Judges 2 And the angel of Jehovah came up from Gilgal to Bochim. And he said, I made you to go up out of Egypt, and have brought you unto the land which I sware unto your fathers; and I said, I will never break my covenant with you:

1 H4397 And the angel H3068 of Jehovah H5927 came up H1537 from Gilgal H1066 to Bochim. H559 And he said, H5927 I made you to go up H4714 out of Egypt, H935 and have brought H776 you unto the land H7650 which I sware H1 unto your fathers; H559 and I said, H5769 I will never H6565 break H1285 my covenant with you:

2 H3772 and ye shall make H1285 no covenant H3427 with the inhabitants H776 of this land; H5422 ye shall break down H4196 their altars. H8085 But ye have not hearkened H6963 unto my voice: H6213 why have ye done this?

3 H559 Wherefore I also said, H1644 I will not drive them out H6440 from before H6654 you; but they shall be as thorns in your sides, H430 and their gods H4170 shall be a snare unto you.

4 H4397 And it came to pass, when the angel H3068 of Jehovah H1696 spake H1697 these words H1121 unto all the children H3478 of Israel, H5971 that the people H5375 lifted up H6963 their voice, H1058 and wept.

5 H7121 And they called H8034 the name H4725 of that place H1066 Bochim: H2076 and they sacrificed H3068 there unto Jehovah.

6 H3091 Now when Joshua H5971 had sent the people H7971 away, H1121 the children H3478 of Israel H3212 went H376 every man H5159 unto his inheritance H3423 to possess H776 the land.

7 H5971 And the people H5647 served H3068 Jehovah H3117 all the days H3091 of Joshua, H3117 and all the days H2205 of the elders H3117 that outlived H3091 Joshua, H7200 who had seen H1419 all the great H4639 work H3068 of Jehovah H6213 that he had wrought H3478 for Israel.

8 H3091 And Joshua H1121 the son H5126 of Nun, H5650 the servant H3068 of Jehovah, H4191 died, H3967 being a hundred H6235 and ten H8141 years H1121 old.

9 H6912 And they buried H1366 him in the border H5159 of his inheritance H8556 in Timnath-heres, H2022 in the hill-country H669 of Ephraim, H2022 on the north of the mountain H1608 of Gaash.

10 H1755 And also all that generation H622 were gathered H1 unto their fathers: H6965 and there arose H312 another H1755 generation H310 after H3045 them, that knew H3068 not Jehovah, H4639 nor yet the work H6213 which he had wrought H3478 for Israel.

11 H1121 And the children H3478 of Israel H6213 did H7451 that which was evil H5869 in the sight H3068 of Jehovah, H5647 and served H1168 the Baalim;

12 H5800 and they forsook H3068 Jehovah, H430 the God H1 of their fathers, H3318 who brought them out H776 of the land H4714 of Egypt, H3212 and followed H312 other H430 gods, H430 of the gods H5971 of the peoples H5439 that were round about H7812 them, and bowed H3068 themselves down unto them: and they provoked Jehovah H3707 to anger.

13 H5800 And they forsook H3068 Jehovah, H5647 and served H1168 Baal H6252 and the Ashtaroth.

14 H639 And the anger H3068 of Jehovah H2734 was kindled H3478 against Israel, H5414 and he delivered H3027 them into the hands H8154 of spoilers H8155 that despoiled H4376 them; and he sold H3027 them into the hands H341 of their enemies H5439 round about, H3201 so that they could H5750 not any longer H5975 stand H6440 before H341 their enemies.

15 H3318 Whithersoever they went out, H3027 the hand H3068 of Jehovah H7451 was against them for evil, H3068 as Jehovah H1696 had spoken, H3068 and as Jehovah H7650 had sworn H3966 unto them: and they were sore H3334 distressed.

16 H3068 And Jehovah H6965 raised up H8199 judges, H3467 who saved H3027 them out of the hand H8154 of those that despoiled them.

17 H8085 And yet they hearkened H8199 not unto their judges; H2181 for they played the harlot H310 after H312 other H430 gods, H7812 and bowed H5493 themselves down unto them: they turned H4118 aside quickly H1870 out of the way H1 wherein their fathers H1980 walked, H8085 obeying H4687 the commandments H3068 of Jehovah; H6213 but they did not so.

18 H3068 And when Jehovah H6965 raised H8199 them up judges, H3068 then Jehovah H8199 was with the judge, H3467 and saved H3027 them out of the hand H341 of their enemies H3117 all the days H8199 of the judge: H5162 for it repented H3068 Jehovah H6440 because H5009 of their groaning H3905 by reason of them that oppressed H1766 them and vexed them.

19 H8199 But it came to pass, when the judge H4194 was dead, H7725 that they turned H7843 back, and dealt more corruptly H1 than their fathers, H3212 in following H312 other H430 gods H5647 to serve H7812 them, and to bow down H5307 unto them; they ceased H4611 not from their doings, H7186 nor from their stubborn H1870 way.

20 H639 And the anger H3068 of Jehovah H2734 was kindled H3478 against Israel; H559 and he said, H1471 Because this nation H5674 have transgressed H1285 my covenant H6680 which I commanded H1 their fathers, H8085 and have not hearkened H6963 unto my voice;

21 H3254 I also will not henceforth H3423 drive out H376 any H6440 from before H1471 them of the nations H3091 that Joshua H5800 left H4191 when he died;

22 H5254 that by them I may prove H3478 Israel, H8104 whether they will keep H1870 the way H3068 of Jehovah H3212 to walk H1 therein, as their fathers H8104 did keep it, or not.

23 H3068 So Jehovah H3240 left H1471 those nations, H1115 without H3423 driving them out H4118 hastily; H5414 neither delivered H3027 he them into the hand H3091 of Joshua.
