחון confidence H2088 הזה this H834 אשׁר wherein H982 בטחת׃ thou trustest?
  20 H559 אמרת Thou sayest, H389 אך (but H1697 דבר words,) H8193 שׂפתים vain H6098 עצה counsel H1369 וגבורה and strength H4421 למלחמה for the war. H6258 עתה Now H5921 על on H4310 מי whom H982 בטחת dost thou trust, H3588 כי that H4775 מרדת׃ thou rebellest
  21 H6258 עתה Now, H2009 הנה behold, H982 בטחת thou trustest H5921 לך על upon H4938 משׁענת the staff H7070 הקנה reed, H7533 הרצוץ bruised H2088 הזה of this H5921 על upon H4714 מצרים Egypt, H834 אשׁר which H5564 יסמך lean, H376 אישׁ if a man H5921 עליו on H935 ובא it will go H3709 בכפו into his hand, H5344 ונקבה and pierce H3651 כן it: so H6547 פרעה Pharaoh H4428 מלך king H4714 מצרים of Egypt H3605 לכל unto all H982 הבטחים that trust H5921 עליו׃ on
  22 H3588 וכי But if H559 תאמרון ye say H413 אלי unto H413 אל in H3068 יהוה the LORD H430 אלהינו our God: H982 בטחנו me, We trust H3808 הלוא not H1931 הוא that he, H834 אשׁר whose H5493 הסיר hath taken away, H2396 חזקיהו Hezekiah H853 את   H1116 במתיו high places H853 ואת   H4196 מזבחתיו and whose altars H559 ויאמר and hath said H3063 ליהודה to Judah H3389 ולירושׁלם and Jerusalem, H6440 לפני before H4196 המזבח altar H2088 הזה this H7812 תשׁתחוו Ye shall worship H3389 בירושׁלם׃ in Jerusalem?
  23 H6258 ועתה Now H6148 התערב   H4994 נא therefore, I pray thee, H854 את to H113 אדני my lord H853 את   H4428 מלך the king H804 אשׁור of Assyria, H5414 ואתנה and I will deliver H505 לך אלפים thee two thousand H5483 סוסים horses, H518 אם if H3201 תוכל thou be able H5414 לתת on thy part to set H7392 לך רכבים riders H5921 עליהם׃ upon
  24 H349 ואיך How H7725 תשׁיב then wilt thou turn away H853 את   H6440 פני the face H6346 פחת captain H259 אחד of one H5650 עבדי servants, H113 אדני of my master's H6996 הקטנים of the least H982 ותבטח and put thy trust H5921 לך על on H4714 מצרים Egypt H7393 לרכב for chariots H6571 ולפרשׁים׃ and for horsemen?
  25 H6258 עתה Am I now H1107 המבלעדי without H3068 יהוה the LORD H5927 עליתי come up H5921 על against H4725 המקום place H2088 הזה this H7843 להשׁחתו to destroy H3068 יהוה it? The LORD H559 אמר said H413 אלי to H5927 עלה me, Go up H5921 על against H776 הארץ land, H2063 הזאת this H7843 והשׁחיתה׃ and destroy
  26 H559 ויאמר Then said H471 אליקים Eliakim H1121 בן the son H2518 חלקיהו of Hilkiah, H7644 ושׁבנה and Shebna, H3098 ויואח and Joah, H413 אל unto H7262 רב שׁקה Rab-shakeh, H1696 דבר Speak, H4994 נא I pray thee, H413 אל to H5650 עבדיך thy servants H762 ארמית in the Syrian language; H3588 כי for H8085 שׁמעים understand H587 אנחנו we H408 ואל not H1696 תדבר and talk H5973 עמנו with H3066 יהודית us in the Jews' language H241 באזני in the ears H5971 העם of the people H834 אשׁר that H5921 על on H2346 החמה׃ the wall.
  27 H559 ויאמר said H413 אליהם unto H7262 רב שׁקה But Rab-shakeh H5921 העל me to H113 אדניך them, Hath my master H413 ואליך and to H7971 שׁלחני sent H113 אדני thy master, H1696 לדבר thee, to speak H853 את   H1697 הדברים words? H428 האלה these H3808 הלא not H5921 על to H376 האנשׁים the men H3427 הישׁבים which sit H5921 על on H2346 החמה the wall, H398 לאכל that they may eat H853 את   H2755 חריהם   H8354 ולשׁתות and drink H853 את   H7890 שׁיניהם   H5973 עמכם׃ with
  28 H5975 ויעמד stood H7262 רב שׁקה Then Rab-shakeh H7121 ויקרא and cried H6963 בקול voice H1419 גדול with a loud H3066 יהודית in the Jews' language, H1696 וידבר and spoke, H559 ויאמר saying, H8085 שׁמעו Hear H1697 דבר the word H4428 המלך king, H1419 הגדול of the great H4428 מלך the king H804 אשׁור׃ of Assyria:
  29 H3541 כה Thus H559 אמר saith H4428 המלך the king, H408 אל Let not H5377 ישׁיא deceive H2396 לכם חזקיהו Hezekiah H3588 כי you: for H3808 לא he shall not H3201 יוכל be able H5337 להציל to deliver H853 אתכם   H3027 מידו׃ you out of his hand:
  30 H408 ואל Neither H982 יבטח make you trust H853 אתכם make you trust H2396 חזקיהו let Hezekiah H413 אל in H3068 יהוה the LORD, H559 לאמר saying, H5337 הצל will surely deliver H5337 יצילנו will surely deliver H3068 יהוה The LORD H3808 ולא shall not H5414 תנתן be delivered H853 את   H5892 העיר city H2063 הזאת us, and this H3027 ביד into the hand H4428 מלך of the king H804 אשׁור׃ of Assyria.
  31 H408 אל not H8085 תשׁמעו Hearken H413 אל to H2396 חזקיהו Hezekiah: H3588 כי for H3541 כה thus H559 אמר saith H4428 מלך the king H804 אשׁור of Assyria, H6213 עשׂו Make H854 אתי with H1293 ברכה me by a present, H3318 וצאו and come out H413 אלי to H398 ואכלו me, and eat H376 אישׁ ye every man H1612 גפנו of his own vine, H376 ואישׁ and every one H8384 תאנתו of his fig tree, H8354 ושׁתו and drink H376 אישׁ ye every one H4325 מי the waters H953 בורו׃ of his cistern:
  32 H5704 עד Until H935 באי I come H3947 ולקחתי   H853 אתכם   H413 אל to H776 ארץ a land H776 כארצכם like your own land, H776 ארץ a land H1715 דגן of corn H8492 ותירושׁ and wine, H776 ארץ a land H3899 לחם of bread H3754 וכרמים and vineyards, H776 ארץ a land H2132 זית olive H3323 יצהר of oil H1706 ודבשׁ and of honey, H2421 וחיו that ye may live, H3808 ולא and not H4191 תמתו die: H408 ואל not H8085 תשׁמעו and hearken H413 אל unto H2396 חזקיהו Hezekiah, H3588 כי when H5496 יסית he persuadeth H853 אתכם   H559 לאמר you, saying, H3068 יהוה The LORD H5337 יצילנו׃ will deliver
  33 H5337 ההצל delivered at all H5337 הצילו delivered at all H430 אלהי of the gods H1471 הגוים of the nations H376 אישׁ Hath any H853 את   H776 ארצו his land H3027 מיד out of the hand H4428 מלך of the king H804 אשׁור׃ of Assyria?
  34 H346 איה Where H430 אלהי the gods H2574 חמת of Hamath, H774 וארפד and of Arpad? H346 איה where H430 אלהי the gods H5617 ספרוים of Sepharvaim, H2012 הנע Hena, H5755 ועוה and Ivah? H3588 כי   H5337 הצילו have they delivered H853 את   H8111 שׁמרון Samaria H3027 מידי׃ out of mine hand?
  35 H4310 מי Who H3605 בכל they among all H430 אלהי the gods H776 הארצות of the countries, H834 אשׁר that H5337 הצילו have delivered H853 את   H776 ארצם their country H3027 מידי out of mine hand, H3588 כי that H5337 יציל should deliver H3068 יהוה the LORD H853 את   H3389 ירושׁלם Jerusalem H3027 מידי׃ out of mine hand?
  36 H2790 והחרישׁו held their peace, H5971 העם But the people H3808 ולא him not H6030 ענו and answered H853 אתו   H1697 דבר a word: H3588 כי for H4687 מצות commandment H4428 המלך the king's H1931 היא   H559 לאמר was, saying, H3808 לא him not. H6030 תענהו׃ Answer
  37 H935 ויבא Then came H471 אליקים Eliakim H1121 בן the son H2518 חלקיה of Hilkiah, H834 אשׁר which H5921 על over H1004 הבית the household, H7644 ושׁבנא and Shebna H5608 הספר the scribe, H3098 ויואח and Joah H1121 בן the son H623 אסף of Asaph H2142 המזכיר the recorder, H413 אל to H2396 חזקיהו Hezekiah H7167 קרועי rent, H899 בגדים with clothes H5046 ויגדו and told H1697 לו דברי him the words H7262 רב שׁקה׃ of Rab-shakeh.
