1 Kings 22:2-35 ויהי And it came to pass בשׁנה year, השׁלישׁית in the third וירד came down יהושׁפט that Jehoshaphat מלך the king יהודה of Judah אל to מלך the king ישׂראל׃ of Israel.

3 H559 ויאמר said H4428 מלך And the king H3478 ישׂראל of Israel H413 אל unto H5650 עבדיו his servants, H3045 הידעתם Know H3588 כי ye that H7433 לנו רמת Ramoth in Gilead H1568 גלעד H587 ואנחנו ours, and we H2814 מחשׁים still, H3947 מקחת take H853 אתה H3027 מיד it not out of the hand H4428 מלך of the king H758 ארם׃ of Syria?

4 H559 ויאמר And he said H413 אל unto H3092 יהושׁפט Jehoshaphat, H1980 התלך Wilt thou go H854 אתי with H4421 למלחמה me to battle H7433 רמת to Ramoth-gilead? H1568 גלעד H559 ויאמר said H3092 יהושׁפט And Jehoshaphat H413 אל to H4428 מלך the king H3478 ישׂראל of Israel, H3644 כמוני H3644 כמוך H5971 כעמי I as thou my people H5971 כעמך as thy people, H5483 כסוסי my horses H5483 כסוסיך׃ as thy horses.

5 H559 ויאמר said H3092 יהושׁפט And Jehoshaphat H413 אל unto H4428 מלך the king H3478 ישׂראל of Israel, H1875 דרשׁ Inquire, H4994 נא I pray thee, H3117 כיום today. H854 את H1697 דבר at the word H3068 יהוה׃ of the LORD

6 H6908 ויקבץ H4428 מלך Then the king H3478 ישׂראל of Israel H853 את H5030 הנביאים H702 כארבע about four H3967 מאות hundred H376 אישׁ men, H559 ויאמר and said H413 אלהם unto H1980 האלך them, Shall I go H5921 על against H7433 רמת Ramoth-gilead H1568 גלעד H4421 למלחמה to battle, H518 אם or H2308 אחדל shall I forbear? H559 ויאמרו And they said, H5927 עלה Go up; H5414 ויתן shall deliver H136 אדני for the Lord H3027 ביד into the hand H4428 המלך׃ of the king.

7 H559 ויאמר said, H3092 יהושׁפט And Jehoshaphat H369 האין not H6311 פה here H5030 נביא a prophet H3068 ליהוה of the LORD H5750 עוד besides, H1875 ונדרשׁה that we might inquire H853 מאותו׃

8 H559 ויאמר said H4428 מלך And the king H3478 ישׂראל of Israel H413 אל unto H3092 יהושׁפט Jehoshaphat, H5750 עוד yet H376 אישׁ man, H259 אחד one H1875 לדרשׁ whom we may inquire H853 את H3068 יהוה of the LORD: H853 מאתו H589 ואני but I H8130 שׂנאתיו hate H3588 כי him; for H3808 לא he doth not H5012 יתנבא prophesy H5921 עלי concerning H2896 טוב good H3588 כי me, but H518 אם me, but H7451 רע evil. H4321 מיכיהו Micaiah H1121 בן the son H3229 ימלה of Imlah, H559 ויאמר said, H3092 יהושׁפט And Jehoshaphat H408 אל Let not H559 יאמר say H4428 המלך the king H3651 כן׃ so.

9 H7121 ויקרא called H4428 מלך Then the king H3478 ישׂראל of Israel H413 אל called H5631 סריס officer, H259 אחד an H559 ויאמר and said, H4116 מהרה Hasten H4321 מיכיהו Micaiah H1121 בן the son H3229 ימלה׃ of Imlah.

10 H4428 ומלך And the king H3478 ישׂראל of Israel H3092 ויהושׁפט and Jehoshaphat H4428 מלך the king H3063 יהודה of Judah H3427 ישׁבים sat H376 אישׁ each H5921 על on H3678 כסאו his throne, H3847 מלבשׁים having put on H899 בגדים their robes, H1637 בגרן in a void place H6607 פתח in the entrance H8179 שׁער of the gate H8111 שׁמרון of Samaria; H3605 וכל and all H5030 הנביאים the prophets H5012 מתנבאים prophesied H6440 לפניהם׃ before

11 H6213 ויעשׂ made H6667 לו צדקיה And Zedekiah H1121 בן the son H3668 כנענה of Chenaanah H7161 קרני him horns H1270 ברזל of iron: H559 ויאמר and he said, H3541 כה Thus H559 אמר saith H3068 יהוה the LORD, H428 באלה With these H5055 תנגח shalt thou push H853 את H758 ארם the Syrians, H5704 עד until H3615 כלתם׃ thou have consumed

12 H3605 וכל And all H5030 הנבאים the prophets H5012 נבאים prophesied H3651 כן so, H559 לאמר saying, H5927 עלה Go up H7433 רמת to Ramoth-gilead, H1568 גלעד H6743 והצלח and prosper: H5414 ונתן shall deliver H3068 יהוה for the LORD H3027 ביד hand. H4428 המלך׃ into the king's

13 H4397 והמלאך And the messenger H834 אשׁר that H1980 הלך was gone H7121 לקרא to call H4321 מיכיהו Micaiah H1696 דבר spoke H413 אליו unto H559 לאמר him, saying, H2009 הנה Behold H4994 נא now, H1697 דברי the words H5030 הנביאים of the prophets H6310 פה mouth: H259 אחד with one H2896 טוב good H413 אל unto H4428 המלך the king H1961 יהי be H4994 נא I pray thee, H1697 דבריך let thy word, H1697 כדבר like the word H259 אחד of one H1992 מהם H1696 ודברת and speak H2896 טוב׃ good.

14 H559 ויאמר said, H4321 מיכיהו And Micaiah H2416 חי liveth, H3068 יהוה the LORD H3588 כי H853 את H834 אשׁר what H559 יאמר saith H3068 יהוה the LORD H413 אלי unto H853 אתו H1696 אדבר׃ me, that will I speak.

15 H935 ויבוא So he came H413 אל to H4428 המלך the king. H559 ויאמר said H4428 המלך And the king H413 אליו unto H4321 מיכיהו him, Micaiah, H1980 הנלך shall we go H413 אל against H7433 רמת Ramoth-gilead H1568 גלעד H4421 למלחמה to battle, H518 אם or H2308 נחדל shall we forbear? H559 ויאמר H413 אליו H5927 עלה him, Go, H6743 והצלח and prosper: H5414 ונתן shall deliver H3068 יהוה for the LORD H3027 ביד into the hand H4428 המלך׃ of the king.

16 H559 ויאמר said H413 אליו unto H4428 המלך And the king H5704 עד him, How H4100 כמה many H6471 פעמים times H589 אני shall I H7650 משׁבעך adjure H834 אשׁר thee that H3808 לא me nothing H1696 תדבר thou tell H413 אלי thou tell H7535 רק but H571 אמת true H8034 בשׁם in the name H3068 יהוה׃ of the LORD?

17 H559 ויאמר And he said, H7200 ראיתי I saw H853 את H3605 כל all H3478 ישׂראל Israel H6327 נפצים scattered H413 אל upon H2022 ההרים the hills, H6629 כצאן as sheep H834 אשׁר that H369 אין have not H1992 להם H7462 רעה a shepherd: H559 ויאמר said, H3068 יהוה and the LORD H3808 לא have no H113 אדנים master: H428 לאלה These H7725 ישׁובו let them return H376 אישׁ every man H1004 לביתו to his house H7965 בשׁלום׃ in peace.

18 H559 ויאמר said H4428 מלך And the king H3478 ישׂראל of Israel H413 אל unto H3092 יהושׁפט Jehoshaphat, H3808 הלוא Did I not H559 אמרתי tell H413 אליך tell H3808 לוא no H5012 יתנבא thee that he would prophesy H5921 עלי concerning H2896 טוב good H3588 כי me, but H518 אם me, but H7451 רע׃ evil?

19 H559 ויאמר And he said, H3651 לכן thou therefore H8085 שׁמע Hear H1697 דבר the word H3068 יהוה of the LORD: H7200 ראיתי I saw H853 את H3068 יהוה the LORD H3427 ישׁב sitting H5921 על on H3678 כסאו his throne, H3605 וכל and all H6635 צבא the host H8064 השׁמים of heaven H5975 עמד standing H5921 עליו by H3225 מימינו him on his right hand H8040 ומשׂמאלו׃ and on his left.

20 H559 ויאמר said, H3068 יהוה And the LORD H4310 מי Who H6601 יפתה shall persuade H853 את H256 אחאב Ahab, H5927 ויעל that he may go up H5307 ויפל and fall H7433 ברמת at Ramoth-gilead? H1568 גלעד H559 ויאמר said H2088 זה And one H3541 בכה on this manner, H2088 וזה and another H559 אמר said H3541 בכה׃ on that manner.

21 H3318 ויצא And there came forth H7307 הרוח a spirit, H5975 ויעמד and stood H6440 לפני before H3068 יהוה the LORD, H559 ויאמר and said, H589 אני I H6601 אפתנו will persuade H559 ויאמר H3068 יהוה H413 אליו H4100 במה׃

22 H559 ויאמר said H3318 אצא I will go forth, H1961 והייתי and I will be H7307 רוח spirit H8267 שׁקר a lying H6310 בפי in the mouth H3605 כל of all H5030 נביאיו his prophets. H559 ויאמר And he said, H6601 תפתה Thou shalt persuade H1571 וגם also: H3201 תוכל and prevail H3318 צא go forth, H6213 ועשׂה and do H3651 כן׃ so.

23 H6258 ועתה Now H2009 הנה therefore, behold, H5414 נתן hath put H3068 יהוה the LORD H7307 רוח spirit H8267 שׁקר a lying H6310 בפי in the mouth H3605 כל of all H5030 נביאיך thy prophets, H428 אלה these H3068 ויהוה and the LORD H1696 דבר hath spoken H5921 עליך concerning H7451 רעה׃ evil

24 H5066 ויגשׁ went near, H6667 צדקיהו But Zedekiah H1121 בן the son H3668 כנענה of Chenaanah H5221 ויכה and smote H853 את H4321 מיכיהו Micaiah H5921 על on H3895 הלחי the cheek, H559 ויאמר and said, H335 אי Which H2088 זה way H5674 עבר went H7307 רוח the Spirit H3068 יהוה of the LORD H853 מאתי H1696 לדבר me to speak H854 אותך׃ from

25 H559 ויאמר said, H4321 מיכיהו And Micaiah H2005 הנך H7200 ראה thou shalt see H3117 ביום day, H1931 ההוא in that H834 אשׁר when H935 תבא thou shalt go into H2315 חדר an inner H2315 בחדר chamber H2247 להחבה׃ to hide thyself.

26 H559 ויאמר said, H4428 מלך And the king H3478 ישׂראל of Israel H3947 קח Take H853 את H4321 מיכיהו Micaiah, H7725 והשׁיבהו and carry him back H413 אל unto H526 אמן Amon H8269 שׂר the governor H5892 העיר of the city, H413 ואל and to H3101 יואשׁ Joash H1121 בן son; H4428 המלך׃ the king's

27 H559 ואמרת And say, H3541 כה Thus H559 אמר saith H4428 המלך the king, H7760 שׂימו Put H853 את H2088 זה this H1004 בית in the prison, H3608 הכלא in the prison, H398 והאכילהו and feed H3899 לחם him with bread H3906 לחץ of affliction H4325 ומים and with water H3906 לחץ of affliction, H5704 עד until H935 באי I come H7965 בשׁלום׃ in peace.

28 H559 ויאמר said, H4321 מיכיהו And Micaiah H518 אם If H7725 שׁוב thou return at all H7725 תשׁוב thou return at all H7965 בשׁלום in peace, H3808 לא hath not H1696 דבר spoken H3068 יהוה the LORD H559 בי ויאמר by me. And he said, H8085 שׁמעו Hearken, H5971 עמים O people, H3605 כלם׃ every

29 H5927 ויעל went up H4428 מלך So the king H3478 ישׂראל of Israel H3092 ויהושׁפט and Jehoshaphat H4428 מלך the king H3063 יהודה of Judah H7433 רמת to Ramoth-gilead. H1568 גלעד׃

30 H559 ויאמר said H4428 מלך And the king H3478 ישׂראל of Israel H413 אל unto H3092 יהושׁפט Jehoshaphat, H2664 התחפשׂ I will disguise myself, H935 ובא and enter H4421 במלחמה into the battle; H859 ואתה thou H3847 לבשׁ but put H899 בגדיך on thy robes. H2664 ויתחפשׂ disguised himself, H4428 מלך And the king H3478 ישׂראל of Israel H935 ויבוא and went H4421 במלחמה׃ into the battle.

31 H4428 ומלך But the king H758 ארם of Syria H6680 צוה commanded H853 את H8269 שׂרי captains that had rule over H7393 הרכב chariots, H834 אשׁר his H7970 לו שׁלשׁים thirty H8147 ושׁנים and two H559 לאמר saying, H3808 לא neither H3898 תלחמו Fight H854 את with H6996 קטן small H853 ואת H1419 גדול nor great, H3588 כי save H518 אם save H854 את with H4428 מלך the king H3478 ישׂראל of Israel. H905 לבדו׃ only

32 H1961 ויהי And it came to pass, H7200 כראות saw H8269 שׂרי when the captains H7393 הרכב of the chariots H853 את H3092 יהושׁפט Jehoshaphat, H1992 והמה that they H559 אמרו said, H389 אך Surely H4428 מלך the king H3478 ישׂראל of Israel. H1931 הוא it H5493 ויסרו And they turned aside H5921 עליו against H3898 להלחם to fight H2199 ויזעק cried out. H3092 יהושׁפט׃ him: and Jehoshaphat

33 H1961 ויהי And it came to pass, H7200 כראות perceived H8269 שׂרי when the captains H7393 הרכב of the chariots H3588 כי that H3808 לא not H4428 מלך the king H3478 ישׂראל of Israel, H1931 הוא it H7725 וישׁובו that they turned back H310 מאחריו׃ from pursuing

34 H376 ואישׁ And a man H4900 משׁך drew H7198 בקשׁת a bow H8537 לתמו at a venture, H5221 ויכה and smote H853 את H4428 מלך the king H3478 ישׂראל of Israel H996 בין between H1694 הדבקים the joints H996 ובין H8302 השׁרין of the harness: H559 ויאמר wherefore he said H7395 לרכבו unto the driver of his chariot, H2015 הפך Turn H3027 ידך thine hand, H3318 והוציאני and carry me out H4480 מן of H4264 המחנה the host; H3588 כי for H2470 החליתי׃ I am wounded.

35 H5927 ותעלה increased H4421 המלחמה And the battle H3117 ביום day: H1931 ההוא that H4428 והמלך and the king H1961 היה was H5975 מעמד stayed up H4818 במרכבה in his chariot H5227 נכח against H758 ארם the Syrians, H4191 וימת and died H6153 בערב at even: H3332 ויצק ran out H1818 דם and the blood H4347 המכה of the wound H413 אל into H2436 חיק the midst H7393 הרכב׃ of the chariot.
