2 Kings 18:13-37

  13 G2532 And G3588 in the G5065 fourteenth G2094 year G935 of king G* Hezekiah G305 [⁴ascended G* ¹Sennacherib G935 ²king G* ³of the Assyrians] G1909 against G3588 the G4172 [²cities G* ³of Judah G3588   G3793.1 ¹fortified], G2532 and G4815 he seized G1473 them.

  14 G2532 And G649 [⁴sent G* ¹Hezekiah G935 ²king G* ³of Judah] G32 messengers G4314 to G3588 the G935 king G3588 of the G* Assyrians, G1519 to G* Lachish, G3004 saying, G264 I have sinned, G654 turn G575 from G1473 me! G3739 What G1437 ever G2007 you should place G1909 upon G1473 me G941 I will bear. G2532 And G2007 [⁴placed a tribute G3588 ¹the G935 ²king G* ³of the Assyrians] G1909 upon G* Hezekiah G935 king G* of Judah G5145 of three hundred G5007 talents G694 of silver G2532 and G5144 thirty G5007 talents G5553 of gold.

  15 G2532 And G1325 Hezekiah gave G*   G3956 all G3588 the G694 silver G3588   G2147 he found G1722 in G3624 the house G2962 of the lord, G2532 and G1722 in G2344 the treasuries G3624 of the house G3588 of the G935 king.

  16 G1722 In G3588   G2540 that time G1565   G4792.1 [⁴cut off G*   G* ¹Hezekiah G3588   G935 ²king G* ³of Judah] G3588 the G2374 doors G3588 of the G3485 temple G2962 of the lord, G2532 and G3588 the G4741 supports G3739 which G5558 [⁵gilded G* ¹Hezekiah G3588 ²the G935 ³king G* ⁴of Judah], G2532 and G1325 gave G1473 them G3588 to the G935 king G* of the Assyrians.

  17 G2532 And G649 [³sent G935 ¹ the king G* ²of the Assyrians] G3588   G* Tartan, G2532 and G3588   G* Rabsaris, G2532 and G3588   G* Rabshakeh G1537 from G* Lachish G4314 to G3588   G935 king G* Hezekiah G1722 with G1411 [²force G926 ¹a heavy] G1519 to G* Jerusalem. G2532 And G305 they ascended, G2532 and G2064 came G1519 to G* Jerusalem. G2532 And G2476 they stood G1722 by G3588 the G5200.1 aqueduct G3588 of the G507 upper G2861 pool, G3739 which G1510.2.3 is G1722 in G3588 the G3598 way G3588 of the G68 field G3588 of the G1102 fuller.

  18 G2532 And G994 they yelled G4314 to G* Hezekiah. G2532 And G2064 [⁶came G4314 ⁷to G1473 ⁸them G* ¹Eliakim G5207 ²son G* ³of Hilkiah G3588 ⁴the G3623 ⁵manager], G2532 and G* Shebna G3588 the G1122 scribe, G2532 and G* Joah G3588 the G5207 son G* of Asaph G3588 the G363 one taking record.

  19 G2532 And G2036 [²said G4314 ³to G1473 ⁴them G* ¹Rabshakeh], G2036 Say G1211 indeed G4314 to G* Hezekiah, G3592 Thus G3004 says G3588 the G935 [²king G3588   G3173 ¹great], G935 the king G* of the Assyrians, G5100 What is G3588   G4006 this reliance G3778   G3739 which G3982 you yield on?

  20 G4133 How then G3056 do words G5491 of the lips G2532 and G1012 counsel G3904.3 [² the battle array G1096 ¹become] G1519 for G4171 war? G3568 Now G3767 then, G1909 upon G5100 whom G3982 are you relying upon, G3754 that G114 you annulled allegiance G1722 to G1473 me?

  21 G2400 Behold, G3982 are you [²relying G4572 ¹yourself] G1909 upon G3588   G4464 [³rod G3588   G2562.1 ⁴of reed G3588   G2345.4 ²fractured G3778 ¹this] -- G1909 upon G* Egypt? G5613 Thus G1437 if G1991 [²should stay G435 ¹man] G1909 upon G1473 it, G1525 it will enter G1519 into G3588   G5495 his hand G1473   G2532 and G5069.2 puncture G1473 it. G3779 Thus G1510.2.3 is G* Pharaoh G935 king G* of Egypt G3956 to all G3588 the ones G3982 relying G1909 upon G1473 him.

  22 G2532 And G1437 if G2036 you should say G4314 to G1473 me, G1909 Upon G2962 the lord G3588   G2316 our God G1473   G3982 we rely on.   23 G2532 And G3568 now G3396 mix in G3588 with G2962 my master G1473   G3588 the G935 king G* of the Assyrians, G2532 and G1325 I will give G1473 to you G1367 two thousand G2462 horses -- G1487 if G1410 you shall be able G1325 to put G4572 for yourself G1912.2 a rider G1909 upon G1473 them.

  24 G2532 And G4459 how G654 will you turn back G3588   G4383 the face G5116.1 [²toparch G1520 ¹of one] G3588 of the G1401 [²servants G3588   G2962 ³of my master G1473   G3588 ¹least of the], G1646   G2532 and G1679 hope G4572 for yourself G1909 upon G* Egypt G1519 for G716 chariots G2532 and G2460 horsemen?

  25 G2532 And G3568 now, G3361 is it G427 without G2962 the lord G305 that we ascended G1909 against G3588   G5117 this place G3778   G3588   G1311 to utterly destroy G1473 it? G2962 The lord G2036 said G4314 to G1473 me, G305 Ascend G1909 against G3588   G1093 this land G3778   G2532 and G1311 utterly destroy G1473 it!

  26 G2532 And G2036 [⁸said G* ¹Eliakim G5207 ²son G* ³of Hilkiah G2532 ⁴and G* ⁵Shebna G2532 ⁶and G* ⁷Joah] G4314 to G* Rabshakeh, G2980 Speak G1211 indeed G4314 to G3588   G3816 your servants G1473   G* in Syrian! G3754 for G191 we hear. G1473   G2532 And G3756 do not G2980 speak G4314 with G1473 us G2454.1 in Jewish G1722 to G3588 the G3775 ears G3588 of the G2992 people G3588   G1909 upon G3588 the G5038 wall!

  27 G2532 And G2036 [²said G4314 ³to G1473 ⁴them G* ¹Rabshakeh], G3361 Is it G4314 to G3588   G2962 your master, G1473   G2532 and G4314 to G1473 you G649 [²sent G1473 ³me G3588   G2962 ¹my master] G1473   G2980 to speak G3588   G3056 these words? G3778   G3780 Is it not G4314 to G3588 the G435 men, G3588 the ones G2521 sitting G1909 upon G3588 the G5038 wall, G3588   G2068 to eat G3588   G2874.1 their dung, G1473   G2532 and G4095 to drink G3588   G3774.2 their urine G1473   G3326 with G1473 you G260 together?

  28 G2532 And G2476 Rabshakeh stood G*   G2532 and G994 yelled G5456 [²voice G3173 ¹ with a great] G2454.1 in Jewish, G2532 and G2980 spoke, G2532 and G2036 he said, G191 Hear G3588 the G3056 words G3588 of the G935 king, G3588 of the G3173 great G935 king G* of the Assyrians!

  29 G3592 Thus G3004 says G3588 the G935 king, G3361 Let not G1869 [²lift G1473 ³you G* ¹Hezekiah]! G3754 for G3766.2 in no way G1410 should he be able G1473 to rescue you G1807   G1537 from out of G5495 my hand. G1473  

  30 G2532 And G3361 let not G1901.1 [²raise your hope G1473   G* ¹Hezekiah] G1909 unto G2962 the lord! G3004 saying, G1807 In rescuing, G1807 [³will rescue G1473 ⁴us G3588 ¹the G2962 ² lord], G2532 and G3766.2 and in no way G3860 shall [²be delivered G3588   G4172 ¹this city] G3778   G1722 into G5495 the hand G935 of the king G* of the Assyrians.

  31 G3361 Do not G191 listen to G* Hezekiah! G3754 for G3592 thus G3004 says G3588 the G935 king G* of the Assyrians, G4160 Do G3326 for G1473 me G2129 a blessing, G2532 and G1831 come forth G4314 to G1473 me! G2532 and G2068 [²shall eat G1538 ¹each] G3588   G288 of his grapevine, G1473   G2532 and G1538 each G3588   G4808 of his fig tree, G1473   G2532 and G4095 [²shall drink G1538 ¹each] G3588   G5204 water G3588   G2978.1 of his well; G1473  

  32 G2193 until G302 whenever G2064 I should come, G2532 and G2983 I should take G1473 you G1519 into G1093 a land G5613 as G3588   G1093 your land, G1473   G1093 a land G4621 of grain G2532 and G3631 wine G2532 and G740 bread G2532 and G290 vineyards, G1093 a land G1637 of olive oil G2532 and G3192 honey, G2532 and G2198 you shall live G2532 and G3756 you shall not die. G599   G2532 And G3361 do not G191 listen to G* Hezekiah! G3754 for G538 he deceives G1473 you, G3004 saying, G2962 The lord G1807 shall deliver G1473 you.

  33 G3361 Have G4506 by rescuing G4506 [⁵rescued G3588 ¹the G2316 ²gods G3588 ³of the G1484 ⁴nations] G1538 each G3588   G1093 his land G1473   G1537 from out of G5495 the hand G935 of the king G* of the Assyrians?

  34 G4226 Where G1510.2.3 is G3588 the G2316 god G* of Hamath, G2532 and G* Arphad? G4226 Where G1510.2.3 is G3588 the G2316 god G* of Sepharvaim -- G* Hena G2532 and G* Ivah? G3361 Did G1807 they deliver G3588   G* Samaria G1537 from out of G5495 my hand? G1473  

  35 G5100 Who G1722 among G3956 all G3588 the G2316 gods G3588 of the G1049.2 lands G3739 is the one who G1807 rescued G3588   G1093 his land G1473   G1537 from out of G5495 my hand, G1473   G3754 that G1807 the lord shall rescue G2962   G3588   G* Jerusalem G1537 from out of G5495 my hand? G1473  

  36 G2532 And G4623 they kept silent, G2532 and G3756 did not G611 answer G1473 him G3056 a word, G3754 because of G1785 the commandment G3588 of the G935 king, G3004 saying, G3756 You shall not G611 answer G1473 him.

  37 G2532 And G1525 [⁶entered G* ¹Eliakim G5207 ²son G* ³of Hilkiah G3588 ⁴the G3623 ⁵manager], G2532 and G* Shebna G3588 the G1122 scribe, G2532 and G* Joah G5207 son G* of Asaph G3588 the G363 one recording G4314 to G* Hezekiah G1284 tearing G3588   G2440 their garments. G2532 And G312 announced G1473 to him G3588 the G3056 words G* of Rabshakeh.
